The following troubleshooting is for any Mac running OS X. This includes the iMac, Mac Pro, Mac Mini, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. To share with other computers, simply turn on the service you want to use in Sharing preference (in System Preferences), then use the matching client software to connect to your Mac from the other computer. In the case of Sonos, we would want to use Windows File Sharing or SMB. To share your music library with Sonos, we will first need to enable file sharing and Windows File Sharing (SMB). You can do so by following the steps below: Select Apple logo -> System Preferences -> Sharing.Make sure to put a check mark for File Sharing so that it is enabled.Click on File Sharing so it is highlighted and click on Options on the right.Make sure to enable Share Files and Folders using SMB (Windows) in the window that opens up
Can you please let me know when will sonos play be upgraded to support Chromecast? Will such upgrade be applied and supported on already purchased sonos play 1 devices?
I’m getting access is denied on certain albums on my iPad, but others work correctly.
Seems like an easy question. However, I can't clear a song (while on the controller) in the queue because the clear queue tab is grayed out. I think it's Tidal track from one of my kids phone. At the top where the pause, backward and forward buttons are there should be the possibility to add a Stop button and a clear song button. Has anyone ran across this? Thanks Darryl

I originally put down an intermittent failure of the Sonos controller app to connect to my PLAY:1 to wifi issues and (while not happy) just lived with occasionally not being able to play. I have recently moved the PLAY:1 right next to my wifi router and have been working next to it for the last couple of weeks. Generally all good, but occasionally the Sonos controller will report "Sorry, we can't connect to Sonos". I have the app installed on two iphones and both report the same issue. However, if I press the Play button on top of the PLAY:1 the player works just fine (streaming the last radio station I was listening to) - I can pause and restart the stream no problem at all, but bother phones report no connection. Having previously been round the loop of switching off/on wifi, restarting/resetting router, re-installing controllers, physically connecting the PLAY:1 to thr router - all to no avail - the 'no connection' issue just reoccurs randomly, there is clearly something el
Hi there, Loving my new Sonos play1, it works seamlessly with my iPhone, mac etc and means no faffing around. And most importantly, it sounds amazing. The OSX software is good, however it really needs to be updated for retina displays - it is quite badly fuzzy on my MacBook and just takes away from the glossiness the system has... I imagine this is going to be reported more now that the new iMacs are retina as well. Also, just a note that it really needs to access Spotify radio. Playlists are great, but I often list using the former.
I have two systems. One installed at my company, the second just installed at our house. We have adult teenagers and see a need for two things. 1) A password to prevent unauthorized changes to the settings – very important! 2) A volume limiter, so the teenagers do not play too loud – either to disturb neighbors or blow out speakers. Solutions. We already turned down settings on amp (episode) to its lowest level, Still too loud. Any suggestions to enable lockout or lower settings?
Coming from Winamp, I have to say there are a few small things that I find make a big difference in the control of my music. The one I'd like to mention here is "Stop after current" which does exactly what it says. That's a nice feature to have if I'm on my way out or just don't want the rest of the queue to kick in. As an aside, the queue resuming after I've picked a single song to play is actually really nice, IMO, but if I just didn't want it one time and I figure 'oh i'll just clear the queue and this will be the last track' but it stopped my music immediately. I don't really get that, I must say. The thing currently playing isn't IN a queue so why would it be dropped too? Like if you were waiting for a teller at a bank... when you're at the teller you're not also queued up, right?
I am new to the Sonos world and am currently testing out a Sonos Play:1 before deciding whether to fully jump in with their system. If Sonos adds Chromecast support to its speakers such that various Sonos rooms become castable destinations natively from Android apps that are compatible with Chromecast, would this require a hardware or a software update? If it is a software update, I would have hope that this could be added to existing Sonos speakers and then I can go ahead and expand my system. If a hardware update is needed, I may hold off on purchasing speakers until this feature is added. I recognize that Chromecast compatibility has been discussed at length in these forums, but I have not seen an answer to this question yet.
