LMS offers some interesting features which you can use alongside the standard Sonos setup. Using LMS requires that you install the server software on a networked device (eg. a PC running Windows, iOS, or Linux, and even some NAS) - a popular choice is the Raspbery Pi (even including the ultra-cheap Pi Zero at 20 USD). Installing the software is a task for an average user (and is largely accomplished via a web-browser interface). Once installed, Sonos devices are seen by LMS as squeezebox players, and have full access to all the features which the server software offers. Why might you consider this as an addition to your Sonos system? Here are some pros: LMS is complementary to the native Sonos setup. You do not lose any Sonos features. LMS is multi-platform. Media control is also multi-platform (via web--browser access). Apps are also available for both Android and iOS (either free or at low cost. Since you can’t choose the order that your streaming services are listed, the next best alternative is to just go to the Browse page where they are listed and then hit the star icon at the bottom of the page. That’ll take you to My Sonos where your most Recently Played places are. I listen to SiriusXM a lot and so it’ll show the channels that I’ve recently listened to.
Hi, probably an answered question but I can’t find the solution. I mainly listen to Sonos via my computer where I have a ton of saved playlists. If I open the phone app, there are zero saved anything. Thoughts?Thank you.
Hello everyone !I’m an owner of a sonos move and since the beginning I have my device which comes out of sleep by tself, at the beginning I thought that it was only when someone in the house open the Sonos app but I realized that even in the bluetooth mode it comes out of sleep during the night.Do some of you have the same issue ? Thankyou for you anwers, bye !
I had started using the Sonos Alarm feature. It never worked properly as often the Sono beep was playing instead of a song, sometimes the controls from the notified were not working unless I was first opening the Sonos App etc... Despite this it was at least somewhat working even if this is not the experiences you'd expect from a product like Sonos that it is not famous for being cheap. The newest issue, however, is that apparently after some updates the notifications on lock screen and on the main screen are completely gone. It is not possible to snooze or dismiss the alar. Anymore. The only notification present displays the Sonos controls as if I was simply playing music (play, pause, next, etc...) Would there be any issue sending a variable level input into the Amp? I’d like to hook up a pre-amp to be able to select among several source components (CD/vinyl/tape), keep the Amp itself at a fixed volume level, and control volume with the pre-amp physical control rather than the Sonos app.Related to that, does the Amp maintain separate volume levels for the RCA and HDMI inputs? I’d like to hook up a TV directly to the Amp as well; would changing the TV volume effect the volume level that I’d set for the RCA input? In other words, assuming the above pre-amp scenario works, would I need to adjust the Amp volume every time I switched from HDMI to RCA? Or would the Amp remember the last-used RCA volume setting? Thanks!
One thing that i do not get is. With the amp you can use exciting speakers to make a 4.1 setup. But even just with the general setup of aps. I do not get why they have not implemented the ability to add a physical center channel either via a new amp which has a dedicated center channel or as par of the app just like you add a sorround you should be able to add a center which could be something like (Play:3, sonos beam, play 5 and more i am sure)
Hi folks,I hope you are well.Any plan to implement WPA-E in the near future? My Sonos Move is waiting for it :) And in terms of security and compatibility, that would be definitely an improvement.I hope this will happen, sooner or later. Thanks for your supportAndrea
It is really unbelievable that Sonos dares to force customers who bought products for thousands of euros to share location when one needs to add Sonos to a new WiFi router. I have bought the products when the terms were not as such, I find this disgusting. For me this is a reason to sell the products and look for alternatives.Customers should not accept suppliers become big brothers, or data gathering companies. Ok, when the product is cheap or for free, then it is understandable. But not for expensive products like Sonos.
I would like to have the info popup’s disappear quicker as they sit there for a good 5 seconds and you can't change the volume while they are active. Has anyone else experienced this? I was thinking they are no longer required after you have experienced Turning them on and off a few times. We all know what the buttons do after the first time using it and not being able to turn down the volume for what seems like ages while it blasts through the house is a total PITA. Maybe SONOS can put this in a future update of the app? Cheers 🍻
Customer suggested adding the ability to bond a SUB with 2 different Sonos devices.
