Soundbar no longer works with television since app upgrade

I had an issue with my sub not connecting after the update.  I have given up on getting that to work for now.  I then noticed my volume buttons were not working.  I have reset the Playbar and reconnected to the app.  I tell it to use the TV volume IR for controls.  It asks me to hit the Volume Up button.  It recognized that I pressed the button and says it’s now programmed.  When I hit the Volume Up button, it does nothing.  When I hit the Volume Down button, the volume goes down.  This was all working fine before I tried to fix the issue with the sub connecting.  It’s all gone terribly wrong since then.  I have had to turn the Playbar off and use the TV sound for now. Anyone else see this issue?  Am I the only person using a Playbar with a Sony XBR TV?

In the new Sonos app i can’t delete the surround speakers (One SL).I want to do this because I would replace the One SL for the ERA 300 to be the surround speakers. the message in the app is no network found and that’s wrong because I can play music over all the speakers.

since this rediculous change to the system I can’t listen to the audio on my sound bar while watching tv?this morning I waiting for 1hr & 8mins for a customer serivce person whose English was marginal - she was of NO Help - my total wastede time was 1hr 47 mins!!I’ve had my system for quite awhile & never had an issue like this - no what do I do?!

Woke up to sub not being connected. Hardware update available 16.1.1, typical installation issues occurred. Two total shutdowns and restarts later, all hardware again online showing 16.1.1 but am still being prompted for update available.  

After days of the app telling me my speakers weren't on the network, they finally have shown back up. But now my Living Room, which is set up as a Home Theater system (Arc, 2 300's, and Sub) will play tv sound alway a through the Arc and sometimes through the 300's and Sub, but always shows the living room as music. Anyone know why this junk app now won't treat that room as a theater like it always has and insists it is looking for music? I'm sooooo sick of this. $3k of speakers in this house and 80% of the time they don't show up on the system since this app update and when they do show up, something major is messed up. Over 5 hours on the phone (half of that on hold) and they want to insist it's my router even though the setup worked mainly fine for years before this update. 

Hi everyone.  I am stumped! We have successfully used TruePlay multiple times for all of the rooms in our house and recently I wanted to redo it for our home theatre (Arc, Era 300s and 2 subs).  When I tried on my iPhone 13 miini I received an error message that there was too much noise in the room.  I tried running it again with everything off and got the same message.  I then tried on an iPhone 14 and received the same message.  Both phones had their cases off, do not have lint in them, and tests were performed in a nearly silent room.  I also turned off Bluetooth. I am not sure what else to try.  Any suggestions? As I mentioned above, the phones are able to use TruePlay in every other room and also successfully performed TruePlay in our theatre in the past.

For context; I'm still on 16.1 with my app and speakers. I also prevented auto update and any communication between my system and Sonos through my DNS resolver ( except audio). I wanted to buy some extra surround speakers for my office. But since I probably encounter issues when adding surround speakers with the "old" app, I suspend the buy. Because I would like to keep a good functioning system. So Sonos f'ed up the new app and because of it it also lost my sales. And like this I will never buy the Ace… Good job mr. Pence. With your short term vision! But hey! Everything for black numbers on the reports and shareholders!

I have checked the community and I think this topic is not answered. With the sonos arc, sub and two era 100 setup, which are touching the couch and mounted on the wall, the direction of these should be against the TV or diagonally to the listener. Aditional info:Distance to sonos arc is 3,8m.Distance between era 100 is 3mDistance for each era 100 to listener 1,4m. thanks for your answers and sorry if its duplicated.

The most recent sonos update ruined the connection with my TV. It’s only good for music now and I don’t listen to music at home. How do I undo the update?

I’m looking at buying a Ray Soundbar but want to know if I can connect my 2 x play 1 speakers to create surround sound please? 

