I have a mid sized living room about 50 sq meterwhich sub should I get: mini vs sub 4 ? Pairing it with a pair of Era 100si see the sub 4 is more recent so perhaps a better choice?
I will mostly use my speaker for music TV going to sleep. Relaxation mood swings. Mostly more about myself and making sure the vibe or feelings are up to point and sets the mood.
Hello everyone. Quick question about speaker placement as I am fairly new to Sonos. I recently upgraded to the arc ultra, gen 4 sub, 1 pair of Fives and 1 pair of Era 300 from 1 pair of one SL and 1 pair of Era 100. Below is the open concept floor plan. I plan on using the arc and sub for home theater and the Fives and Era 300 for playing music. The arc would go below the TV on the unit and the sub to the left of it. My plan was to put the 1 pair of Fives on speaker stands in the family room. Put the one Era 300 in the dining room on a stand and the one Era 300 in the dining room directly on the counter as it is out of the work area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

One-week-old Sonos Arc Ultra makes a noticeable popping sound when navigating in/out of content. It’s not the loud pop reported earlier this year, but still audible and annoying. Factory reset twice with no change. Happens with all content types (stereo, 5.1, Atmos, YouTube, Netflix, etc.). Setup: Apple TV 4K, LG C1, bitstream input, passthrough output, eARC, Sonos HDMI cable. No speech enhancement enabled. What are my options/next steps? Example captured on video:
Is anyone else experiencing a crackling noise with their Arc Ultra? I upgraded from the Arc to the Arc Ultra, which is connected to a pair of Era 300s and two subs. The crackling sound has been intermittent, mainly occurring when streaming movies.
Device: iPhone 16e ; iOS 26.2Home Network: Ubiquiti UniFi (Enterprise Managed)Issue: AirPlay 2 connects to Sonos speakers but audio drops (silence) while the player timer continues ("Ghost Play").Isolation:I have isolated this specifically to the "Limit IP Address Tracking" setting in Wi-Fi settings.* When ON: AirPlay Control channel works (timer moves), but Data channel fails (silence/packet loss).* When OFF (and subsequent wifi network reset): AirPlay works perfectly.*When returned to ON - failure reproduces. This conflict between Private Relay features and Local Network Multicast/Discovery is forcing users to disable privacy features to use basic system functionality. Please investigate the routing of AirPlay traffic when IP Tracking protection is active on managed subnets.
I’ve been using my Sonos setup for a while now.Overall it works well, but I’ve had a few connection dropouts here and there.Nothing constant, just occasional issues that need a restart.I was curious if others have had a similar experience or if it’s been fully stable for you.
I’ve just purchased a Sonos Beam (gen 2) and this is paired with a Samsung 55QN95B on the supplied TV stand. The TV stand protrudes in front of the TV, so I’ve been trying to work out the best placement for the Beam. Either, in front of the TV stand, directly on the cabinet (although this looks a bit odd), or resting on top of the TV stand - looks much better as the beam “merges” with the TV. However, I’m not sure if this compromises the sound, so was wondering if there are any “feet” that can be used to raise the Beam about 1cm. This would mean the Beam can sit over the stand without resting on it.
I have a SONOS 1SL, that has been working fine for 3 years. Now it is not. After spending hours on the phone with tech support, they said it is my modem, but they could not tell me what modem to purchase. They could only give me a few names of what NOT to buy. Not very helpful. Any suggestions? I am with Bell for internet
Dear Sonos team,I love 7 of my 9 Sonos speakers. Please help me love my Era 300s.I recently upgraded my surround setup with the Arc ultra and two Era 300s. I did this for two reasons:1 I wanted a better home cinema experience with Dolby Atmos. This is working great. 2 I wanted a better music listening experience. This was what convinced my wife that we should get the era 300s, and she is less than happy (I am sad also). The Era 300s are marketed as premium surround speakers, but when set up as surrounds their main driver is turned off. This would make perfect sense if you could seamlessly switch to a stereo pair for music with the main driver on. Unfortunately, you have to completely reconfigure and re-Trueplay the system to switch between music or watching a movie. Please please Sonos team, could you answers the following questions:1 Will it be possible (with a future update) to save two different configurations including the Trueplay information so that we can seamlessly switch betwe
Hi allI thought I would start a thread about this since there are a lot of people with this issue looking for answers. There is currently an issue with the Asus firmware and Sonos devices set up in Home Theatre mode where Guest Network Pro has been activated on the router. For my setup it is the Arc paired with a Sub and Two ERA 300’s; however, many other setups also seem to be affected. Here is a long thread which I have been running where the process has been documented. Today Asus provided me with a Beta firmware which seems to have solved the issue. They are looking for users to test is, such if you would like to test it and provide me with feedback please reach out on the SNB forums. I submitted this to Sonos a number of times; however, they have not done anything about it. Thank youRemi
I’ve added 2 Spotify accounts to my Sonos app, is there a way to switch between the accounts on the speakers without manually going onto the app to switch them? It had me nickname each account, is that a way to switch between linked accounts?
