My Beam has worked quite happily for over a year. Decided to add a Sub to the setup - and held off buying surrounds for now.  It’s taken me on/off a day to get the sub added and connected to the Beam.  Honestly, it’s an absolute dumpster fire of a setup process. I mean, I use lots of smart home gadgets, and this is definitely the worst setup process I’ve been thru.  I’ve setup different Wi-Fi networks, changed settings as per suggestions on here, sometime I see the Sub but no Beam, then I see the Beam and no Sub. Then I see both but it says they aren’t on the network, and then the sub needs an update - which it subsequently says failed, and then “no update required”.  Seriously folks, do you do any QA of the setup process at all?It appears to be working, but I know as soon as I get a power outage or a network reboot, it’ll die and I’ve no desire to go thru this hot mess again.  Whoever is responsible for software development there really needs to try and experience the setup from a con

Sonos App (iOS) is not able to connect Sonos Beam to network. Right around the time of the most recent App update (13.0.4 on 4/6), suddenly my Sonos Beam dropped off my list of devices accessible via Airplay, and it was no longer showing up in my Spotify list of eligible speakers. Attempted a factory reset and to say the least...there were a lot of reconnection attempts required, where it wouldn’t pick up the network. During a single connection window, managed to get it set back up with Alexa.Not long after, however, the Sonos app promptly disconnected again, and has been that way since (past two days). The app complains all devices are disconnected, is completely unable to detect the Beam unless I attempt a new device setup through bluetooth, the Beam itself never returned to the list of eligible Airplay devices, and any attempts in the app to reconnect the device to the WiFi say the network is inaccessible. I have a Sonos Arc and a Vizio M55-C2 (2015 ish).  When I plug the Sonos into my HDMI ARC port (HDMI-1) and turn on CEC my TV recognizes the Sonos but when using the Sonos App to try to setup the TV it gives the following error: “A device is interfering with the HDMI connection. Disconnect any other home theater products, then try again.”  I have disconnected every else except the Sonos and still get this error.  I have reset the Sonos to factory defaults a few times and unplugged/replugged the cable between the two and still no luck. Any suggestions?

I’m a novice with sound issues.  I have a recently purchased a Beam, which I have been playing with my Samsung TV sound output.  Because of space issues the Beam soundbar is on a shelf to the right of the TV, which results in a one directional sound when watching TV.  I now have purchased a Sonos 1 (2nd Gen) and placed it on a shelf to the left of the TV in an attempt to get a more balanced sound output.  I gave the Beam and the Sonos 1 different “room” names and “grouped” them as per the app instructions.  I then set the volume levels in the app to the same settings and confirmed that the TV sound was coming out of both speakers.  The trouble is that when watching TV, the volume of each speaker keeps changing.  Each gets very quiet for a time at different times while watching.  They quiet to the point that it seems to the listener that the sound has gone off in one of the speakers.  It hasn’t, however. it just gets very quiet relative to the other speaker. I’ve had my Beam for several years, it was previously connected via ARC to a Panasonic Plasma and worked flawlessly (albeit in Stereo). It was primarily used with an Apple TV HD.Now I’ve got a new LG CX OLED TV and Apple TV 4K, and I’m finding that often, When I turn the TV on, the audio will come out through the internal TV speakers. When this happens, I can sometimes go through the “Setup TV” process in the Sonos app and the TV discovers the sound bar again, but this also doesn’t work some times.I’ve also tried setting the sound output to Dolby Digital 5.1 in both the TV and Apple TV, but this doesn’t make any difference from what I can tell.it’s pretty frustrating, so would appreciate any advice.

Bought arc and sub 2 weeks ago.  i could have wept at how incredible it sounded.  added two one sl's last week as rear surrounds.  All was glorious for about 48 hours.  while watching a 4k br friday night (longest possible time to talk to a live support rep), arc made a loud static like sound for a second or two.  arc and sub disconnected.  reconnected arc no problem.  sub was a bear. was able to get incredibly faint sound out of sub after hardwiring arc, but nothing like its potential.  literally 4 hours on the phone with support today. at least 2 dozen diagnostics.  supervisor (who was super nice and genuinely interested in helping me fix things) ultimately told me I'd need to schedule a call with the engineering team (which I found out later was in two days!). kept perusing forum and something clicked to make me disconnect surrounds.  the bass is back in a big and beautiful way! but my one sl's are paper weights.  any thoughts on what caused the issue and how to configure the two re

