The Spotify-integration with Philips Hue also works when playing Spotify on Sonos!Take a look at my set up: YouTube: 20210907 Spotify integratie Philips Hue & SonosProbably not the easiest music to synchronize with, but it does look fairly good!
I have no experience with Sonos, but i think this is the best choice.Building new house, at first I need some basic knowledge (minimum setup in al rooms) to be able to discuss further. In living room will be TV and projector with free-standing two stereo speakers. Sonos as a cinema system (in wall or ceiling).Depending on the specifics of the object, there can be no cables from house to outdoors (to second floor jacuzzy zone or fireplace zone, steam house). All equipment is planned in technical room no 11.Proposals can be drawn by hand (easer to understand for me), with the SONOS equipment layouts /schemes. The area in square meters is indicated next to the rooms numbers. The first floor from one side to the other is 26 meters horizontally and 23 meters vertically. How many speakers does the average Sonos user have? Are most people just buying one unit and using it for everything in their apartment and maybe getting a Roam for on-the-go experiences? Do most people buy a stereo pair or surround sound set-up and then keep growing their ecosystem? Right now, I own one Sonos unit and would love to eventually get a sound bar and enhance my home theater with a surround system.
I’m trying to figure out whether to rip lossless or not and wanted to do an a-b comparison of the same track recorded at different rates. But I have to distinguish the tracks in some way. I tried editing composer tag using Windows Medial Player and then rebuilt my Sonos library, but it still shows only Beethoven, not Beethovenb, the edit I had done. So how to I distinguish two rips from the same track so I can play the different versions, either through editing tags or some other means? Thank you.
I'm thinking about buying Sonos Arc, I don't have that much money but I wanted to invest in it, I saw some videos, and they say that with two more OneSL the Arc's sound doubles (at least in music), is it true? and is it worth buying these SLs? (I already have a play:1, is it worth buying the second one instead of the two Sls?)Or should I wait a little longer and buy the set with the Sls and the sub?And by the way, is the Sonos Amp worth it for this surround?
Another completely random and inexplicable fail. Have had a Sonos Playbase for about three years now. It’s been set up under the LG Oled TV all that time and has worked fine – remote paired (eventually) and all functioned as expected. However, suddenly, the remote will no longer control the TV’s volume. I’ve searched everywhere for similar issues, but to no avail. I thought a simple workaround would be to unpair the remote and set it up again, but instructions on how to do that are impossible to come by. There’s nothing in the LG audio settings or Sonos app that has changed, nor anything that seems likely to solve the issue.I’ve tried the classic unplug, wait and reboot method. Again, nothing. So I’m forced to use the TV’s internal speaker, not what I expected when I spent 800 euros on a Playbase. Any suggestions gratefully received.
Would you prefer to have a stereo-pair of Sonos for gaming or use a headset? Anyone using Sonos for virtual reality yet?
I want to play anything I have connected to my Arcam Solo Movie on my Sonos network. Is this possible? I assume I’d need a Sonos Port? What connections would I need?I assume this would also allow me to play streamed music etc from Sonos app on/through my Arcam/wired speakers?I’ve seen lots of articles about connecting a turntable to the Port but that’s not what I’m looking for.
Recommendation for a dedicated Sonos remote: My favorite CR200 is dying, dead spots on screen and probably not worth buying a used one. I want to find a device (small) to use as a dedicated remote, I play mostly from Amazon and do have a small favorite list, also play a lot from the SonosTube app. Don’t have a smartphone I could use for this and don’t want to use my iPad pro as well (too big to carry around 12.9). Looking for maybe an Android based OS hopefully can use as a remote, what I don’t know is minimum version of android I would need. iPhone too expensive just to buy and use as a dedicated remote, recommended please.
I’m considering whether Sonos amp will be the correct solution for my setup. I have playbar and sub in my living room. I also have in ceiling surround speakers that I would like to use rather than my play 1’s. I also have in ceiling speakers on my patio. I have a selector switch in the wall to toggle between the indoor and outdoor ceiling speakers. Is it possible to setup Sonos amp so that I can use the living room ceiling speakers as surround when watching tv, but disconnect from home theater and operate as stereo pair when I only want to listen to music outside on my patio without having all of the theater speakers on inside?
“Best way”, not “desk way”! can't see how to edit that so….Hi there,After some setup advice.I bought I record player, which I connect via a pre-amp to a Sonos AMP.I don't have any speakers attached to the amp. I group it with my Arc + L/R ones and Sub for the sound. This is working ok, but the base levels from the vinyl is nowhere near as meaty as my TV / digital music sound.I like some healthy base, but I don’t want to keep turning it up/down every time I move from the deck to TV etc.I’d also be interested if there is a smarter way to group or set this all up.Any thoughts welcome (but I'd like to avoid buying anything else!)
I am struggling mightily to figure out how to get audio to my new home theatre setup. My old setup worked perfectly. I hardline connected an old Gen appletv to the playbar via digital optical. The playbar grouped wirelessly with my play 1 speakers and my sub. I hardline connected my Apple TV to my hdmi wireless transmitter which sent the video image up to my projector. The issue with my new setup is that the new appletv does not include digital optical. So I do not know how to get sound to run through my Sonos speakers. I upgraded to the new Apple TV because I’m using YouTube tv streaming service. Do you have any solutions to this problem? I see a number of people who ask basically the same question. With the myriad of updates we’ve gotten, the dev team at Sonos can’t figure out how to add a sort option to the playlists? This seems so plebian and basic, it’s difficult to understand why it still hasn’t been done. Leads me to believe they give us this “community” and then pay zero attention to it. Oh, and yesterday I tried to search within my playlist for a song and it went out into Apple Music and wasn’t even remotely what I wanted to do. I wonder if anyone on the Sonos dev team actually uses the app?
