Following installation of a new Sky hub I am unable to connect to my Sonos system on my HP Desktop computer (Windows 10); however, I am able to connect to Sonos using my Android phone and tablets (both use the S1 app). When I start the S1 Controller App on the laptop it opens with:In the “More Options” section I tried “Connect to Existing Sonos System” and However, when I try to open the Sonos app again I get the same message as shown in the first screenshot (above).I have just installed a new hub and updated new Wifi name and password on all my devices. My system is: 1 x BRIDGE (Version 11.2.2 2 x PLAY 1 (Version 11.2.2) 1 x PLAYBAR (Version 11.2.2) I have tried all the remedies in the website troubleshooting guide, i.e. unplug and restart router, etc. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Sonos1 app on desktop; and made sure VPN is turned off.Thank you.>
Hello, the above mentioned error message appears each time I try to add speakers to a group - I am using S2 app. The other devices are shown but I cannot connect. My Sonos experience is limited to playing on the devices connect via cable to my LAN. The devices relying on wireless connection are shown but do not connect. My old play 5 which was incompatible works perfectly using the S1 app. This inability to add devices was not apparent the first time I updated. Help.
HiCan someone point me in the direction for the release notes of firmwares for the Sonos ARC.I can find a sonos page with software release notes but nothing on recent firmwares.I find it bizarre that they release updates and don’t seem to tell us what these updates fix/add. Could not find notes on 12.0.4 and recent 12.0.5 firmware. Do Sonos keep these things secret?
Hi learned Sonos Community since the change to Sonos s1 whilst playing radio via Sonos thro tunein I keep getting the same ad appearing, never happened before any one else had same issue thanks Al
I have been a SONOS customer for the past 6 years almos. I was very happy...A month ago, I moved from Windows to Linux on my desktop PC, I tried Wine under Linux and removed it.I am using currently NOSON as a replacement desktop controller under Linux, but - I have a lot of music stored locally and can’t find a way to play that, as I used to during my Windows time…Any suggestions?ThanksAlex
I am happy with my s1 controller. My system works fine and integrates well with Alexa. Having read the multiple negative reviews of S2, I merely want to hold off at least in upgrading to it. But the problem is that when I open my Sonos s1 app, I cannot access any of its features because there is an upgrade screen that I cannot get past. Why on earth would Sonos not at least allow people to keep the s-1 application functional? How can I get past the upgrade screen? Under the "other options' menu there is only "reset" and I'm afraid to try that lest It screw up my existing s1 application.
I’ve been a Sonos owner for since 2015. I have 15 Sonos devices in my Sonos system consisting of Play:1, Play:3, Connect, Sub, Playbar. The system worked beautifully. I always bragged about my awesome Sonos system. Then I "upgraded" to Sonos S2. What a mistake. My awesome Sonos system has been rendered almost unusable. I don’t really want to spend hours troubleshooting a system that worked perfectly before I upgraded. How can I downgrade back to Sonos S1 if I have upgraded all my devices? Thanks for the help.
Garbage Garbage Garbage
Hi!I noticed that when Sonos speaker plays music via Spotify Connect and Sleep Timer is set up, when it’s time to sleep, speaker just decrease volume to zero but does not pause music. So music from Spotify continue playing with zero volume. I think this is kind of bug and if Spotify will play hours without any interruptions it will influence to my Spotify recommendations.
My company has implemented a management profile to require AirPlay Codes when connecting via AirPlay. I’ve seen other post which recommend turning that requirement off but it’s not possible for my situation (I’m guessing others have the same requirement). My question is: why can’t the SONOS MOVE (or other SONOS devices) speak the code so we can enter it and not have this issue? Is this a development request? If not, how can we recommend it? Thank you
First-timer here and new to the Sonos community and ecosystem. I’ve recently populated the house with 5 x Sonos Fives + an Arc + Sub Gen 2. All lovely sound so far, but I have a slight issue playing music from a separate Astell & Kern (A&K) SP1000m portable music player. The A&K player has the ability to play music files to any other network-connected speakers, and all my music files stored on the player are recognized by the Sonos app. I can play the music files through the Sonos Fives, but the problem is that selecting “Next Track” on the music playing screen on the app does not play the next track(!). It’s very puzzling. I can pause, go back to the start of the track, or go back to the previous track. I can even “fast-forward” within the track, but for some reason, the app does not allow the next track to be played, which is disappointing, because I cannot then select the next track on a separate remote control device (iPort Xpress Audio Keypad), and it’s a bit clunky to
I have not been able to find any info here that shows me how I can save a playlist to my PC, I have to uninstall sonos as I believe the download was corrupted. When I migrated my music folders to sonos, it appeared as though not all the music came over, so I want to do a clean uninstall and reinstall a new download, but I would like to be able to save my playlist to my PC if this is possible, any advice would be welcome.
