Our family likes to listen to SONOS in our home, but unfortunately if we sit outside in our gardens we have no way to listen to the beautiful music. I believe there would be a great market for a portable battery (and electrical) operated Play 1 or 3 wireless speaker. Recommendation: SONOS, please consider making a portable battery operated wireless speaker device.
As mentioned above, I am getting about a half second delay between the video and audio. This occurs on Netflix as well as on Xbox One. I can tell there is a delay since the headphones connected to the Xbox controller are ahead of the beam. This is not the case when using the TV speakers. I also have a play:3, a play:1, and the bridge set up. I connected the HDMI cable going from the Sonos beam to the TV's ARC. I have the audio set as Dolby D on the Insignia. ARC is checked in the System>CEC>ARC settings of the TV. The Xbox One has surround sound settings on. DTS Trusound is enabled on the TV and the dialog clarity is medium. I'm seeing that this is a common issue, has anyone found any fixes yet? I will be returning my Sonos Beam if I cannot get it to work in 2 weeks.
Hi Folks, I was given a Sonos Amp for Christmas and now looking for some speakers. I’ve always liked the look of the Klipsch Heresay iii and wondering how these would go paired with the Sonos Amp? I have a pair of Play 5’s and a Sub in another room, if that’s any indication of what I typically like. Also wondering how the Amp + Klipsch would compare to this setup. Thanks!
Hi All, My wife likes the Sonos Playbar, while I like the Bose 300. I have owned Bose products in the past. Listening to the demo at Best Buy, the Bose sounds better. The sales people say the Sonos demo is not very good. Being a professional nerd, I research everything. I have been monitoring both user support sites and I am having second thoughts about the Bose. There sure SEEMS to be a lot of basic issues with software updates on the Bose side. Slow or no responses. Both are the same price so nothing to go on there. As we get "older" it is more important to have clear dialog and not knock pictures off the wall when a car explodes. We mostly watch movies, sports and TV. Some music but not the priority. Harmony remote and Alexa. My main question is, from the communities perspective, would you buy it again and any comments of why Sonos is better than Bose? How has the support been? Are they listening to you? Do updates break more than they fix? Anothe
It should be possible to chose from your speakers which to be included in an alarm. Also to be able to add "all rooms". Furthermore I'd like to see a customization of the volumes for this. I have a Sonos 1, a Sonos 3 and the Sonos Connect Amp. The latter is in general much lower than the active speakers, and as I also use it for my TV, I not only have to add this to the group when the alarm goes off, I also have to adjust the volume. This could be very simple with the above mentioned settings.
I made a discovery today that will enhance my Sonos experience. I installed iTunes on my desktop computer running Windows 10. To my surprise, one of my Sonos players (Play5: 2nd generation) showed up in iTunes as an available Air Play resource. In short, I can direct iTunes running on my computer to a Sonos player which can then be grouped with my other players. I didn't know you could do that. I am now enjoying my iTunes library in "Party Mode" while using iTunes on my desktop computer to control what music I want to play. Also have it playing from my computer while simultaneously streaming to Sonos. Pretty cool!
I have a SoundCloud playlist with over 325 tracks on it, when I pull it up on the Sonos app it only loads about a fourth of it. I've inquired about this before, please help! My diagnostic confirmation number is 500090104
I have a problem setting up my LG UH6150 TV with the Playbar - I have set the TV to use optical audio but I can't remove the annoying "no entry" logo that appears when I change the volume with either my set top box remote or the original TV remote. I have tried following the steps here: https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2083#telus but it doesn't work. Has anyone managed to get rid of these pop ups on an LG brand television?
I have a fairly extensive audio setup and am looking to add support for streaming (as well as have multi room play). My setup: Thiel speakers, B&K preamp, Marantz monoblock amplifiers, Marantz CD player. Looks like I need to connect the audio out (either via digital coax or TOSLink) from Sonos Connect to the B&K preamp input. This will enable me to stream music onto the existing speaker setup It is not clear (sorry, newbie here) what I need to do so that music from the CD player is streamed to the Sonos Play:3 speaker in another room. Thanks.