In addition to Apple TV, my system consists of the Arc soundbar, subwoofer and Five in an adjoining room. The system has been stable since I purchased and configured a year ago. Recently (there may have been Apple and Sonos updates) the system does not output audio. Checked Apple TV settings and audio out is set to TV. I can direct audio temporarily to Air Pods but unable to stream sound to the Sonos system. I have a 1 GB ziply fiber connection and have rebooted wifi router, Apple TV etc. with no change. Desperate and it is impossible to connect with tech support at Sonos!

I can’t connect my Sonos ARC SL to my Samsung QN85. It’s attached to the HDMI ARC port. the TV sees a connection but shows as unknown device with turned off sign. I’ve reset the TV, Sonos, and used two different HDMI cables. The Sonos works by itself by wifi and the mobile app, however, no connection to TV. It was working for two years with the same TV.Any suggestions? if it needed service or parts, how and where can I get it? I live in Houston, Texas.thanks

Have the arc and a sub and 2 wireless speakers. It's been working just fine until my wife unplugged 1 wireless speaker and now only the bar is working and I cant get it back in sync. How do I restart to get all connected again? 

New App issue?Realised last night watching a film that my Era300’s were not acting as surrounds to my Arc and Sub. I have now tries over 10 times to add them but keep getting error message.So fa I have tried:unplugged and powered back up.Factory reset both speakers, set back up on my system.Rebooted router. Signed out of Sonos app on iPad and iPhone. deleted and reinstalled app.I have the speakers on my system and can set up as a stereo pair but no joy as surrounds.Help!

I recently purchased a Sonos Beam gen 2 and sub mini. The setup was easy but the Beam sounds terrible. There is very frequent low end distortion during the dialogue and in general it sounds bad. It is very low mid heavy and lacks detail.I have run the Trueplay tuning multiple time using multiple different methods, all sound bad.Has anybody had this problem and resolved it?

So, I have an ARC, a sub and am currently using 2 X Play:1’s as my rear surrounds.  I’d like to upgrade this, and was considering the Era 100’s….but my friend is ditching their Sonos system and I have a chance at a GREAT deal on 2 Play:3’s. Wondering if they’ll do the ATMOS job as well as the newer Era’s. I also have MANY other components,  like 4 X One SL’s, Roam, Playbase, 1 Connect, 4 Amps,  2 ZP100s etc.So, What do you all think? Thanks for any help, suggestions or guidance. Cheers! 

Can connect only one of 3 Sonos components to the TV output. How can add the components.

Nothing works anymore after the latest update. I can not change the volume on my TV or listen to Spotify. It says all my products are not connected to the app since I made the update. I have a Samsung S20.

How can I turn off Trueplay for my home theatre, my iPhone 7 is no longer supported, the new app just crashes and refuses to open on my chrome book, there is no option on the new app on my amazon fire tablet, and I cant seem to find it on the windows 10 desktop app? 

Hi AllI purchased SYMFONISK 594.879.47 but the app update server seems to be down and I am unable to get the updater and complete my speaker setup. tried WIFI setup security and tethering but I get the same error code 18 and I wonder if a worldwide update attack is being carried out on SONOS, because I got 30 once by chance. I wonder if this is a problem that has been happening since the previous model. I have an arc connected to a Samsung ( two year old model) TV via the eARC port . Everything works fine except when I want to use a pair of headphones via blutooth … I need to do this for late viewing to avoid disturbing sleepers ..The headphones gets paired with the TV without problems . Once connected , it just works fir a few seconds before the Arc reconnects itself . I have spoken to Sonos support a year or so ago but there was no resolution but apparently was flagged up .  Have spoken to Samsung support who says it’s an issue with the Arc . They say there isn’t a problem with their own soundbars and suggested I change over !!  Yeah right …A cumbersome work around is to connect an Amazon firestick and works with the headphone once paired .. Is this something that can be resolved without needing  the firestick ?  

Hi All, I’m using Sonos Arc with the LG CineBeam HU710PW projector. Connected to HDMI 2 (eARC/ARC). The projector specs and manual says it’s eARC passes uncompressed audio including Atmos. All I’m getting is PCM 2.0 for sound and in no way Atmos which is available on quite a few Netflix movies. What am I’m doing wrong?
