Dear SonosI am using 2 Roam in stereo pair (left & right) and 1 Move in the middle for watching movies on my MacBook Pro.Unfortunately this setup is only available on WiFi and is having a 2sec sync delay when watching movies, streaming, Youtube, Netflix, etc.To fix this issue I use the Bluetooth connection from mbp to Roam and the sync is always perfect. No more sync delay!Problem is my 2 Roam cannot stereo pair (left & right) but only group when on Bluetooth. An update for Bluetooth pairing and grouping on Roam and Move would also be great to consider for outdoor, travel, vacation, work, etc. as they are meant to be used as well outside of a WiFi network, they Shouldn’t they Move and Roam around like they’re name suggest?Unfortunately only 1 speaker at a time can be used on a location out of WiFi network where Bluetooth is the only option available. The Big question a lot of Sonos fans would like to have an answer for : Are you going to update Move and Roam to make them stereo p

So basically the orange LED is flashing slowly, i tried to read thru the manual and it said the product is in too hot environment (?), my room temperature is approx. 23°C. Also the speaker is now unresponsive and wont turn on or off, nor is showing in my Sonos app anymore. Any tips for solving this? Edit: I tried to plug it into a charger but that did not help either, its completely bricked. Kinda disappointed, i was only able to use it for total of 45 minutes yesterday…Money well spent💸💸
Hi folks, I recently purchased a pair of Sonos Fives for my living room, and a Move for the rest of the house. I’m very happy with them. I have a question regarding WiFi extenders - no doubt similar to others that have been asked, but I guess everyone’s use case is slightly different. I have a downstairs gym where WiFi is patchy. If I have the Move upstairs (i.e. where connection is easy) and play something then take it downstairs, it can still remain connected to the WiFi network, but it’s patchy and often drops out. It seems harder to play something from scratch downstairs. I also have a treadmill down there which requires WiFi. This seems to work a little better, but again sometimes it’s glitchy. I’m looking for a solution which would extend WiFi connection down there reliably. Hopefully this would work for both devices - i.e. I’m not sure a Boost would do anything for my treadmill! Browsing some previous forum conversations it seems this is not completely simple. Suggestions mo
Hey there,I’m unable to pair the Roam via Bluetooth with my iPhone or iPad. When I try to follow the directions online, I only received a flashing green light and the device doesn’t show up on my phone or tablet in my Bluetooth preferences. I tried a factory reset which may have actually screwed me because I’ve read that I first need to set up the Roam when on a wifi network. I’m currently away from home which means I can’t sign into or alter my Sonos account. Am I missing something? Can’t I simply use the roam as a Bluetooth speaker (like other Bluetooth speakers) without having to log into my Sonos app? Any help appreciated!
Is it possible to use a Trueplay device (a Roam for example) to configure your wider system, rather than use an iPhone?Reason I ask is I no longer have an iPhone after I left my last job, and I use personally use Android. So I no longer have a mobile phone that works with Trueplay. (my wife still has an ancient iPhone, so can use that if I really need to). But I do have a trueplay speaker - the Roam - in the kitchen.Anyway to use the mic from the Roam to configure my Living Room set up?
I recently purchased a Roam and would like to return the unit back to the retail store. Before doing so, I would like to remove it from my set up. I saw a support article about resetting it which I followed and reset the unit successfully I think its blinking green), However, is there a way to remove it from my Sonos app on my iPhone? My understanding is that the until will not be removed from my account until someone else purchases and registers the unit. But I want to see if there is any way to remove it from my app. Also, reading the instructions from the support page (https://support.sonos.com/s/article/1096?language=en_US), it claims that the steps will “delete registration information, content saved to My Sonos, and music services from a Sonos product.” But if this is the case, why am I still seeing the unit in my app as well as my account? Please advise. K
I turned off bluetooth on my phone, which was the first device I connected Move to. I then connected via bluetooth to the Peloton bike. The connection worked immediately but within seconds Move disconnects every time.
