Hi
Thanks - that’s very helpful!
One last ask - could you please submit a support diagnostic soon after recreating this issue, and let me know here when you have done so? Thanks. Please don’t post the given number - I’ll find the diagnostic without it. Thanks!
Actually just made the video, I’ll post soon.
No it is in everyone’s mixcloud profile:
The rest seems to work fine
Programming technical: I think all the lists like ‘streaming’, ‘favourites’, ‘trending’ are mixcloud API ‘end objects’ so objects without any sub objects. ‘Playlists’, ‘following’, ‘followers’ are mixcloud objects that contain subobjects...
Diagnostics send..
Thanks
Thank you
Hi
We are investigating this issue. I have tagged this thread with the tracker, and will inform you here when it is resolved. We have no ETA at present.
Exactly the same problem here. Genuinely surprised that it took actual customers to identify this issue.

Why? Sonos support over a hundred music services, many of which are geo-restricted making testing them a challenge at the best of times.
I am having this issue and after 2 months would like to know if you have any updates coming soon.
Hi
Regrettably, I have no further information that I can share with you regarding this issue.
Hi
Thanks for your private message - I have reopened this thread which was automatically closed due to inactivity.
We did inform Mixcloud of this issue, but they were unable to reproduce it in their own testing, so could not address it (they are responsible for the code that integrates their service with our systems).
At this point, I can only recommend getting in touch with them and requesting that they test further.
Sorry I could not be of more help.
Corry what are you doing man, I CLEARLY showed in my video that it is NOT a mixcloud problem since all works ok in the Sonos desktop app… So it is your own programmers that you should turn to.
Of course mixcloud is not able to re-produce it.
Man I seriously thought you understood, this is VERY VERY VERY disappointing and frustrating.
I am going to sell all my sonos crap, done with it

How come it was fine until your update then?

Corry you think I am st***d or something??? I am an IT architect and programmer, you just talk to the Mixcloud API (https://www.mixcloud.com/developers/) there is NO mixcloud software that you use on your side. You just consume the API from Mixcloud, consume the JSON objects coming out of it and you just interpret them wrongly…. basic programming 101…
They test further???? YOU GUYS should test your own software better!!!
So basically what you are saying, Snarkje you showed me a video that CLEARY shows that it is NOT a Mixcloud problem, but hey we are not going to fix this and blame Mixcloud for it.. A big FY to your customers..

@corryp You know, i could even feel a bit of sympathy towards you guys, building a new app with the headphone launch date as a hard deadline is a challenge.
But with this answer of you, you just created a huge ambassador that will tell EVERYBODY NEVER TO BUY ANY SONOS CRAP AGAIN.

Corry,
This is NOT a Mixcloud issue. I’m not sure how we could have been any more clear about this (especially with the video
I HAVE reached out to Mixcloud and they say this is a Sonos issue. It’s also a Sonos issue because adding to the Sonos Queue doesn’t work properly no matter what program you are using (except for the apps such as Spotify which will shuffle on their own app). I have been planning to upgrade to the business plan for our 10 (and many more coming) locations once this was fixed and this is yet a MAJOR disappointment by Sonos which now has me exploring how to offload our equipment and plans and figure a new plan out because at this rate I just have a ton of bluetooth speakers that are for the most part worthless and we could have just bought a bunch from a Walmart and been running more smoothly than we are now for a fraction of the price.
This is 100% a Sonos issue. As he said this only happened once that update rolled through. I need you to address.
New commenter here. Thanks to the OP and others for tips. I am having problems with Mixcloud on Sonos that I believe are not down to Mixcloud. The issue is some items (streams, tracks, whatever) refuse to play. Instead of “something went wrong”, the app chooses a different track from my feed. This isn’t an erratic problem - I can literally press the stream I want on the app and it will play one 5 lines further down, again and again. Tomorrow it will select a different one.
The PC app doesn’t have this problem, so it’s not due to anything wrong with the stream itself.
After having many problems since the new app, I spent $2K having wired Cat6 put around the house so I couldn’t blame poor responsiveness on flaky Wifi. It was by no means a waste of money as it’s improved other services, but one thing it hasn’t improved is Sonos!

The job of a vendor is, surely, to maintain its products’ API dependencies. 100 might sound high but it’s a manageable number with enough resources. The SaaS world has much smaller companies supporting thousands of connections. As for geo-restricting, surely a company as committed to the user experience as Sonos could have a partner agreement that stipulates the actual content should be available to Sonos itself for testing? It seems potty to me that a company would agree to support a service that it cannot even access.
See my video:
And Sonos saying it is a MixCloud problem…. that it is clearly not
I also recognise your issue, that actually the track that you point to play is playing one track below, or sometimes a random other track.
there’s tons of other posts about this, as well, in the forum. This is not a Mixcloud issue.
I’m curious - if you are an Apple user, what are the advantages of using the Sonos App Mixcloud service vs using the native Mixcloud App and AirPlay? I have always used the native App with AirPlay.
Hi
I’ve had a look at the issues tagged against this thread but I don’t have anything to share other than the currently pinned message at the top and, unfortunately, no workarounds either.
We are aware and our internal issue tracker is still active for this but I don’t have any ETAs I can share. The information I have doesn’t say whether this is on our end or MixCloud’s, which would be why Corry gave the suggestion to talk to them.
I’ll see if I can get more information in the coming days, though it’ll likely stay as ‘aware but no ETA’. If there are any updates, I’ll post them in this thread.

Because now I have all my music services in one (previously easy to use...) app.

Man, how dumb are you guys… see my video, the Sonos desktop app works fine with MixCloud, it is the new mobile app that does not! And you still refer to Mixcloud as being the problem.
man, man, you don’t take your customers very seriously..
Furthermore, I can predict what is going to happen. You guys have a serious problem, set 30Mln aside to fix the app, no bonus or raises, developers are disappointed because they warned your staff about this upcoming disaster, support staff is fed up with answering all these complaining customers, so motivational problems amongst personell. All effort now goes to make the new app even workable again, so this mixcloud issue is at the bottom of the backlog if it is on any backlog anyways..
You will not fix this soon, be onest and tell that to your customers instead of talking around this issue and pointing to mixcloud. Seriously, honesty to your customers is the least you can do right now..