Just learned about setting up a surround sound system in my basement. I have an arc ultra at the tv, 2 era300s front L&R of TV, sub gen4, and amp with 2 sonance celling speakers as R&L rear surrounds is there a better configuration to take full advantage of Dolby atmos or surround sound setup in general?
I have read the two earlier postings by Simon_140 on this problem which was not resolved and I wanted to report that I have also been experiencing the same problem.I have an Amazon Echo Dot 2 with the BBC Skill enabled. In the original configuration, it fed speakers directly via Bluetooth and the “continue” function worked as expected (as it still does). Recently I added a Sonos Play:1 and configured Alexa to play the Echo Dot 2 through this device. Since doing this, the “continue” function no longer works.I reported this problem to the BBC but they could not reproduce (I presume they were simply playing direct on the Echo Dot). Then today I read the threads in this forum by Simon_140 and I realised that my problem was related. As described by Somon_140 I also find that the same function does not work when I try it from the BBC Sonos S1 app on my Pixel 7 mobile.I assume that when “continue” is requested the URL passed by the BBC skill / app includes a parameter to specify the star
Hello, after using TruePlay my rear speakers are really loud and greatly over power the front (Arc Ultra). They are only 6” away if I sit on one side of the couch, around 2’ if I sit center (they are in a console table right behind my couch). I know that “Surround Distance” is grayed out after running TruePlay. Am I really just better off not using TruePlay and just setting surround distance to “Less Than 2ft”? Just bummed that I have to sacrifice the TruePlay EQ because it doesn’t reduce the rear surrounds enough.
I’ve been using a shared drive on Windows 11 for quite a while. The setup for Sonos has always been hinky but it mostly worked. Recently, I have had a bunch of problems crop up more frequently. 913 errors every couple of days, having to reboot and reshare… I’ve tried a handful of things with no luck.Today’s issue relates to streaming a 20 minute song from the shared drive. Multiple times it has stopped mid-song with the error:Saturday, January 3, 2026 - 10:34 AM Central TimeUnable to play 'XXX' - the connection to //YYY/Music was lost.Any fixes for this?
Hi All I have just replaced my creaking Buffalo Linkstation with a shiny new Synology 225+ but I cannot get my Sonos system to see the shared folder for my music. I see there are a large number of threads on this issue as simply enabling SMBv1 doesnt seem to be enough, and a lot of the solutions appear to my reading to be complicated (Ill admit Im not hugely technically proficient) and involve rolling back parts of the NAS operating system etc which Id be quite worried about doing Can any one point me to the simplest/most efficient way of getting this to work please? And apologies again for asking what I know has been asked before, but Im hoping for a simple solution that with my limited understanding I can do.
Hi, I have a problem with playing Apple Music Chill recently. Everything from Apple Music works just great, only Apple Music Chill radio won’t play and the app shows message the It’s not encoded correctly.Everything others plays with no problem.I tried to reauthorized the Apple Music, delete it and add it again etc.Strange is that all other stations plays with no problem and I doubt that Apple is encoding that one station differently then the others.Any idea? Thanks, Jakub
After adding a Sonos roam to my system, the Sonos app no longer display in landscape.
Last year after much debate I spent the time to update ALL the tags on my compilation albums(with Album Artist = Various Artists) to overcome the annoying issue of all compilation albums or albums with guest artists becoming fragmented. Although I didn't (and still don't agree) with Sonos’s approach to the underlying problem of albums with identical names becoming combined I realised that there was no indication of a change in policy so I made the edits and re-catalogued everything. Compilation albums were then represented correctly as one album with the downside being that the contributing artists no longer appeared in the artists view. (I didn't agree with the Sonos solution because they could have just restricted the solution to the handful of people who suffered the issue and make them update the tags on just the duplicate titled albums rather than make every media library users update tags on their albums in perpetuity. The Sonos CEO office have been unable to explain t
I have two sub mini hooked up to my Sonos Arc and my two Era 300. But my app says subs are not hooked up
My arc ultra is connected to my Samsung TV by ehdmi and works fine. I can set up my Era300s (2) as stand alone speakers but when I set them up as surround with my arc ultra it shows connection issues with the eras. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
My phone is connected to main WiFi network and also the Sonos system that’s on a sonosnet boost. My wife’s phone cannot connect to the existing system since the phone is on the main WiFi network and phone cannot see the boost sonosnet. How do I connect her phone to the apps existing system my phone is already connected to, especially avoiding a system reboot in fear of disconnecting my phone.
Don’t buy sonos, is terrible in every posible way Moderator edit: Corrected “Sony” to “Don’t” for clarity.
