Hi, I’ve recently added 2 of the sonos/ ikea speakers to my living room set up, having them as my rear speakers and a pair of ones as my front along with the play bar. Music sounds great but when playing films, the dialogue plays out of the bar and the two front one speakers. Any ideas con how to remedy? Cheers.
My system still lists a Bridge. I am pretty sure that’s in a landfill somewhere. (We’ve moved houses since...it hasn’t been connected in more than a decade.) How do I delete it?
The other night, I updated my system to 15.2.1. Immediately afterwards, songs that had been playing right beforehand returned the message “Unable to play ‘SONG NAME’ - the song is not encoded correctly. The source is Apple Music singed onto Sonos, from my Apple Music library, containing all of my songs uploaded through Apple Match. In every case so far, the songs that error out are songs that I originally ripped from CD years ago. They are all mp3, sample rate 192 kbps. Playing them directly from my phone through airplay works fine (but is a major loss of functionality)Does the new Sonos system not like mp3’s?! Any ideas other than going through and converting them all to Apple Lossless? Thanks,Scott
I’m not quite getting the surround effect with my system (I watched Top Gun Maverick Last night, and the flyovers were not what I expected from an audio perspective). My current setup is Arc + 2 Era 300 surrounds + 2 Sub Gen 3s. I’ve ran TruPlay. Are my surround speakers too close to my seating area (see pictures). Any suggestions are appreciated!
So long time Sonos user. Have a dozen or so speakers including a small Beam/Sub/One HT setup in our loft, an Amp controlling our back patio setup and a Port connecting our primary living room HT. We're about to kick off a major kitchen remodel and as part of that replacing our flooring on the main level. With all the upcoming changes, the wife and I have been talking about aesthetics in our living room and what our options are for replacing speakers. You can see what I'm dealing with from a space/layout perspective in the pictures. We're probably 75% Movies/TV and 25% music with the occasional karaoke party with friends/family. Existing fronts are Definitive Technology bi-polars with 10in powered subs. They're over 20 years old, but surprisingly still sound pretty amazing. The center is a DT Mythos (had to downsize when we moved due to space on the mantle) and the surrounds are DT bi-polars mounted pretty high up on the rear wall behind the seating position and above the bar.Have been
I have a Sonos system set up at home - play1, play5 and a beam. I recently purchased a Sonos port to play my record player through the system. Setup was easy however every time I select line in and play the record player my play1 and play 5 disappear from my system and I can only play the record player (via the Sonos port) through my beam. It causes my play 1 and 5 to disappear altogether from my system and I have to go back and add them. I’ve done a full factory reset on all products and still the same issue. Any ideas on how to fix?
The Sonos One would be an excellent PC speaker if Sonos had considered it. For me it would improve sales if they also thought about PC consumers who want quality audio in their systems whether it is for listening to music or playing games.
I am giving up my 50 year old dorm room style audio setup on my TV. Too many remotes.I already have an Amp for another application and I would like to get one to power a pair of passive speakers for my TV and its other HDMI connected sources. Right now, I am using optical out of the an older TV to my older receiver. I am willing to replace the TV and want to eliminate the receiver.Unfortunately, newer TVs (like Samsung) have fewer HDMI inputs and I don’t want to tie one up with HDMI ARC to the Amp. I also want to control the volume from the TV and its HDMI inputs with the TV remote. I know I can use the optical output from my TV with the Sonos optical to HDMI ARC converter but I am not sure if that connection includes volume control. Right now, I am getting a fixed level to my receiver and have to control the volume with it.I have spent several happy hours researching and I can’t find an answer to my question. I’m not going to buy a new TV just to see if it works.
