All of my Sonos Speakers are cool to the touch except my Sonos Beam. I was repositioning the Beam when I noticed that underneath the beam (mid left side when facing the speaker) was a bit warm. Thought maybe because I had used it recently. I checked later and the next day it still warm. I checked my Play One's and sub and they were all cool. I left the Beam idle for a whole day and it was still warm. That maybe it was Alexa Waiting for a command, Turned off the mic and removed Alexa via the app. Beam still remains warm. Is this normal, is this happening to everyone else? I've had my system for less than 2 weeks and want to make sure all is fine.
I use Sonos desktop controller a lot because I am often at my computer. My music library is located on my Synology NAS, ripped CDs in FLAC format Creating playlists from the library content seems to be be very unintuitive, requiring 4 clicks to add a track. I would like to see 3 enhancements to the desktop controller 1. Block Addition I would like to be able to carry out multiple selections from the queue and then add them to a playlist. It seems I can only add them one by one? 2. Drag and Drop Addition With a playlist open in the right panel I'd like to be able to select one or more items in the queue and drag and drop them onto the playlist to add them. I can't see any way to do that? 3. Prevent Duplicates Option Currently, if you add the same track to a playlist it creates a duplicate entry. It would be good to have a prompt "Track is already in queue. Duplicate it? Y/N"
I have had my Sonos system installed for about one month. All working as expected and I am happily showing off my system to friends. Today for the first time, my internet security software (Bitdefender Internet Protection 2019) is reporting that an Exploit attempt was blocked March 21 at 2:05 PM. Feature: Online Threat Prevention. "An SQL injection attempt was made by 10.0.0.40:1400. We blocked the connection to prevent the attacker from tampering with sensitive data" The image attached shows that 10.0.0.40 is my Sonos:One Is this a problem ? Assistance appreciated.
On Spotify, I can have a 'Crossfade' of up to 12 seconds. I hear the music blend in together with this while listening through the Spotify app. However this does not seem to carry over when listening to the same music off of my Spotify app through my Sonos players. Is there something I am doing wrong? I searched through the Sonos configuration and menu and do not see any way to do this. It is in the Spotify app though. Any thoughts?
I have a newly constructed home where 8 individual speaker wires terminate in a central closet. 4 of those wires run to the living room, 2 to MBR and 2 outside. I have no equipment at the moment other than an Echo. I saw the conversation from a year ago on a similar topic where geo8 provided advice when the user was starting with a Sonos Connect. What Sonos product, AVR, controller and wall mount speakers are recommended for this project from scratch? Please list the equipment. Many thanks!
I have two PLAY:1 speakers that I only use when I'm getting ready for work in the morning. I've noticed that they register on my router as uploading about 3 GB of data per month EACH. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen?
Recently released iOS app (10.1) crashes frequently. Something is not good, please fix. iPhone 7 (12.1.4)
Team, as we host parties and other gatherings outside I simply transport my Play 5 outdoors. Does anyone out here use an enclosure - cabinets, table, stand, for temporary outdoor use that looks neat and clean that you like? (I take it in after every event.)
Who else is getting sick and tired of constant requirement to reconfig and update Sonos Controller SW. Im a LONG TIME Sonos use, love the simplicity, but the bugginess/constant need to upgrade every time I use my Sonos is ruining my experience. Yes I've maybe 10+ devices connected but still. Who's with me?
Have a Sonos Beam, absolutely love it. When I turn the Volume from TV Speakers to External Speakers on the Samsung TV, every time I use my Logitech remote, a "Not Available" message displays, in the middle of the TV screen. I've followed the instructions to set up my remote to control the Beam volume. I've also followed the instructions here: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/2072?language=en_US and have added the beam to my MyHarmony logitech account. But, it still insists on controlling both the TV and the Beam when the volume button is pushed, which means I've had to resort to keeping the TV speakers on low, which really makes the sound quality of the Beam diminish. I've even tried plugging in headphones in the audio jack, only to realize that it plays through both the audio out jack and the TV. :-/ In the MyHarmony app, there doesn't seem to be any way to prevent it from controlling the TV volume. I've read tons of forums on this and short of unscrewing the back of th
It would be great if Sonos could produce a stand alone, powerful waterproof outdoor speaker, which like the rest of their products, you just plug in and it connects via your wifi to your stable of Sonos speakers within your household. You just add them as another room i.e garden, or patio; or pool. Even though Sonos have recently partnered with a manufacturer of outdoor speakers, these units are not without their drawbacks. For them to link into your Sonos network they have to be connected (hardwired) either through a Sonos connect or a Sonos amp ( or another amp). Not only do you have to buy a connect or an amp if you don't have one, which I don't, it also can be expensive and or difficult hard connecting your outdoor speakers to these units. Adding the cost of installation, the cost of a connect or an amp, and the cost of speakers, make connecting an outside room, or rooms, to your Sonos stable of speakers prohibitively expensive. Not to mention the fact that it seems to run
I have seen the posts stating that the only workaround is setting an alarm with a silent .mp3 playing at a volume of preference. Is there any other option, and is Sonos considering a setting to assign a default volume when starting up, and/or increasing volume setting when starting? Thanks!