I replaced my 1st Roam as it kept dropping off the network and it wouldn’t respond to the App. The new one keeps dropping off the network as well. I have 6 other Sonos speakers around the house that are ‘always on’ and ready to go but I’m being told to reboot the Roam (every day). Very frustrating. When I turn it off it says its ‘off line’ but when on it doesn’t appear on the App. Is this a design fault ?
I bought a Sonos roam last spring. It has never worked properly. The battery would die quickly and it would always cut in and out. The red light just stays on in the front and then when I take off charger the light goes away but nothing happens anymore.
HiI’ve noticed something quirky about the Sonos Roam. When I pair the Sonos Roam to a Nintendo Switch via bluetooth at home (in range of my home WiFi). The Roam refuses to prioritise the bluetooth audio signal over the WiFi. It eventually does swap over after 10mins or so. However when I do the same test with the Sonos Roam and an iPhone, it works fine instantly. I can’t seem to find any setting in the Sonos app to choose the audio source for the Roam either. Also when I pair the Nintendo Switch to other bluetooth devices (earphones/headphones), the audio connection works fine (so I don’t think this is an issue with the Nintendo Switch itself).Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix for this?
I noticed this morning the battery was low on the Roam (amber status light), so placed it on the Sonos charging base. Just noticed the base itself has a flashing red light on front. Does anyone know what this means please?
Hello,Just bought a wireless charger for the Sonos Roam and it isn't long enough to reach the plug socket in the place I wish to put it. Is it possible to use an adaptor? Or will this impair the function? If it is possible are there any recommended ones or will the basic type they sell on Amazon suffice? Thanks in advance Matthew
I recently switched from using a Move for my external laptop speaker to a Roam to save space on my desktop. The Move always connected seamlessly and automatically with my laptop as the default audio regardless of whether the laptop had gone to sleep or was shut down and restarted. As long as the Move was on and in Bluetooth mode, it connected automatically. On the other hand, the Roam disconnects every time the laptop goes into standby, so I have to manually re-connect through the Windows 10 settings interface several times a day.I haven’t found settings I can tweak to fix the issue either in Windows or the Roam….I’d appreciate any thoughts on solutions to get the Roam to connect automatically via bluetooth as the default speaker just as the Move would. Thanks!
Is there something wrong with my Roam? I fully turn my Roam off after use (hold button in for 5 seconds until extended sound plays). However when I then went to use it, the battery had drained significantly and needed to be charged before use. So, I decided to run a test: 4 weeks ago I fully turned Roam off. 2 weeks later turned it on and battery at 100% - great. 2 weeks later battery now at just 95%??is this normal?
As stated in title. Any suggestions please?
Can I Bluetooth pair the Roam to my Iphone without wifi setup enabled?
Hey everyoneIs there anyone else here having issues with Roam? I do, and hasn’t stopped since I bought it. It lasts no more than a couple of days connected to WiFi and then I need to reconfigure it again. Battery doesn’t lasts as much as Sonos claims. Microphone can’t be turned on (I guess is because Roam gets disconnected from network).I have other three Sonos products which have no issues, but this little guy has really disappointed me. And yesterday I decided to call Customer Supports which really wasn’t helpful at all claiming that I have a network issue which it is not. I have my home with a lot of smart devices and none has a single problem with network.I do really want to take it back because it has really a waste of money. Any thoughts?
Initially there was the software issue on BT Halo, re: 5ghz/2.4ghz connection. Now, and worse recently, connecting to it using Airplay 2 (from 3 iPads, an iMac M1 and 2x iPhones) is a nightmare! Even the Sonos S2 app takes ages to find it, tries to ‘fix it’ and stumbles along. Even when it’s next to the router. I originally planned to buy two for stereo (the internet evidently says not yet on this one) & hoped that Sonos would improve it’s functionality with Beam to provide surround option like its other products. All software is up to date. But at the moment I can only successfully use it at our house in Spain as a patio speaker! And a very expensive one.
