Finally, yesterday, a pair of Sonos Era 100s arrived. I have been configuring a pair of Sonos Era 100s as surround speakers on my Sonos Beam Gen 2 and have been playing Dolby Atmos Music and Dolby Atmos demo content to evaluate the experience. Overall, I am satisfied, but there is one major drawback. When the side surround channel is played, sound is output from both the side speakers of the Sonos Beam and the Era 100s. The problem is that the sound of the Era 100s is so loud that it overpowers the sound output from the side speakers of the soundbar. In other words, I could hardly perceive the positional separation when the rear surround channel was played and when the side surround channel was played. When the rear surround channel was played, sound was only output from the rear speakers. Yes, this is correct. However, when the side surround channel was played, sound was output from both the soundbar and the rear speakers, but the rear speakers were still so loud that it was difficult to
I am using Sonos Beam Gen 2 and Sonos Era 100 as surround speakers. Sonos Era 100 supports Quick Tune. So even though I am an Android smartphone user, I can enjoy TruePlay on Era 100. The problem is that when I configure Sonos Beam Gen 2 and Sonos Era 100 as a home theater, the TruePlay option disappears. This is because Sonos Beam Gen 2 does not support Quick Tune.
Everytime I open the app it now says it can't find my system despite often a few of my speakers being on and actually streaming bbc sounds. If I wait around 10-15 minutes often the app eventually shows the system and if I'm lucky I can change what the speakers are playing. Everything takes sooooooo long to react, and changing the volume in the app is almost impossible. Changing the speakers individually or trying to group them takes a few goes and is not really worth the amount of time it takes. Luckily one of my speakers is a Roam and I use Alexa when I can. I hate the app and wont be buying Sonos again despite currently having speakers in every room! SO FRUSTRATING! IF I downgrade to Sonos 1 I can't use it for a couple of my speakers!!! Really pissed iff with it
I only have Sonos Beam Gen 2 soundbar. I do not have rear or separate woofers. So this is probably a bug that only affects people who use the soundbar alone. However, I can definitely say that it is very critical and very urgent. Because this bug has a huge negative impact on the listening experience. For example, if there is an explosion behind you, the woofer will not work. And if there is an airplane explosion in the air, the woofer will not work.Just play this test video. You will intuitively see what I am talking about.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LVSQiUX1dp3BEmQ6aDHZDOi7RG9zReHf/view?usp=sharingIf you use the Hi-Fi cast app, download it and change the .mp4 extension to .m4a. Then you can cast to the sound bar.
I found a quick solution to play my IPod Video generation 5 through Sonos. I purchased an inexpensive 30pin to usb connection at Amazon. I connected it through the USB port of my TV that is connected to Sonos. Not only am I able to play my iPod through my entire Sonos system, I can visually see the content on the television if I prefer. Since I have an LG TV, I was able to download the remote app on my phone, therefore I can forward, pause, and play away from the room.
So two questions about my Sonos Beam and Sub.Sonos Beam and Sub keep reducing in volume when I am playing music. I’ve reset the system and it’s still doing the same thing. The same Beam won’t connect to my TV via HDM. I’ve the cable in the right port and still nothing, I also tried the digital port.
Are there any plans to bring YouTube music compatibility to SVC? I see in the forum this has been a recurring topic and something the community are looking for, but haven’t seen confirmation one way or another from Sonos. I was ready to cave and just use Google Assistant instead so I could at least play my music with voice commands, then discovered Sonos won’t let me use Google Assistant with most of my Sonos devices. Sonos represents itself out as compatible with YouTube Music but it really isn’t feeling that way…
As stated above. Music simply stops playing half way through a song. Before anyone says “it’s your network” or “check your wifi settings” etc etc all other lossless services perform normally. This seems to be an issue with Apple Music and has been going on for months now. Is anyone else experiencing similar issues, specifically when playing Apple Music via the Sonos app so as to get lossless.