I’ve lost my remote. How and where do I purchase a new one? Thanks. Also, I purchased my playbar in Dec.2019. Do I need Sonos S2 or do I stay with S1.
Hello. The Murfie website says they have ceased operations. As of today, my collection is still streaming but I cannot reach anyone there. I have about 600 discs uploaded as FLAC files there and am very concerned to be able to retrieve those in tact. Anyone else use Murfie or any suggestions? Thank you, Bigdog39
I upgraded my iOS and macOS clients to S2, which then upgraded my Play 1, Play 3, Play 5 (Gen 2) and Beam. Now, I can no longer play music on more than one Sonos device. When I attempt to, I get the “cannot connect to device. Try again later.” Error message. This was clearly an S2 upgrade related problem. Help!
Hi, we have a Sonos Play 3 in my daughters bedroom which we use to help her sleep playing lullabies etc, however we have been told about Moshi Sleep app. it does not play via Sonos but can via airplay it seems. However none of my equipment is that recent to allow it. If I were to upgrade to a newer component or speaker would this then work through airplay does anyone know. Ideally throughout our Sonos system? thanks in advance. john
Hi. I’m not clear whether Sonos 2 high resolution quality software will be available to Play 5 (2nd gen) and play are. I know both these speakers are compatible with new Sonos 2 but it hasn’t been explained to my knowledge if high resolution will only be possible on the newer speakers. In short, will I have to upgrade my speakers to the brand new version of play 5 and playbar to avail of the full value of the new Sonos software? Thanks
My S1 system will no longer connect to my Windows 10 laptop, but does continue to connect to my Windows 10 desktop and Samsung S8+ (Android) phone. Can you help me get the laptop reconnected?
Like many other Tidal hifi subscribers, I was super excited to learn about S2’s support of CD quality streaming, and was hoping to build a whole-house system around it (currently just have a One for a bedroom). However, being able to actually find the music you want to listen to is paramount to enjoying the app, and in this respect Sonos integration with Tidal has gone backwards from what was already a rather lackluster effort (and the reason I’ve not invested in a full Sonos system). Not only is there no way to do simple things like changing the sort order of my Tidal favorite albums to “by artist” (something that has been requested going back YEARS), but now the app now doesn’t even include the the name of the artist in the list! Are we supposed to memorize what album goes to an artist, in a list sorted arbitrarily shuffled by date added? I’m sure the canned “its entirely dictated by Tidal API” yada yada response will be forthcoming, but that is not acceptable. Other services
will a beam + gen 1 connect amp and a sub still work together as a 5.1 after the changes in may? i can’t tell based off the article if it’s just grouping the speakers that won’t work or if using a connect amp as surrounds with a beam or playbar won’t work as well.
Since Google Play Music is going away, I want to suggest that Google Podcasts be made available to Sonos so I can continue to listen to my podcasts easily. Google say that the new YouTube Music replacement for Google Play will not have podcast capability. Thanks
Ive just updated to the new S2 app and wanted to share some of my thoughts and hope to hear other peoples opinions since updating. Positives: Sound quality seems to of improved following the update, I’ve tested home cinema and music and there seems to be an improvement in clarity, seems richer. I don’t know if this is my ears playing tricks on me but I’m as happy as ever with the excellent sound quality. App opening, search and general usability/navigation seems faster. Room groups is a good feature and welcomed although I would love to see this working with Alexa so I can summon a group change via voice! Is this coming? Not so Positives: The update process is very cumbersome and should be completely automated, instead your community is left faffing about trying to work out what order to update things. I was stuck being told my system wasn’t compatible for s2 for some time with no clear instruction of what to do to update! All the hype and the chance to reinvent the UI and
I have a ZP100. I was able to control from my iPhone and Android devices using the S1 app. Those devices no longer work and the S1 App doesn't let me "Connect to an existing system". In fact, the buttons that are illustrated in the app do not match those of the ZP100, but I have completed updates in the past that required holding in the correct sequence and I attempted that sequence with no luck. When I Iog into the Sonos site, my device is connected. So I downloaded the Windows app and I am able to connect and play as normal. Up until a few days ago, I was also able to play using the Android device and a week ago the IOS device. Now I am limited to just the windows app. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I’m working from home during the Covid season. Wondering Sonos speaker (w/ microphone) can be used to pair with my PC via bluetooth and support Microsoft Teams meeting? I saw Sonos Move has microphone associated with it. Anyone ever used the speaker that way? Thanks much.
So I just had the update to the app yesterday but now get the message “unable to connect to Sonos”, I know this is not correct as removed the speakers and was able to re apply them to the app but then they were unable to connect again. Speaker and phone on same wifi, speaker work with good assistant so clearly have wifi but the app after the update doesn't work. Have tried both the S! and S2 app as well. Clearly seems to be a app issue or a server issue but no information seems to be available online? Speakers are Sonos One.
