Smart home integrations

i have made some applets in ifttt using sonos , working all fine ( and I can give them a name or tittle I want)...and now I see that sonos has made some applets theirselves using 2 actions together ( which we can not do on our own if we make an applet) so now I wonder if we can rename that kind of pre build applets, this woud be very handy... (I use applet thats sets volume and the choice of favourite, working fine, but i can not rename that applet or widget, so i will never know which volume and favourite are underneath the widget button)... so either we can build own applets using more then one action, or we should be able to rename the pre build sonos apllets

Love my Sonos One but didn't realize how crippled Alexa is with its routines and such. Is there any info whether the Google Assistant will also be half-working or will it have full functionality? I might have to migrate to either full Alexa or Google if that's not the case. I'm getting fed up with Sonos and the "not yet supported on this device" bs.

So if I have used the Sonos cloud API to connect my Sonos account to a 3rd party service or app, how do I revoke that permission?

I don't know how to connect my Sonos One to Siri. Opening the Home app to add an accessoryif I click "don't have a code" the choices are bridge or manual code. The directions here on this site say that the speaker will just appear and I select it, but that doesn't happen. I tried awakening the speaker too, still nothing. What do I do (no code in my sonos packaging)

AirPlay suddenly can't connect to my two Sonos One anymore. Music via Sonos library works fine, so does radio via TuneIn. Restarted both iPhone and speakers to no effect.

I have two ONES with Alexa working on them. Alexa does not control any of my smart devices it just says " sorry I didn't find a device named " my Amazon dot controls all the devices with no problem. Please guid me so I can use my ONES.

My last topic had a strange title so i try again: Hi I know that this is very new, but does any one in here have experience with a setup using a receiver with "works with sonos" I´m in the proces of buying a new receiver, and would like to get an idea of how the implementation is running.....are there any registered delays in sound, if you have the system set up with other units....is the app running smoothe with this "extension" and so on

I’ve looked through every post imaginable on this but not found a solution unfortunately but my apologies if it is out there somewhere (if so, PLEASE point me in the right direction) I just purchased a ring Video Doorbell 2. All is working great with it but I am trying to automate it so that when it is pressed a chime (preferably an mp3) plays on my Sonos speakers (Sonos 1 x 3, Sonos 3 & beam) and then resumes whatever is playing (or just plays the chime if nothing was playing at the time). I’ve got it half working through IFTTT but when it is pressed it loops the mp3 continuously (which my kids love as it was saying, “HO HO HO, Merry Christmas” over and over and over… 😃 )

Wondering if anyone can help me troubleshooting why Google Assistant doesn't control my Sonos speaker. I have linked my IFTTT account with my Sonos account. There appears to be no way of linking to Google Home or Assistant. Google reveals nothing on troubleshooting this and can find nothing in the Sonos form

I have a Sonos Playbar and a Harmony Elite Remote (with Hub). For the first few months, I had them set up normal with the Harmony Hub controlling the Playbar volume (via wifi). It worked okay, but my Harmony Hub frequently disconnects due to its own issues with Mesh Wifi networks. Obviously, if I tried to adjust the volume during a time when the hub is disconnected, it doesn't work or the volume would spike and then I wouldn't be able to turn it down without using the Sonos App. Due to this, I decided to change the Harmony settings and use "Remote Only" to control the Playbar Volume (via IR). After changing to Remote Only and updating the remote, it seemed to work great for a couple hours (without even updating Sonos remote settings in the Sonos app), but then late last night, it stopped working and kept doing the volume spike referenced above (i'd hit volume down and it would get real loud and then could only be fixed by Sonos app). Of course, this did not make my wife happy

Hi there, I have a house full of gen 1 Sonos speakers. One set is two play 1s with a sub. I'm considering getting two new Play 1s, mostly because of the Alexa and Airplay technology built in. However, I'd like to add one of them to the sub/Play 1 combo, and one paired with another first gen Play 1. In doing so, will the paired speakers still receive Alexa commands and airplay functionality? Or will only the one speaker actually play based on those commands and/or airplay? Thanks!

Hello, I have just been bought a Google Home Mini at the same time I bought the new Amazon Exho Dot 3rd Gen. The Google Home Mini looks much better for talking to but am not sure it will work for everything I have. Help appreciated before I decide which one to return. I have sonos ceiling speakers and Spotify throughout the house. Will Google Home Mini allow me to control these? Both Spotify and Apple Music? I have Sky with a Samsung TV. Will Google Home Mini allow me to control the TV or change Sky channels? I have Apple phones and MacBooks, will Google Home Mini work ok with this ecosystem? Will Google Home Mini be able to turn on/off Philips Hue light bulbs? Thanks for help with all the above - just want to make sure I keep the right one! Finally, if I bought a Sonos speaker for just anywhere in the house, will I be able to control music played on that speaker - both Apple Music and Spotify?