I’m have a problem with a Sonos ARC, it disconnects from the Sub and Surrounds when the audio input becomes active (TV, BD Player turned on). It will reconnect to the Sub and Surrounds after all Sonos components are power cycled. It will stay connected to the Sub and Surrounds as long as the audio input stays active, but if the audio input becomes inactive and then active again it disconnects from the Sub and Surrounds. It does not matter if I use eArc or the optical audio from my TV or directly from a BD player. The only thing that seams to fix the problem is to wire all the Sonos components together. But it’s not an RF interference problem because once I get the ARC, Sub and Surround to work when the TV is on, they keep working until the TV is turned off and then back on. I didn’t have a problem a month ago but there was a firmware upgrade I think broke the system. My setup has to be wireless to separate the surrounds. Does anyone have a fix?
Roam needs a software option to NOT turn on automatically when it senses a SONOS system. If unplugged and being used within the home, it is constantly draining the devices battery which negates the entire purpose (and name) of this “mobile” speaker. Can anyone @ SONOS speak to software updates in the works that address this issue?
i have an arc and 2 one sl for rear i also have 2 stereo pair ones on the front i was wondering if it can be added to the arc as in guess 7.1 i was told is not available but would it be some day as a software update? as of now i use it as sync but the volume is only through the app so it can be at the same level if use it through the tv only the arc and surrounds functions is there any setup to control them synced through the tv remote as the arc and its surrounds?
I have a 5 year old macbook pro, the speakers are bad.I bought Wonderboom that I connect via bluetooth to improve the sound and it works ok but the Wonderboom disconnects freqently.I’m looking for better system and bought a small Bose. I need to delete and recreate the bluetooth connection every time I turn it on. It’s too much hastle for daily use.I looked at the B&O A1 which is expensive and big but would be a nice, quality speaker.I thought the Sonos would be a good choice but discussions here suggest otherwise. I have an iphone and several macs that I would use it with, it would be nice if I could easily use either the iphone or mac depending no need. I
Hello I guess I found a new software issue with the LG C1 in relation to the Sonos Playbar. Let me explain:At first, I’ve set the Sonos Playbar up to work with the LG C1, by following the instructions. Also, I used the Sonos App to connect my LG Magic Remote with the Playbar. So far so good. The problem is, that each time I turn the TV off, the connection between the LG Magic Remote and the Playbar disappears. For example: If I try to turn the volume up, a “Mute” symbol appears on my LG C1. Also at this moment, the Playbar doesn’t react to the Magic Remote anymore. The only way, I can make it work again, is by going to the TV settings and when I click on “Sound” I change the settings from “Optical out” to “TV Speakers” and then back to “Optical Out”. Suddenly, I can turn the volume up and down again, but only for this “Session”until I turn the TV off again. I’ve conacted Sonos and LG support yesterday. They both took notes of this issue, but apparently, I am the first one who is having
Please add DatPiff.com mixtapes as a streaming service.
Hi, Setup: TV connected to Arc + 2x Sonos 1 + Sub I compared the sound via Spotify app on TV V.S. Spotify Sonos app. I noticed a huge difference. Spotify app on TV: more bass, vocal is majorly coming from Arc Spotify Sonos app: bass is more balance, vocal is from surrounding sound (2x Sonos 1) I set the music playback = Full in Sonos app. The TV is outputting PCM while streaming Spotify app, but I believe the Spotify Sonos is using PCM too.I personally prefer the sound using Spotify Sonos app. So, it is a bit annoying that I have to switch to my phone every time I listen to Spotify. Anyone knows why there is a huge difference of sound experience? Thanks
Sonos team- I’ve seen countless threads in the community over the last year of how this Snooze feature does not work. It’s clear this is a big, and as a software engineer, I can tell you this is probably the simplest bug to fix. I’m sure you have other items in the backlog, but why has this simple feature not been addressed in over a year?!?! It’s clear the community wants it, and it’s clear this is a major value proposition of the Sonos One SL. please reply to my post as you have not replied to anyone who is facing the same challenge. This is an awful user experience, and as a public company I expect that you address customer issues in a more customer centric way by READING THE COMMUNITY BLOG AND ACTING ON IT Thank you
Cannot connect my speakers because Sonos told me I’m in beta.
With Sonos not supporting anything other than the insecure/outdated SMB1, I feel like my love affair with Sonos has finally come to an end. After 10+ years, 10+ sonos players, and growing frustration I think Sonos doesn’t want my use-case as a user anymore. What other brands of multi-room speakers out there are worth investigating that can:• Play from my NAS (with up to date security credentials)• Not have a 64k track limit I don’t care about being able to talk to my speaker, I don’t care about streaming, I just want to listen to my personal music collection, on a network which is secure and not have to worry if I add another album that I will have to remove another from the library as it won’t fit.
hello, i am going to be purchasing In-Ceiling Speaker and Sonos AmpWhat is the max / preferred wire gauge? Thanks
Hi, I have a fairly large living room combined with dining room and kitchen, altogether about 50 square meters (530 square feet). Currently I have a Beam connected to TV. I was planning on adding surrounds and a sub, and I also wish to add a turntable at some point.First of all, is the Sub worth it in this setup? I am watching quite a lot of movies and tv shows and not listening to loud music as I have a small child.Second, as far as I understand, you cannot add the turntable to the Fives, if they are already used as surrounds, or has this changed? So I thought about two OneSLs and a Sub. And later turntable with a Five or maybe a Raspberry hack, or some other solution? In the situation of adding Five with turntable, is it possible to listen to music with one Five and a combo of Beam/SUB/OneSLs in the same room? Third, would it be a problem, if the surrounds are about 3 meters (10 feet) behind the couch, because the couch is not near wall and I don’t want to have stand with a speaker i
