In the new 2024 Sonos App :

Where are the alarms settings?

Where is the Last.fm service?

Where is the Android widget?

This is a real nightmare. I hope Sonos will fix all that asap because what they did releasing this not finished app is scandalous.

Is it possible to go back to an earlier version of Sonos so I can have my favorites list , volume control, timer and alarms back?

Before the worst release ever, adjusting the base on my sub-mini was intuitive, now I guess I’ll never get to adjust it again.

Did you fire your entire UX team when you built this terrible app?  let dumb people like me revert back to that thing that used to work.

This current update is absolutely awful.  I’m contacting other providers of home sound systems.  Sonos support offers ZERO assistance. Anyone have experience with Apple, Bose, Amazon/Google/Alexa, or anything else that isn’t @Sonos ?

The new app is absolutely horrible. What did you guys do. It doesn’t connect to my speakers correctly and the area a huge lag in controlling the volume. Why did you have to change it? The navigation and discovery were perfectly fine in last version.

It feels like the main driver for your app upgrade is to make the app a marketplace for your products. It did not improve the UX.

The new Sonos app is bad. Ive been trying for 4 days. I loved my system, i have had it since 2013. I have 11 sonos speakers all over my home . Media room , Beam speaker 2 surround and sub. The den the same setup, etc..  Today i went to check out the BOSE system, i hate to change, yes it will cost me $$$ , but i cant live with  any longer.

Switching between rooms in the app go’s slow and the system switches back. Switching between numbers in the app is slow, very slow.

Dave….Please take note previous responses to the same issue(s) you describe, where the temporary solution is clear!!!

First,, uninstall Sonos, then you need to go here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/sonos-inc/sonos-for-android/sonos-for-android-16-1-release/sonos-16-1-android-apk-download/

Thank you! Back to the old app and all ok again...

Will this allow me to access my music library and bypass the 913 error? No point me doing so otherwise.

Currently weighing up Sonos alternatives but this may buy me some time.

How am I supposed to control or change the playing queue on the new SONOS app?  Apart from being overall  clunky & far from intuitive, the loss of queue management is a HUGE loss. This system has gone from good to bad to worse over the years.

The new Sonos App is appalling and urgently needs to be rolled back.

I can not believe that a company like Sonos can roll out such a bad and poorly tested, fundamental component of the system.

The best way to redeem yourselves is to admit that this has been an absolute disaster and immediately roll back.

I run a restaurant fully equipped with various Sonos 1, era100 and one sub. Technically I have always been happy with the sound quality and even making publicity. The only thing has always been the app: slow in starting up and not responding when one wants to change volume settings or eq settings. Not even talking about the music lists which get disrupted. After the 7may update, in fact, I couldn’t believe it ! I was telling my waiters : this app REALLY works. The start up was quick, volume control accurate and instant, changing music tracks instant. I couldn’t even believe it ! ….then …2 weeks into the new app, I don’t know what happened (probably another update), I’m struggling (and my waiters) to have this b**** working without interruptions : it got 3 times worse than before the 7 of may revamp. Seriously ?
all is conected in the best possible way, we took care of WiFi interference, state of the art mesh system… so it seems SONOS completely MISSED the point and -WORSE- they are arrogant and this means the beginning of the end of this company. The CEO and other money grabbers around should step down immediately without severance because they are RUINING this company

Like many on here, the app update bricked my entire system.

Several days of messing about I seem to have got it working again. Apologies if covered elsewhere, but deleting the app and reinstalling it at first got it to recognise my system (after days of it saying No Products Found).

Playback on some services such as Mixcloud, Spotify was then possible, but not on others such as BBC Sounds and TuneIn - so I removed these services from the app, then re-added them, which seemed to work. I have been testing all my services for the last hour across each of my devices (Play, Roam, One, Beam) and each seem to be working

There are still loads of features missing compared to the old app and it still seems a bit laggy, but for now I can at least listen to some music. (Whether that it still the case tomorrow remains to be seen!)

This is a classic example of rolling out an “improvement?’ for something that may have needed some tweaking.  This new improved app has resulted in nothing but frustration for the users and overburdening the poor call center people who spend their day talking to angry customers after a wait of 45 min on hold.

Remove everyone involved in creating this disaster and bring back the old app that was quirky but worked.  Note to previous app users, NEVER UPDATE SOMETHING THAT WAS WORKING!

New Sonos app gas a very very poor UI and currently no support for Spotify, YouSee, Itunes, DR.…

I Hope you very soon get it to work again...?

