My wife likes to watch TV at a much lower volume than I do. Due to my hearing loss, I bought the Sonos Ace headphones so that I can watch TV at a higher volume with her while using the Sonos Arc Ultra.

Before purchasing Ace headphones, I asked my dealer this specific question.  The tech responded positively saying that both the Ace and the Arc Ultra can simultaneously play the TV sound.  After installing the Ace headphones, my dealer verified that Ace & Ultra Arc will not play sound at the same time.  This is the main reason I bought the Sonos Ace headphones.

I also bought a Move 2 wireless speaker. The Move 2 has the ability to play simultaneously with any sound group (Port, Ultra Arc etc.).  It would seem that the same simultaneous capability of the Move 2 could be applied to Ace Headphones as well.

Looking forward to a quick feature update from Sonos on this issue so I can begin using my Ace Headphones as intended.

Thank you!

Hello @Don B., welcome to the Sonos Community!

I am sorry to hear you were misinformed by your dealer about the Sonos Ace capabilities and that it is not working as you expected.

I’ve marked this thread as a feature request and forwarded it to the appropriate teams for consideration.

Thank you for the post and feedback, it is much appreciated.

Thank you, Sotiris. Since this an obvious Sonos update opportunity, hopefully it will be added sooner rather than later.

Best ~don

I agree that the Ace should be able to work with the TV sound bar. For me (I’m 74 and my hearing isn’t what it used to be), having headphones makes a big difference. I strain to hear the dialog. I can’t put the soundbar volume high enough without disturbing others who are watching.

I can’t believe these can’t do this! What’s the point of having Sonos headphones that don’t integrate and sync with the Sonos WiFi network? Just another pair of Bluetooth headphones? I have a dozen. Many are better than these. And all TVs from the last 10 years have Bluetooth built in so no need for Sonos headphone to have Bluetooth pushed from Arc.
Also, why can’t we swap using a button on the headphones? It is an inconvenience to go find my phone scroll to the Sonos app, wait for it to open and load, select the headphones, then push the swap button. Ridiculous.

I seem to remember my old homecinema receiver also cutting sound to the speakers once headphones were connected. Looks like a normal thing to have. With Sonos teh soundbar would need to be able to handle two sound streams at once. Not sure this is possible.