Hi all, So I bought a Sonos One for my kitchen in order to use Siri, Alexa and AirPlay 2. Initially I set everything up on my iPhone without a problem and have been using Siri comands to play my playlists etc. for several months. THis evening, given my iPhone was upstairs (and being in a lazy mood) I decided just to use my iPad mini 4 to do the same as my iPhone however I simply couldn’t get this to work despite being able to see the Sonos One on the Home app. Even when stood next to the Sonos One and pressed the device I simply get the message “Unable to connect to the Kitchen”. I did a little comparison for the home app on the iPad to the one iPhone and noticed the wallpapers and devices weren’t syncing. Thinking this was the issue I deleted the “My Home” from my iPhone 6S and recreated it. I also took the chance to set up my Apple TV to show on airplay and voila the iPad, iPhone and Apple TV synced up again and I felt I was one connection away from an improved home system.

I helped a friend set up their system of a Beam in the lounge and a Play 1 with an additional Echo Dot in a bedroom. Initially I had an issue with a Wi-Fi extender, where the Play 1 was connecting to it, but not able to group with the Beam. Turned off the extender and re-connected the Play 1 and grouped as expected. However, the Beam does not auto ungroup when the TV is turned on and you need to select from the App controller. Could it be something to do with the extender which is primarily for other rooms further away from the main router.

SONOS needs to embrace wider voice connection than just Amazon Music. Google Play Music allows for far more flexibility and ease of access to personal music collections. My phone does it, my SONOS should!

Selling My Speakers on ebay.....waited a year for Google on Sonos. Only reason i bought them....obviously Sonos is just another" tell them what they want to hear " sales place move the priduct..... Too bad...

I control my theater room with Demopad and it includes a Connect feeding into the system. After a lot of reading and learning and much trial and error, I've been able to build a Sonos page within Demopad using UPnP, that shows cover art, a progress bar for the current track, and a queue of the current track + the next three. It also has play, pause and track skip controls. My question - should I be trying to move across to the new API ? Will it give me more control ? Will it make things easier ? This is purely a hobby for me so forgive me if I'm misunderstanding how the new API works.

hi since a few days I always get this error message even I make some group requests; ERROR_RESOURCE_GONE Does anyone know what that means? The group is still available and I can see it with; https://api.ws.sonos.com/control/api/v1/households/HOUSEHOLDID/groups After about 10 minutes, the group can then be controlled again, without any changes ... Thank you!

So, after the latest update, Windows UPnP is not happy with the service description of the DeviceProperties service. So our driver is broken again. This has been an ongoing issue. I know there's a new API, but until it's capable of replacing the UPnP API, it's not of much use to us. Anyone else see this yet?

Can I control my Hive using Alexa on the Sonos Beam? I have my Hive connected via Ethernet to my broadband hub?

Why, oh, why does everyone seem to think that cloud based integration is a good thing? It's the worst possible scenario. You have an automation controller and some Sonos boxes right there, possibly in the same room, but we have to communicate through the entire outside world in order for them to talk to each other, and of course not talk at all if the internet connection is down. It's just ridiculous and I have to wonder if companies really understand the amount of backlash against these cloud based systems is growing out there. We, and probably every other automation controller vendor, tell clients to avoid cloud based APIs and use devices that let them maintain control of their own systems. Ask for advice on any automation related forum and experienced people will immediately tell you to avoid cloud based APIs. Maybe my tinfoil hat is too tight, but I can't help but wonder how many of these decisions are based more on data collection driven revenue potential than value for the

I have Philips Hue with Smart Bulbs throughout my home. Majority of commands for lights are given through my Sonos One's and Beam. I have a lamp on one of two night stands in bedroom that was not responding to commands. Checked the Alexa app and it showed "Light unresponsive". Quick Fix was to remove/re-install the bulb. Took all of a minute and everything was back to normal. Commands through Sonos One worked. As I said this is a quick fix and doesn't rule out a defective bulb. It wasn't Wi-Fi as the light on the opposite night stand responded to commands (besides I run in Boost mode for Sonos). Just thought I'd share the experience. Cheers!

I just added 2 Sonos One's to my Playbar with Sub as surround sound speakers (5.1 theater config). Music sound level is good but Alexa voice volumn level is too LOW! I can hardly hear her response even when I am very close to the Sonos ONE. If I touch the Sonus ONE to increase the volumn it causes all the speakers to increase in volumn (and Alexa voice volumn is still too low). Anyone having this problem and/or know a solution for it? Is there possible an issue using Sonus ONE in a surround configuration?

Hi All So HDL has the 'works with Sonos' certification; but I for the life of me can't see how it works with Sonos at all. I found a product (Iridium) that talks to Sonos, and HDL - which kind of makes the two talk - but its not HDL working with Sonos at all, more of a control platform that talks to both of them... so I assume this isnt it. Any ideas?

We install security cameras and door stations and have been very happy to see Sonos integrate with IFTTT. One thing we've been able to do is have Sonos play a doorbell sound when someone presses the doorbell button on a video door station. However, it would be nice if Sonos would resume playing whatever it was playing prior to the doorbell sound being played. The current behavior is to play the doorbell sound and then music play stops.
