I have been a happy user of Sonos for many years and think the system is unrivalled is many ways.Recently however I have had drop outs with at least one of my Play:3’s in the kitchen. In total my systems consists of;Livingroom 2 x Play:5 with 1 x Sub (left connected via Ethernet) (right connect via Ethernet with WiFi Disabled) (Sub connected via WiFi)Playroom 1 x Play:1 (connected via Ethernet WiFi Enabled)Kitchen 2 x Play:3 (WiFi)Master Bedroom 2 x Play:1 (left connected via Ethernet WiFi enabled) (right connected via Ethernet WiFi Disabled)Study 2 x Play:1 (left Wifi) right (WiFi)Childs Bedroom A 1 x Play:1 (WiFi)Childs Bedroom B 1 x Play:1 (WiFi)And 1 x Roam (mainly used for the garden) (WiFi)My internet connection is a stable FTTP with avg. 860Mbps Down and 750Mbps Up, I do have a Netgear mesh system 1 x router and 2 x satellites.Do I have too many units connected to the router (I am using a switch in some cases) and should I have disabled WiFi on the units described above or should
I have my play 5 connected to my PC via line in. I seem to have a problem with one channel on the line in on the play 5.I’ve tried the line in on other devices and it works OK. This was a lot of money when purchased so I hope its not now a brick ;-(
I currently have a Beam 2, Sub 3, and Ikea Symfonixs Surrounds. I thinking of upgrading to Era 300 surrounds. What would happen is I add the Ikeas as front stereo pair “group” to this Beam/300 set up. Would front dispersion be improved, or degraded? Would there be a lag with Movies? Would there be lag with Music? Can lag be improved by changing sync in the setting? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Hello,it would be great if I could disable/enable surround directly with Alexa.Surround could be annoying when children are watching tv while we have breakfast.… if not maybe a shortcut with iOS?thanks
Hey gents,I own a lot of Sonos products, i have stopped counting. We, our familie have always loved these products. But today, we did somthing we should have done a long time ago. We disabled the build-in Google Assistant in all our Sonos products, and put up a Google mini and set the speakers with the disabled Google Assistant as the default speaker. So thank for the extra power consumption and the extra taken power-outleds in these harsh climat and green times….. But! This has brought peace and balance into the entire house again. Everything works perfect with this setup. And i don´t care what and who says this is a Google issue, or Sonos issue. This product was put on the marked with a build-in assistant that Sonos choose, so the complaint goes to Sonos. This functionality worked perfect some years ago, slowly it degraded with from understading slobby voice commands, to you must have a masters degree in correct linguistic. A very short example could be to tell it to play music: “Ok go
Good afternoon. Had my router go out. Now my patio speakers and sound bar are connected together. How can I separate again
We attempted to set up a SONOS port in a business application and with a veteran IT engineer, was not able to use any of 3 wi fi networks or an un-restricted Ethernet connection. Took the device home and spent roughly 2-3 hours on and off to set up the device, have it work for 20 seconds of a song, then pause the song and the connection crashes. Easy to see why the SONOS APP’s get between a 2.7 and 3.1 ration out of 5.0 scale
Hi all,Since a couple a weeks ago i have constant problems with sonos speakers gets status not connected randomly. I have Google Nest Wifi mesh with one router and one AP this setup have worked perfectly before so not really sure whats causes this.My Sonos setup:2 playbars with play 1 as sorround and sub 2 play one 1 play 32 standalone play 12 roam I have tried to connected the playbars with ethernet just to see if Sonosnet would solve the problem but that didnt help 😪still the same problem.so I just want to check if any one else have this problems, and if its a Google Nest Wifi problem or a sonos problem ?
How can I make sure Alexa is always around when I call for her on Move 2? Every time when I need Alexa, the Move 2 is off. When I called Sonos support, they said there is no way to resolve this issue. It doesn’t make sense to me that I have to go up to the Move 2 to turn in on or go get my phone and open the Sonos app in order to talk to Alexa……. I need help!! Thanks y’all!
Yes, today Sonos SUCKS. That is all.
Looking to help my brother with a Sonos set up. He has a Sony TV in his living room and two ceiling speakers in his adjacent kitchen (wired to basement). He would like to be able to say, for example, to his Alexa device (Echo or Refrigerator) to play the sound from the TV into the Kitchen. How can this best be done?I was thinking he may need to get a Sonos Arc for the TV room and a Sonos Amp to power the ceiling speakers. The Arc could always be used for when watching TV and he could optionally enable the Sonos Amp / ceiling speakers in the kitchen when he wants to. Is there an easy way for him to be able to enable/disable playing the TV through the kitchen speakers? (It is not really practical to run new / additional cables.) And it would be ideal to be able to say Alexa play the TV through the Kitchen speakers or something like that. Thanks in advance for your support and ideas.
I am curious if anyone else is experiencing this. When I ask Google Assistant to play the radio station WXXI she repeats the action but replaces the “WXXI” with “WXC”. The correct station actually plays so it is not a real big issue, it’s just weird. My kitchen speaker does it every time while my basement and bedroom speakers do it maybe 30-40% of the time. All other voice control actions are repeated correctly. I have had the speakers for about 4 years and this started about 6 - 9 months ago I think.
