Hey all,  I don’t know enough to know what I don’t know. Looking for other people’s thoughts.  For years, we lived off a 2.1 system. This last December, we bought an Arc Ultra. No bass, no side speakers yet.  When I play native Dolby Atmos audio - ie, modern movies and games with it as the original mix - the sound is stone cold amazing. Absolutely mind blowing.  And on stereo, in sounds fine. It sounds like stereo. Not great, just fine, like you’d expect.  But when it tries to output 5.1 sound or plays old 5.1 movies remixed as Atmos, it just sounds off, like it actively does not use all the speakers in the bar, or puts things out to the upward speakers when those aren’t part of the 5.1 track. …. Again, I don’t know what I don’t know here, sadly. Is this a common problem? Is there a way to fix this? Do I need side speakers for the 5.1 experience? Did Atmos just spoil me immediately? 

I am trying to improve my system (Beam-1, 2 Sonos One surround speakers, mini-Sub) by connecting my beam to my home router with an Ethernet cable and using SONOSNET to wirelessly connect to the sun & surround speakers. Yes, I also suffer from the random sound drop-outs!!I have looked up the “About My System” page on the “General Setting’ option, hoping to confirm that my system is using the WM-0  connection protocol (for SONOSNET connection), but the line of text showing WM status (which should appear under the IP Address line) is missing on my “About My System” page.Has anyone else had this issue?

Hello Sonos Community. Thanks for sticking around if you are patient, this seems to be a strange one . . .I am having a heck of a time getting an ARC/SUB/AMP configuration to be adjustable and tweakable the way it should. I have added the Amp as Surround and Sub to the ARC configuration in a single room. The amp feeds 4 ceiling speakers that sound great. The sub kicks in. The True Sound applet runs and sends its pink noise everywhere and sounds great. The issue is that True Surround gives a super heavy front surround mix out of the gate, and there is no way to manually pump up the Surrounds (AMP and 4 speakers) or Sub. There is a section to adjust these and the sliders do absolutely nothing. The ARC User Guide itself says that these adjustments are possible, and I quote:https://www.sonos.com/en-us/guides/arcSurround audio settingsDuring setup, surround sound is optimized for your room. I've been trying to get this thing added for days and nothing works. I've done reset after reset. Tried physically connecting it through Ethernet (I'm tech savvy, I have gigabit Internet with a solid router). I can get the setup to find the sub and begin the process of adding it. When I lay my phone on top of it, it recognizes it. Then, it's just stuck on this with no end in sight. The two times it's gotten past this, it asks me for my WiFi password and then failed to connect. I tried both my 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz SSIDs. Sonos, what gives?! 

Living Room contains Amp/in-ceiling speakers, Sub & Arc via HDMI (eArc/Arc). Is there a setting so I can watch TV video & have Sonos audio playing? Have same setting question for Beam (eArc/Arc) configuration.Can’t find product versions, but system was installed May 2023.Thanks

Hi there.  My Arc is connected to the HMDI ARC on my tv, but no matter hwat i’ve tried i cannot get it to output 5.1.  Netflix/prime/tv etc. Sound works fine but the app keeps saying its playing in stereo.  I have tried using the optical adapter as well - same issue. the DD option in the TV menu is greyed out and “PCM”  is the only option I can use.  I’ve even tried using an hdmi switcher which changed nothing.  TV and Arc and the app are all on their latest software version.  Tried multiple HDMI cables, sources, etc.  Thoughts?

I am so disappointed by the fact that I can’t have a single system (fitting my apartment size) that allow me to take full advantage of both home theatre as well as music playing capabilities of the devices I own.I would argue creating a toggle shutting down the soundbar is doable in this time and age, but from what I have read in the forums. It clearly is not. having gone over a vast number of threads these solutions seem like an amazing option to create an alternative for those of us who either for financial is logistical reasons cannot afford to keep additional 2 or more speakers at home.Please, consider this an upvote to what’s most likely has already been posted. I’m trying to help my senior with poor eyesight to control her TV (with Bell Fibe service) using voice commands with an ARC capable Sonos speaker.  I understand that Alexa or Google voice commands can turn the TV on or off and control the volume output but I’m looking for more control.  Channel selection, TV Bell Fibe guide display, input switching, etc.   Possible?   

I have  2 home theatre set ups.  1 in basement with Sonos arc, Sonos sub and 2 era100s. The other is the family room with sonos soundbar and Sonos sub. Can a different show/movie be watched in each zone at same time with Sonos sound ?thx Gordo 

My current setup is Play Bar, Sonos One, and Sonos One SL as rear.  (Previous 2 Sonos One but I do not need 2 voice control in the same room, and same issue before switching too)Network setup is Eero 6 mesh, and TV is LG 75UK6190PUB.  Currently no devices are connected via Ethernet, as Sonosnet was awful in a multi dwelling apartment where Wifi is VERY saturated.  (With sonosnet half of my speakers are always offline… I have concrete walls in my apartment and Sonosnet was just not penetrating no matter how many nodes we add.  For context, I had bought 2 Sonos Boost to no effect whatsoever) When watching anything in Dolby Digital 5.1, the surround system goes awry in a few minutes - Playbar and Rear are still in sync but sound is stuttered.    Resetting the TV (unplugging from wall) seems to be the only fix.  But problem usually comes back within the next 10 minutes.Are there any fix?