Hi guys today I payed $22.99 for lifetime purchase on streaming music no adds etc etc and it’s nothing but terrible not user friendly how can I get my money back very disappointed from Sonos
I recently purchased an Arc Ultra for my Samsung TV. I connected the HDMI cord to the tv and it works great, but when I turn off the TV I am no longer able to play music through the Arc via airplay. When I unplug the Arc, I’m able to discover the speaker over airplay, but it immediately goes away once I start using my TV and never returns. Does anyone have any advice for how I can get the Arc to connect to airplay without resetting each time?
I’m watching television and my era is not activated, but it’s making a crackling noise on and off intermittently as if it’s listening for my voice, or maybe the tv sound is activating it. I shut off the voice feature and it’s still occurring. Anyone else with this issue?
Having the same problem as other posters. I cannot play anything from my Apple Music collection through the app. It buffers endlessly or does not respond at all. But I can stream via airplay to my One SLs, sub and arc. Other sources work fine through the app - Sound cloud, Sonos radio, Spotify, etc. This problem arose some time in the last 6-8 weeks because that was the last time I used the system and it worked fine then.
Updated today to 80.15.01 Android + the latest update on the SONOS Beam Controller.I have my Music Library on a DLNA server (Twonky) in my local LAN.I still encounter queue-related issues:browse to Music Library → Albums: I can, indeed add an entire Album to the currently playing queue browse to Music Library → Folders: I cannot add a folder to the currently playing queue (exactly like in my other post where I reported this) browse to Music Library → Imported Playlists (where I see the .m3u files that I have in my library) go to one playlist, hit play: it works fine go to another playlist, go to context menu, hit Add to End of Queue: I get an error message: “Unable to add to queue” I stopped here, for now that’s all the free QA work that I’m willing to provide to SONOS. As I previously said, I’ll keep using the SONOS Beam to listen to TuneIn Radio, Spotify Podcasts and personal Music Library. It does it’s job, headache is manageable, especially considering that since it’s a single pro
By far the most useful way I found to create a playlist was to build the songs in the queue, listen to them and shuffle the order until I was satisfied and then save the playlist. will this capability be returning?
My Sonos 5: gen 2 is not connecting to my Wi-Fi. I have tried everything, but still won’t connect. any ideas?
I am running an android phone and installed the new app last week. Ever since, it has been taking 5 minutes or more just to start the app. It is unusable. I have tried clearing cache and clearing all data then connecting it again, but still no difference. The old app loaded in seconds. Is anyone else finding this?
Hi,question. Did anyone notice that their paired Sonos Era 100s (or possibly 300s) did not update properly?the app said I had firmware update for my devices (shame it does not list which devices, as for example my current WiFi setup includes a sub as well). The notification does not say what is being updated and there is no link to a post but, fine, I can spend time searching for a post when I’m Ona. Bathroom break, right? (I’m being a bit sarcastic here, though in reality, I can live with that unless something starts to act fidgety after the update).but, my system supposedly updated and now it shows that only one Era 100 has the current build installed. Pushing for updates within the app only gives me “your system is up to date” response - which is not true.I did restart the speakers and the sub - disconnected form power supply and let them rest for a bit. I checked internet connection. And?still, as visible on my screenshot, one 100 remains using the older firmware.Sure, I could unpa
I applied the latest update on April 9, 2025. The sleep timer is yet again missing. Moderator edit: Removed picture containing Sonos ID and no useful info.
I’m building a new house and wife doesn’t want a soundbar near the frame tv. (She wants a clean mantle for decorations..etc. Would 6 In-Ceiling 8” Speakers by Sonos and Sonance wired to a SONOS AMP (inside built-in near TV) work? I figured the TV’s eARC HDMI to AMP and phantom center with Trueplay would make the set up work. I would have three speakers as left channel and three as right channel and the AMP set to mono. No need for a crazy set up since we have a media room. Living room would be for casual TV watching and sports. Thanks in advance!
