I have purchased two Beam (Gen 2) speakers from the same store and same palate lot. Both complete the setup process connecting to the 2.4 GHz WiFi band before returning an error 1101 when attempting to update the firmware after which the setup completes with a tone but the speaker disappears from the Sonos app upon clicking Done. I confirmed each was connected to my WiFi network and was pingable.  I tried connecting to an existing system and each time the Sonos app found the speaker and connected before immediately disconnecting again. I tried the same thing with the speaker connected via Ethernet with the same result. I factory reset each speaker, reset the Sonos app and started setup again with the speaker connected via Ethernet but it still failed. I even tried deleting my new Sonos account, creating a new one, factory resetting the speaker and starting all over again with no success. I have a Chromecast with Google TV (4K) that works as a streaming device when using the internal TV speakers. For our preferred audio, we have a full SONOS surround sound system (SONOS Arc soundbar, Sub Gen 3 subwoofer, 2x Era 100 rear speakers) that works perfectly with any regular streaming of music etc. from phones. However, it will often not work at all with the Chromecast. Despite all speakers being installed and paired properly, the Chromecast will instead often use the TV's internal speakers. There are times that yes, the whole system works as desired. Other times it won't work, and I will then unplug the Chromecast, leave it 30 seconds, then plug it back in and the problem has gone away temporarily (sometimes having to repeat a couple of times). This is a VERY frustrating problem to be facing in 2024, especially when needing to try to unplug from a slim wall-mounted TV and plug back in. I do believe that this is a Chromecast problem rather than a SONOS problem: there are enough

Having trouble connecting the Sonos app to an Asus xp4 mesh router. Arc soundbar connects to wifi, but the app will say Arc is connected, and then the Arc soundbar does not show on app. Tried iphone and 3 different ipads. Rebooted router many times. Restarted speaker as new many times. Hardwired soundbar to router. Speaker will play through tv, but cannot be controlled without the app. Called Sonos and they said the router (might) not be supported. Anyone else having this problem?

Hi everyone.  I have a special birthday coming up & my wonderful wife wants to buy the Sonos Arc for me. I have a very small TV room & just wondering if this would be a problem, I really don't want to turn her down.🤣. Your comments/help would be great. Many thanks.

Since the App update my surround speakers (Play1) have stopped working. have tried powering everything down then tried removing them but have not been able to add them back. Then tried factory resetting them added them back to the system and got message saying they were connected but when you look for them they are nt there. Tried adding back as surrounds and it can’t find them. They were fine before the App update which is awful! Tried to call tech support but says 90 minute wait don’t know what else to do.

As if the app update disaster was not enough, the Sonos Beam I have been using since 2020 has just bricked.  I spent six hours today trying to get it to work.  Phone support is 70 minutes of wait time, so I got in a queue for Sonos support chat in the UK (I live in Canada where there are “no representatives available”).  Finally got someone, we spent over two hours trying the whole song & dance including sequential re-boot ( I have 11 Sonos products).   Nothing worked.  His closing suggestion was to call voice support…..Anyone experiencing this?  Oh, and btw - for those last four years, the Sonos Beam worked with an non ARC HDMI connection from the 24” TV in my kitchen….now if I managed to get the Beam to connect to my network, if I connect the TV it’s kicked out.  None of this makes sense.  How can a device that never had an optical in, require an optical connection if your don’t have ARC? This is not my first hardware nightmare with Sonos but this is by far the worst.  I can’t be

Since the latest update my Beam gen. 1, (S2), has lost its microphone and light,  ( including Alexa voice). Also, both of my Play:1 surround speakers have no sound despite showing full connection in the app. (S2).Thanks

In my living room I have a stereo pair of Play:5 v16.2 and a TV that’s connected to a Beam v16.2. When we watch a movie we want to use the better sound of the Play:5 pair but when we group them to the Beam they cut out frequently. This does not happen when we listen to music with the Play:5 pair, only when we try to run TV audio to them.Is there a way we can get a better performance?

I noticed they sell the Arc and wireless Ace headphones as a bundle. I read that other brand bluetooth headphones don’t work with the Arc. I’m assuming that they got it to work with the Ace headphone. Do you think the Ace is the only headphone that is compatible with the Arc or have they resolved the issue for all bluetooth headphones? I don’t own any Sonos but figuring out what I need to buy. Thanks.

