Sonos roam has been a nightmare for us as a custom installer. I chronic issue with not showing up in the app. This device has cost me hundreds of dollars in service calls to our clients. the device is used and plugged in with out ever being removed from the room. And it constantly falls off the app.Frustrating is a nice way to put it. PITA is better. I have this same set up in my own home and have had nothing but problems exactly as my customers have with it falling off the app. We have done the router reset so many times and yes it comes back with in a few days it’s gone again. Sonos seems to have gone down hill since going Public. We are over this product. I will not let customers purchase it with any support from us any longer because of these issues. 

Hi there,Longstanding Sonos user having purchased his first ZP90 way back in 2010 ending up shortly thereafter with 3 of them in total before adding what was then called the S5, followed by Play 3, Play 1 and since adding a Move and just last week purchasing a Roam for use mainly as a portable speaker outside of the house.I do recall being disappointed over the S1/S2 split and furore that surrounded it but I have mostly been satisfied with my Sonos despite losing some features over the years.My system is obviously held at S1 level as it would cost in excess of £2,300 to upgrade to S2 and as I don’t have that kind of disposable income these days I have no option but to forego any new features and hold my system as is.Annoying then that the S1 app keeps throwing up a banner at the top of the screen telling me the Sonos S2 app is now available and asking if I want to check compatibility. Hi!I own a Roam (SL) and love it - although I have come across two frustrating issues:I’ve found that if the Roam is connected via bluetooth to device A, and device B attempts to connect, the Roam disconnects from device A. When entering bluetooth pairing mode, the Roam will connect to any available paired devices, making it tricky to pair new devices.Elaboration on (1):Since I use it with both my phone and PC, this happens a lot when I’m listening to something with my phone, then goes to turn on the PC. The PC attempts to connect via bluetooth, as they are paired, the Roam drops the connection to my phone, which then requires me to reconnect and resume playback.This issue is quite easily reproduced by pairing two devices, connecting with one, then attempting to connect with another.In my opinion, the Roam should refuse bluetooth connection requests when another device is connected. Elaboration on (2):

Hi, we have some problems connecting our Sonos move with the application. They are not able to connect together even if you are really closed to the wi-fi…Someone experienced it too?!

We’ve had a Sonos One for a while and we use an Apple Ipod Touch to run it. For some reason recently Apple Music has come uncoupled from the Sonos app, so while we can play music on the Ipod, we cant play it on the Sonos.The Sonos app seems to think the Apple Music account needs the subscription refreshed. This is paid up, so not the issue.It seems that the Sonos app cant be updated anymore on the Ipod which also means we are not able te re-authorise the account or even remove it. It would be very disappointing if the Sonos app and therefore the Sonos won’t work because the app is outdated and we are not able to relink the Apple Music account.

Hi guys,I bought a Roam SL early into my trip here in NYC. I have one back in Australia and know that I need to do the initial setup through WiFi so that I can then use it as a bluetooth speaker for the rest of the journey. I have tried using the hotel WiFi to get it working, but no joy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I honestly do not understand what is wrong with my Roam. I have a pair of Play 1 speakers and a Connect:Amp, and none of them have the problems that the Roam has. The Roam is constantly falling off of the network. It disappears for weeks at a time, then returns and says it is off-line. How does the system know it’s there if it’s offline? A power cycle on the Roam and a reboot of the router help briefly, but then the problem returns -- the Roam has roamed away somewhere. I get that 2.4 GHz signal interruption and constrained bandwidth may cause connectivity glitches, but neither the Play speakers nor the Connect Amp have a problem adjusting to this. I have moved the Roam to the same room as the router, and it doesn't help. Also, I have not changed any router settings. It is seriously frustrating and infuriating to be forced to diagnose this problem every time I want to use the Roam. My situation:I bought a Roam to replace my Echo Dot (2nd gen) & Oontz Angle 3 setup. 1st problem: Alexa doesn’t work on Sonos in my country. This incredibly pissed me off, as that’s why I bought it. Alexa is mentioned on every add for the Roam in the Czech Republic, and nowhere (other than this group) is it mentioned that it doesn’t work. It turns out that Sonos knows this, but doesn’t bother to tell prospective customers. So now I trust Sonos about as much as a used car salesman.2nd problem: The speaker sounds amazing, so I decide to just pair it with my Echo dot. It works fine at first, but after a day or two, music starts skipping. After deleting the dormant bluetooth pairings on the Echo dot, this was fixed.3rd problem: The Roam randomly drops the BT connection. (I have them almost next to each other). After connecting to Bluetooth (color turned solid blue) to my LG TV, my Sonos takes a good 5mins before the audio starts on it. Sometimes it doesn’t start at all. Volume and everything are on high on the TV and also on the Roam. My Bose revolve used to connect instantly and start playing the audio.Edit: Also, on the Sonos foam screen in the s2 app, it says no music selected  Mod Edit: Combined posts so topic is still “in need of reply”.

Hello allI am getting no where with support and wanted to reach out to you. The Sonus Roam turns on and connects to my network. I can always use Alexa and it works well/plays music from spotify.The issue is that it often doesn’t show as an option to connect to within spotify or the Sonus app.  This issue may resolve c10mins into turning on but as you can imagine it is v v irritating.  Before letting the battery discharge and leaving in a cupboard/giving away, I wanted to know if anyone has a fix for this.I currently have the issue on Samsum S21 ultra.Thanks in advance allDaniel 

Hi there, Randomly, my move stopped playing any music. I can use Alexa to speak with it and see the lights flicker as if it’s responding, but no sound whatsoever. I tried playing through my phone via WiFi; no sound. Tried to connect via the sonos app, unable to connect.  Grateful for any help!