Since the Alexa upgrade it does not appear possible to access the Sonos Support Info (track count etc). If there is a new way to get at this info can you please point me in the right direction? Or, if the info is no longer accessible, can it please be reinstated asap?
Why do I have to go to the Sonos App Store each time I open Sonos????
Title says it. some posts seem to indicate that's how autoplay works (or doesn't). After the signal that triggered autoplay goes away, why doesn't it revert to what it was playing before? maybe with a configurable timeout? This seems like such a big oversight...
I’ve just bought a pair of One’s & am enjoying them as my dining room set up in stereo. I find the sound acceptable for casual listening. I’ve got a classic Nad 3020 amp & monitor audio Rs1’s in the living room. I love the sound of this set up. Is hooking up a connect to these a better option than say buying a Play 5? Sound quality is very important to me but I’m not running audiophile quality equipment. How does the connect sound? Any input appreciated.
I tried to fix this a couple of years ago but was never successful. I've tried all the suggestions I see on line. Please advise how to overcome this irritating problem!
I messaged Sonos like a year and those ******** never got back to me they need to let their costumers they need to let their costumers lost their stations alphabetically to make it easier to find stations
I love your product but hate that I can't airplay my Mac to it. Now I have to have a second set of speakers in my office
Hi all, I am a new owner of a SONOS system and was disappointed to learn that it is not possible to use the music library as a source for alarms. It appears to be restricted to music services and playlists. If you want to play an album for an alarm, you need to create a playlist from it first. This seems unnecessarily limiting, so I am requesting a feature update for the next release to enable the library to be used as a source in the alarm as well. Please share / comment to promote this (this is what the tech support suggested I do when I asked them about it) Marc
I have just received my 2 envelopes and labels for my 2 CR100s. Do you want the cradles and power supplies as well, or just the controllers ? The labels are for DHL. Will you be arranging a pickup, or do I do that ?
SONOS PLEASE CREATE an App, Software or Tool that Operates like "TRUPLAY" for Android or Windows Devices First, before I begin my discussion, I want to let all the people working at Sonos know your Customer Support is Excellent and the Products are Stunning with Breathtaking Sound Quality!! I LOVE MY SONOS SPEAKERS! *(Owner of Play:5 & Two Play:3's and Also, Adding Sonos Sub & Two Play:1's this weekend) NOW, I agree with most of the customer comments about NOT HAVING TRUPLAY OR AN EQUIVALENT AVAILABLE FOR ANDROID USERS. I don't understand the company's explanation/reason why they're unable to create a similar Truplay App for Android? Every Sonos Response on this subject, echoes similar answers; Which, discusse a microphone issue as the main obstacle? Android and/or Windows PC's have Excellent Microphones! Almost 100% of ALL Apps or Software can be used on either Apple iOS or Android Devices. The company's inability to make this small gesture a Top Priority for ALL S
Hi Sonos, love the speakers love the sound love the design, great great product, but you need to get your UI/UX folks in a room and seriously take a look at the iOS app experience, it is very poor, the cognitive dissonance, just the sheer difficulty in achieving any simple task. On any screen there are multiple touch points that slide screens in and out , up and down with little or no intuitive reasoning. Please take a step back, take a look, then redesign from the ground up.
How do I delete duplicate imported playlists?
Is there any way to add a picture to an album or station that is missing the pictures? I have some that I have manually uploaded to amazon music that are missing the album art and I'd like to add it. Same with the pandora stations.
Is the Windows desktop software going the (tragic) way of the mobile app? Or does the latest upgrade leave the UI alone? I can't stand the new app, and have postponed updating my Windows Controller to avoid further annoyance.
Hey there, I followed the thread on a post similar to this but am still unable to play Audiobooks using the Sonos App controller. iBooks doesn't show up in 'Genre' under 'On this iPhone'. Wondering if you can help?