So it looks like actual Roam units are now available and have been sent to reviewers:https://www.theverge.com/22368487/sonos-roam-bluetooth-speaker-review-featureshttps://www.engadget.com/sonos-roam-review-130039811.htmlGenerally positive reviews.Maybe preorders will ship soon since they clearly got a bunch from the factory.
There are a few things which need to be added to this app immediately (read on for my questions): First, different model speakers need to be able to be grouped in the same room. Sonos apparently claims that this is to prevent sound quality issues. We have some rooms with multiple of the same speaker and some rooms with multiple of different speakers and the sound quality difference that I can discern is precisely zero. Context - we have on the third floor a large room multiple play1 speakers. To stream directly to that room, I added a sonos one (which you have to do, because the system won’t allow you to stream directly to a play1). To my utter annoyance, you can’t pair these two different types of speakers to work together. So is it because of sound quality issues or just because sonos hasn’t bothered? If it is because of some imperceptible phantom drop in sound quality, allow me to confirm after exactly no market research that no one cares about that s***. Second, there needs t
Hi all,I’m new to Sonos and have recently bought the surround package with the Arc, One SLs and Sub v3. I’m enjoying it however becoming frustrated as the entire system disconnects on a weekly basis. Following the usual switch it all off, leave it for a bit and switch it back on does work, it a week later, it’s disconnected again. I don’t have issues with any other of my contraptions disconnecting from the WiFi, only the Sonos kit. Any help is appreciated.
I'd love some Sonos planning advice. I have a Beam and two ikea speakers for the TV room and they work great. I would like to extend the sound into the outside this summer around the patio and pool area. In the past I had put a bunch of Alexa devices around and put them in a group - and put an alexa in the tv room with an input to the beam in the same group for music everywhere. To move my Sonos outside for the summer I could get 4 Sonos outdoor speakers ($2K) and amp ($800) plus wiring (not good) and still missing voice commands. I am wondering if getting 4 Sonos Roams ($920), keeping them plugged in and mounted is a good option. Can I put them in a group together, and then use the Alexa function from anywhere to play Spotify/Tunein etc. Also like Airplay/Bluetooth option if I can then play the connection on all four Roam speakers?I assume I could play outside as well as both inside/outside together. Would Alexa play nice with multiple Roam devices?Any other ideas/advice? Goal is to wa
5.1 Playbar Sub 2xPlay3 S2 Nvidia Shield 2019When watching Stereo PCM via Nvidia Shield (IPTV, Tidal, Netflix etc) I get Stereo Upmix on my surround speakers (Play3s), but when watching SOME STREAMS on Twitch (also stereo PCM via Shield) I don't get no Sound on my Play3s. Some other Twitch Streams (also Stereo PCM) play the sound as expected on the Play3s. What is Twitch doing different about Stereo? Thanks!
Hi, I have a Sonos Move. I’ve noticed when I turn the volume up to 58% The low-end cuts out completely and it only plays through its tweeter.. it also will randomly make sounds like it’s clipping about 55% as well.. has anyone experienced problems like this with their move, and do you know of a fix?
Hi guys. I have a Sonos Beam and I'm planning to purchase either the Sony XH90 (X900H in USA) 75'' or a LG CX 65''.My worry is that the Sonos Beam used to give me sound lag with my PS4 and my old Panasonic Viera, which I solved with a switch that allowed me to connect the PS4 via optical and the TV via HDMI. However, this won't be a solution anymore, as I sold my PS4 and I'm hoping to receive my PS5 this week, which does not have an optical out.I think I've read somewhere that with the LG CX this is not a problem as there's some "passthrough" option which solves this issue. Does anyone have a PS4/5, the Beam and the Sony TV who can comment of any sound lags issues and solutions? Thanks a lot.
