Every time you set an alarm the controller behaves at random. Sometimes works but more often it gives not me the chance to snooze or to stop it. By the way why not programming a touch button on the device for this purpose? Nice to act when you're still sleepy in the bed.
I have in celing bose speakers and want to connect to Sonos AMP. The speaker wires have 'plug ins' ... How do I connect to SONOS AMP
What would be your opinion on a Sonos 5.1 setup vs Dolby Atmos soundbars like these https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com.au%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F123316040405
Hello There are a lot of threads asking the question_”Beam vs Playbar/Playbase which should I get?” We all know that the Beam offers more features (i.e. HDMI_ARC, Alexa and AirPlay2). The biggy is sound; IMO primarily vocals/speech, as to how will it fairs in a room of X-Size. The obvious answer is given by Sonos: I’m going to offer my opinion and feel free to agree or disagree because as I said it’s my opinion. Having both a Playbar and Beam I’ll say this... Playbar/Playbase Out of the Box they win hands down versus the Beam; as room size is a non-issue (to a point). More speakers (given Sonos engineers drive for perfection) equate to better music reproduction. Vocals and speech are handled well without augmentation. The Beam Music wise it’s better than a Sonos One or Play 1 as stand-alone’s and I dare say the discontinued Play 3. I wonder if there's a replacement in the works for the Play 3. :? Using those same speakers in stereo pairs the Beam falls short. Vocal
Hey everyone, I'm wanting to mount my Play 1s to the wall and I'm well aware of the many options but I'm not sure what to do about the power chords. What creative solutions have you guys come up with?
Love all the speakers when listening to music. Not so much when watching TV. With Surround sound music his high and voice is low... got to keep the remove in my hand at all times to increase volumn and decrease it so that i don't scare the neighbors. Please tell me I don't have something setup correctly. I am using HDMI ARC to samsung TV and did Trueplay.
Hi all, want the get my play 1s mounted on the wall and have come to these 2 makes. The flexon and sanus. Any recommendations for which ones to get. Tia
Thumbs up/down for a song doesn't give the orange thumb to indicate that it's been thumbed before.
Dear Sonos, thank you for the music. Speaking of please allow automation of groups, as well as persistent virtual groups, for Sonos Speakers. This appears to be a reoccurring theme from reading the forums - going back as far as 6 years! It would be really nice to have a predefined group, for example "downstairs", to invoke through home automation such as Siri, Alexa, Google, or smart buttons or IFTT. Even a supper simple behavior such as ungrouping any current groups the speaker in the list are part of, then regrouping the speakers into the preset "virtual" group when its invoked would be appreciated. In this way, users could name groups of Sonos Speakers and ask Siri/Alexa/Google/Smart buttons/apps to play to them. (Siri play playlistX downstairs. In the case of a smart button, like a Pop or Flic, press the button to invoke the predefined speaker grouping, and ideally start the music). It would be even nicer if any kind of grouping/ungrouping behavior was exposed for I

Hi, I have a SONOS Playbar and pair of Play 1's synced up for my TV setup and have mulling over adding a SUB for a while now. I do enjoy a full cinema sound experience so am keen to know if people think it's worth it as I find it extremely hard to justify the price tag of the SONOS Sub. Is there a a cheaper alternative way of getting a subwoofer addon to my Sonos setup? For example, could I get another brand sub and then connect it up via a Connect perhaps to work in sync? Just looking at all my options really.
I've recently setup a new Sonos Amp and noticed that loudness was on by default (as someone has already noted here in a review), and also that the sub was turned on in advanced audio/sub settings despite no sub being connected. I wonder if having loudness on by default is the best option, given that it's possible many users will have relatively high-quality speakers attached to the amp? I also wonder if having the sub setting activated makes a difference to the sound if no sub is connected? I would have thought this setting would be disabled when no sub is connected. At the moment it is possible to toggle this setting. I haven't got around to a listening test to see if it actually makes a difference. Cheers, Peter.
Hi, I was hoping forum members who have Sonos Beam in a 5.1 setup advise me regarding adding a Sub with my current setup of Beam and Play 3 surrounds. I have read some posts where users are happy with the sub whereas some have suggested it might be a bit of "overkill" and some users have mentioned sub overpowering the Beam. I have a small/medium size living area (15ft x 12ft x 7 ft) and the current use is regular TV, listening to music via Spotify and movies (Netflix and Bluray). Saw Sub for sale (845 AU$) and thinking of buying or is it wise to wait for the "core sub" that might be released? https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/ae9n40/some_interesting_items_in_sonos_survey_today/ Any helpful advice much appreciated!
How do I connect my samsung sound bar to my Sonos play 1? I don’t see a spot to plug in the optical cord on my play1.