I have a Beam 2 connected via HDMI(eARC) to a TV and a single Era 100. Both are on the same wireless network. If I group the speakers together, I only get TV audio out of the Beam. If I play music on the Sonos app, they both play flawlessly in sync.I've tried associating them in the same room and as separate rooms. The app acts like it's playing on both speakers when I group them. Is this just not possible in this configuration?

Hi. I’ve just purchased a Beam 2 and Mini Sub to add to my existing setup.  All is working fine for movie content etc - sounds great.  When I playback music, either via an app like Spotify or in the Sonos App, the sound only comes from the Beam 2 and nothing from the Sub. Is there any way I can change this?  Thanks 

Hello everyone!I have to ask you a suggestion for the placement of the Sonos product in my room:In the image in red you have the soundbar and the subwoofer, is ok the position?The two other era (100 or 300 i don’t know yet) where i have to put it ideally? i would like not to put it on the wall behind the sofa, if it is possible, otherwise no problem i have to do a little work on the wall. Thanks a lot for a reply!   

I have an entertainment system with the specs below, which I’m trying to use the “Monster Bluetooth 2-in-1 Wireless Audio Adapter” to connect the entertainment system to our Moto Motion Audio Sofa and Recliner via Bluetooth. I can get the Samsung TV (native mode) to play through the Moto Motion by connecting to it via Bluetooth, but I’m unable to play through the Nvidia Shield / Sonos Arc Soundbar. Will this play correctly as far as timing/delay/echo, etc? Will it sound right? Trueplay? How is sound processing and distribution handled for ARC Ultra connected to TV? Specifically, in the case of Atmos signal received, would the Arc Ultra send the original Atmos input to the Fives and Fives process it into stereo? Or would the Ultra decode the Atmos and send a PCM Stereo Mix to the Fives? Or would the Arc Ultra decode and only send the FL/FR channels to the Fives and disable its own L/R? Read in another forum someone has this working with option 2.3 but I didn’t see an announcement this was supported yet so am suspicious.

I’ve just got the Sky glass Tv and connected it fine to the Sonos Beam with Era 100’s and mini subi can hear sound coming out the soundbar but I don’t get home theatre surround sound like I did with my previous tv and Sonos Playbar music sounds amazing via the Sonos app but tv playback is basic, any ideas please 

Hi everyone,I’m hoping someone here can help me troubleshoot an issue with my Sonos Beam. Overnight, it stopped working properly with my LG Web OS TV.Here’s what’s happening:The Beam is connected via HDMI eARC, but it no longer auto-plays sound when the TV is on (even though auto-play is enabled in the Sonos app). I can only get sound if I manually select the TV as the source in the app. Our universal remote, which worked perfectly yesterday, can no longer control the Beam’s volume. I’ve tried reconnecting several IR remotes in the app, but none of them work.What I’ve tried so far:Resetting the TV and the Beam. Turning both devices off, unplugging them, and disconnecting all cables. Ensuring Simplink (CEC) is activated on the TV. Testing the HDMI eARC cable and another speaker with this TV — they worked fine. Testing the HDMI eARC cable with another TV and speaker — no issues there either.The TV recognizes the Beam on HDMI port 2, but when I test the connection in the Sonos app, it say

We have 20 foot high flat (not vaulted) ceiling. We have the Arc with 2 Era 100. The sound is terrible. It echoes and we can’t understand people talking in movies, the news, etc. Music doesn’t seem to sound too bad. Should we get the Beam or the new Arc? I called support line twice and both just read from a script and can’t tell me what we can do or buy to fix this. 

Watching TV with Sonos Arc, a powerful bang and sparkling sound appeared from Arc. I sounded like the whole speaker exploded, it was no sparks but I sounded terribly frightening. Speaker shut down, the I turned Arc on again and it sounded like before. Have anyone experienced this before ? I have two Arcs and the one that had this strange/undefinable loud sparking for 3 seconds, is a new/refurbished Sonos Speaker from Sonos Holland.    

Just got my new Sonos Arc Ultra/ Sub Gen 4/ 2 Era 300. Will be grateful if there is any article explain steps by step system configuration as Home Theater for first time.

I’ve got a client who would like to have rear surround and surround/height using 4 in ceiling speakers in his house with 2 AMP’s in conjunction with an Arc Ultra.  Is this possible or would it be better to just join the 4 speakers on one AMP to get the surround only?  It would be great for Sonos to be able to do 7.x and Atmos systems using their existing lineup of products rather than being stuck in the 5.x/simulated surround realms.  It would open a lot of doors in mid/high end retrofit applications.

Hi! Anyone else have a problem with two subs on the same system playing worse than one sub?I have the arc soundbar and a sub gen 3 and sub gen 4. When I connect both subs to the same area they play worse than just one. Sounds like they cancel each other out. Any tips on how to fix this?

I don't have a TV. And I use the Dolby Atmos for Home Theater mode to pass through the audio to the soundbar when there is Dolby Atmos content.The Sonos app displays Dolby Atmos from the HDMI source, and the sound plays well. But one problem is that the volume is too low. When I watch Apple Music Dolby Atmos on the Sonos app, the volume is usually really satisfying at around 15. But when I watch Dolby Atmos on my PC, I have to turn it up to 40-50. I asked Sonos support about this, and they said that they can't help me because they don't officially support connections to PCs, but not to TVs.I set all the volumes on my PC to 100, but the problem is that the volume co
