Sonos to Samsung soundbar
How do I connect my samsung sound bar to my Sonos play 1? I don’t see a spot to plug in the optical cord on my play1.

Play:1 doesn't have any audio sockets, and definitely not an optical one.
For that matter, the signal the two use is incompatible, and you wouldn't be able to get the PLAY:1 to connect via wifi, either.
The only way a Play 1 can pair to the TV is via a Sonos soundbar (Playbar, Beam, Playbase) either as part of a home theatre setup (for 5.0) or setup in another room and grouped.
