I hooked up a Beam to my television today and, although the beam works fine with the television, I cannot link my two Sonos One speakers to provide left and right surround sound channels. When using surround sound set up, the speakers cannot be found and eventually a message is displayed "There was a problem adding the surround speaker”. I have tried various configuration changes and also resetting the ones several times but to no avail. Both Sonos One speakers work fine on their own or as a stereo pair.
Hi everyone! My setup is as follows- Arc → 2019 Samsung Q90R ← AppleTV/Philips Hue Syncbox I’m aware that there are 2 versions of Atmos (dd+ vs TrueHD) and that dd+ will work with my ARC TV (it doesn’t have eARC...yet). The native Netflix/Prime apps on my TV allow for Atmos via dd+. My issue is that I want to use my AppleTV 4K with Dolby Atmos, which apparently isn’t supported with my set up. Apple support said that the AppleTV needs to be directly plugged into the Sonos Arc, which isn’t possible because the Arc only has 1x HDMI port. I think this has to do with an inability to passthrough (possibly something to do with something called LPMC?). I was wondering if anyone had any work arounds to the above that allowed for Dolby Atmos via AppleTV I heard a AVForums podcast, where a Samsung rep said that my TV would get a firmware upgrade to include eARC “soon.” Would this change my TV’s ability to passthrough Dolby Atmos between my system? I read somewhere that AppleTV uses some “MAT
Just checking - currently using S1 software. Is there any way of getting rid of the Sonos Radio icon? I’ll never use it and pressing it just goes to a sign-up screen.
I currently have a Sonos Connect conencted to my receiver and powering a Sub, front speaker and 4 in-ceiling speakers for surround sound.I would like to upgrade my front speaker to the ARC and add a Sonos Sub and retain the connect to power the in-ceiling speakers as surrounds, trying to figure out if this is possible?Spoke to Sonos Support and was quite a frustrating experience so hoping i can find answers here, Suport mentioned this will only work if either the port/connect or ARC are Hard wired which is not an options due to location.I am also fine to upgrade to a Sonos Port if needed even though the Connect works via the S2 App, jsut want to make sure this is possible prior to purchasing.
Ever since I had my playbase (2 years now) it has intermittently cut out the sound from my LG 850 TV connected to the playbase from Optical cable. I have finally had enough and ran a diagnostic when it did it just now…Diagnostic code: 1271484801 Can anyone who has experienced similar and solved it give me any hints? There is no rhyme nor reason why it should occur as randomly as it does. I first thought it occurred more when the TV was streaming but now it seems to do it as much when using Sky (although all go through the TV to the playbase anyway)
Is there any way to enhance the Dolby experience with the Arc? I have a Sony 65 OLED A8H tv, the arc, gen 2 sub and 2 ones as surrounds.
Finally got Sonos ARC yesterday and installed it. Connected it to Sony x900h and apps thru Apple TV 4k connected to the TV and eARC is working fine as i can hear sound all good there.I am trying to see Atmos being played and while googling it says i should be able to see Atmos in the App when the content is playing.I choose the latest movie Mulan (Atmos is available for that movie) for test from Disney + app playing from Apple TV and don't see the Atmos, not sure if i am doing some thing wrong in setup in the Sony TV or Sonos ARC? Any recommendation here?
What are the best settings please for the arc, sub and 2 x one's in a relatively small room? The left rear one is closer to the sofa than the right one. I have been struggling with voices being low and action noises too loud, seem to be getting better the more the arc is used strangely. Current settings are:Eq bass 0Eq treble -2Loud, nightmode, speech enhancement offSurround audio TV +3Music +3Music playback fullLeft surround less than 2 ftRight surround 2 to feetSub -6Volume limit offI did try trueplay but found it actually made everything much worse so turned it off.Any further suggestions? I have only just added the 2 x one's so still tweaking things.