So I reset my system (which up until now was working fine) because I had network issues.  Now, even after completely rebooting the Sonos app I can no longer control the Arc’s volume via the app OR my remote control (which was setup to do it and used to work just fine before this network reset).I ran Soundcheck to recalibrate (which worked fine AND had high volume) but afterwards the Arc is about as silence as a silenced lamb. I’ve rebooted the Arc as well with no luck.  I can’t turn the volume down or up -- or even silence it.  Anyone have a clue as to what to do next?

Il problema è che non riesco a settare il Dolby Digital, mi rimane sempre su PCM.Andando nelle opzioni audio  in  collegamento con cavo ottico  la voce "Dolby Digital"  e DTS non diventa selezionabile, ma posso scegliere solo tra "PCM" e "DTS Neo 2:5"  (che se selezionata non produce suono).Sbaglio in qualcosa, perchè anche guardando film da Prime in 5.1 l’app S2 Sonos  li identifica sempre in uscita PCM.Ringrazio quanti vorranno aiutarmi.SalutiFrancesco

We just got a new Xfinity set top box and I've tried setting up the new remote. After pairing the remote, the mute doesn't work and Volume Up and Volume Down BOTH turn up the volume. It got very loud in here for a bit. How do I get the Playbar to lower the volume when I'm pressing Volume down?

There are two ways for me to get audio from the Laptop to the Sonos 5.1 system: I change the laptop audio output to Sony TV. The TV then pushes sound to the Arc & Sub; I do not get any sound out of the Fives. When I press buttons on the Five, I can control the whole system like pausing and turning up the sound but I cannot get any sound from them I change the laptop audio setting to the Sonos 5.1 airplay setting. However, the connection lasts for about 20 minutes before it starts breaking apart or disconnects completely. I then have to toggle the sound from laptop speakers to Sonos 5.1 airplay OR I wait: if I wait, sometimes the sound comes back, some times it does not. I do use a VPN (as I liv

 Hi, I’m lucky enough to have both new consoles and wasn’t really messing around too much with sound when I first got them, but I’ve just upgraded my 2014 LCD to an LG CX and need setup advice.  I have a Playbar and 2 gen1 Play surround speakers. I know I can’t get Dolby Atmos with this setup but what are the best settings for sound for the consoles?  On Series X I have HDMI audio set to 5.1 uncompressedOn PS5 I had it originally set to Linear PCM but I’ve found Bitstream (Dolby) and Bitstream (DTS) do produce sound... Very little audio experience and would really appreciate any help! 

I have two playbar’s and nine play 1’s throughout my home.  I’ve grown the system over the last few years. Recently, I noticed my surrounds attached to both playbars were not working.  Checking the app, I noticed two ?’s next to the surround option.  So I removed, the surrounds, factory reset them, went thought the process of adding them back to the system and everything is fine until I try to add them as surrounds.  At that point, it just runs for a while and then says an error has occurred,  I’m then forced to start all over with factory resetting the play 1’s. I’ve run this config both upstairs and down for a couple of years now, without issue, but now I’m unable to get them to work again. I have updated the app to ensure I’m using the most recent code, Any ideas?

My Samsung TV (UN82TU7000FXZA) only has 2 HDMI ports (crazy, I know) so the HDMI e-ARC port is connected to my new Sonos Arc and the other HDMI port is either used for my Apple TV 4K or Cox Communications Cable Box. When the Apple TV is connected, the sound works but when I unplug the Apple TV and plug in the cable box the sound cuts out and the only way to get it back is to reach behind the mounted TV, unplug both HDMI cables and then FIRST reconnect the Sonos Arc and THEN connect the cable box. HELP I don’t want to return the Arc but this is ridiculous! :(

My new Sonos beam works well with the TV as sound bar and is also connected to my Alexa app. The Beam will respond to Alexa commands but will not play music independently. Alexa app has Amazon and Pandora music apps enabled. I understand that it is not configured to play on the Alexa "everywhere" group but it should still play music by itself. Any suggestions?

