Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

How do you turn the Sonos app off on an android phone? I used to be able to select "leave the sonos controller." Now the thing stays on and I cannot see how to end it. Very annoying.
I saw this posted in another topic and rather than confuse things there thought I'd ask in a new topic. https://en.community.sonos.com/wireless-speakers-228992/flac-vs-mp3-bandwidth-limitation-6803936/index1.html#post16214383 When Sonos is working through SonosNet, the data flow works as follows: Router -> BRIDGE )) Group Coordinator )) Rest of Group The Group Coordinator is the room that you group all the other rooms to. This player acts as the chief player that will sync the data and then send it to every speaker in the group. In most cases, you want the Group Coordinator to be wired. This reduces the amount of interference that Sonos will have to combat before getting the data to the rest of the Sonos group. I wasn't able to find much on this Group Coordinator topic searching support but it raises an interesting questions for my setup. Since I have a Boost and several Plays (of various types) and two Zone Players all wired with the remaining units wireless would
Recently downloaded to iPhone app. Everything seems to work well except I have no control over volume. I have checked this when the app is both in the foreground and background and have tried the hardware side switched and the Control Center controls. The switch is set to on for hardware control. I also do not see the lock screen controls and the switch is also on for that to show; therefore, can't control volume from there either. The Windows 10 web page works properly; there are no Sonos system configurations issues
I can't find any documentation on the "Detect New Session" feature. How does it work?
Are there any plans to to do more integration between sonos and hue? Or perhaps I should change that question to "Can there be more integration between sonos and hue please?". I'm not after the "alexa, please set my lights to XYZ" stuff. I'm after simple, disco mode! Currently I can play music, but with the Ipad "listening" with the Hue Party app running and that makes my hue lights dance. It would be great to combine the two. Play music on Sonos and it makes the lights dance to the beat. Gut feeling is that Sonos customers probably are the types who are also into their home automation and therefore integration with automated lighting systems would be a cool feature - even if you had to pay for it.
I honestly cannot believe this doesn't exist. I understand that comments about the feasibility of adding features to software without any knowledge of the codebase are typically misguided, but come on, this is just an ordering a list based on random numbers. It's a very basic feature of every digital music player I've ever owned dating back over a decade. The fact that Sonos doesn't have it is a travesty and makes an otherwise A+++ system significantly less useful. I have to expend entirely too much thought/energy to work around this when I should just be able to add to queue, set album shuffle, and not worry about hearing everything in the same order or having songs nonsensically cut apart from each other. Just add it.
Does anyone know how to use the VLC Media Player with Sonos? The player apparently can act as a streaming server but how? Any ideas would be welcome
I use MacBook Pro and it’s Sonos desktop App that is quite limited compared with mobile app. I cannot search to stream podcasts for example, please Sonos improve! Thank you
The installer runs fine then when I go to open the Sonos desktop controller on my PC it come up with 3 error messages as follows: "To run this application, you first must install one of the following versions of the .NET Framework: v4.0.30319 Contact your application publisher for instructions about obtaining the appropriate version of .NET Framework" I click OK, the same message appears then I get a further message saying "Unable to load pcdcr.dll. Please re-install". I have tried a full re-install but get the same message. I am running Vista SP1. Help!
Is it coming or should I throw my speaker out the window?
When browsing (Spotify) albums & songs, it is common to see the same album/song listed twice. This is most often because one version is explicit and the other is clean. Unfortunately there is not usually an indication to let you know which is which. *Sometimes* the album art will have the "explicit" label on it (albeit tiny), but not usually. If it's helpful, I always want to play the explicit version. I find it extremely annoying to play an album only to get 2 minutes into a song and realize things are bleeped/altered. Would love for someone to tell me there's already a way to see the difference, but I can't find one.
