Im having this problem a lot!! id tried to reset my modem, disconnect an reconnect the speaker, nothing works!! and the problem have been increasing last 3 weeks... some times a can listen music at all during the day, some times it works and suddenly in the middle of the song the music turns off or change the song.
2 days ago I set up two Sonos 1 plays in one room. All ok until I began the Trueplay part. SONOS app needs to get permission to access the iPad microphone. The app did not appear in the “Settings / Privacy / Microphone” section. I have created submitted this to SONOS support but have not heard from them for 48 hours - help!
I have recently changed phones, and on the lock screen, I have the 'Sonos Playbar app' which shows it is connected to my Wireless system. But I DO NOT have a playbar, but other Sonos solutions. I have removed the Sonos app thinking that would fix the problem, but the Playbar is still there on my lockscreen. I have searched, but cannot find a solution to removing this, so I hope someone here can help.
I recently got a new iPhone and it automatically transferred the contents of the old one to the new one. While all of my music transferred, the SONOS app picks up less than half of it now. Should I delete the app and reinstall? Or is there another easier way?
Each time I try to update the Sonos software to 8.1.1 on an iMac it says there is an error but no further information as to how to solve this. For info: the internet is working fine, as is the system (Playbar + 2 Play 3s). Does anyone know how I might be able to update?
I have 2 sonos 1 speakers (black and white) in my kitchen that are a stereo pair. I have a single sonos 1 (white) speaker in my sunroom. I want to put the two white ones in the kitchen. I can't figure out how to reconfigure them. After moving the black one to the sunroom and the white one to the kitchen they still are identified with where they previously were. How to I change them?
SONOS, now is not the time to be silent. People have spent SIGNIFICANT money on your products, and for you to FORCE an update on everyone, an update that the large majority find unusable, unstable, and overall just BAD, we need to hear from you on what your intentions are. Transparency is important. Do not just sit back and be silent. Don't make us sort through hundreds of posts to find whatever information you are giving. Put information clearly on your support page. In the future, remember that your software is tied to very expensive hardware that we, your customers, have purchased. Before you go making huge changes to the software, how about putting it out as a trial, or send users emails with images of the UI, demo site, so we can give feedback BEFORE you ruin everyone's systems? Or better yet, give us a ROLLBACK option that works.
I recently moved... upon resetting up Sonos I had to reset the devices - my wifi/networking setup changed significantly... thus, I lost my playlists/favorites in Sonos... Shouldn't there be a way that the favorites and playlists saved in Sonos be stored with some sort of resilience, or linked to my account instead of to the device registration so they aren't lost if the devices are reset? Am I missing something and this is already being done?
Hi all, just wanted to say I am selling my Sonos devices. After the death of my 2nd CR200 I found neither the iOS nor the Android app are appropriate replacements. For me it's (most of) all about convenience. And after a few weeks with another (officially long dead) music system I now decided I found a good replacement (but only because there is this Android app which is, in its simplicity, similar to the CR200!)
While you sit in your conference rooms and debate the 8.x app with corporate speak sentences like "They will get used to it" and "This happens every major upgrade" and "Scale-able, cross-platform modern blah blah blah.....". One thing that has never happened before with my Sonos house happened last night. And it is important you realize the significance. I had three couples over for drinks and I put on one of my playlists and then I turned the ipad over and placed it under my bar. I did it without thinking - it just seemed less distracting that way. This morning i did think about it however. I had never done that before. I tend to hand off the Ipad and let guests marvel at my wonderful Sonos system. I let them pick music from the seemingly endless inventory of tunes from Google and Apple. Soon old songs are played that bring back great memories - people sing and some might even dance. It almost always turns into a "So what is this Sonos thing?". Last night. That did no
Well .. I'm about 2 weeks into owning my Sonos system and overall liking it .. not loving it. I dislike the app .. mainly that you have to drill down many levels to get to EQ and Balance settings. These could easily be available near each Rooms volume setting. I've tried searching but can't find good 3rd party apps that provide a more intuitive interface ..any recommendations?
I was under the impression that Sonos was the market leaders it this sector, so I paid what I thought was over the odds for my system. the speaker are ok but the app is a disaster. It is defiantly not user friendly and hard to use. I thought it was because it was now to me, but I've been using it a couple of months and its still terrible. I want to use my iPhone and my Mac on this system, but am finding it impossible for them to work together correctly in unison, and read my play lists. I'm not interested in all the extra paid for music site , just my music, which I've paid for and is on my system. After reading the app reviews I see I'm not the only person. I actually think my 10 year old son could build a better app .
