Arc Ultra is making TV unusable.

Hi all, I bought an Arc Ultra about a month ago and hooked it up to my Hisense TV.

I have it plugged into the eARC port, CEC and all that is turned on. The only other thing plugged into the TV is an Apple TV 4K which is how we watch everything on the TV. About once per day the TV shuts off. The audio comes through the soundbar but you can’t actually use the TV again until you unplug it and plug it back in.

Anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks.

Just to say too @jimplachy - there are online reports of HiSense TV’s powering off randomly - see this example link:

One of several I came across in a google search.

Hope that helps.

Any firmware updates for the TV available?

Unplug everything for a couple minutes, to let them have a fresh start.

I can’t see this issue as being related to the Arc Ultra as its connection is ‘from’ the TV to the soundbar (Audio is output/returned to the soundbar) and not the other way around.

So the TV powering itself off is either down to the TV, or the Apple TV. I would look closer at those two products to begin with and maybe go onto speak with HiSense TV support.

But it didn’t start doing this until I added the soundbar.

Did you have another soundbar connected prior to this? - if not, then I’d still suspect there is an issue upstream with either the TV, or Apple TV. The fact you’ve connected a soundbar now to the eARC port is quite likely just bringing this issue to your attention.