I have a somewhat large music library of about 40000 tracks on a networked drive. Since May 2024 I have struggled to play segments of this library, on shuffle, using any combination of apps available to me. I have mobile (Android), desktop (Windows) and web.I don’t think I need to go into the performance of the mobile app (updated to most recent version). The desktop app, which I have been using as a failsafe since the library fix last fall, is finicky and has decided it wants to do a continuous loop of asking to update the firmware although I am on the latest version. When I say yes to updating it tells me I am updated already. I have to exit and re-open multiple times to get it to (re-)work correctly (often while music has already started playing). The web app currently works the best of the three for basic music functioning (play, forward, back, volume, skipping) BUT then the queue is useless as it does not keep up with what is currently playing - there is no tracking of where you are
I know that the Sonos does not want to give any support for Tunein therefore I’ve decided to try with SonosRadio, for which I hope Sonos IS RESPONSABLE of the development. But the problem is always the same. I try to listen to italian Radio24 station, but when it tries to connect to the streem it says “welcome to tunein” 😶. after that silence and then the same loop “welcome to tunein”.To find the radio go to “sonos radio” > explore radio > by place > Europe > Italy > Lombardia > Milano > Radio 24The diagnostic nuber is: **********.BTW, if I connect with Tunein app or the radio24 app, connected to the same wifi as my sonos beam, the streams work without any problem.Moderator edit: recorded and removed diagnostics number, combined posts.
Why can’t we swap using a button on the headphones? It is an inconvenience to go find my phone, scroll to the Sonos app, wait for it to open and load, select the headphones, then push the swap button. Ridiculous. This is all not to mention that it is absurd that they created these and you can’t listen to them at the same time the Arc is playing. They should integrate into the Sonos WiFi Network and sync audio like any other Sonos device. We don’t need just another Bluetooth headphone device that looks like AirPod Max
I play a continuous three-hour white noise track in my bedroom 24/7 (well, ideally). The track is by itself, no playlists, and the repeat is set to single track. After it repeats a couple of times, Sonos changes the track to anything else in my Spotify account (which is usually tech house and as you can see is pretty much the opposite of what I want to listen while sleeping).I have reseted all my Sonos devices, the router, the network in general, and nothing. I have even disconnected my Spotify account and nothing. I have tried playing the track directly from Sonos and directly from Spotify. Same thing. Oh, and I pay for Spotify.Has anybody experienced this? Or maybe somebody can suggest something? Anything…? I keep waking up at 4ish am with techno music thumping my walls. Thanks!
Hi allOur current set up for our Living room TV where the family watches anything from daily news to movie nights uses the following Sonos products: Playbar + Sub (Gen 2) + Amp (wired to 2 in-ceiling rear speakers) The products are obviously from a while back and wondered when choosing from the “Ultimate Immersive Set with Arc Ultra”would upgrading to the Ultimate Immersive Set with Arc Ultra be a significantly recognised difference (e.g. kids movie nights); or would a single item provide a big enough improvement i.e. Arc Ultra OR Sub 4 OR Era 300 (pair); any other thoughts / adviceThe only reason I am considering an upgrade is because we have a Play5 Gen1 in our system which is not compatible with the Sonos S2 app and we can get a discount if we upgrade. Saying that the discount does not expire so there is no rush. Thank you in advance for any thoughts / advice :)
My wife likes to watch TV at a much lower volume than I do. Due to my hearing loss, I bought the Sonos Ace headphones so that I can watch TV at a higher volume with her while using the Sonos Arc Ultra. Before purchasing Ace headphones, I asked my dealer this specific question. The tech responded positively saying that both the Ace and the Arc Ultra can simultaneously play the TV sound. After installing the Ace headphones, my dealer verified that Ace & Ultra Arc will not play sound at the same time. This is the main reason I bought the Sonos Ace headphones.I also bought a Move 2 wireless speaker. The Move 2 has the ability to play simultaneously with any sound group (Port, Ultra Arc etc.). It would seem that the same simultaneous capability of the Move 2 could be applied to Ace Headphones as well.Looking forward to a quick feature update from Sonos on this issue so I can begin using my Ace Headphones as intended.Thank you!