After four month of working completely fine and no changes to my router or network, my Beam will no longer syncs with my 2 Ones and Gen 3 Sub.  Help!  I’ve reset everything to factory and it still won’t sync. I was able to get the Beam to connect to the Ones in surround mode by connecting the Beam to an Ethernet cable.  But once I unplugged the Ethernet cable it no longer works.  Help!!!!

I have an 11 month old, Samsung 82” QLED Q70R. I recently purchased the new Sonos Arc and I can not get Dolby Atmos to work.  TV Setup - I have the Arc connected to the TV via the HDMI 4 (ARC) using the HDMI cable Sonos provided with the speaker. (It’s not and eARC port, but according to Samsungs website it supports Dolby Digital+ and Atmos. In the TV’s “expert” sound settings, I have the Dolby Atomos Compatibility box checked, and when I connected the Sonos Arc it said “Atmos enabled device detected.” Yet when I go to the Digital Output Audio For… setting, it only allows me to select Dolby Digital.  I am currently using an Xbox 1s and Apple TV 4K for streaming, Netflix, HBOMAX, HULU, Disney+, etc. When I go to the XBOX settings, I have HDMI Audio set to Bitsream Out. However, when I go to the Bitstream format setting, whenever I select Dolby Atmos for home theater or DTS:X for home theater, I get a message that says: “Your receiver doesn’t support Dolby Atmos for home theater” Sonos p

I’m observing audio dropping out on my Beam while watching Netflix and Disney+. This is especially confusing, since the Beam is connected via Ethernet with a fresh cable, so it’s not Wi-Fi related. Any suggestions? I’ve already tried rebooting the router and the Beam itself, and it’s not happening with my other Sonos speakers in the house.

I have a speaker system that includes the Arc, Sub (Gen 3) and two Sonos One SLs.When I am watching television, it randomly turns itself down.I am not touching the remote or the app, and there is nothing/nobody else in my house that would be turning it down. Frustrating.Anyone have any ideas on how to make this stop?

Hi All, my set up is as follows:PC connected to TV (LG CX 77”) via HDMI and TV connected to Arc (eArc port via my own HDMI cable as the supplied cable did not work). The Sonos Ones are set up as surrounds. The issues are:when I switch between the phone App and the TV / PC controls - there is no sound. it seems there is a handshake issue and I have to switch the TV off and on for it to work. sometimes, when I turn on the TV, I get a weird noise from the Arc and have to switch TV off and on for it to work. the surrounds do not work even when ‘Audio In’ for the Arc within ‘About my system’ says ‘Dolby Multichannel PCM 5.1’. am not sure why. Please help / advise.thanks a lot !

Until recently, I had a Playbase connected to my LG smart TV with an optical audio cord. Also connected were my Sub woofer and 2 Ones giving me surround sound for the TV that seemed to work very well. Inmy living room I also had an older Marantz receiver, 2 decent wired speakers, a CD player and a Turntable giving me a reasonable stereo system.In my infinate wisdom, I purchased an Amp which was to replace the receiver. My hope was to connect everything together so that I could have my TV with surround sound or switch to my CD or Turntable or the Sonos app for stereo. I purchased Y RCA plugs so I could connect both the CD player and the Turntable to the AMP. Obviously only one at a time but I hoped to save pulling and inserting plugs all the time.  The TV is now hooked up to both the playbase (optical cord) and the AMP (ARC  HDMI). I live in Toronto, and my TV cable is Rogers Ignite which uses hdmi cables to connect to my BenQ projector.  I understand that the beam has to connect directly to my projector through one of the two existing HDMI ports, how do i connect my cable box and roku or xbox?thanks   

All my hdmi ports are occupied, by a nintendo switch, an apple tv, a ps5 and an xbox series x. I have a 5.1 setup with the arc two rears and a sub but the LG OLED C7 doesnt support 2.1 and thus doesnt transmit Dolby Atmos. Given this, is there any significant disadvantage to connecting a Sonos Arc to an LG OLED C7 via optical port than via hdmi?

I have my Beam connected to my Visio M470NV using the HDMI/optical adapter. I’ve programmed my Spectrum remote a half dozen times to control the sound. Each time it works for a while, then stops, and I have to go through the whole process to “Set up new TV remote” again. This is very frustrating because half the time when I want to mute the TV I have to pull up the app to do so.
