Ive added a room and synced a speaker by mistake to it, how do i remove the rouge room ?
Is the sonos app compatible with Windows10 phone?
My Sony TV does not have a Sonos App and it can be a problem using our phone app (our 1 phone is not always "home"). Is there any way to work around this, perhaps by downloading the app to a USB stick and connecting the USB stick to the TV? Probably a stupid idea!
Sadly SONOS have enough on trying to get the buggy voice integration software stable and addressing users being disappointed and underwhelmed by the lack of functionality. The competition are almost upon them.... From CNET this morning... Sonos executives must be looking at vast tech companies making smart speakers and resisting the urge to hum a dirge. Amazon launched its latest Echos last week. Google on Wednesday presented its new Homes -- including a charmingly unattractive Max that claims to offer quite a boom. Then there's Apple, whose music-based HomePod comes to market in Common sense would be to heed the adverse feedback on the new app and revert to the old version, which had few issues being raised. Or at least give the user the choice. I know that 'Sonos knows best' is value often perceived by customers but carrying on regardless over this issue could be huge distraction and add to what must be a worrying time for the company. Show some courage Sono
Since the last update rolled out a few days ago the Sonos app on my phone is taking forever and a day to launch. I timed it this afternoon, the black "Sonos" screen was there for four and a half minutes before the app finally came up. This has been the case every time I've tried to open the app to turn my system on or off or change the station. Needless to say, it is tiresome. Once the app appeared all was good. Is this problem unique to me? What might it be thinking about while it's sitting there? Any suggestions beyond the obvious of power cycling everything? (didn't help) The app on my Mac comes up as fast as usual. All systems are running the most recent versions of software, as of this morning.
Hi, I'm relatively new to Sonos and have my computer running the Sonos app, streaming out to speakers via WIFI. My issue is that I want to add my MP3 collection to Sonos, all guides tell me to use the Manage menu but almost all options there are greyed out. The settings screen only shows date & time options. By searching these forums the standard reply seem to be a version mismatch between the Sonos app and hardware. How can I fix this? The version of my Sonos app is 8.0 -- what can I do to make sure that the versions are correct and I can access all settings? It's not like I can update my speakers or what is going on? This is fairly urgent so any feedback is greatly appreciated. Best wishes Wim
what are the steps to follow to make playlists ?
I've downloaded version 6.4 of the app. What a mistake. To anyone who is about to do it, DON'T DO IT IF YOU LIKE YOUR QUEUE. Sonos please put it back how it was. This new app is so awful I am considering selling my entire Sonos rig (6 pieces!) and walking away from you, after what was until this week, many happy years. Touching on a track because I want to play it, or add it to the queue (the queue that I DID WANT), does not mean I want to delete the whole queue and replace it with the entire album (which I DON'T WANT) which the newly added track comes from. If I wanted to delete my queue, I would delete it. If I wanted to add the whole album, I would add it using the play all function. You've just taken something intuitive and user friendly which worked so well and turned it into a worse than hateful mess. PLEASE UNDO THIS AWFUL, HORRIBLE CHANGE.
I know you guys are working on an Amazon Echo voice based interface so I figured I would add a suggestion. The new Echo Show is impressive and adds screen functionality that could give users a visual into their Sonos whole home system that would surpass the latest Apple offering. I strongly suggest that your development team look into an Echo Show based controller also. The new Amazon device like Sonos is a game changer. Keep up the great work!
Have turned two separate rooms into one. How do I remove two play one’s which were in one room and add them to a playbar and two other play one’s in the now one room?
When using the SONOS app on a Chromebook, it will start playing a song successfully. But when the next song begins, the new song never appears in the GUI. It still shows the old song. It also eventually stops responding to stop requests. It seems to lose communication with the speakers until I forcibly stop the app and restart it.
Not only is it less intuitive and a HORRIBLE white (see other threads but really, what were they thinking?), but the advanced settings appear to have been removed from the new app. This means I can no longer connect my Android tablet to Sonosnet - unless someone can point me in the right direction?
A poll to see who prefers the older or the newer software version. Opinion seems very strong. EDIT: I can't edit but would like POLL: In front of the thread title.
why would Sonos us my 4g data?
I was told that Sonos were going to have Chromecast Builtin like many other TV and Audio manufacturers have already done. So I kitted my home out with Google Home and most of the devices that are compatible it. I have had Sonos devices in my home since they first came to the UK. I've been eagerly waiting for Sonos to announce that Chromecast has now been installed in their speakers and other devices so that I can use Google Home with Sonos. When can I hope to see Chromecast Builtin rolled out from Sonos?
I just upgraded and I can’t find where to click when a song is playing and you want to save it in your favorites section...and by the way, where did the favorites section for songs go (I only see playlists and stations in the My Sonos section)?
I want to remove all speakers from an existing room and re-setup my system.
Hi It would be a great idea to create some new, more modern, skins for the sonos controller for Windows. Perhaps make it user-skinnable. There's alot of great 'artists' out there who can create some great skins. The standard skin is just not that great.. buttons too small, the dark colour is just depressing and makes it feel so heavy.. The interface is actually one of the things that is interfering with my sonos experience. It may sound a bit smallish but the interface is the gateway into the sonos experience and if that is a turnoff then the whole experience will suffer.
According to the article I read.... "The Alexa feature will be a free software upgrade for existing Sonos hardware. A private beta later this year will be expanded to public release early in 2017." My question... HOW DO I GET ON THE BETA? I have four Play 1 and a Play 3 setup thru my house (living room and two betdrooms). I'd love to be able to control the music for my Sonos system thru my Alexa (and DOT) system. Anyone know how to get on these betas? TIA
Shockingly bad design and not good for my NAS drive that the app always starts on the My Sonos page and so tries to load the artwork for my library playlists. I would like to revert back to the previous version please but don't know how.
Given the recent news from Sonos covering airplay support, will this include the Sonos amp?
Not sure if this is the right place for this, but it appears that Amazon is incorporating the Alexa (Echo) voice control inside of the Amazon app on iOS. https://9to5mac.com/2017/03/16/amazon-iphone-ipad-alexa-amazon-app/ This should make things interesting when Sonos' integration is completed. Yet one more way to access your music, without needing to be in the same room as your Echo device.
In July this year I bought 11 speaker Sonos. I spent more than $ 4,500 to buy. The first two months I was glad that I bought Sonos. Butt then there was a bitter reckoning. Sonos blocked the ability to add new music services to the system, the same way Sonos blocked the ability to add new speakers to the system. There was it because at me on phone Ios 8.4 and on the computer Mac Os 10.9.5 That is, yesterday everything worked but today Sonos decided to turn everything off. I wrote a letter to the support team, and received a response: "....Technology is always advancing and growing and softwares become outdated....you do need to update the OS on both the iPhone and MacBook..." So here, someone in the company of Sonos decided to make me keep up with the technological progress. I want this, or I do not want, in Sonos nobody cares about my desires. Just Sonos will force you buy new phone, computer or another device. And if you do not want to "keep pace with technological progress", thr
Hi there, I'm not really one to complain because my sonos equipment is the best I've ever brought. But I must say. I've just done the new update and I think it's a load of rubbish! I don't want my playlist clearing when I want to play another, I'd like to clear it myself thank you please! What do others think? Please take this on board, thank you .
Rather than "include (randomly) linked rooms" which can be very arbitrary depending on how rooms were linked prior to an alarm, provide a checkbox for which zones should be included in the alarm, so that a single alarm always rings simultaneously in those zones. (system of checkboxes for including zones would be similar how days of the week are currently chosen)
