Running Sonos 2 on a PC. Also access system on iphone.I don’t play my system all that much. After a break, it never works. “Check for Updates” gets me error 1101 repeatedly. I have unplugged and re-plugged my 4 Connects (strangely, one has a yellow light now, instead of white). I have restarted Sonos several times on both my computer and iphone. I am on the correct wifi network. The system was working a few weeks ago. I haven’t changed anything in my house. This happens a lot and I’m really sick of it. What good is a sound system that constantly breaks down? Please advise...
hola tengo una barra sonos beam 2, de repente hace ruidos como si fuera una retroalimentacion aun cuando esta apagada la tv, que podria ser???
I am moving my 65” Sony panel (arc but no eARC) from my music room to replace a 55” Sony in our Living Room. My wife doesn’t like going downstairs to watch TV, but we both want a larger screen in the LR.I will purchase an Arcana Fury 2 to bypass the Arc output and feed Dolby Atmos, 5.1, 2.0, to my Sonos Arc. AppleTV4 is primary A/V source.I hope someone here could recommend a quality 2.1 switch to run ahead of the Arcana so I can play my Roon Bridge (HDMI out) and my Oppo BDP seamlessly through my Arc system as well as my AppleTV. I know Apple occasionally causes hiccups with outboard connections, yet I want to keep wire count low. Thanks in advanceIMIKE
Finally after days & hours of trying to find a workaround regarding not being able to access my music library on my phone & tablet. Thanks to someone mentioning the App called HiFi Cast. Sorry did not get his name. But thanks heaps. Best answer!Downloaded the app. Opened the app & it showed my music library on my device.I then found some options by pressing the row of lines on the top left corner that showed one of them being my Sonos Play 5 which I pressed. Then I pressed the album I wanted to play & guess what. It works!I found this the most easiest & least time consuming than the other options of uploading music to clouds, Youtube music, Spotify etc. Trying to workout what a NAS drive is etc, etc I even figured out I could also plug in a bluetooth receiver into the 3.5 jack at the back of the speaker. But mine was a very cheap one which played the music but voice/singing was far too quiet. So I ordered a HiFi bluetooth receiver......... But looks like I may not n
Hello,I would like to get some inputs on the speaker setup for my new house. I have attached the layout of speakers which I have in mind. Few questions - is it too many speakers (~6) for 1 sonos amp? does the layout looks good? My first plan is to setup the family room and dining area → movings towards patio next → and maybe other rooms in future.
Hi everyone.I’m kinda new to sound in house…..and i allways was having sound in my car. So as i start getting older(i’m close to 50yo) i spend more time inside my home rather than spend time in my car. So i went on Youtube and start seach for input of what to buy when i needed to upgrade my sound. I choose Sonos. So here i am…Anyway….my livingroom upstairs got: Beam gen2,2xERA 100 and 2xgen3. And my Bow&Arrow-Panasonic does not got eARK so Arcana HDfury is been used….works great.So….do i purcase the ARC or a Era 300-pair? I will have both but economics makes me choose this month. The 300’s will have a wall-mount and in future i will have the secound pair of 300’s to pair them up front.So….what would you have purcase first of the ARC or 300’s.To info the 300’s are on sale from Sonos Web-site,and you can save pretty much the same on the ARC cause another electronic-store got it on Outlet…..so the ARC&300’s cost the same.
Hi all,I currently have 2 different set-ups: 1 Beoplay A9 MKII in my living room and a Sonos multiroom system in my bedrooms and outdoor. I would like to add 2 devices to my Sonos system: the Beoplay A9 MKII and a turntable. Is my simple assumption correct, that I can just connect the turntable via line-in and the Beoplay A9 via line-out?Thanks a lot for your advice and help!Best, Manuel
does sonos sub generation 1 work with sonos 5 speakers
My sonos roam just stopped in the middle of a song. It was on the charging base. Thought it was the base that was not working properly so I ordered a usb cable. I let the sonos charge long enough but was not able to turn it on after many attempts using the technician’s recommendations. I was offered a rebate on a new Sonos as long as I return the system no charge. However, since I am very disappointed in my purchase, I am not eager to buy another Sonos! This company was recommended to me by a friend, but I do not think they live up to expectations, mine anyway.
So i have been reading threads on plusnet and here. With sonos removing the ability to play music from my tablet with the app on it, i thought i would try out using a USB in the back of the router as a basic NAS So i have gone to library / add new share screen, input some info, it then goes away and comes back, nothing added, so its not finding the path, the three lines i tried are below but is the slash / or \ (As sonos preinput)//pnhub2/usb1smbclient //pnhub2/usb1 -U GUEST -I 192.168.1.254(Blank) The other factor is I'm using a usb splitter.
I have tried to find a resolution today for my SL one as it keeps dropping out whilst the others are find, playing music delayed and having reverb. Sonos say its interference, though all other sonos equipment works. They have been quite rude and instead of escalating have left me on hold for 90 minutes to then hang up.
