Technology that needs advanced engineering Sonos Tech and Research and Development:Great Break Through in a system improvement to accommodate everyone especiall those lacking an internet provider:make a new sonos connect device that has a usb input to accommodate an external hard drive of possibly up to 1TB of data so a user can play their library directly through the component and avoid the need for usb capable modems or NAD devices 2) make the sonos connect capable of connecting to a users cell phone data via username and password to enable streaming of radio if desired 3) bring back the hand held controller so sonos is totally operational and functional without the need for a phone app or computer app I believe these ideas are worthy of consideration and would make the product more accessible for people in remote locations and who wish to not store music on a computer or even need a computer to enjoy their music libraries like we did with our LP’s and CD’s and Cassettes This product
So I am ecstatic over using a new play 5 gen 2 as my sweet little hi fi compact setup in my bedroom for playing vinyl and digital there. sonos does a better job translating vinyl to the digital realm and back than any other sub $1000 system. I bought and returned a few, including the Bluesound. play 5 gen 2 a BIG step up in SQ. But I now have a 2 month problem that Sonos is aware of and won’t fix. my turntable has always had better than cd fidelity at source level set to level 9. well now level 9 is with a bug and won’t work. levels 1-8 work fine, but at a cost of lower fidelity from the digital volume reduction, making it pointless to spin records. yes, level 10 is still operative, but only if you select 9. selecting 10 leaves you at the last level you were on. thus 9 is now skipped altogether. the end result is if you toggle from 8 to 9, what is really happening is (listening) you are going from 8 to 10. closing app and reopening verifies all this. why the big deal? bec
I cannot connect my Sonos One second generation to my Echo dots as a group! I want my dots in the lounge and dining room to play the same as the kitchen Sonos one!
I just got the Arc but havent gotten a chance to set it up yet. I have heard that surround sound over Nintendo Switch isn't available yet. Has anyone with an Arc tried this? Does anyone know if there is going to be an update for this?
What equipment do I need to buy to be able to separate my Sonos into two systems? My new Sonos arc is not compatible with my original play 5 and my bridge. I understand I can still use this speaker, but only by itself. Do I need something connected to my router to support the arc, plus other newer speakers I am using?
I called customer service on November 6th and explained that I’m intersted in buying a Sonos system and seeing that Black Friday was coming up I wanted to know if Sonos would price match if the products I bought would be discounted during Black Friday. I was told there is a 45-day price guarantee, and decided to buy the system on November 6th.Around November 24th or so the Black Friday discounts was announced and when I contacted customer service again on November 25th the price guarantee turned out to be a 45-day money back guarantee, which is not the same thing. I explained my case to the customer service representative who told me that I need to talk to the sales team. He registered a case for me and I got a mail saying it could take up to 7 days before I hear back because of high contact volumes.I waited for 14 days, heard nothing back and then tried to call you. I waited for 2 hours in phone queue before hanging up. At the moment I’ve been waiting for 34 minutes. The 45-day return
It’s almost 2021...add an Apple Watch app already!!!
On the app - top of the rooms list. Would be very convenient if several speakers going when going to bed /out etc.
So currently I have the Sonos Amp hardwired to 4 ceiling speakers in my living room and then 2 Sonos Ones in my kitchen and dining room I’m debating upgrading my current vizio surround setup to the arc and adding 2 additional rear One’s I have a 2017 Model Sony XBR830B Is it even possible to pass the Atmos to the amp from the arc and have it create that effect.. or in the very least if I have the arc + amp, am I able to use the ceiling speakers as general surrounds adding onto the arc and rear One’s? if I'm not getting that Dolby Atmos from either my TV or the arc, would I be better in just saving the money and buying the Play sound bar? Any input would be appreciated, thanks
I ordered the home entertainment system ($1800+ ) on 11/30/20 and never received the Arc. It is impossible to reach customer service and no response to emails. Sonos needs to improve it’s support if it wants to enhance sales. I intend to return what i received and cancel my order if sonos does not respond soon to. Y issues
You’ve added the ability to pair 2 subs to HT setups. This is awesome and works well. I have multiple rooms with a stereo pair of Gen2 Play:5’s and a sub. A couple of those rooms are large and could also benefit from an additional sub, but this is still not possible. I would purchase additional subs if this feature was added.
I can’t read any of the replies to questions in the forums. Why?
Is anyone else frustrated by the subpar service integration of Apple Music in Sonos? It’s a seriously limited integration. Why can’t Sonos do better?
Since all devices have a Bluetooth module, and apparently you all don’t want to disable it after setup, might as well make use of it.Variable transmission power level: This allows Bluetooth to play a bit nicer with other 2.4GHz devices. LE Audio: Make it another audio sink, allowing one to broadcast from apps that don’t support Chromecast. And who knows, maybe mesh audio in the future? LC3 audio codec.