Hi I've just purchased a playbar at a really good price ( to replace my Sony TV stand with speakers) With the Nvidia, is it best to go hdmi splitter with optical out to playbar and hdmi to projector or has anyone had experience with hdmi to projector and usb optical out from Nvidia to playbar? At the moment I use a splitter ( as the Sony is only hd out ( whereas the projector is 4k)) but I'm getting flickering ( maybe the 10 meter hdmi cable is too long/ poor quality...or the splitter is a bit rubbish) Thanks in advance
I’m trying to find the optimal settings for gain staging for my turntable, but when I use what I calculate should be the optimal setting, I get a lot of distortion.TLDR: math says I should set Sonos Line In Level to 10, but in reality it’s so distorted I have to set it down to 1 or 2My setup is: AT-LP120XUSB (with preamp switch disabled) AT-VM95ML cartridge / stylus Schiit Mani 2 Sonos Connect (non-amp version) Sonos Beam (speakers I output from Connect) From this thread, I’m using the formula V-output = V-input * 10^(gain / 20)https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/g6q6ua/calculating_linein_level_for_turntable/Here’s my current calculations and setup: the preamp is disabled on the LP120xusb VM95ML has output of 3.5mv and recommended loading of 100-200pf at 47k ohms short RCA and ground wire cables are used between turntable and Mani Mani filter settings are off as factory default Mani default setting is 47k/47pf, so I have enabled the switch to add an additional 47pf
When I attempt to upgrade the controller on my laptop, I get the following error “Error 1324. The path ?ProgramFiles (X86) contains an invalid character.” I recently used some PC Mover Software (LapLink) that moved the contents of my old laptop to my new laptop. Is there a config file or registry setting I can edit to fix this path. I tried to delete the software and re-install, but get the same error message.
I have a large living area (irregularly shaped) with 10 built-in speakers spread throughout the space, not obviously arranged in any right or left pattern. What is the best way to power these speakers and integrate with Sonos? Do I need to buy 5 Amps? Buy 1 and add an amplifier (but then can I control the volume of the amplifier with the app)? Do I just somewhat-randomly connect the 10 speakers to left and right?
Sound is coming loud from tv and quiet from sonos
Hello, I have an Old SONOS Play:1 that I can't seem to pair, tried all the usuals and ran through he app test etc and am getting no response or connection. The Play 1 has a white flashing light. Any ideas or is it time to use as a door stop.??
- TV - Sony A80J- Streaming Device - Apple TV4K (2nd Gen)- Speakers - Sonos Arc / Play Ones / SubA few weeks ago I asked about how I should set my TV to get the best Dolby Atmos sound from my Sonos Arc. Here are the settings that were recommended…- Speakers - Audio System- TV Center Speaker Mode - Off- Audio System Prioritization - On- Sound Mode Sync - On- A/V Sync - Auto- eARC Mode - Auto- Digital Audio Out - Auto 1- Digital Audio Out Volume - Max- Dolby Digital Plus Output - Dolby Digital Plus- Pass Through Mode - AutoAtmos works perfectly with eARC Mode and Pass Through set to Auto (it says Dolby Atmos). But, 5.1 content does not play in Dolby Digital 5.1. It plays in Multichannel PCM 5.1.So, I turned eARC and Pass Through to “Off” and it says Dolby Atmos (DD+) which is a “lesser” Atmos from what I was told? But, 5.1 content worked and played in Dolby Digital 5.1.For example, here’s a Netflix show when the eARC and Passthrough settings are Auto. - Stereo PCMHere’s the same Netflix
I found that simply changing the name of the system might solve Airplay Error. For example, change the name of your system from “bedroom” to “bedroom 2”, and choose I haven't moved any Sonos speakers for the Trueplay.Hope this trick also works for you.
Hello , I’m have samsung Q7 Series TV, and I also have Apple TV connected to my TV. I have bought Sonos Arc, Sonos Sub (3.1) and sonos era 300. I have installed like few days back. My issue is I couldn’t able to hear quality sound and my Surrounding speakers are not working as expected. Do I need to do any settings on my TV. In sonos app it’s showing TV is connected to TV Stereo PCM. No really understanding what is the issue. Any suggestions is much Appreciated. Thanks
Beam works with everything else except Hulu app.
How can you send audio from the Google podcast app to a Sonos system of any kind? Whenever I try to send via the chromecast feature in the Google podcast app I get a message asking me to make sure both my device and Sonos are on the same wifi network. (The app is not supported within the Sonos app)I get the same problem with many other apps that can send audio/video via chromecast. When I test this with other speakers that support wifi/bluetooth I can always easily connect. I strongly suspect some clunky workaround will be required because Sonos support have been unable to help. Google support said the problem is on the side of Sonos.
Hello everyone,I recently purchased an ERA 300 and the hardware is absolutely brillant; I didn´t think that Dolby Atmos could sound so good with a single speaker. So much that I’m probably going to ditch Youtube Music for Apple Music once my trial period is over. Seriously it’s that good. However, the lack of dedicated Android TV app is a really bizarre omission to me. I know that most people will tell me to buy a soundbar but:Not all of us have the disposable income for that. Not all of us have the means to plug a soundbar. I use, for instance, a projector which single HDMI input is already occupied by a mibox S. And even if I did have the money, and an available HDMI, I would need a 6 meters HDMI cable to connect the soundbar; not really practical. I currently connect the era 300 to my mibox by bluetooth and I experience no delay in the sound, thanks to a built-in compensation I presume. This works reasonably well and the speaker does a surprisingly good job when watching series or mo
Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to deliver Dolby Atmos via getMediaURI? https://devdocs.sonos.com/docs/getmediauriI couldn’t find any information in the documentation. I appreciate any help. Thanks a lot, Dominik