I have a Sonos one and a Sonos 5 on my home system. I have taken the Sonos one on holiday but am unable to connect it to the network either on wifi or using Ethernet cable. I have tried a factory reset and it finds the speaker but then cannot connect to the network
Hi, I have passive speakers connected with a sonos amp in the bathroom. Now I control them with a Echo Flex connected in a spare plug in the bathroom. Now Echo Flex is no longer sold and my fear is that if the device just stops working I have no alternative for voice control in the bathroom. I have no room for a Echo dot or Sonos One or Roam. I just need a device Alexa compatibile that can fit in a plug.Anyone knows any alternative? Thanks
It drives me mad when so-called easy to use products like Sonos speakers that are advertised as a better balance for TV and the spoken word and using with music apps! So firstly, TV volume control over music v voice. One of the main reasons I purchased Sonos was because of adverts saying you can do better! Demonstrating volume control over music and spoken words, well after 3yrs and 2 different high-end TVs I have not heard any evidence of this control or it working, in any way shape or form. The over all quality is good, but the app is not easy or obvious to use or control and appears to be more limited than you might expect.Apps, why these cannot be linked to work with all voice controls is beyond annoying! I have spent the last 2hrs trying to make things work, using online help, but nothing works! It is so frustrating! WHY OH WHY would you make something this hard to use? You should be able to add apps, open apps and play from the selected app what you need. But you download the app
It’s a much discussed topic here how some audio receivers add a delay to music from a Sonos Port. I use a Port to send a signal to my Marantz AV7704. The Marantz then sends a signal to my Macintosh Amp which powers the speakers in my living room. Due to the processing done by the Marantz, a slight, but annoying, delay is introduced to the music coming out of the speakers attached to the Marantz when compared to the rest of my Sonos system throughout my house. The rest of my house is mostly in-ceiling speakers powered by Sonos amps.A common answer is for me to put the Marantz into “direct” mode. If the Marantz doesn’t have to process the music, no delay is added. But I think this is a poor answer. The processing in all the non-direct modes makes the sound of the music so much better I guess it’s too hard for Sonos to allow us to add a delay to the rest of our Sonos system so the whole house will be synced up to the delayed room. Else they would have done this. So given that Soson
I am running a Play 5 and OldConnect with S1, and a bunch of Ones, Play 1s, 3s and 5s Gen2, and Amp with S2.Time to time, I cannot connect to S2. It keeps me the option to connect to S1. After a couple of times restarting the App I can connect to S2. Some other times, I have disconnected the S1 device/s to able to connect. Also, after a router reboot, most of the time I have to do disconnect the S1 devices to able to connect to S2. I have never had issues connecting to S1. Also I have tried to connect using ethernet (PC), Wireless 2.4 and 5. Using Windows 10, 11, Samsung S20, and Iphone 13. Same issues in all of them.Network configuration:Asus Rt-AX89XS1 configurationPlay 5 wired connected to routerS2 Configuration:One wired to router, even it is configured for wireless. I had a Boost wired but it game more issues than the One. ATM, the Boost is not connected. All S2 Sonos devices are configured as wireless WM 1. I did tried configured as wired WM 0 with the same effect. Thanks in ad
I need product information and the sales rep knew surprisingly little about their own speakers. Can someone tell me if Sonos Arc is the solution for me? I have a home theater (7 meter / 275 inch) screen. I need a speaker which can output surround sound (e.g. Dolby Atmos, Sonic 3D, Sennheiser GSX 7.1, CMSS-3D, Windows Sonic, etc.) Any one of those formats will do. I can output all of them using Hesuvi.I run normal and 3D Blurays from a PC to a projector using HDMI 1.4a to power the projector. The pc also has the standard audio jacks:1. S/PDIF OutRear Out Cen / Sub Out Line out Line In Mic Inand Bluetooth. Are Sonos products like the Arc the solution to a home cinema setup? If so how can I connect it best. I will ideally purchase one before the weekend if it is suitable.

Hi, may I request a toggle to disable bluetooth on Sonos One Gen 2, similar to how we can disable WiFi? Thank you!