I have a Beam surround sound system in one room (the Cosy) and an Arc surround system in a different room (the Lounge). Both are identical in that they have One SL surrounds and Gen 3 subs. Both systems were bought within a couple of months of each other. When looking at the speakers in the ‘about my system’ page in settings, the speakers in the Cosy are all listed as [Speaker type] Cosy (e.g. Sub: Cosy), including the surrounds and the Sub.But for the Lounge the sub is showing differently. Instead of ‘Sub:Lounge’ is is reporting it as Sub:Sub. The Arc and two One SLs are showing as ‘Lounge’. Both systems work fine, and show up as properly grouped in both the room selection page and the room list in the main setting page. The controls also work as they should i.e. the sub can be adjusted as part of the surround set up in the lounge. Is this an indiosyncracy of how the Arc groups with a sub in a surround set up, or is there a glitch in my system? For info, I am using Sonosnet (ie the
I’ve tried searching the forum but can’t find a solution. Our Samsung Q75T TV currently feeds our Sonos Beam via the HDMI-ARC socket on the TV. I need to extract the audio from this feed so that I can drive a pair of headphones at the same time as feeding the Beam. The extraction can either be analogue or digital. Is there a gadget that I can insert thus ?Samsung Q75T. > HDMI > gadget > HDMI > BeamTIA
Hi all,I installed the sonos amp and two wireless SL backspeakers.Installation went smooth! Now when I test a clip from YT on my television the back speakers are still played through the front left and right from the Sonos AMP.I think this is YT, only playing stereo? My tv detects the home surround system, and seems to work.Is there any way to test it with a sonos app/ something to check if all channels are ok? Thanks!
If I set my blu ray player to decode DTS and output LPCM to my television that has EARC, and set my television to pass through audio to the Arc, will the audio sound as good as if the Arc decoded the DTS format? Will every speaker on the Arc, with the exception of the up firing drivers produce sound?
Hi! New owner introduced to the Sonos family as of this weekend, picked up a pair of One SL’s to be used in the garage. Previously I’ve been an all HomePod guy. So here is my issue, and let me know if this is simply just not a feature of non-Apple speakers via AirPlay. With my HomePods, I have each designated to specific rooms - and to play I hit the AirPlay button, scroll to select desired room, browse music and play. By this method, all sound is completely separated from my phone, IE: if I wanted to pull up YouTube the sound will go through my phone and the music will be uninterrupted on the speakers. Also, adjusting my phones volume with the buttons will do just that, adjust my phones volume and not the speaker volume. I figured this would be exactly how it would work on a non-Apple speaker when connected to HomeKit. To my dismay, my ‘Garage’ room completely disappeared from the AirPlay toggle once I removed my HomePod from that room and added the two Sonos One’s. The only way
Similar to other discussions, had been using Sonos 1 with no issues.Sonos 2 app on Windows different story, service fails to start/process crashes etc.None of the “uninstall and re-install” stuff works.By looking at the event logs, decided to look at the cases of the exception being thrown with other products. In my case, changing the colour management settings resolved my issue.Having spent a while looking, may be worth Sonos Dev/support writing a better “how to” set of trouble shooting steps than seem to be available.Hopefully, this may help others.https://localjoost.github.io/Crash-in-image-creation-at-System.Windows.Media.Imaging.ColorConvertedBitmap.FinalizeCreation/ Application: Sonos.exeFramework Version: v4.0.30319Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.Exception Info: System.ArithmeticExceptionException Info: System.OverflowException at System.Windows.Media.Imaging.ColorConvertedBitmap.FinalizeCreation() at System.Windows.Media.Imaging.ColorCo
I know there is a lot of discussion on using HDMI extenders to get TV audio as an input. I’m having some difficulty. Here’s my current setup: Samsung TV → optical → SPDIF converter* → RCA → RCA to Cat6 adapter → Cat6** → Cat6 to RCA adapter → Sonos AMP*https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DZXWHJA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1**cat6 cable is the 40 foot cable that runs from back of TV to sonos AMPO This setup works fine, except the volume control is only available via my sonos app on my phone, not my TV remote and I want to improve that. I then went and purchased this from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08KFMVLQB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1and connected it, but found that while the Samsung TV recognized the HDMI as a speaker output, the sonos app failed when I try and test the CEC for the TV setup. I then read the site here and realized I needed a CEC pass thru, which this item didn’t have in the specs. So I retur
Hi: Thanks for any insight.I am looking to upgrade my receiver.I am looking for confirmation on what the difference might be for a “Works with Sonos” certification for something like an ONKYO vs. a receiver that doesn’t have that distinction i.e. a Denon …If I purchase along with a new Sonos port, will both systems be able to join my existing Sonos network? Is the difference that I would be able to power on and control the volume of the Onkyo receiver via the Sonos app and with a Denon, I would need to power on and control volume outside of the Sonos app? Thanks for any help with anyones experience with Sonos port and or those who have a receiver that includes the “works with Sonos” distinction. Also, is the port way better than Sonos connect or will both do a similar job.
