Was given this Roam as a birthday present. Was super difficult to set up- spent hours trying to get it to connect and would make me start the whole installation and connect to devices at least four times. It was very frustrating. Finally got it to work pretty well most of the time. Now, six months later (and very light use) there is a red light flashing and my phone cannot connect to my Sonos Roam. Tried powering it down, uninstalling the app, reinstalling, nothing. I tried letting the battery go dead and recharging it in the hopes It might reset, but it flashes blue at first, makes a pleasant chime sound, then flashes red. i love the sound of this, but it seems like it is way more trouble than my cheap five year old mini Jambox that still works! Any suggestions?
There is still an issue with Move Stereo PairsSpeakers paired and Battery Saver is OFF.1st IssueSpeakers left idle for a few hours off their charging base will shut down as if battery saver mode is on. They require a power button press to be active again.2nd IssueOnce the speakers start up there is no sound from the left hand channel. It shows as working in the app but sliding the balance has no effect and it is silent. No amount of powering on and off will help.Work around temp fixUnpair and repair the speakers resumes normal functioning. The Moves should NOT power down if the Battery Saver mode is off surely? I was busy getting sound back and forgot to do a diagnostic but will do one later if the problem appears again, which it may.In the meantime I will do a hard reset and re-add and pair to my system.
My Sonos Move has stopped working. It appears on the app as requiring an update, but I get error code 888 and 1002 when I try to update. The only light that displays is the power light. I have tried to factory reset, I've held the infinity button for 3 minutes to get some form of response, but nothing. Even turning it off requires holding the power button for longer than 30 seconds. When I turn it back on, I get the amber light on the front momentarily. It's been on the charger cable whole we were away for 3 weeks. Could it be the battery needs replacing, and how do I do that. I've tried everything in the support suggestions.
I currently have an Arc and Sub 3 together as I system. I know it will not do surround sound but I have a pair of Move’s coming. I think this will be a good little casual listening system for my upstairs. My question is how do I add the two new Move’s? I believe that I add each one as a different room and then I pair the two Moves. I also was wondering about syncronizing volume between the three parts of the system, Sub, Arc and Moves. Is this at all automated so that they are balanced with one another or do I just adjust each volume independently by ear until I have the balance to my liking? Thanks very much for your help. Cheers.
I have a Sonos Roam that I am attempting to connect to a Project Audio BT turntable. The first time I used it, everything worked perfectly. But now whenever I try to enter BT pairing mode it will connect for a second or two before disconnecting again. I can pair the turntable with other speakers successfully, and I can pair other devices with the Roam, but the two no longer play together properly.I have already tried numerous factory resets but to no avail. Anyone run into anything like this before?
Can anyone from the Sonos team confirm if there is a fix to the Move issues in todays 14.10 release? Excuse the double type its 14.10 not 10.8 on S2 Thanks
Has anyone had a Roam Speaker emit a loud and disturbing sound that couldn’t be stopped unless the speaker is powered down? It sounded like a giant amplified cicada was hovering above me. Support had me power down and then up again. It’s again playing as designed. I’m told if it happens again, they will replace. It was a very unpleasant experience.
Its pretty strange, I am using a Mac Mini M1 with the latest OS and updates. My 2 SONOS Move have the latest updates as well but as soon as I use Apple Music, the connection to Sonos gets lost after 5 seconds and there is no sound at all. Once I restart the Mac, everything works fine but if I go away from the computer and try it again after 30 minutes, I again cant connect anymore. If I restart, everything works fine.Any idea what causes this strange behaviour?
I was hoping that there would be a fix to the Move issues that 14.6 introduced mid April. But no! I was using the Moves in a Stereo pair off their base yesterday. They played fine and were left of their baes overnight. Charge this morning was at 39%. I started playing music and sometimes it showed playing but no sound then the Right hand speaker would play but I could not stop it. Eventually the stop command worked but the LH speaker is still not playing music. Other functions work on that speaker, such as being able to turn off the status light but it will not play any sound. It is a risky business trying the speakers as I foolishly upped the volume and then the stop command would not work, nor would the on device stop button. Luckily it eventually worked but this is not good. I have placed both on their charging base and will see if there is a change when i get home later today. I have submitted two diagnostics, but left my phone at home. Will add them later. I am assuming th
I currently have updated to the latest Sonos App and run the update for the Sonos Roam.I am following the factory steps to add to the system and currently have a Sonos Roam in the system but for whatever reason I am able to add the Sonos Roam. It tells me to power down the roam and restart. Upon restart the Sonos Roam shows as offline in the app even after several restarts. I tried factory reset and to re-add a couple times and still no progress.