I would like to issue my feedback: Oh my gosh the new app, sonos website + forum are very complex! I could easily list a number of fundamental user interface rules that are broken, and many interfaces that are just so complex that it beggars belief. Many folks that I know personally who have purchased on my sonos recommendation are similarly expressing their frustrations with such a massive UI change, to make matters worse, without warning. "The gift card code or gift card PIN you entered is invalid. Please double check the number and try again." So first you bribe me to kill off euthanize and landfill my beloved CR100, and then it turns out that the bribe was ZERO? Really? Why are you giving out invalid codes? I see no terms and conditions restricting me from using the code to buy a single speaker. The only terms and conditions I've copied below. It has no minimum total limit, just a date and no other promotions. Yes, I'm miffed about this whole thing. It's nonsense. You want me to spend money, so you give me a "code" only it doesn't work. Are you thinking that I'm going to spend the full amount? What more games are you playing? This is like the whole tin-foil hat "your batteries are going to spontaneously combust" nonsense. ********************************************** Thanks for recycling. We know the CR100 controller has been a long-valued piece of your Sonos system, and we appreciate you
Hello, today I bought Sonos Play:1. It's really perfect but I have a question. Using Spotify Premium and I want to control volume up / volume down via Apple Keyboard. And another question: is there any way to listen sound from YouTube (Safari) too? Any way to do that? Thank you.
I understand how to control the volume from my computer (MacBook Air) using the Sonos Control App. But how do I control the volume in different rooms by using the mobile App. When rooms are grouped and I use the App on my iPhone, using the phone's volume control moves the volume in each room up and down equally. Is there a method to change the volume in selected rooms that are grouped like I can do on my computer?
I currently own an EA3 controller from C4 and the Sonos Connect, as well as the playbar and play 1 for two separate zones. The C4 does my 5.1 living room, and a zone in the patio, and one in the master bath run on a Pioneer Elite SC 91 AVR. All of these are hardwired and can currently be grouped together. The Playbar and Play 1 can be grouped together themselves, but not in tandem with the other three zones mentioned above. I am trying to connect all 5 zones that they can play the same source (ie Pandora) at the same time as we move through different zones of the house. Currently they can all do separate instances of Pandora and other digital music. I purchased the Sonos Connect in hopes it would hold hands with the C4 to bridge this gap. I am not sure whether the C4 should go to an input on the Sonos Connect or if the SC should be an input onto the C4. The Playbar and Play 1 are connected as a zone in C4 via IP addresses currently. I suppose there is a possibility the SC ca
I have a pair of Sonos Play 5's in stereo pair. They sound really good. However, i noticed there is a concert hall echo like effect on them in the signature of the sound. I kind of like that effect to be less... especially for the vocals. With the stereo pair in horizontal position, the effect is the strongest. I like the sound stage in horizontal position a lot, but the concert hall echo is strongest in this mode. With the stereo pair in vertical position, the effect is still there but far less. But the sound stage is not as enjoyable in vertical position. I have a pair of Play 3s in stereo also, and I do not have this concert hall like sound signature. They also sound great, btw. Can I do anything about that concert hall sound effect on the Play 5s? Or any setting I am missing? Anyone else notice this effect or is it just me?
Any Sonos coders/ app developers on this community?
Dear Ryan S, In the Sonos announcement, CR100 owners were offered two options:- 1 - Stop using the CR100 or 2 - Stay with the current 8.4 OS and "freeze" all future OS updates. Can you provide detailed step by step instructions on how users can take up option 2? Many thanks TJRL 7x CR100, 2x CR200, 1x ZP80, 7x ZP100, 1x iPod Dock, 1x Boost, 4x Play 1, 3x Play 3, 2x Play 5, 1x PlayBar & 1x Sub.
Does anyone know how or if we can return to an earlier version of the controller app? This is an older kindle but still works and it's the most convenient way for me to use my Sonos. Worked fine until Friday.
shuffle missing after update?
Yes it would be great if Sonos developed a Apple Watch app! WE invest in the sonos product and should have the best up to date compatibility with our devices! Come on sonos don't let us down!
SONOS is a great system but I can't believe they has not developed an App to Apple Watch. I would like SONOS listen all people are happy with their products but demand more from them. In this case, an App to control the system from the iWatch. Please leave your comment and add you to this request
Hi! We have recently got a Sonos system in our office. When someone plays a track via Spotify that I like, I have been hitting 'Save to Your Music' in the controller UI. I now want to go back and play some of them, but I can't work out where they are actually saved. I'm using a Mac. Thanks!
Does it matter what speaker I group on? I've got 5 zones and a connect, which is plugged into the router. Very often, I want to play the same thing on all speakers, so when I group I use the same speaker as the one I group on. But I also know that the interference around some of my speakers is greater than others. I've reduced my dropouts significantly but would like to eliminate them completely. So should I be more discerning about the lead speaker?
