There will be an interesting addition to our Apps soon via this latest update - We’re rolling out a new WiFi signal strength feature over the coming weeks. When connected to a WiFi network, your Sonos products will now show their WiFi signal strength in the Settings tab of the app. Additionally, you can now find detailed networking information for a Sonos product connected to your WiFi network.Wonder what the SonosNet products will show? Nothing?
I have two Sonos speakers with Alexa (beam and one gen2).I've created a routine with an announcement to be played on all the speakers at a certain time, but it is not working. also testing the routine is not making any announcement. If a do a manual announcement it is working correctly. I have seen other threads about this problem but I haven’t find a solution.
My setup is Arc + Sub x 2. I just sold my 2 Ones as my rear surrounds and pre-ordered 2 Era 300s. Will my shelves in these pictures disrupt the upward firing tweeters if one of my rear Era 300 is mounted on the rear wall? Or is it not enough to worry about? I saw something online saying if you have to mount <2 ft of the ceiling, to mount them upside down. I can move these shelves relatively easily, if needed.*note, don’t mind the yoga mat and roller in the corner. Those will be moved.
Hello, I just wanted to see if anyone else has noticed the lack of any sort of sound from the front section/grill of the Era 300? I appreciate this might be expected but just wanted to check.
Hi,I would like to make a feature request to maintain Dolby Atmos when speakers are grouped. My setup: I have a large open plan kitchen, family, dining room. In the family room (TV area), I have the Arc, 2 x One SLs and the Sub Gen 3. In the kitchen-dining area I have another pair of Ones. When playing music I often play through all the speakers so as to fill the room and get the benefit of the sub.Yesterday, I tried playing Atmos music through the Arc setup which sounds great in the family room area. However, as soon as I add the Ones in the kitchen-dining room area, I lose the Atmos in the family room area. It would be great if the system could continue to play Atmos music through the Arc + One SLs while also playing (stereo) music through the other pair of Ones.Hope that makes sense, Thanks!
Sorry but the SONOS badge on the 300….cringe. Maybe if you could have the speaker vertical it would be ok. Seems this one the badge is disproportionate….guess I’m used to looking at my fives….whatya think? Meh, I will get over it.
I have my turntable hooked up to my 2nd Gen Play 5 and only one channel is displayed on the app, previously both channels were displayed now the Left channel states its Disconnected, I still get sound out of the left channel but the app has it as disconnected. I’ve unplugged the Play 5, put a new cable on the turntable and nothing has changed, any clues on how to fix this. Thanks, Rio
After experiencing this problem for months, I just switched from a Bridge to Boost device (w/ downgraded G1 software install with Sonos staff assistance). However, the cutout still occurred periodically, although a 3-16-23 Sonos diagnostic report showed no interference or other errors (1698750761). Based on other Community discussion, interference or slow wireless speeds would seem likely as a cause (also, perhaps consistent with this, the cutout seems to occur more frequently on Spotify premium and CD direct line than Pandora, which has significantly lower streaming quality).Summary of network settings: Sonos devices on Channel 11. Router setup is Verizon Gateway 3100 (set to Channel 6, 20Mhz; 300Mbps max service), with Boost wired connection via coax (MoCa), located on separate floor and same room as Play5 stereo pair. A second router, AX50 (Channel 1, 20Mhz), is located in a separate room and is devoted to wireless home smart devices. Evaluation w/ a network analyzer app confirms no
I have a 5 AMP system to power my home ceiling speakers. I have them connected to my network via one ethernet connection from one amp (let’s call it amp 1) to my switch. The rest of the amps (2-5) are daisy chained via Ethernet cables from 1->2->3, etc so the entire system is hard wired. I am getting a Sonos sub that I would also like to hard wire into my system. My problem is that the room/amp I want to ethernet connect it to is amp 1.Currently, amp 1 has both ethernet ports taken..one connection to my switch and one ‘beginning’ my daisy chain to the rest of my amps. My question is..can I move my switch/ethernet connection to the amp with an open port?Would the amp now connected to the switch/network now be able to connect itself and output my network to the others or would I have to reset and redo my network to get it all working correctly? Before I change it over, I’d like to know so I don’t break anything. If I would have to do a system reset, I would probably just connect s
The SONOS system will require specific features enabled in a Cisco controller-based wireless system, such as the 2504 WLC, in order for reliable operation wirelessly. Things like Airplay will not function without proper configuration. Here is a list of features enabled on my 2504 Wireless Controller that resolved an ongoing issue where the SONOS One speakers would not “show up” on Airplay lists on my iOS devices. The SONOS app would, however, function properly. After months of sporadic operation, and iterative changes to configurations -- the following features proved to work well: Enable “Broadcast Forwarding” Set AP Multicast Mode to the Group Address of 239.1.1.1 Ensure the mDNS setup includes the “Services” of AirTunes, AppleTV. (There are other Services you can enable in the mDNS>General menu if you’d like) Enable Global Multicast Mode Enable IGMP Snooping Enable MLD Snooping Within the WLAN Configuration: Under Advanced Tab… Uncheck DHCP Addr. Assignment “Required” box.
Hi, I live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and recently I have purchased Sonos move. When I login on to the Sonos app on my iOS device and go to Sonos radio. I just see featured list and browse radio. I do not see Sonos presents or sonos stations. I see under the support section of availability of Sonos radio in United Arab Emirates. So this should not be a problem. What do you think is going on?