Hi everyone. I am facing a problem lately with my sonos system although I didn’t have such an issue before.I have sonos five, move and roam. The last few weeks I encounter the below. When offline, Move and Roam do not appear as ‘offline’ in the app as it was the case in the past. Most importantly, for both Move and Roam (less frequent Five) I get a message ‘unable to connect to device. try again later’ when i am trying to start the speakers playing. A similar message i get when i am trying to connect/group the speakers to the Five when the latter is functioning. In some cases when the problems of point 2 above apply, in the app it is seen that the speakers ‘are playing’ (the bars on the right of the speaker window under ‘system’ are moving, however the speaker does not play actually).I tried with rebooting my router and re-install the sonos app. However the problems remain.Could you please help, or advise?
Since about May, the alarm on the Move has stopped working correctly. I keep it in the hall on the charging station, and at night I take it into the bedroom, where I leave it as an alarm clock, while the charging station stays in the hall. Up until May everything was fine, the alarm in the bedroom in the morning worked fine. But since May the problems started. The device turns on, but nothing plays. The Sonos app (S2, iOS ver 14.8.1) shows that it is playing, but the unit is silent. To start playing after that I might have to reboot the Move. It is important to note that the network configuration and network equipment had not been changed. What I did: I completely reset Move, reinstalled the application and reset the modem. But nothing helped. Who has encountered this and what can be done? The version of hardware: 1.25.1.7-2.2
Come on Sonos, get the moving between access points fixed on the Roam. I dont think 11 months counts as a priority!
I’m having an issue where my new Sonos Move will connect to the network and will not show in the app. The bit that says offline disappears but so does the speaker. Restarting only fixes this issue some of the time. Any ideas?
If I charge my Roam directly with the USB cable it’s ok, but I’m using the wireless charger, there is just an orange blink and then the Roam does not increase the charge.Any ideas?Thank you
I have a Play 5: Gen 1 and two Play 1’s. Just bought two Roams which are set up on the S2 app. S2 app doesn’t find any other speakers on system. S1 app finds the Play 5 fine but says the Play 1s are incompatible. When I attempt to “fix” the incompatibility the app says to download S1???The three speakers were working fine on the S1 app before I downloaded S2.
Having exactly this very annoying problem with two Move’s. Suddenly - never happened before… do not know what to do….?
Help. I have a Sonos Roam - works brilliantly at home on home wifi, and I can Bluetooth my tv in my caravan.but I can’t get the roam to connect to my caravan WiFi - I have a tp link router in my caravan it would be preferable to use WiFi (connection, sync, quality)
Hi all. This problems had plagued my enjoyment of my Sonos Move . Several helpful call to Sonos support and many BT Firmware upgrades made no difference to the temperamental connection to the Smart Hub - until today!I simply disabled the ‘smart search’ function on the 2.4 GHz page of the Hub and set it to the suggested channel (1). Now connecting and staying connect to the Sonos MOVE. I even have the Hub using mode 1. Does this work for others?
After the latest update. My roam stopped charging, battery drained and no way of turning it on to reboot. Besides trashing or replacing what are my options to get this to work? I've tried numerous high speed type c cables and watts. I've tried rebooting by holding down the power button for 12secs. When I plug in the roam the orange light activates for about 5-7 secs and nothing else happens.

I have a 2 Roam system running on an Asus mesh wifi. Worked great indoors but was having lots of drops when I’d move the speakers outdoors. This was frustrating because the Roams insisted on connecting to the router, which was further away, rather than the nearby node.Long story short, I used the ‘Bind’ function in the Asus App force each Roam speaker to connect to the node instead and now it works great. Note: it did give me a warning that the wifi signal at the node was poor so it may cause dropouts, however, this has not been the case and the node is clearly the better signal. But that would explain why the Roams weren’t automatically connecting to the node instead of the router: the mesh ‘thought’ that was the better signal. In any case, this was such an easy fix to a frustrating problem that I wanted to pass along. cheers,Frank
I just bought a Sonos Move and had to take a flashlight and magnifying glass to get the pin number. You put microfont that is black on black and I’m not sure how anyone is supposed to retrieve it but I did and confirmed with a micro zoom photo. When I try to go through setup it says the pin doesn’t match the FCC ID. This is an awful first experience for a premium product.
I recently bought 2 roams with the main goal of pairing them to my outdoor tv. I wanted a Bluetooth speaker so I can move them around rather then have a fixed soundbar. First use worked well set up as a stereo pair however now the sound and voices are a few seconds ahead of my TV and I can’t seem to get them synced up again. I read about a tv dialog sync in the Sonos app but that doesn’t seem to be available for the Roam. Just looking for any other ideas outside of restarting everything. Thanks for the help!
I've been gifted a roam SL for my birthday, I'm pretty tech minded but cannot for the life set it up. I spoke to live chat yesterday but they were about much use as a chocolate fire guard. Upon setting up the roam via the app, it goes through the discovery, the audio PIN but then it just gets stuck on connecting .I thought it may be issues with my mesh network so tried again connecting to my main router instead. I get to the same point again. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, tried setting up a new account with a different email but still nothing. For something of this price bracket I expected more Any ideas on what to do? Or should I just admit defeat and send it back and replace with something more reliable Thanks
