Good morning,

I have a set up with my TV of a Playbar, Sub and two Play:1. This was connect to my LG tv via the optic cable and had no issues.

However, the TV developed a fault and I had to get a new one.

I decided to go fo a Hisense tv, it has all the connections I need. But the Playbar will now not work with the tv. I’ve tried every setting I can and even reset the playbar to configure again. It recognises its connected to the TV but thats as far as it goes.

Someone has mentioned a convertor for the optic to e-arc. Is this a thing or am I missing something simple?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The primary thing to try (and this might be moot as you say it recognises it’s connected) but ensure you have pushed the ends of the optical cable fully into the ports. It can feel like it’s in position but optical cables are notorious for not clicking fully into place without a little pressure. You need to hear or feel a click. You can tell if one end is connected as the other will glow red.

I used to use this with my Playbar. You plug the optical cable from the Playbar into it, then use an HDMI cable to connect it to the HDMI-ARC or HDMI-eARC on the TV so you can use the Playbar over HDMI, which was an absolute revelation!!

I tried a few converters with little success , until I used the Rhonny has suggested …. Worked great!