Hello,I recently bought 4 Sonos One SL speaker for our design studio. Because of security reasons I wasn't aware of the speaker can't be correct to the company wifi. Has anyone had the same problem or have a clever workaround to connect the speaker?
Hello all you experts!! I am seriously considering purchasing the latest generation of the Brennan (B3) to rip/store/manage/play by CD collection to my Sonos ecosystem. I have read and watched what I can find. I am eager and curious to hear your experience -- how easy was it to setup? How easy to use (play directly/wirelessly to Sonos “rooms”), any issues, etc. Thank you in advance, David
I was just curious with the release of the Sonos Arc and now the all new Era 300’s. When will spatial audio Dolby Atmos come to Sonos Radio HD?
3 hours with Sonos support . Tried everything (fixed max address, changed wifi channel , unique 2,4 wifi band, ) nothing works . My Sonos arc that used to connect well does not connect anymore help . Desperate ☺️ nicolas
I have a Play 5 (first gen) that is not being recognized in the app. I’ve power cycled the Play 5. No luck. I’ve power cycled my wi-fi router. No luck. I’ve connected it via ethernet cable, no luck. I cannot get it to respond in any way and all it does is flash white. I also made sure the updates were performed. Still, all I have is a Play 5 that does not get recognized in the app. Any suggestions?
Please could someone kindly help.. regarding the Era300 wall mounts….are they suitable for rear wall position AND side wall positioning? From looking at the photos of them they look like rear wall only, unless of course there’s sufficient ‘swivel’ movement to still leave a 8” gap between the side edge of the speaker and the wall.thank you
We are building a new home and are looking for pre-wire and configuration advice. The great room will have a TV in the Media Alcove and we hope to have Surround sound in that room. We also hope to have music in the dining and kitchen areas. We will also have a TV and sound in the Den. I currently own Sonos and have had a it configured using an ARC, One (surrounds), and Sub in one zone, and a pair of Fives in the kitchen in a separate zone. This has worked nicely. For this house we envision the following use - 1. Great Room - Surround for TV and sometimes streaming music 2. Kitchen and Dining - streaming music 3. Den - Surround for TV and sometimes streaming music 4. Outside under covered patio - streaming music Great Room - ARC and two surrounds in ceiling with AMP OR 5 speakers in ceiling configured for 5:1 with no ARC. Understand that we need an AMP for in ceiling speakers. Kitchen and Dining - 2 speakers each, or will one pair suffice for the space For Den, we intend on using exi
I am continually frustrated by the lack of support for DTS HD /MA /X A lot of 4K releases have these audio soundtracks and Not Dolby Atmos and although I have the Sonos Flagship Arc I cannot enjoy these movies at their best because I get a message saying audio not supported which then causes me to choose a lower sounding option can you please provide an update so that I and many other users can enjoy our media at its best kind regards Roger Stedman
I’m looking to create a new home cinema, but the screen will not be against a wall so I can’t use a sound bar. I was thinking to 2 Era 300s as rear speakers, a sub and wonder what people would recommend as front speakers on stands or wall mounted? Also, would I also need an Amp as well? Thanks
HiI have spotify duo and want to play at home, but at the same time my wife on spotify app (android)when out . It always cuts out. How do I register two (duo) spotify accounts on the songs? Please adviseThanksSteve
I have to say I am dissapointed by the connectvity quality of Sonos. Asking 400 Euro for Play5Gen 2 and using an 802.11a chipset obsolete chipset in it, is not understandable. I had 4 speakers which worked ok-ish, still with a lot of disconnections and conneections back. And then I added 7 more, so now I have 4 x Play5Gen2 and 7 x Sonos One and it is just horrible:sometimes the app will not see all speakers, even if the speakers are actually playing sometimes the speakers will appear as they need repair, but they will come back to normal randamly sometimes the speakers just randomly disconnect and reconnectIt is a nightmare.Yes, the answer is connect them with ethernet cable but they lose the advantage against Bose. If I need to run cables everywere I will not chose Sonos anymore. But again, creating a product like Play5Gen2 and using 802.11a chipset it just does not make sense. 802.11a is so old, that my hotspot doesn’t even have it in the list.
Hello,In case anyone has a network problem, this is my story. My Sonos 4xSpeaker (1), connect:Amp, mini Sub, Sub and playbar all working fine.Go on holiday for 10 days return and home network down all of Sonos, Alexa, light bulbs, computers, iPhones and iPads. Restart router, no change. Ring broadband service provider and issue my side. Disconnect all Ethernet cables from router and WiFi bursts into life. Connect cable Wi-Fi network performance very poor and things not really working. Over next few hours, swearing and shouting discover that if I disconnect all Sonos devices network good. As soon as I add one it’s down.Factory reset one and add it to system home network stays up. Several hours later having tested every Sonos device, with the exception of the playbar and mini-sub they all needed factory resetting. I have no idea as to the cause or reason but if someone else has a network problem try this.
Hi All, I've updated my Sonos app to latest firmware and updated by ARC and beam gen 2. I can get atmos to play via sonos app but when using Apple Music app atmos does not appear. I only ever use the Apple Music app to stream music to my speakers, bit disappointing this doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong?
