I recently purchased an Arc Ultra for my Samsung TV. I connected the HDMI cord to the tv and it works great, but when I turn off the TV I am no longer able to play music through the Arc via airplay. When I unplug the Arc, I’m able to discover the speaker over airplay, but it immediately goes away once I start using my TV and never returns. Does anyone have any advice for how I can get the Arc to connect to airplay without resetting each time?
I assume everything is on the same WIFI right?
A quick fix could be, remove HDMI from the TV and turn off the Arc Ultra (remove power) for 5min. Put HDMI back in the eARC input (remember the TV must be off) Turn everything back on. Takes 2-4min before your Ultra has Wifi again. Try if that helps.
You can also restart your router at the same time, after you have turned off your Ultra and TV. (Wait to turn on the TV and Ultra until your router is up and running again)

I have a Samsung and Arc Ultra myself and have no problems, can play airplay anytime, with the TV on or off.
I do live in a large apartment complex and purchase WIFI though a shared system across the building (Wirestar). Maybe that is the issue? I don’t have any issues using AirPlay on my Sonos One.
In addition, the “TV Setup” function in the Sonos settings for my Arc keeps experiencing errors. Is this even needed if the Arc already works with the TV plugged in?