Hello everyone, I'm new here and this is my first post. I will be purchasing a Sonos Beam in the near future with plans of building a 5.1 system (though I wish Sonos offered a 7.1). I will be building my system in steps ans wondering after getting the Beam should I go for sorrounds next or for the sub. Eventually I'll have both but in the meantime which would I benefit from more? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
I'm looking for a wireless multi room setup in a retail environment and could use some advice. There are two adjacent rooms, one is 27' x 25' and the other is 12' x 25'. The ceilings are 9'8" high and the rooms are connected by a 6' doorway. I'll be using Spotify to play ambient background music and occasionally be playing audio from short promo videos on a TV in the store. LARGE ROOM Would you recommend two Sonos Play:5s, or four Sonos Ones? What kind of square footage coverage can I expect from each speaker? SMALL ROOM Would you recommend two Sonos Ones or a single Play:5? TV How can I connect the audio from the TV into the Sonos ecosystem? If I place one of the Play:5s near the TV and ran a 35mm audio cable to it, can I switch the the TV audio input on and off though the Sonos app? Or is there an affordable way to connect it wirelessly? BTW, I haven't bought the TV yet, so if there is a built in audio feature I should look for to achieve this, please let me know.
I was hoping for implementation of support for Apple Touch Bar but did not see this, yet. I'd like to make the wish that basic play, stop and volume function be made available via Apple Touch Bar. Thanks.
Is anyone else having issues recently with adding music services? I’ve tried to add a few like QOBUZ and Audible. I can log into the services to pair but after I return to SONOS there is an error that the service couldn’t be added.
Playing music used to be an enjoyable experience before I got a Sonos system. I now spend more time trying to get Sonos to work than listening to music. I'm sick to death of it losing my speakers, my music library, stopping and starting when it does occasionally work and generally wasting my time. I plan to rip it all out and toss it in the trash!
Recently I've noticed that my phone (android) no longer reconnects to Sonos when in range. (eg, when I come back home). I noticed it a couple of updates ago, hoping it would be fixed, but not yet - hence the post: Basically, in the past, with the android app, the controls are persistently in the notification area (or the lock screen), allowing you to control the speakers as expected. Even if you went out of range, it would pick up where you left off when returning home. Not any more. Now you have to load up the app back up each time to get the controls to show up in the notification area. Very annoying. Sonos Bridge, 2x Play1, 1x Play3 Sony Xperia Z5 compact Everything is up to date. I've tried a reinstall, and resetting my Sonos set up. Anyone else experiencing this?
I am reading a lot about the Play 3 vs the Play 5 in terms of sound quality and user experience. I have read the Play 3s are great, and a little disappointment with the Play 5. I also want to include a sub. For the money and such, which is a better buy? 2 Play 3 or 2 Play 5 with sub? This might seem like a dumb question but i am getting the impression that i can buy 2 Play 3s for the price of 1 Play 5 and, with a sub, get better bass and enjoyment from the 2 Play 3s. Any help? Also, can i connect 2 wireless routers on one network for my single modem and stick a Sonos Boost in a room with a wireless router but no modem? Only 1 model will be used. Thank you.
Has anyone tried the outdoor enclosure for Connect:AMP made by Altelix? It seems to be just the solution I’m looking for but I can’t find any reviews and it’s not inexpensive. I need a waterproof (rain, NEMA 12) enclosure which this seems to be but this particular model is apparently not NEMA rated: https://www.altelix.com/Outdoor-SONOS-Connect-Amp-Enclosure-p/nps17.htm
The FCC just posted details of the IKEA lamp/speaker, confirming it is based on the Play:1. Pictures are embargoed until August 1st. Details contained in https://fccid.io/SBVRM007/Letter/C2PC-Letter-4233884
Sonos Vs IKEA image.... Do you think they go well together? I own products from both companies, however the reason I purchase from IKEA is very different to what I'm looking to when buying from a company like Sonos. In my mind IKEA is cheap, need some bedroom furniture for the kids. Sonos I consider a premium product that will last me a lifetime.... In my head the two don't go together and even if it was the same product inside the speaker case, I'd never buy it if it had IKEA stuck on the outside. Perhaps I sound snobby.
I don't have a decent space for a playbar and beam and wanted to know if I can make the following set up work for surround sound with my TV? 2 Sonos Play 1 front left and front right (head level on stands) 2 Sonos Play 2 rear left and right (high on the wall) Sub I do also have a Sonos Amp (the new one) which drives my outdoor speakers. In an ideal world I would make the above work. Thanks for any input
Anybody have thoughts on how you will be able to select radio stations using the Alexa integration? In the US all stations have a unique 4 letter call sign so you can say exactly what station you want to hear but if you wanted to listen to say 98FM in Dublin what could you say to ensure you get that station and not some other location that transmits at 98FM?
Is there a fix coming for this? Takes extended period of time to get menus up and refresh queue, etc.
