Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

I can understand why the sleep timer was so basic when it ran on the old controllers. Now that it's running on smart phones why is it still so primitive? How about either letting people select the clock time to shut off (e.g. 1:30) or at least control the number of minutes/hours to play before stopping. Only allowing 15 minutes, 1/2 hour, 1 hour or 2 hours is just not nearly flexible enough.
I've got three Sonos units and each one has a dedicated widget on my phone's homescreen. Tapping a widget used to open the Sonos app and take me straight to that room. This seems to no longer be the case? Tapping any widget now just opens the app at whichever room was last in focus. Is this a known bug, and is there a fix on the horizon?
Hi, I just updated my Sonos software and now my 2 CR100's no longer works! There was no warning of this. Can I roll back the update? This is completely unacceptable.
Just did the update, really. Last version worked perfectly. How do we go backwards with an update. Unresponsive and slow as hell.
I can play my spotify playlist through Sonos ok. But when I want to add a new song to the playlist, I can't because the add option is greyed out. Anyone know how to do this?
I have no sound coming from my play 1 surround speakers when thebtv is playing. Here is my diagnostic number 4067673.
I cannot add my music file. My PC controller 8.5 gets an error message says "the computer is not responding" (computer is otherwise fine). Checked firewalls and they allow access.
I have been a happy user and ambasador for Sonos for 14 years. During 14 years I have had to restart the controller once or twice. Then Sonos choosed to discontinue development of their controller. My controller "died" 4 month ago, and I was forced to substitute it with tablets and phones. Now I have nothing but trouble; most of it probably related to my wifi which is my problem and not Sonos´ problem. I prefer to use my sparetime listening to music, not trouble shooting. I can no longer reccomend Sonos. At all.
New to sonos and bought the Play:3. Want to stream music from a fan website for a specific band. Is this possible?
How can I block someone who is in my house in another room changing the music? Is there another way to do this without changing the passwords on spotify or pandora or my router? Changing the password to the sonos account does nothing. I wish there was a password i could set that was needed every time someone starts sonos from a different device. If you have the sonos app you only have to connect to the existing system and then Im back to square one. I wish I could see a list of active devices on my Sonos system. Then I could block those I don't want playing annoying DJ while a party is going on.
I just recently updated SONOS but have no idea what was updated and what the affect was. I have searched for the info on that and can not seem to locate any info. Where do I get that info?
For MacOS only, looks like. Should cut down on a good bit of the whining here. Good old Apple refused to host it in their App Store, lol. A hole in their walled garden. https://9to5mac.com/2017/12/04/audiobridge-airplay-sonos/
I'm a long-time Sonos user who is very disappointed that Sonos has made my iPad1 (four of them) incompatible with the latest update. I understand not being able to use the latest features, but to make them completely unusable to me is bad policy (in conjunction with Apple). Anyway, I have declined to update to the latest update (I currently have two iPhone 5/6 along with the four iPad1). My question is how do I stop Sonos from nagging me to update? Every few times I go into the app, I get the update message. I thought there was a way to stop those alerts. If so, how? Thanks
Hi, I've seen that you support Audible.com, will you be supporting Audible UK?
Hi! Just set up a new CONNECT to my existing home audio system, installed the app on my Mac, iPad Pro, iPhone X, and am able to play music from the Mac and iPad, but the iPhone X (current iOS) does not want to allow access to the iTunes library on the phone. In the app, I use the 'Browse' button, and select 'On this iPhone', and then am prompted to 'Grant Permission' which takes me the phone's system settings, specifically the SONOS app settings, and all toggle switches are green (on), except 'Cellular Data' is off to conserve data usage. When I switch back to the the SONOS app, there is no change in access to the music library on the iPhone. I've uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, I've synced with my Mac, and still no change. Any thoughts?
I have recently purchased a Kindle Fire 7 - the first of these devices that I've owned. When loading the Sonos software initially, I found it on the Amazon app store, and it worked fine. I didn't know how to lock off updates (which are locked off on all my other devices) so it autoupdated to 8.5. I've changed all the other devices to 8.5, but no matter what I do the update marker still shows on the Kindle Fire version. I've de-installed and re-installed, I've now found out how to stop auto updates on the Kindle, but nothing seems to make any difference - it still shows as an available update. It seems to be running the latest version. I've also enabled the external store option, but it doesn't make any difference. It does get into a logic loop, if I take the update option - if I click update now, then it says that 'sonos app needs updating'. Click update then I get 'continue to the amazon appstore'. Cancel goes back to 'sonos app needs updating'.'Continue' takes me to the appstore, b
Using apple iPad 11.2.6, I installed the sonos app, its asking for an update which takes me to the AppStore which takes me back to the app and so on. App Store not showing any update but app isn’t working without an update.
I want the finest Chrome extension for Sonos known to man. I want it here, and I want it now.
I have a couple of Sonos speakers (actually, two sets, in each of two houses). If someone else comes over and has the Sonos app, he/she will presumably be able to connect to my speakers. Will that person see his or her music? I guess what I'm asking is: is the music list a property of the account, or of the hardware? If it's a property of the account, as I assume it is, where is it stored? (If it's in the cloud, on the Sonos servers, does that mean I can't play music if my external internet is down?)
Hey Ryan - I see a controller update was released for iOS today but the release notes are generic. “Every update delivers upgrades and improvements...” Usually you guys are good about putting details in release notes. Please tell me this isn’t the beginning of Facebook-style release notes. From a user perspective, updates to the controller mean updating the speakers, which is inconvenient (more for some than others). Providing a reason for updating let’s us know the purpose for the inconvenience and probably results in more positive sentiment. Thanks.
It’s installed, but I can find no information on what is in the release. Any ideas?
I have been selling sonos for several years now as a good distributed audio option. But the New UI is so bad Im having second thoughts on new jobs. It took me 15 minutes to figure out how to change rooms without having to select one room in the group and unselect the other. It still takes more clicks through menus to do the same things now. I have had endless calls from clients with the same problems or problems finding their playlists etc. Im actually looking into selling the DTS Play-fi systems instead because of this.
After i installed the latest update i can no longer connect to Sonos. Tried all the steps with no luck.
I have a Sonos Connect and am controlling it with Android 5.0.1 phone. I have yet to get this working for me. The cast icon shows up intermittently and when it does, if selected, pops up a screen that says finding devices and just sits there. I have signed in and out and restarted both Pandora and Sonos with no luck. Any hints what to try to get this working?
Is it possible to reduce the maximum attainable volume, making each increment of movement of the volume slider smaller to allow finer control of the volume?