Hi there, This is my setup: I have a Sonos Beam (with two Sonos 1's as back speakers). The Beam is connected via HDMI to the ARC channel of my LG TV (OLED55B7VAEN). I only use my Apple TV4K to watch TV and movies and also use the Apple TV remote to control the volume when watching TV. I have a Sonos Bridge (and several other Sonos speakers) for connection. I'm quite happy with the setup, connection stability and the audio performance during movies and such. But I have a small issue with the lowest possible volume. It's really loud. Way to loud for having something on while others in the house are sleeping. If I turn it all the way (mute) and then one tap up then it's really loud. I have tried setting the volume directly in the Sonos App, but it's still pretty loud. I have tried the Night Sound setting, but it distorts many sounds and is not really to my liking. I have tried playing things directly from the TV (not Apple TV) and the audio volume is the same. Is there someth
I was very excited to get my Sonos Beam and it plays the following perfectly: TV, Xbox One games, Sky + HD (once i changed the HDMI output from the Sky box to be DD rather than Stereo). I am very disappointed with the Blu ray output. I am not sure if the UK is different the US but all my Blu Rays are in DTS so when they get processed by the Beam they get converted to Stereo. For some reason this means the volume has to be cranked up high on the Beam and there is no real base. I am yet to test DVDs as i am sure these are in DD and will sound perfect. How can i improve the quality of the Blu ray discs? the TV sound is actually better than the beam! thanks
Hello Ihave a Sonos beam among other products. I just purchased a Samsung UE32M5520 TV from John Lewis. I have the Beam connected to the TV using the ARC port. My problem is this. When i put the TV into standby mode he Red LED on the TV should remain solid RED. However with the Sonos Beam connected. The Red LED flashes on the TV flashes on and off constantly. If i remove the HDMI cable form the Sonos Beam to the TV , the power LED on the TV remains Red. Which is what should happen. I can disable the Anynet setting in the TV settings but then this stops Sonos working all together,. I have Sky Q attached via HDMI 2 port.
Video on Amazon Prime via Apple TV keeps freezing when I use Sonos Beam. While the video freezes, the audio continues to play (using an optical audio cable). If I unhook Sonos and play through speakers, no freezing. I have updated Apple TV, router and made sure signal strength is good (router very close to Beam). Any suggestions other than ethernet cable? Would like to use the wireless feature the Beam if at all possible.
Is SONOS working with DOLBY to encode and reproduce content with ATMOS for home theater surround sound with either the 7.2.4 speaker arrangement or sound bar simulation?
Can we have a way to set-up Play1 for "small rooms" so that "spoken word" or "talk radio" can be heard over the shower water without having to crank the volume? I think it has something to do with speaker output power and equalization. I am unable to achieve that through the standard Sonos settings. It prevents me from using Sonos to listen to NPR during morning routines and at bedtime. My old Sony shower Radio (3 C batteries) still beats Sonos Play1 in terms of talk radio shower-ability! Background: I have a small bathroom that I have a Play1 in. I used to use a 15-yr old Sony shower radio (single speaker, 3 C batteries). It was perfect for listening to NPR. I could leave the shower door closed, water running, and bathroom door to bedroom closed and not only clearly hear the radio, but also not wake anyone sleeping in the bedroom. Now that I'm using Play1 in the bathroom, I have to turn the volume to near 100% to make sense of the "talk" on NPR or other spoken word media.
I can see people on the forum are writing about bass popping from Sonos ONE and I want to share my experience with this problem and want to hear what experiences other have with this issue. My story: I have 6 Sonos ONEs. 4 in 4 different rooms, and 2 as surround speakers in a 5.1 setup with a beam and sub. The problem is present on all 4 Sonos ONE speakers that are not connected to a sub. If I run a bass sweep using the "Bass Tests" by HzMP3 on Spotify, the problem is clear around the 35-55mhz transitions. I contacted the Sonos support and they were able to reproduce the issue and send a bug report to the US developers. Apparently this is an issue with the "sliding high pass filter", something the PLAY 1 also has according to Sonos support. Although confirming the issue, no apologies where given or compensation. I instead got the excuse that I couldn't expect that much from a small speaker. So the official answer I got was that I can't expect to play ordinary music from a Sono
I have a Beam that i've recently purchased. I'm using the HDMI-Optical option to connect to my TV. The volume buttons on the remote for the Apple TV 4K has worked perfectly before the i purchased the Beam. When installing the Beam, the app says the installation was successful and the remote was paired. The issue comes when I sit on the couch i have to raise my hand high in order to rise/lower the volume. My wife is starting to be annoyed and planning on returning it. The beam sits on an 8 inch mantel. I believe the iR to the beam is not strong enough to connect when i sit on the couch. Has anyone else had this issue? How have you solved it? Is there an after market iR extender that works?