I have a Sonos AMP connected to an in ceiling speaker in the Master Bathroom. I wanted more power and sound out of it as it gets drowned out by the shower running. I put up 2 Sonos Ones. The option is for surround sound, but now the surround sound base doesn’t make it sound as clear. It sounds heavier base, like the volume from the surround is stronger than the main AMP in Ceiling speaker. So my thought was to have 3 speakers - like a center, and 2 bookshelfs. Is there a way to create 3 speakers (and not surround speakers) so its the same quality that can produce higher volume and sound? I would prefer not to have the speakers listed as 2 rooms in my app to get that result, or should I just deal with it? I probably should have just put in 2 ceiling speakers but this is where I am at. I can adjust - most important to me is the quality of the sound and not the cost.
Morning everyone,For a few years I’ve had a Sonos device in my kitchen, that has been monitored by a script on a Raspberry Pi. If the Sonos is playing, it turns the amp on & sets the input etc.If someone turns the TV on, that overrules Sonos and sets the amp accordingly. This morning, Sonos was playing as usual - but the amp wasnt.A bit of digging and it looks like my Sonos had an update (now on S1 / 11.2.7) and the info that was used by my script (http://w.x.y.z:1400/MediaRenderer/AVTransport/Control) is no longer available.I tried https to 1443 with the same path and that fails with the same UPnP 401 error. Is there somewhere else I can pull the current status from via a url or similar? Thanks
Hi,Trying to get help with adding Sonos one to the app. I have already added arc + sub + Sonos on Sl- but I’m trying to add my second one Sl and keep giving me the message “your Sonos one Sl has been added, but may not appear on the system tab, if so unplug the power cord and plug it back in to finish setup from the system tab” I’ve disconnected and reconnected, reset it at least 5 times, even tried to connect using a hard wire to the router (even though the actual router is only 15 cm) just in case it helps - but for what ever reason it doesn’t appear on the Sonos app (with the hope of getting the surround sound sorted). I submitted diagnostic (no 1745441989). now, just as I was writing this it did recognise this eventually but now now when I go to set up the surround sound the error message “there was an problem adding your surrounds. Cheack your network connection and make sure your products are powered on” which I can confirm they are all working individually on the network. Again
Hello all, I’ve been looking through many different threads and trying to compile information, could someone please reply if this is correct, as I suspect at least some of this is not accurate. I’m currently looking to begin my outdoor landscaping project and that comes with installing my outdoor speakers. There is no doubt these speakers will tie in to my home system as it currently has 9 amps. 2 arcs, and a port powering various different areas throughout my home. That being said I am tossed up and quite frankly not educated enough to make the right decision. Best Buy is currently packaging and selling the Sonance MAG series with an Amp at some pretty great prices. My confusion comes with the pricing. To the naked eye, the Mag 4.1 system and amp is $2,700 while the 6.1 system is $1,500. My fear comes that the power on the 6.1 will not be sufficient and being that the yard is very large, and there are no neighbors nearby, I want some good volume. The 4.1 system is rated for 250W @ 8 ohms while the 6.1 is 150W @ 5ohms. Can someone shed any light and knowledge on this for me? Which is the best system for me? Should I forgo the amp and use a port with a more powerful amplifier?
Good watch, pretty much nailed it on the head of what I would like to see introduced this year. Sony is offering a new subscription-based streaming service “Bravia Core” with the purchase of its new 2021 Sony XL tvs providing access to its titles in up to 4k HDR quality. I like the fact the emphasis is on getting the best video quality possible (“streaming at up to 80 Mbps, delivering lossless 4K UHD”). And for a limited time (promotion ends February 23, 2022), it will be free when you purchase one of the eligible tvs.https://www.sony.com/electronics/bravia-coreHere’s the wrinkle: It features an IMAX® Enhanced collection, which will be optimized for BRAVIA XR, and will deliver the remastered IMAX® picture and immersive sound in DTS.DTS is also noted as the sound format used for the service in the following article:https://www.tomsguide.com/news/sony-bravia-core-what-you-need-to-know-about-sonys-new-streaming-serviceSigh. It will never end, will it? 😂