Ok I am not sure I am going to be able to ask this correctly, but I will try… We currently have an S2 system with multiple speakers. We mostly use Apple Music for all of our cloud music uses and Sonos is no exception. Here is the problem, I would like Apple Music songs we play on our Sonos system to not affect the algorithm (play counts, recommendations, etc) on my Apple Music account. The songs we listen to as a family (two young kids) and the songs my wife plays for work (preschool) are greatly affecting my Apple Music listening experience on my own devices. What is the best way to get around this? I am hoping to make an Apple Music account with a “Family” Apple ID, but how does that affect the Sonos app and voice control? Just trying to wrap my head around this and see if there is a solution… Thanks!
I have a paired Sonos one setup and the problem is as follows: sound source: a Mac connected via Airplay on the same wifi + Sonos app installed on the mac (if it matters)Explainer: Sonos plays a video (sound) perfectly. I select a new video, the video starts but Sonos does not play the sound anymore. To solve the problem I have to change output device on the mac to something else, then select the Sonos again and it starts to play perfectly. This also happens if I switch applications when e.g. a youtube video ends, I use an other app, i revisit youtube in the browser and i have to do the “switch output device” again. I tried with different browsers already. It has been happening since I have Curious if it happens with others or what is going on.
I play Spotify from my iPhone 14 on my Sonos 5 and ERA 100 at home. Then I leave and play Spotify through a bluetooth headset (Sena 30K0 on my motorcycle. I’m happily riding along and the tunes stop. When I can check the phone, I find that Spotify has switched to Sonos. I switch back, but a few minutes later it happens again. I’ve made sure I have the latest update of the Sonos and Spotify apps, closed the apps, and powered off the phone, but it still happens. Any idea what is going on and how I can stop it?
Does anyone else’s have the same experience that Sonos is a total pain in the ass? It is rare that the system actually works as wifi and apps keep “upgrading” over the years, which really means nothing works anymore. For an expensive speaker system reliant on Wifi which isn’t always reliable, I’ve found I’ve hardly ever been able to actually enjoy my Sonos speaker. Most of my interaction with the brand is waiting in line for customer service because something doesn’t work…. Again. I don’t understand why the ratings are so high when, in my experience, these speakers are a total pain. Which sucks because if they actually worked they’d be awesome but they rarely do. Total bummer.
When I search for an artist in the Sonos controller app, and click through to view their catalog, it should be possible to order by release date. Also, I would like to be able to distinguish albums from singles or EPs.Especially if an artist has a large catalog, the app does not provide enough information to navigate it.
Looking for some guidance on a non Sonos issue from gurus here: In a TP link access point that is ethernet wired back to a Apple Time Capsule base station, DHCP is disabled, and everything in the served space works fine, including Sonos/Firestick/Phones/Computer, with Sonos in WiFi mode. TP link model WA 850 RE. Now for another device being added in the space, a HomePod mini, I see some recommendations of giving it a static IP address for stability. Question therefore is how/where is this done? By making changes in the app that is used to set up the access point? Or, back in the apple base station?Appreciate any guidance. I now recall an earlier discussion here, but that was in the context of Sonos compatibilty which also brings me to a follow up question: My Sonos set up is all wired back to the same base station and is rock solid. What do I need to do to ensure that if any new access point device is added as a wired access point to the same base station to serve non Sonos devices in
SONOS should make a sub in the form factor of a move so you can move it around and pair with other speakers when you want a room to have some more bass Would be good to also be able to pair with two other moves for playing music outside etc
This is not a question - but just sharing my experience. I have recently updated my wifi with mesh and the older sonos components wouldnt connect despite numerous factory resets and scratching of head. Each time I went through the process to add older items - it failed at the last step when it tried to add to the LAN. The reason was the mesh system had its own DCHP server hidden in the settings. Once this was disabled (put into access point mode) I was able to connect.I had originally put this down to Wifi 6 compatibility I hope this helps others
Hey all!If I use another iPhone than mine to true tone my system does that work for all devices? I am using a beta and it does not work to true tone but I can use my son's iPhone. Cheers!
Mi producto no se conecta a la app de Sonos
Somewhat on the heels of Sonos having to remove lock screen controls, would it possible to add the ability to pair a bluetooth remote with a Sonos speaker/room? The below is the sort of device that I am thinking of https://www.amazon.com/Chubby-Buttons-Splash-Resistant-Smartphone-Snowboarders/dp/B07FBQ3PCF/ref=sr_1_15?crid=1M6CNFWFSGDX9&keywords=bluetooth%2Bremote&qid=1691152609&sprefix=bluetooth%2Brem%2Caps%2C126&sr=8-15&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.18ed3cb5-28d5-4975-8bc7-93deae8f9840&th=1 The idea is that you could pair a bluetooth remote to a room for basic controls, and function pretty much like the ikea remotes and lutron remotes do, but without utilizing wifi or requiring purchase of a hub. I am not sure that Sonos speakers would have the hardware for this. Speakers that do not have bluetooth, only BLE, probably not. Even those with bluetooth (as a sink), possible not. The speakers may not be capable of connecting to a bluetooth source and bluetooth remote