Is there any way I can connect a Move speaker to my Ray so that it can be used to carry the sound to other parts of the room? 

I have a Sonos S2 system with a few Ones and a Roam in it.  We’re going on holiday soon and would like to take the Roam with us and put it on the holiday home’s wifi network.I’ve read other posts saying I can go to the general network settings and add multiple wifi networks which sounds exactly what I want.However, I’m just a little confused.  If I take the Roam away from my own network, how do I connect to it so I can put the new wifi network in?  Sorry I’ve seen a few questions on it - a lot about using multiple Sonos systems which isn’t what I’m after - but I’m obviously missing one small detail.  I’m sure this must have been answered elsewhere.

My grouping no longer works when I play music via airplay and group. It seems to work fine if I play right through my songs app, but via AirPlay it maybe works for a few seconds then cuts out and doesn’t come back.

I bought a new projector with Android TV version 10 from Xgimi (Elfin). Now I wanted to pass the sound on to my Sonos Roam via Bluetooth. Unfortunately, the Roam makes absolutely no sound. I've paired and restarted the whole thing several times. Also tried it with other Bluetooth speakers and headphones. Seems to work there with no problems. Has anyone already gained experience specifically with the Xgimi projectors or with Android TV or Google TV? Is there possibly an incompatibility with Sonos products?

My sonos move suddenly stopped working. The light is red and it’s not showing up in the app. I’ve tried to restart it by holding in the power button, after 15-17 seconds it restarts, the battery bar shows in orange and the light turns white but after a few seconds it turns red again and the battery bar disappears.  Any idea how to fix this? thanks

roam disconnecting when is connected to chargerIf it is working on battery only it seams fine. As soon is connected on charger, for charging and home use, it keeps disconnecting from wifi. All updates are done and other devices works fine on the router. So please , don't me advice to reset router again. It is not fair.

Hello, this is an issue I have had for some time now when switching to S2 but finally getting around to asking why this is happening: I have a beam connected to my tv and when watching tv, works without issue (5.0 setup with 2 ones). However, when I group either our move or roan to the TV setup, they both will skip / have poor connection to TV audio (however the beam and ones still work smoothly) this is unique only to tv audio.  When I stream music or anything else, there’s no issue. Pre s2, it was not a problem at all.  I’ve tried resetting everything, software is up to date, etc and nothing seems to work.  any help is appreciated. 

Hi all,After some month of mixed usage of Sonos Move, I updated to 14.18 and noticed immediately that bass got boosted a lot and also I lost clarity on vocals. I can turn up high in eq but it takes high frequency too high to open up the vocals.i was really satisfied with it till now (used with 0/0 eq and loudness on). Now I can't listen to it, I feel tired ears after some minutes and sound quality got a lot worse. Anyone had the same issue? Any suggestion on how to troubleshoot/solve it?Thanks

Hello Guys, i have the following problem. I want to use the battery mode of the sonos one but it stops working when it is removed from the charging dock. It also does not turn on when not on the charging dock although according to the app the battery is fully charged. It works only when placed on the charging dock. Has anyone had this problem? thanks in advance!Stan

I cannot connect via Sonos app or Bluetooth. In the app it says “offline”. I can’t see it in AirPlay. I do have several Sonos speakers that work just as they should (wifi and AirPlay). My roam has been plugged in for awhile so I think I can eliminate battery or wireless charging (don’t own it) I did try powering it down  I walked through find missing products multiple times. Note that restarting my router is a 12 min task.The chat box appears to walk you through the help steps again so that seems useless. Thus here I am since the office is closed  anyone have an idea? 

Hi, I have Apple TV with AirPlay but cannot get it to connect to Sonos Roam via bluetooth - constantly says PIN is incorrect; style of PIN on bottom of speaker is NNN-NN-NNN. Any ideas why this won’t work?Also about to get Chromecast with Google TV (latest version); can this use Sonos Roam or One speakers as audio output?Thank’s in advance :-) 

We received our Roam last week and have had endless problems with it, which haven’t been solved by Sonos Customer Services.Initially, it wouldn’t connect to our existing Sonos system at all. Then when it did, the speaker didn’t work properly - it was really tinny with no bass, and when we tried to change the volume there was an awful scratching noise.We eventually managed to play music normally - but the it cuts out every 3-5 minutes!! On the Sonos app it still says music is playing, and the buttons on the Roam don’t work.This happens whether it’s on Bluetooth or wifi. Other problems include not being able to turn it off, and the buttons sporadically not working at all.We spent 45 minutes on hold to CS, and then 2.5 hours chatting with a very nice but ultimately unhelpful technician who remote-accessed our router settings and tried everything he could to get it working. This resulted in us having no internet…. because he changed our router to modem mode,

Hello, I have a Sonos Roam that was purchased in April (Not used until December) that will no longer turn on. I have spent the last three days with chat giving me the runaround with different procedures on rebooting a resetting just to have them basically say “Sorry, you’re out of warrant” and would not send it any further for review. To those that have had this issue, was there any luck getting this turd to power on? I have thousands of dollars in other Sonos products that have been great, but this situation has put a bad taste in my mouth. The refusal to stand behind the product frustrates me.
