Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

Is there a way to add a song or album to the que n the new Sonos app? The onlu option I see is to,replace the entire que.
Hi All,Anyone know how you can get the volume level i.e 20% volume on the new app update to appear? It just gives you the volume slider with no number next to it. Thanks All.
I just updated to v 80.00.04 of the ios app and I can’t see any way to shuffle my entire music library. I can still do it from the desktop app and it will then work on the app but the queue comes up as empty and there appears to be no way to initiate a shuffle of the music library from the app.Am I missing something or is this somebody’s bright idea of an “improvement”?
How can I get the old app back?
I believe this move was Sonos trying to force previously satisfied customers into Sonos’ own, ad-supported, Spotify-lite ecosystem. Idiocy and incompetence are also plausible explanations, but I think this was a business decision they made explicitly.Either way, the new app is a disaster, and the bad faith continues in that Sonos have done nothing to delete this update and allow us to revert back to the prior controller app.I can no longer search my own library. I mean, seriously? I cannot build or edit queues of my own music. Seriously?Talk about destroying brand loyalty. Well done. Hundreds and hundreds of dollars spent building my system and now you’ve effectively burned it to the ground.FIX THIS.
I opened my Android phone yesterday and discovered my Sonos widgets were gone. I was going to just carry on using the Sonos app which, so far, works fine but the sleep timer feature is also gone. Will it and the widgets be reinstated?
Bunch of 💩 s*** company. Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
Apparently with this new failed update came with play.sonos.com. I do not consent to my devices being remotely accessible. Sonos doesn't even support 2FA. Why on earth would I want them remotely accessible across the whole internet? WTF.
Hi all Initial thoughts on the new play.sonos.com. Good concept, I love the idea of having a web app that I can control from any browser. I used slimserver for 20 years and was used to doing this in a browser anyway. But it’s sooooooo slow. Really slow to navigate and to actually do anything, and you have to refresh the page to see what’s actually playing based on what you’ve chosen on other devices.I uninstalled the Windows app last week. Today I reinstalled it.Just my 2p. Jim
S2 app updated and now can not get anything on Global Player. I have tried removing the Global Player and reloading signed in to Global still no change. Removed the Sonos app and reloaded nothing. Tried restating the system, router , iphone still nothing. Please can you tell me how I can resolve this as the new app does seem to have limited tools in settings. The only thing that has changed is the update to the S2 app ever thing worked correctly before the change.
I use the audible UK library. This is accessible using the old S2 app. Using the new Web app, this defaults to Audible.com and my library is no longer available.😝 Best descriptor for this catastrophic update: car crash, dumpster fire, piss up in a brewery. You choose!
As is evidenced by all of the posts here, the new App is not fit for purpose. This means that we, the users, need a plan of action to deliver all of the functionality we need. We need this in hours/days not weeks/months.The obvious solution is to backout the New App and redeliver the previous one. Please can someone from Sonos explain why this has not happened already?
Where is the alarm?
I now have the new app i quire like the interface and it is not "laggy". Ideally So os should have waited until sleep timer, alarms and music library index were properly integrated. Puzzling to understand their thinking - bad PR is Bad PR. I have one music service not working but I do believe this is a step forward.
I use an iPad for controlling my digital music. I would like to revert back to the previous S2 version for the time being.
How dare you call this an update. Don’t you people ever check anything before you roll it out. Most of my playlists have disappeared. Navigating is 100% more difficult.I want my old version back otherwise ALL my costly Sonos gear is going straight in the small electrical recycling bin at the local tip - because that’s pretty much all it is worth now.You treat customers with contempt.
Despite my best efforts, the Sonos App has updated (WTF!). It's pretty awful.... Lots of missing or half-arsed features (eg. Playlists - you can only play from track 1 on to end - no way to reorder). It's sluggish with creaky sliding/Pop-up panels. Aesthetically, it's gaudily awful with a mix of hard and overblown round edges. It's 'horrible. The sliding tiles induce a feeling of nausea after a while. Horizontal lists are edged with a strange mist-like effect - quite bizarre!Compared to other modern app interfaces, such as BLUOS, Roon, etc it has a long way to go. What a relief to return to the pure Material interface (a sort of modern Bauhaus of app design) of LMS.
Please can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong because even though I believe I’ve turned off auto updates, both my iPad Pro and now one of my Android phones have been infected with this mess of a new version.I turned off auto updates in the app and also unchecked the option to allow auto update in the google playstore but this morning I now find that my main Android phone has this new version.I daren’t turn on the other phones in case they auto update and I’m left with a system that is totally unfit for purpose for my needs.
OMG!! What have you done Sonos. This new update is horrendous. Heads must roll and the old features reinstalled. The Sonos system is almost unusable. Awful.
Hardware approx 10 years old, running the S2 OS. The old app works absolutely fine but the “new Improved” app on either the iphone or iPad refuses to recognise any of them. Luckily my better half has not updated this awful app on her devices or she’d be marching straight to Sonos HQ. For now, having to control every speaker in the household via her device(s) or via a Windows laptop. Sonos should get the team that tested this application to issue a grovelling apology to everyone affected and sort this one out asap.
Have a few playlists that have more than 100 songs. in the new app when I recall those it seems only 100 are displayed. is this an error?
The new app shows my named groups, but I don’t see any place to add or remove them? Plus as the Desktop apps have never supported them, that’s not a work-around either.
Hello! It’s nice with a new face on the app. Good work! But one thing I’ve noticed is that when you change the volume, it no longer show the “amount” of volume. The numbers are gone. Why?We use that a lot to set the volume on the system in different rooms. We hope it’s just something you missed, and that you will add later? Or is it a setting somewhere in the app?
I can't believe I just received this email from Sonos 😱
This is very worrying for its customersSonos should quickly make the old version available. This does not excuse explanations and excuses from Sonos