I'm on holiday in a foreign country and I'm panicking that I've left my 6am alarm active while I'm gone. It's set to be very very loud and I'm worried for my neighbours' sanity. I'm quite restricted in what I can install from the web as the only desktop machines I have access to are in internet cafes. Is there a way to deactivate alarms from off-network using just my Android phone? Alternatively, is it possible for me to direct a family member to deactivate from off-network (they don't have keys to my place) using their desktop controller with my login credentials?
Please can you get my devices to remember my Username/Password? Since Update 8.1.0 I have to reset the whole system at least twice a day as it is not found by my Android Phone. Tonight play just stopped half way through a track and I couldn't get contact with it at all. Then. whilst I am obviously stressed I am expected to type stuff into a minute box to access my own system (Which I still can't) There is actually no need whatsoever for a username/password. My TV doesn't need one My Microwave doesn't need one My heating system doesn't need one My DVD doesn't need one My BuRay doesn't need one My Chromecast doesn't need one My Android Box doesn't need one Crikey !! What is ti with you Sonos Bods ?
Sonos controller doesn't work on Windows 7 Professional on Parallels Desktop 9 running from a bootcamp installation on a 2012 MacBook Air with OSX 10.9. Sonos controller runs fine in OSX or in plain bootcamp boot-up of Windows on this same machine. Is the Sonos controller incompatible with Parallels? I am guessing this is a port or firewall issue and I am not expert in those areas.
I upgraded my Sonos Play 1 with a Play One. I wanted to keep the original, so I renamed it "Den". I have now changed my mind and ended up selling the Sonos Play 1. It's been almost a week and I still show the old Sonos Play 1 named "Den" in my rooms list. How do I get rid of it?
I have Russound multi zone controller. Alltogehter 10 zones. And I use Russound. I have also one zone in Sonos and now I would like to make the whole house for Sonos. Are there any possibilities to connect Sonos with Russound multi zone or do I really have to by 10 Sonos Connect amps and throw away my Russound system?
Hello, My Sonos music library worked fine for years. But then a few months ago, I couldn't access it anymore. I tried removing and re-adding, but I have never been able to add the library since. I've seen lots of people with the same problems, but none of the fixes have worked for me. Notes: * Error message: "Sonos was unable to add the music folder. Unable to add the shared folder "[//computer name/musicfolder]" to your Music Library (1002)." * Diagnostic #7458012 * Running Mac Sierra 10.12.5 (problem may have started with upgrade to Sierra) * Controller is up to date * Music folder is on the same desktop computer hard drive as the controller — that is, it's not on an external drive or NAS * Firewall is off So far I have tried: * Uninstalling and reinstalling the controller * Making sure sharing settings are set correctly (SMB on) * Renaming my computer (to shorten the name so it's fewer than 15 characters — I know this is a common issue, but it's made no difference
I know this is has been touched on but has anyone figured out how to setup a wall controller of any kind for Sonos? I have Sonos in every room of my house and I thought it would be nice for the guest room to have access to volume controls. My family just uses their phones. I know the option to use old Android phones has been brought up before but I was looking for something a little more "analog".
Hi there. I'm new to the Sonos game. So far I love it but still have a couple of questions. I have my account set up and my controller on my iPhone which controls a Sonos One in the Bedroom and a Sonos 3 in the Living Room. Now, if my wife wants her own controller on her phone (or tablet, or where ever), would she need to create her own Songs account and log in with her log in info so she can create her own "My Sonos" area on her controller? I put the app on her phone and it asked if I want to join the existing network or create a new one. I tried 'join the existing' and the app populated with all my settings like my favorite stations and in the "My Sonos" area. Should I have set up a new account for her? How does that work? Thank you so much for your help.
Upgraded yesterday and really dislike the new layout, you redisgned something that just didn’t really need it. Anyone else feel the same?
I realize there are a few posts already about this. I just want to add another extremely disappointed user to the mix. Living in Canada, we don't get Pandora. Sonos is next best as we can use Apple Music. What was a rich experience, is now dumbed down. The connect is essentially a Play 1 without an amplifier and speaker, but more expensive. A connect was sold to make your current system a sonos system. Now my current system can't control it and I am forced to use the app, another step for us! What is annoying is... it worked great, and they took it all away. Not like I bought it and wanted features not available. Sonos decided to make the move to REMOVE features from clients. Disgusted.
Hello, here is the setup I am hoping for: Sonicwall firewall/router Controller on a VLAN interface, 172.16.x.x (wireless through Unifi access point) Sonos Connect on different wired interface interface, 10.10.100.x Is this feasible or should I just go ahead and put the Sonos Connect on the same wireless network as the Controller? If this is possible, any tips would be much appreciated Thanks!
I was able to do it before, but now I get an error message
We have three SONOS speakers at the office and often times when we need to stream a track for whatever reason, someone else might be streaming to it. How do we determine who is streaming to the SONOS, so that we can either kick them off or ask them to release the stream.