Hi, i’ve just bought a Beam, connected to a Sony Bravia tv using the optical cable (no HDMI ARC). Sound great except for intermittent audio drop outs lasting for a fraction of a second. I’ve noticed this when streaming from my Apple TV 4K and also when watching ordinary tv (Virgin cable). No problems so far when listening to music through Spotify. Would be great to resolve this as I’m very happy otherwise! Thanks. Diagnostic: 569334727
I have a playbase and added two sonos one speakers but getting very liitle sound from the speakers when watching TV. When playing music the sound is great. The TV is a Panasonic Model is TX-50DX7OOB. Tried most things but can't get the sonos speakers to work properly? Any suggestions please?
Hi All -- Thanks in advance for any ideas. I have a Panasonic TC-P65ST60 from 2013, HDMI spec is "HDAVI Control 5" -- which is ARC and CEC compatible. I get awesome sound through my Amp/Sub/pair of Sonos Play:1 setup -- but only when I use the Panasonic apps on the Smart TV. The Sonos app shows that the "Audio In" to the Amp is Dolby 5.1 in the "About My Sonos System" when I use it like this. BUT -- I cannot get any content to play 5.1 from an external source -- not an AppleTV 4, a recent Amazon Fire Stick, or a recent Roku Stick. It always plays Stereo 2 channel from these sources, and that's what the Sonos app shows. I set these sources up as inputs to HDMI 1 or HDMI 3 on the Panasonic TV. (HDMI 2 is the ARC port). I've tried all the settings I can access on the TV menu tree, and nothing changes the output. When I force the source (any of the three I've tried) to go Dolby 5.1, there's no sound from content at all -- there is user interface clicking, but no sound play
A hifi homecinema soundbar without dts support seems not up to date for me. Are there any plans to add dts support?
Overall I am pleased with the implementation of Airplay 2 on Sonos. Yet, it could (potentially?) become better. Therefore I have two questions regarding Sonos as Airplay 2 Speakers on the Home app / iOS: 1. The speakers, when added to the Home app, serve to indicate to Siri their physical location (i.e. room), however, nothing else is possible, not even knowing the status of the device (if playing or not), let alone controlling it (e.g. simple Play/Pause). Here's how a HomePod speaker looks: and this is how a Sonos speaker looks like: Question: will this ever change? Will one gain more functionality? I know the HomePod is an Apple product, so this may be a limitation by Apple, which they overcome for their own products. Anyone knows about it? 2. Airplay 2 "Players" such as the HomePod or Apple TV show up as independently controlled sources of content. Here's how it looks on an iPhone seeing multiple sources and targets: For example the Apple TV "VC APT" can be an
Hi all We installed a Sonus sytem when we built our house 6 years ago. Installed ceiling speakers in 5 rooms (incl outdoor), hardwired to an amplifier Recently, 2 of the 5 rooms will not play music. They are visable, the lights on the controllers appear normal, but not music at all Thoughts? Thanks
Coming out of its IPO last week there was the strong hint that the company will be releasing products at a high velocity. In the last year they seem to have started along this trend with 3 major releases in just over a year (Playbase, One, Beam). Certainly one of the areas they have been criticized on this board and elsewhere is their slowness to add new products to their portfolio. It is said that they have some new and exciting ones. What are your expectations of the ones likely to follow and that you want / need to see follow in the next 12 months? I will start with the following: 1. A new Play 3 with Alexa and of course AirPlay 2 compatibility. Think it has the potential to be its most versatile product particularly if Google assistant added. 2. A smaller sub would be great to pair with the Beam. This will make a great setup for smaller rooms - I think the current sub is a bit overkill and mismatched. 3 New PlayBar with Alexa, Airplay and maybe Dolby Atmos What else woul
I have a couple of Sonos One speakers and find them to be a remarkable audio value. I have been wanting to supplement them with a subwoofer, but Sonos' price for the sub is outrageous. Why can't Sonos cut the margin on the existing sub or design a new sub for those of us who may not need a super glossy donut. Even a lower power sub would be sufficient for my needs.
Now that the Sonos One has arrived in Gen 2 only to sport more RAM and CPU I cannot help to think they pushed the original with undermined specs to earn more money and be greedy. Maybe that's why they can't push google assistant yet? Because the device has too little ram and cpu power? Maybe its just too underpowered? Maybe they even knew that and that the developers had to find a creative solution to this? And that is really hard for them. That's why GA never comes out or will have limited functions (like alexa). This is just a feeling I have and it makes sense. I feel very ripped off by sonos because of no GA yet.
I have Beam, two One’s and subwoofer along with Samsung NU6950 tv and PS4. The Beam is connected using HDMI ARC, the PS4 audio comes via HDMI to the tv. The tv is set up for HDMI Bitstream input and Dolby Digital output. The 5.1 sound is excellent but I’m getting about 1 second audio delay when using the PS4. I’ve read of others who have the same issue but don’t know if it has ever been resolved. Any guidance would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
Created a Spotify playlist, how do I access it when inside Sonos?
