Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

As Sonos asked for constructive criticism and feedback in response to the 8.0 backlash, here's my take on it. WHAT"S WRONG WITH IT? The new app has quite a lengthy list of issues. Several of which aren't even points of debate as they are so obvious. I'll start with quickly highlighting those before moving on to the fundamental problem, which is the new way of navigation. Too bright The new predominantly white design is a problem in any context with dimmed light (evening living room, bedroom, etc). It's no coincedence in this regard that GPS systems have a night mode In addition the elements that did remain black - like the current room or the nav bar - don't draw attention and feel inactive. When switching rooms for example, I'm inclined to tap the room a second time, as making the current selection darker just doesn't feel like on. Big and bloated Pretty much every overview in the interface has become big and bloated. Because of that, these screens do no
I have just updated my Play 3 with update 8.1.1, now nothing will play, I can not add anything to queue, either on my dest top or mobile app. Are songs aware of this issue? Any help would be greatly appriecated.
Is it me, why can you not play all tracks added to the Sonos Favorites list at once/queue them all? it seems counter intuitive you can add to the list fine, and play the odd track - great, what's annoying is the sudden silence when your track finishes. You can play all tracks from a playlist - why not the Sonos Favorites? Instead replace Sonos Favorites with 'THE QUEUE'. [yes i know it kind of exists] but needs to be much more prominent and accessible. You can then see on whatever controller what the heck is actually playing..a much more useful feature.
Guys the information you provide to unlink an unauthorised email account is in adequate and does not contain the information that is needed. Furthermore sending the same information by email from technical support is pointless. The android app does not contain any link to remove an unauthorised email account instead it says that a speaker/device needs to be added to an unauthorised email account. Sonos need to provide an easy link from the Settings page of the app.
The app on Android is much harder to use. Voice control is nice, but the design is not intuitive. This is just my opinion and I'm giving it time but it is just not easy to use.
Ok so I have a sonos in my bathroom. What Id like to do is set up three playlist from apple music that Ive made to be able to be played while getting ready. Considering that pressing the pop button can only start a playlist, does that mean everytime i take a shower Ill only hear the first 5 or so songs in the playlist? can i use ifttt or my smart things or harmony hub to shuffle my playlist?
Nearly 2 years ago I purchased multiple Sonos speakers. I have no regrets, as Sonos truly sounds magnificent. Sonos also has a top notch customer service, for if you have connection problems. What else could you ask for… Well, how about giving us the Sonos controller interface we deserve. At the moment it’s terrible! I’d like to see it made better, more complete and more intuitive. At the moment I’m running the app on Windows 10 and Android. I would like to address the following issues. Issues that prevent me from exploiting the biggest pro Sonos has to offer me! Making playlists with nearly unlimited possible variations. I like to hang upside down on my sofa clicking around doing all I want with just one app! The Windows 10 desktop controller app In general: • The search bar cannot browse all platforms at the same time (e.g., a separate search has to be made for Soundcloud, Spotify, your music library and so on). Not convenient at all. • Minimal track details, just
I am so sad to say that they have not yet done this. However, if they read any of the feedback that customers are leaving on Google Play or here on this website they must be thinking about it. But it is hard to announce that you made a HUGE mistake. It takes guts. PLEASE HELP TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO ROLL BACK..... Sonos ALL COULD BE FORGIVEN, just tell us that you will give us back the old phone App or something that looks, feels and works like it did.
When changing from one room to another I first have to select the new room together with the old one and accept. Then I have to remove the old room and accept before I can use the new room. Extremely annoying. No problems before upgrading to new and worse version of app.:@:@:@
Can I play Sonos-sourced music on AirPods?
Siri is used by so many people, and now that HomePod is being released how will you compete with that Siri integration?
Finished standard setting up of a second hand Play 3 after long struggle. Ready to move speaker but it stops working when I disconnect the ethernet cable. Any ideas please.
Since the latest update (which i dont like by the way) I am finding it difficult to deselect rooms. If i am playing music in multiple rooms bur then want to remove one room i will uncheck the box for that room, press done but the room still remains in. Anyone else finding this problem?