I bought my sonos roam 3 weeks ago and have struggled with it left right and centre. As far as I can tell there are 4 main problems The first problem I found was that the audio would spontaneously drop out while listening to video and sometimes any audio that isn't played through the sonos app. The second problem is that the bluetooth just doesn't work (excluding 2 days of it functioning last week) The third is that the sometimes the buttons just don’t do what they say they should do in the manual. Sometimes the power button doesn't work, the bluetooth never connects, the volume buttons sometimes don’t and I am yet to be able to use the smart assistant. The final problem I have found is that the device can't pair with other SONOS speakers, of which I own 8. I also think that sonos needed to be clearer that this speaker would force customers to upgrade to the Sonos S2 app as I basically can't use my Play 5’s anymore because they are incompatible with the S2 app. After being a long te
Been trying to us new Sonos roam for a couple of days now and it is just so frustrating.I have the same issues as may others already listed on here.Sound plays for a short time then stops, when looking at app it says everything still playing.Have tried support who suggest I reboot my router. Not sure how this can help as the issue happens on both Wi-Fi and bluetooth. Had no issues with rest of my Sonos speakers.I’ve submitted another diagnostic 850834206. This was during the issue, not sure what difference it will make as support said my last diagnostic was fine. What I can’t understand is that this is obviously a common and known issue since launch by the looks of this forum, yet there is no answer. I’m not sure how this has not been mentioned in the many reviews I read prior to purchase.Looks like this may have to be a return as there doesn’t seem to be any answers here.
I recently got a Roam, and am running into trouble with AirPlay over WiFI. When moving my Roam around the house, I get audio drop-outs and stutters. This happens when I move the speaker, and isn’t affected by the location of the audio source.I have a an Eero mesh system that consists of two Eero Pros that are connected to one another via gigabit ethernet hardwired backhaul, and a third Eero Pro that is connected wirelessly. They are not running any of the experimental features and it’s been a rock solid system for literally years with multiple devices.I looked at the eero app, and lo and behold the Roam does not (wait for it) roam between access points. It picks the one that’s closest to it at power-on (or possibly, the one it was closest to when originally set up), and does not switch. It seems like it’s a known issue that the Roam does not move between WiFi access points per this comment in another thread: Rebooting when moving it around kind of defeats the roaming ability of the Roam
Hello all, I think I got a faulty Roam, it was working fine till today, the led light flashes red, if I hook it to the charger, its a solid red. I’ve tried to reset it by long oressing all the buttons to no avail, unfortunately it seems Sonos has no customer service over the weekend in the US, anyone run into this issue? Any thoughts on gow to fix it, or am I stuck with a faulty Roam? Thanks in advance!
Since I updated to 13.4 - (which on my beam +ones works great with DTS btw), I’m finding it simply impossible to get my Roam pair to establish a stable connection.I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve tried to setup again from factory - but I always get the same issue, one of the pair goes offline after about 30 seconds.I have 2 APs in my home and I’ve tried on one of them in case this could be the issue but same result.
Hardware:1 x Sonos Move, 2 x Sonos Play:1, 1 x IKEA SYMFONSIKNetgear Nighthawk Mesh, with 1 x MR60 (router) and 2 x MS60 (satellites) Interaction between a controlling device (iOS device, e.g.) and the Sonos Move:If a controller and Sonos Move are attached to the same MS60 (mesh satellite), the Sonos app on the controller CANNOT see the Sonos Move. If a controller and Sonos Move are NOT attached to the same MS60 (mesh satellite), the Sonos app on the controller CAN see the Sonos Move. The other Sonos devices are always visible to a controller, regardless of mesh device association. This is consistently reproducible, and persists beyond repeated full resets of the Sonos Move. HELP!
Having read many forum topics on how to diagnose and fix the ‘no power’ problem for Play 5 Gen 1’s i decided to try and bypass the AC to DC power components and power the speaker directly from batteries and thus create my own version of the Sonos Move!!