Hello, The Sonos app / controler allows to easily disable the Wifi of the Sonos players. It seems that not a lot of multiroom systems allow this and in my opinion this is one of the advantages of the Sonos systems. Indeed, for the ones like me who want to limit electromagnetic waves (precautionary principle) or just give priority to Ethernet connection, it would be an appreciated functionality. Some of the new Sonos players like the Sonos One integrate bluetooth capabilities. My wish is to have the possibility to disable the bluetooth. I know that it is supposed to be used only initially (at the first installation of the product) but some have noticed that Bluetooth waves are still emitted by the device after the set up phase. My goal is not to start a debate regarding the impact of electromagnetic waves but to ask for this ability (something common on a lot devices especially smartphones). Thank you for reading this, Cédric
2 weeks ago I had a system upgrade in my house with 2 Sonos Port’s. Nice. Works well. I gave my credit card to Reel Time Sight and Sound in San Juan Capistrano to order the products and for their labor. Last week I noted a charge of $322.18 on the credit card and come to find out it was for a Sonos Move that I didn’t order. I received it 2 days later, never opened it and I tried to return it but the Sonos site would not allow me to print a return label (WHY?). I’ve tried numerous times to call support but I’m placed on terminal hold for over 1 hour. Sad! Does anyone have a recommendation on how I would return this product that I never ordered in the first place. I emailed the CEO, ……..like that will work BTW contacted Reel Time Sight and Sound 4 times (as they held the credit card) and they seem to care about you before the sale, not after. You can do better, Jon.
Hi all, I updated to the new S2 app and found that the «Pause all» button no longer was in the System tab. Every morning I play different music in 5 different rooms. When I leave for work I need to Pause all rooms. Is the button really gone, or am I not looking in the correct place? If it’s gone, I want it back - please. This is just like when Sonos moved the alarm clock to Settings (using non-English Sonos app)… why do they do these things?
Sonos really need to consider allowing chromecasting on the Sonos One (Gen 2) This is really limiting android users. I hope this can be looked into and a software update follow. Thanks,
The white sonos arc should have white cables as standard the same as the white speakers. It looks ridiculous and having to buy white ones is both a waste of materials and profiteering by sonos on an already expensive piece of kit.shame on you.
What is wrong with this company, really? It was a good software company who started making decent speakers, and years ago the devices were so easy to install, operate. Now, owning a 2000 euro home network, cutting edge Cisco technology, and made it accessible for every ancient and brand new device with PERFECT wifi in every single corner of my house, Sonos DOESN’T work. I owned a series of components from the Play1, Play 5 and connect, which were perfect for the earlier years, then I upgraded to a more expensive setup with separate massive amplifier and so on. So I thought, let’s shop IKEA and I bought 2 Symfonisk’s. I saw on Youtube they were based on my previous favorited Play1’s but boy, how was I wrong. The apps are horrible, S1, S2, WHAT? They show up on both apps, and still AFTER the steps finally asking me to connect back my phone/iPad to my home network (so the app can search for the speakers I guess), bang, no connection, flickering colors, everything.Connecting them with a LAN
Hi there! Well first of all – sorry, if this feature or function already exists. And if, I’m not able ty find it – then please guide me I have playlists holding for a few titles to over 3.000. My best guess is that I’m not the only one out there. Playlist containing at big amount music, pod cast etc. across services – that you may no longer use, result in broken “links”, can’t play etc. create frustration and it may usually end up with the playlist is going to be deleted. And Yes… The chaos that is create in my playlists is – by the end of the day, create all by myself. But what if… I could take back the control? But what if… I could clean my playlist up, the same title appearing more than ones on your playlists, consolidate the titles / music across playlist(s), Service(s) or type of music and move to an existent or a new playlist? That will be something - right?! No - It will be [BiP] awesome :) I hope any at Sonos want to consider my feature request and hope anyone who is readi
Anyone else find that the customer support for Sonos is literally non-existent? I have been on hold for over 2.5 hours… It’s absolutely crazy I have never had to hold this long for anything, without at least offering a call back. And I have a question that needs to be answered today, email option says someone will respond in 7 days….
Just that. Making oldest comments the default is such a bizarre choice for a support forum.
Sonos, I feel the rollout of the End of Support for legacy systems was not well executed. I currently own 2 play 5 Gen 1 speakers that I was very happy with. I chose the recycle option to upgrade to the new generation of Play 5 speaker. While I did see the disclaimer to inform me that the speakers would no longer receive software updates, I did not understand at the time, that the speaker would then be unusable in any capacity. At minimum, I thought I could use the Aux input to drive the speakers with an analog signal from an iPhone or iPad. Given these facts and the changing policy about end of support, I feel the users should be given the option to reverse the recycle option. I currently have more than 2 weeks left on my termination date. I would hope that Sonos could create a software update that could reverse the “bricking” of my 2 play 5 speakers. This would go a long way to at least minimize the damage that has already been done to the reputation of Sonos.
Hi. Is it possible to turn off the “your listening to sonos hd radio...” identification announcements that are played frequently while listening to the “paid” commercial free hd radio service? I’d like interruption free listening, after all isn’t that what I’m paying for?. I don’t need to be reminded about who is providing my radio service, I already know. Thanks!