I've been a big Sonos fan for many years. Boy am I frustrated with latest iOS app!! The biggest thing that irks me is if my app is focused on one room and I want to change my focus to another room, I can't do it without first joining the two rooms into a group! It happens every time, without fail. For example, my wife will have started playing something (via her iphone) in the kitchen, and asks me to change it to another station. I bring up my iPhone, and notice that my app is currently set for Living Room speakers. So I click on Living Room at the bottom, and I see all my zones and only Living Room is checked. Since I want Kitchen, I uncheck Living Room OFF and check Kitchen ON. Then I click Done. Does it switch me to Kitchen? NOOOO. It keeps my iPhone on Living Room. I do it over and over, to no avail. It leaves me wherever I was before. The ONLY way to get my iPhone to switch to Kitchen is to select BOTH Living Room and Kitchen, let the music play in both rooms (which I
Im having this problem a lot!! id tried to reset my modem, disconnect an reconnect the speaker, nothing works!! and the problem have been increasing last 3 weeks... some times a can listen music at all during the day, some times it works and suddenly in the middle of the song the music turns off or change the song.
2 days ago I set up two Sonos 1 plays in one room. All ok until I began the Trueplay part. SONOS app needs to get permission to access the iPad microphone. The app did not appear in the “Settings / Privacy / Microphone” section. I have created submitted this to SONOS support but have not heard from them for 48 hours - help!
I have recently changed phones, and on the lock screen, I have the 'Sonos Playbar app' which shows it is connected to my Wireless system. But I DO NOT have a playbar, but other Sonos solutions. I have removed the Sonos app thinking that would fix the problem, but the Playbar is still there on my lockscreen. I have searched, but cannot find a solution to removing this, so I hope someone here can help.
I recently got a new iPhone and it automatically transferred the contents of the old one to the new one. While all of my music transferred, the SONOS app picks up less than half of it now. Should I delete the app and reinstall? Or is there another easier way?
Each time I try to update the Sonos software to 8.1.1 on an iMac it says there is an error but no further information as to how to solve this. For info: the internet is working fine, as is the system (Playbar + 2 Play 3s). Does anyone know how I might be able to update?
I have 2 sonos 1 speakers (black and white) in my kitchen that are a stereo pair. I have a single sonos 1 (white) speaker in my sunroom. I want to put the two white ones in the kitchen. I can't figure out how to reconfigure them. After moving the black one to the sunroom and the white one to the kitchen they still are identified with where they previously were. How to I change them?
SONOS, now is not the time to be silent. People have spent SIGNIFICANT money on your products, and for you to FORCE an update on everyone, an update that the large majority find unusable, unstable, and overall just BAD, we need to hear from you on what your intentions are. Transparency is important. Do not just sit back and be silent. Don't make us sort through hundreds of posts to find whatever information you are giving. Put information clearly on your support page. In the future, remember that your software is tied to very expensive hardware that we, your customers, have purchased. Before you go making huge changes to the software, how about putting it out as a trial, or send users emails with images of the UI, demo site, so we can give feedback BEFORE you ruin everyone's systems? Or better yet, give us a ROLLBACK option that works.
I recently moved... upon resetting up Sonos I had to reset the devices - my wifi/networking setup changed significantly... thus, I lost my playlists/favorites in Sonos... Shouldn't there be a way that the favorites and playlists saved in Sonos be stored with some sort of resilience, or linked to my account instead of to the device registration so they aren't lost if the devices are reset? Am I missing something and this is already being done?
Hi all, just wanted to say I am selling my Sonos devices. After the death of my 2nd CR200 I found neither the iOS nor the Android app are appropriate replacements. For me it's (most of) all about convenience. And after a few weeks with another (officially long dead) music system I now decided I found a good replacement (but only because there is this Android app which is, in its simplicity, similar to the CR200!)
While you sit in your conference rooms and debate the 8.x app with corporate speak sentences like "They will get used to it" and "This happens every major upgrade" and "Scale-able, cross-platform modern blah blah blah.....". One thing that has never happened before with my Sonos house happened last night. And it is important you realize the significance. I had three couples over for drinks and I put on one of my playlists and then I turned the ipad over and placed it under my bar. I did it without thinking - it just seemed less distracting that way. This morning i did think about it however. I had never done that before. I tend to hand off the Ipad and let guests marvel at my wonderful Sonos system. I let them pick music from the seemingly endless inventory of tunes from Google and Apple. Soon old songs are played that bring back great memories - people sing and some might even dance. It almost always turns into a "So what is this Sonos thing?". Last night. That did no
Well .. I'm about 2 weeks into owning my Sonos system and overall liking it .. not loving it. I dislike the app .. mainly that you have to drill down many levels to get to EQ and Balance settings. These could easily be available near each Rooms volume setting. I've tried searching but can't find good 3rd party apps that provide a more intuitive interface ..any recommendations?