Wondering why it was not tested in a Beta version.?

The title says it all. Sonos is failing at customer success and because of that likely to lose their company.

I’ve been in SaaS for 20 years, and the key to long-term success is mitigating churn. Releasing an app unannounced, with clear flaws, in order to support a new device (headphones) that many loyal customers may or may not ever use was a bullet to your metaphorical gut.

The key to success with SaaS is low churn. I suspect, if you don’t do something about how angry your loyal customers are, you will feel the financial impact of this mistake until you turn off the company lights.

I’ve been a loyal customer since 2018. Every floor of my house, my spa, my garage, etc….have Sonos speakers. I was, until going online today to find out why my app sucked so bad, a loyal brand ambassador, telling people who asked or who were interested, that there is no other choice but Sonos.

As of this moment, I’d make this the last choice. You really need to have someone responding to all the complaints here, giving us updates as to when, and in what order, the myriad mistakes will be fixed. I, for example, am really wanting the simple numbers back on my volume bars so I can set the TV audio. Not a huge ask, but massive with a kid who wants to blare cartoons.

If I were CEO (and I’ve been a CEO…eww….) I would release a public statement explaining what went wrong, identifying who is paying the price, and then outlining the steps being taken to repair the damage.

Be an adult here. Own up. Fix it. Switching costs are high. I don’t want to switch, but I will, and replacing me will be expensive.

Good luck!

So the new Sonos app is a really catastrophic !!! Lot of bug and things missing. Disappoint about volume setup, and so many other things.
please give us the old app back!!!

What is wrong with the * app upgrade!!!!!???
can’t connect Amazon or Apple.

what a piece of crap!!!!

In home you added the ability to personalizzate the order…

but in preferiti Sonos now song list and station are listed togheter. and can not change the order

For separate song list and station I must expand the group, and even this way unable to sort.

in alarm you can only select statio and song from Sonos favorite

play station from radio player or mytuner is no more possible from list, involving another tap after selecting the station, and anothe 2 tap for selecting … button for tapping only to tap on the only chi è for add remove to preferiti Sonos

in the running music speaker play station from radio services do not have icon graphics or color, available only on Sonos radio

3 weeks are gone, may be better next week

A week after emailing the CEO I finally got a generic and likely auto-generated response - "we appreciate your feedback, features will be added in the coming weeks" blah, blah, blah.

Hopefully that will be of benefit to whoever buys my Sonos speakers, I'll have switched by then, just finalising a deal to replace and expand my current set up. Having had no access to my music library for three weeks I'm not prepared to sit on my hands waiting for Sonos to decide if and I when I can get it back.

Personally I don't feel that a company willing to upset, inconvenience and then ignore it's existing customers just to get in the headphones market is worthy of my blind loyalty. Best of luck to those of you hanging on for a resolution, I hope it all works out as you deserve better.

I just downloaded the new sonos app and am very disappointed.

not at all readable and intuitive. Just a small detail, the sound volume level has disappeared and made it difficult to find my playlists. Brief! I don't like it at all and prefer the old version.

Although decried as a myth, every couple of years,  small Arctic rodents gather in large numbers and hurl themselves to death off high cliffs.

In celebration of this, the new upgrade app has now been renamed as the Sonos S2 Lemming Edition.

It is widely rumoured that a further subsequent release may be called the Dodo Edition, honouring the extinct flightless bird and recalling the phrase 'Dead as a Dodo'.

Users suggestions for app naming should be forwarded to the Marketing Strategy Division.  Thank you.

I really hate it 🙁 very buggy

I think visually it looks fine. My issue is that it fails to open 70% of the time, crashes when I open it. Frankly, it’s a disgrace. Your head of software development should quietly pack their things and hand in their resignation. If we produced this in my workplace, the entire team would be let go. Yep. Sacked.

Having been a Sonos user since 2012, the early IOS app, was simple design but worked a dream. Black background and blue writing.
Super responsive and never had errors. Since then they have just made the UI pretty but oh so glitchy. A buggy new app just so they can release the headphones, unreal!

The new app is horrific.  Unuseable

Think back (if you’re old enough) to the, 60’s or early 70’s when General Motors decided that it made more sense and was cheaper to cut back on quality control and thus make lousier cars and let the buyers take their cars into the shop for any repairs.  That went over well.  GM traded cost effectiveness for client satisfaction.  Foreign makers moved into that now empty space of ‘clients come first’ and American car manufacturers have never recoverd.  Take a lesson, Sonos….