Just upgraded my Connect:Amp to the new Sonos Amp. The Amp is beautiful and was a breeze to set up, but I immediately noticed pressure and pain in my ears. I reconnected my old Connect:Amp and my ears were fine. I'm not sure what's causing this, though the Amp does seem a bit brighter. Dialing the treble all the way down helped a little, but not much. My KEF Q150s have aluminum dome tweeters, and perhaps just don't play well with the new Amp. Maybe there's something else going on that I can't obviously detect. For completeness, I also have a KEF sub wired up. Anyone else experiencing something similar?
Ok so this seems to be a confusing question for me to find an answer for Basically i am getting the Epson EH-TW650 projector (im 99% sure doesnt have arc) My question is can i simply buy an Apple Tv 4th gen, plug it into my projector and use AirPlay to stream my audio to the sonos beam Hoping this is simple fix will be ok?
Is Sonos looking at Supporting Dolby Atmos in the future?
When my wife and I are watching TV, we are noticing that we are having some difficulty fully understanding what the people in the show are saying. It's as if it's not fully clear or as my wife would describe it, it's a volume issue where the dialogue is being overwhelmed by other sounds perhaps. It's gotten to the point that we need to turn on sub-titles at times. We don't notice this issue with other TV's/watching TV on a computer, so I think this is isolated to the Sonos playbar. Also, I've noticed when watching movies that the sound fluctuates a lot, in which in an entire movie I have to hold the remote to adjust the sound up and down. It's like the explosion scenes are way too loud but the speaking scenes are not loud enough so we turn it up to try to hear what they are saying and then something loud happens and it's somewhat jarring to us when we are watching the show. Is this an acoustics issue? Calibration issue? We have 1 Playbar, 2 Play 1's as surrounds, the Pl
Hi There. Loving the Sonos One, great little speaker. Definitely going to invest in more eventually however I Do have a question. I DJ, often from my living room using a DDJ SX and Serato. This is connected to a system in the lounge, but I would love the ability to have this also casted to my Sonos One in the kitchen, and eventually all round the house. I have read a lot of stuff that says you shouldn't connect to Sonos directly due to the latency But is there a way to stream to my speaker whilst still being in my sound system at home? I found this, which I am going to test, but this looks like it would send the whole signal (or not at all as the signal comes outside of the computer, from the DDJ SX... so I would probably have to route it back in with the monitor channel or something) Any ideas anyone has would be great. Thanks in advance folks!
Is there a product where I can turn my apartment into a rave where the lights are synced to the music playing on the Sonos system?
As an owner of a Sonos 5.1 system w/ Playbase in my family room at home, I just wonder WHY there is not a cheaper and smaller solution than spending $700 on that sub? The price tag really isn't the issue, it's the combination of that product at that price point in smaller applications. 1. That sub is a phenomenal piece. It reaches the level of performance and accuracy IMO of my dual 10" B&W subs in my media room at home. To my ears, the Sonos sub is incredible. 2. Bottom line, it's just too much for a small room like my loft at our condo where I use a Beam. It would never reach it's potential, and a waste of $700 in that tiny room - but as a bit of an audiophile I enjoy the sound of the deep lows and punch of movies. Is there any plans at any point to create a smaller sub?
Hello forum, I need to set up a Sonos system on a small, but corporate network. We have 4 VLANS. I would like to isolate the Sonos on lets say it's own VLAN. The controller/Wifi is set up and the Sonos works fine, but the controller has a DHCP IP: of 10.69.6.56 How can I change this to a static IP of lets say 10.69.5.10 I can ping 10.69.6.56 but there doesn't appear to be web control to it. Can anyone point me in the right direction if it's possible? thanks
