Controllers and Music services

Historically my Music Library sat on my Qnap, as to reduce the time wasted looking for suitable music, my playlists would stream with no hesitation. Not certain after which Sonos update - my library was recently updated, and a laptop replaced which i feel was overdue. Looking back, I feel the original setup was far easier. Reading up on Qnap forum’s I’m now led to believe that Sonos has somewhat neglected updating their SMB protocols.Something that was working has now stopped. Confused as why Sonos has changed controllers between gen 1’s and 2’s. – A product that I was so proud of to mention and promote, has let me down. I’ve have three play fives for such a long time. 

I have two wifi networks, a 2.4ghz and a 5ghz.I connected the system a month or so ago and everything worked fine, now it cant find the system unless i change my wifi on my phone from 5g to 2.4g network.I have used sonos for years but i moved to a new apartment with a new router a month ago. It hasnt been a issue before.The connection is good, I have full bars on 5ghz all over the apartment so im not sure what’s going on?I can connect to the speakers on spotify on my mac which is on 5g but not on my phone.

I attempted to add Audible as a music service (I likely had added it before, perhaps years ago.)On Amazon’s authorization page it says it was successful.When I return to Sonos (I tried it on both iPhone app and Macbook App), it says Error: This Audible account is already set up on your Sonos. No need to add it again. But it’s not in my list of music services.Any ideas?I have the latest versions of the Sonos and Audible apps on my phone, and have the latest updates to the ‘controllers’ (from the desktop app).Here’s a short video if it helps. sonos audible.mp4

Hi all , just got a new Samsung Galaxy S24+ , the pull down notification for the Sonos seems to partly miss the speech enhancement button , anyone else have a new Samsung with this little hick up ???? 

This is from Sonos end and a link between spotify. This is not network related!I have lives in 3 different countries; Belgium, Netherlands & Malta. So my dns was different as my network to. Ive tried multiple network settings.The problem is everywhere the same with Spotify - Liked songs.Playing music from the Spotify app to sonos is not a problem but I don’t like this way because it’s lags.Tried it with different devices; Iphone, Android, Windows, iMac… nothing changes.Also made a new Sonos account and connected my Spotify and that from my wife and the result is the same. The liked song from Spotify give an “Error 701 Can't add songs to the queue”.On Spotify’s behave I can’t find a topic nor a solution.I had also considered to undouble my Spotify playlist and liked songs and this was without any results.I have Beam Gen 2, Roam, 2 Play1. On all the devices it’s the same result. 

Please add Endel as a compatible music service. The work-arounds are soon annoying. 

I’ll keep this short...Obviously, Sonos and Apple have teamed up to offer a promotion that benefits both companies...and why not. If you’ve been on the fence about subscribing to Apple Music here’s a chance to test drive it for 3 months. However, please be forewarned...the key wording in the promotion clearly states: “New and returning subscribers only”.Simply put; if you have and existing (active) Apple Music subscription you will not; and I repeat, you will not get 3 months of Apple Music for free. Also, don't try to beat the system by cancelling an active subscription thinking you can get 3 months free right away. No, no, no….there is an out-of-subscription time period that must be met.  Just FYI….Enjoy your new Sonos product!

Hello. Sonos user mainly for home cinema. I have an arc/sub gen3 and 2x era 300, a Panasonic ub820 player and 4K uhd blu-rays. it would be interesting to be able to display the audio bitrate in real time on the Sonos application, we already have the indication of the sound mode used (dolby Atmos truehd, multichanel pcm etc) but no bitrate values, also valid on the audio streaming 16 bits / 44khz @1.5mbits/s or 24 bits 48khz @2.1mbits/s for example.  please take account for future update.

Hi All just purchased 2 x 3 ERA 300. How do i claim 3 months free Apple Music 

The queue displays fewer songs then the original spotify playlist. Let's say that the playlist has 300 songs, but looking at the queue, it says there are ony 200.

I have ripped a number of CDs onto my computer’s hard drive and then organized them by Artist/Title. I then updated my Music Library. What I’m seeing in the Sonos app is that some albums appear fine, but there’s a significant number of albums with title “Unknown Album.” Some of the unknown albums are duplicates of correctly labeled albums. I thought syncing my hard drive with Sonos would be simple and straightforward, but I’m now looking at two different representations of my music, some unknown, some duplicates without names. BTW, I Removed and Added my Music Library to Sonos, but that did not correct anything.Can someone offer suggestions as to why the disconnect between my Music Library and Sonos’ misrepresentation? Thanks in advance.

I have successfully connected Spotify, BBC Sounds, Audible and other services to my Nilfisk Sonos speaker. However when attempting to connect Apple Music I repeatedly get an error message after inputting the Apple password when prompted. I want to be able to play my Apple music library songs BUT am not a paid subscriber to Apple Music - is this why?

Only about half of my youtube music playlist is on my sonos app - it will not sync anymore.  I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the router, etc.

I’m using sonos S2 on PC with windows 11. The controller is running a Sonos play 3.I have Spotify and Itunes accounts.Just recently, Sonos cannot find all of my albums on Spotify, although playlists and songs are working ok.Sonos says its a Spotify issue?I cant get an answer from Spotify!I have reloaded Sonos and Spotify, updated etc. to no avail.Does anybody have any good news? 

s there a way to change the order of songs in spotify playlists as they appear in the sonos app?I’d like the newest added to appear at the top.

Anyone else having very small skips with Apple Music on 15.2.1?  Never had this issue before. The skips are a fraction of a second and clickless. It’s not skipping to the next song, but like you removed ½ second of a song  Seems to happen every 1-3 songs - don’t know for sure. There’s a Reddit thread on it so I must not be alone…

I’m a longtime Sonos user but recently I have been unable to drill down to albums in my Tidal searches. I make it as far as the artist, but when I click on albums…spinning wheel of doom.i have already rebooted all Sonos speakers and router. Also deleted Tidal and then added it back again.

I have applied track level volume leveling tags to my library.  Tracks play back at same level on computer speakers using MediaMonkey, MusicBee and WMP, but when played through sonos system volume of different albums is all over the place.  When I look at the properties of each file I can see normalization has been applied. Leveling was done using MediaMonkey.  Files are either mp3 rips or downloaded from Amazon, not iTunes.Thoughts?

Was there before as I've played via YT Music previously. No option now though.Any ideas?App version 11.2, build 571946310 TIA

Hello!  YouTube doesn't start on my ONE SL!Can you help with advice and instructions please?

Am I alone? My wife and I run the Sonos software on 2 iPads and 2 android phones. It is the most undependable software I have ever used. It will disappear from the network on either or both devices in the morning, reappear in the afternoon, and maybe come back in the evening, over and over. Nothing in our network has changed over this time, but whether Sonos will connect is always a guessing game. In contrast, I use Roon for my main stereo system, running it on my iPad and phone. It has never dropped off the network- not once. I am mostly venting here, but if anyone knows a 3rd party app that will run our Play 5, I would love to hear about it. Thanks.  David

I cannot recommend Sonos products for those with large libraries.  Their recommended fix for indexing is to use Plex.  I find Plex to be awkward and slow for music.  But most importantly, it does not import playlists (m3u).  I have a significant time investment in playlists and Plex is dead to me.Maybe there’s better support with Plex Pass, which is a subscription.  But why should I have to pay another company to use Sonos, who I already payed.Other suggestions such as dividing folders just for Sonos is not practical.  Again, large library.Bluesound has a much larger limit.  I’ll be adding this comment wherever Sonos is sold.