I bought the Arc to replace a Play soundbar a few months after the Arc came out. Originally it was connectect to a Sony A80J 2021 model TV and had no issues. Up until recently my system was the Arc with two One’s for rears and the Sub…the A80J went out and I replaced it with a X90L and after I got all the settings correct, everything was working but the sound was far lower than it used to be. Before, I ran the system in the mid 30’s, but now I have to run it at 60 or higher to get the same results. I have since replaced the one’s with a pair of Era 300’s hoping that would help, but it hasn't. I have Apple TV for streaming movies and like I said before, the sound is just not there. Everything is updated so I am at a loss what to try next…I’ve been through this community for a while now, trying different things and sometimes it works, but it seems to revert back for some reason…I hope someone can give me a hand getting this sorted out because I do love this system. Hola a todos, acabo de comprar un sub gen 3 para enlazarlo con mi Sonos arc so y mi la talla de 77 Sony. Lamentablemente, no puedo hacerlo. hice la configuración normal (incluso reiniciando ambos equipos, reiniciando módem, con la misma red, borrando y actualizando la app de Sonos) y se detecta tanto la barra como el sub. Pero, al momento de administrar la barra y agregarle el sub lo hace pero en el menú de la habitación, me aparece de manera momentánea la opción de configuración del sub y luego lo borra. Hey everyone!I’m helping a friend here. Ever since the latest updates, he’s been having two main issues: audio sync and his Beam 2 cutting in and out.He asked me to come over and be a second set of eyes to make sure he wasn't crazy or missed anything when he did his own troubleshooting. We spent a good 6 hours going through everything top to bottom. From WiFi, to TVs, to HDMI Cables, the only thing we did not try was an Optical Cable because we didn’t have one handy. We also did not do a complete “burn it down” and rebuild. He’d already done it 3 times already and I didn’t want a chance of his system ending up in the infamous “Sign In as Owner” error. Hi there,I just used 3 hours trying to get my new Sonos Ray to work, and I’m losing my mind. I connected the optical cable directly to my LG TV (new model) and set the sound settings to Optical Out. No sound (yes, I raised the volume level). I even tried connecting an optical cable directly from the Ray in to my PS4 Pro, checked the audio settings. No sound. I can’t add the Ray to the Sonos app (iPhone) either because of an error 1.101. I factory reset the Ray 5 times now, no dice. Is there a specific router setting for it allow to connect to the Sonos servers? I also put in a cable from my router to the Ray, but get the same error code. HELP!! 😅

When I add a component the App adds it into a separate room (i.e. Living Room 2).Please help. I simply want a single system that works together. 

I am trying to connect my Apple tv 4k latest generation to my VU TV already working with the sonos arc.Using the ARC HDMI port on the TV to connect with the sonos arc soundbar and the normal hdmi port to connect apple tv with the VU TV.Apple TV keeps saying haven’t received any response from the television.Will the normal HDMI support this connection, or need a ARC port also for connecting apple TV to sonos soundbar.Any response will be appreciated. ThanksNikhil

All. Im new to Sonos and this will be my first purchase.I have just bought a new house with the main TV room is going to be 16’40” x 12’1” (5.00 x 3.63 m). I am looking to purchase the ARC Ultimate setup (with the era 300’s and the gen 3 sub).  Will this be too much for this size of room? Mainly for movies and gaming. I’m not worried about cost. Just want to know if it will sound okay? I want the best sounding surround sound I can get from Sonos. Thank You

Has anyone else had the problem of not having settings for there gen 3 sub on the new app? Its showing up on system that its part of the setup and theres faint bass coming from it but for the life of me cant find settings to adjust it,i see people having trouble with 3rd party sub settings but this is a sonos sub so what the hell have they done with this new app?for such good products there software is actuali ridiculous.

I am having an interesting challenge with sonos customer support, and wanted to open a community discussion in case I’m not the only one. My customer support rep was very helpful at diagnosing the problem, but when we got to the warranty status portion of our discussion I was accused of having registered the device under my own name in 2021—which is absolutely not the case. I also don’t have a very common name, so I can’t imagine that this is some wild coincidence.