I suffered the fiasco a couple of years back with my WD NAS drive and it being bricked. In the end, I decided to replace it and I have them another chance - with a My Cloud Home (surely they will be trying extra hard not to screw up again!). It arrived last Saturday and I spent Sunday loading my music onto it. Added the My Cloud app in Sonos and it worked fine for 1 day. Then it stopped working. After a lot of time spent trying to fix it, I went online to see if it was just me. Nope - they have managed to mess the new system up completely too (and a lot of people are very angry). Here is the service status alert on their website:02 Apr 2023OUTAGEWestern Digital is currently experiencing a service outage impacting the following products: My Cloud, My Cloud Home, My Cloud Home Duo, My Cloud OS5, SanDisk ibi, SanDisk Ixpand Wireless Charger. We are working to restore service. We apologize for any inconvenience. Next update will be posted on Monday, April 3.
Both my rear home theatre speakers are sonos ones, ie they both have microphones that can be used by alexa. I understand in this situation that alexa will respond only to the right hand speaker. Can I reconfigure this so that alexa will respond to the left speaker? If so, how do I do that? TIA ... Greg
I got two Sonos Era 100’s set up as a pair for stereo and just plugged in the USB-C network adapter so I can have it wired to my network but for some strange reason the connected speaker reports as being on the 2.4ghz wireless network in my router settings, I restarted both speaker and router but it still shows as being connected to the wireless band.if I go through the change network wizard in the s2 app this speaker is reported as being wired, also the details for the speaker says WM: 0 which is wired. The second speaker is listed on the 5ghz wireless band. Why is this, should it not be listed under my wired devices now ?Thanks
Does anyone know where I can source a connect gen 2?
I got a pair of era 300s a couple of weeks ago and placed them on top of 2 different furnitures that were at different heights and distance from the optimal listening point. After trueplay tuning the speakers sounded as if they were at the same distance and the overall atmos effect was very apparent and magical. However, the stands that had been in backorder finally showed up yesterday. After mounting and retuning trueplay, the sound completely changed. The height channels are now vey thin and have lost power. The surrounds are more apparent and almost distracting. To be fair, I have placed the stands right behind the couch as advertised in the sonos site pictures. I’m wondering if the speakers can detect the stands the same way the Arc detects the wall mount and change it’s profile to compensate. Anyone else having this experience with similar setup? BTW, here’s what I have: Arc, Sub gen3 and 2x era 300 (On stands now)
Alarms don't seem to be set through Google Assistant. Steps to reproduce: "Hey Google, set an alarm for xxx" Google responds that alarm is set "Hey Google, what alarms do I have set?" Google responds that no alarms have been set
Samsung TV only supported PCM and DTS Neo 2.5.AppleTV 4th Gen (A1625) does not have optical output.Sonos S1 Playbar and Surround Sound only support Dolby Digital.Solution: Use J-Tech Digital (JTDAT5CH) and digital Optical Output set to 5.1 to Playbar. Connect HDMI Output to Samsung TV.Works great.
Is anyone else noticing a lot of skipping in the middle of a song with this newest Sonos app update? My internet is well over 500mbps and all of my speakers appear to have a strong connection. I’m mainly using Spotify premium to stream on over 7 speakers, but with this newest app update (15.2.1) the skipping is becoming more consistent.
After suggestion by @Corry P in the Sonos Era 300 wall mount positioning post, where we discussed the issue of ERA’s 300 “center speaker” not playing at all, while added as surrounds.I asked this:@Corry P I don’t want to “reach”, but couldn’t there be a toggle to enable the “center driver” for example only for music?Something like the Surround Audio — Music Playback feature. So at least in music scenarios, ERAs are not “crippled” in surround setup. Because in “stereo” standalone mode without ARC, they sound much better in my opinion. Corry P replied:Hi @Majo133 Perhaps - I recommend you start a new topic making this point and it will be marked as a feature request. Thanks! I am therefore creating this post marked as “Feature request” and i am requesting feature described below. Feature to be added:“Allow user to manually enable center speakers of the ERA’s 300, if they are added as surrounds to the ARC/BEAM + SUB setup.”This could be added for example only for music playback, to the se