Can anyone define “Drivers” in the specs for the Arc? In other words, I would like to replicate a 3 Ch sound from the Arc and then add two Play 1 in the rear to complete the surround. I’m pretty tech savvy but I’m thrown off by “drivers” versus channels. Can anyone offer some feedback? I’m not even convinced I would even need the rear Play 1 in the same room.My other question is:My main TV is 65” but I plan to replace that with a 70”-75” at some point. In terms of “power” and sound quality, I’m trying to compare the Arc versus the Beam. I see the recommended sizes of TV for each device but I’m curious to see if anyone has those circumstances. If sound quality isn’t affected, then it’s a no brainer to go with the lower cost device (Beam) in my case. If anyone has any thoughts on these topics I would love to hear your feedback! Thank you!
I’d love to either save Brittany Howards playlist or save the station - is either possible?
When I use the Bluetooth connection for my MOVE it’s volume is half what it is with wiFi music. I’ve tried turning the speaker up all the way over wiFi before I switch th Bluetooth and max out the volume on my MacBook as well. I bought the move specifically for outdoor movies and I’m really disappointed with the lack of volume.

Hi there. I have two sonos one SL speakers in my kitchen which I have paired and work well. My kitchen is 9m x 3m with the speakers positioned at each end of the room. I am thinking about adding a further speaker to the set up and am wondering whether a Five or a Sub would be the best next speaker to add? Any advice would be appreciated.
What’s the current position re trade up?For example, as I understand it the unit no longer gets bricked, can continue to be used and can even be sold.If so, what is the downside? i.e. if the discount simply sits there forever and the kit works exactly the same, then why wouldn’t everyone trigger a trade-up for every piece of kit ‘just in case’?Or am I missing something?
i just submitted diagnostics 1953926018. VERY frustrated Sonos customer here. After 2 years of perfect connectivity and NO changes to my ISP, router or speakers, now sonos drops every few minutes and intermittently loses speakers, all Play 1. This only started after the S2 controller app update. NOTHING ELSE CHANGED. I was on CS chat for over 50 min this am, case #02469027 and we tried everything, no luck. They won't eacalate until i do this all over again but via phone. What a waste of time when NOTHING changed on my end. I now have 100s of dollars in speakers that won't play. What is Sonos doing to correct??
I am thinking of replacing a ZP80 which is currently connected to a Yamaha DSP AX763 amp This provides surround sound to 5 wired speakers & Sub, with connections to a DVD Player and an LG Smart TV with an optical connection.I’ve read on here that the Sonos Port is the replacement, but also read reviews how poor it is in sound quality compared to the Sonos Amp. Questions - are the reports right on the Port?If I replaced the Zp80 with a Port would I still be able to still use all the current connections?Would I be better with the Amp and could it replace the Yamaha ?As you may guess confusion reignsThanks - David
Hi all, I just spend several hours reading the several discussions about the bugs create by the android 10 Release.I’m using several samsung phones which are not able anymore to found my Sonos system.System a boost and 4 old play one. I’m not able to connect it anymore via the boost to my phone.(yes IO restarted all the system , the router , the app, the phone , and no it did not fix the issue….)Funny point on my ‘old’ Samsung phone under Android 8 it is still working. So it seems that on top of Sonos issue with the I-phone OS, you also have issue with Android 10 . Is there a fix foreseen as the problem with the latest android OD as it seems not linked to the phone manufacturer (several of them are impacted according to the forum .
