Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

Very basic question regarding the volume slider values if I may please?0 up to 15 I do understand, however 0 down to -15, what does that mean in the Controller?
Quiero utilizar el altavoz FIVE directamente conectado a un PC por el cable de línea. ¿Cómo puedo quitar del sistema SONOS el altavoz FIVE para que no aparezca en las APPs?
Hi everyone, just wanted to share a quick video of my Sonos app running on Xbox. Its had a major update to make it quick and simple to use with an Xbox controller, and with the Xbox Media Remote. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJ__zshIwcs (there is no audio).
maybe I just do not have the patience to browse through all the chats here, but I did a bit and I did not come across anyone (to my bewilderment) mentioning the fact that there is no way to switch between bluetooth and wifi remotely. One always has to press the connectivity button at the back of the device. IS THERE ANY WAY TO DO THIS FROM YOUR PHONE?
Please, I have a system that I share with my family including children. I have some older android tablets do not support S2, and if one of my kids clicks ‘upgrade to S2’, those devices will no longer work. As others have asked, let me permanently turn off the prompt to check S2 compatibility.
Hi -- I have an S1 Sonos Connect that is connected to my Atmos compatible AV receiver. Tidal has Atmos music but when I stream Tidal through the Sonos app, it doesn’t come through my sound system in Atmos. Anything I can do?
I just joined the free trial of Sonos Radio HD, and I have a question. How can I listen to any of the exclusive Sonos Radio HD stations, like “Radio Chemical”, in my car via Apple CarPlay? If that is not possible, is there any other way like Bluetooth or AUX cable? Thanks!
I thought I would post this because I finally managed to do something I have been wanting to do for three years. i'm not taking any credit because I managed to find all the information on the forum but not in one place.I wanted to convert my playlists on Sonos which were pointed at Napster to Apple Music playlists. this also works for other services although there is another step to get to Amazon Music. This is for iOS but I am sure there is something similar for android.Step 1: download an app called Phonos Plus. This will allow you to dump your track names from each playlist into a file readable by the web app below.Go to Soundliz.com. This will allow you to import your file and import it to Apple Music, Napster, Spotify etc. I'm not giving detailed instructions because both steps are fairly easy when you look around the apps. you may lose a track or two on the way but you can see what they are and replace them directly. probably takes five minutes per playlist.
I have a daily alarm set to play TuneIn BBC Radio 4 on my sonos system. Recently I got the warning on there that TuneIn is stopping the BBC programmes on 21st March 2021. So I changed my alarm to use Sonos BBC radio 4 channel. However it continued to play the tuneIn one. As a check, I changed it to Sonos Radio 3 for this morning. It didn’t play. I saw it showed it as playing though. Also it was showing up as an HD station.Anyway I’m concerned that after 21st March I won’t be able to set an alarm to play BBC radio 4. And will I need to pay a subscription to access Radio 3 as it’s showing as HD?I live in the UK. Access to these stations is an important part of my daily listening and how I use SONOS. It’s a bit of a deal breaker for my use of SONOS in future. I am on SONOS 2 although my devices are mainly older, I do expect them to last longer!
Will Sonos give me funding to buy either a Mac or windows pc as the no longer support Chromebook or will they like me to move to another sound system?'
Hi, I’m glad to see the other formats have been added to the app now, so you don’t have to go into about my system to check you are getting the correct method. However, is there anyway you can change Dolby Atmos so it actually shows Dolby Atmos - True HD and Dolby Atmos - DD+. Would be nice to separate them out as well, seeing as you have now added the rest.
So, I can’t find any info, if I’m just ignorant, please excuse the next tirade! We have, for some time, had issues with Spotify playback being stopped randomly, at home and out and about.I think the culprit is the Sonos system at home.We have Spotify Family w all accounts added to the Sonos system, but! I can’t find a way tp prevent any user (or, since all use the same account, there is essentially only one user on one Sonos system) to choose the “wrong” spotify profile.I must say I find it pretty lame that there is no “Family” mode in Sonos, like Spotify has.I want each family member to have a different login, and me, as admin, assign who can play where.Yes, I know that we can have different wlans but it seems quite a silly workaround.Cheers/B
Hey hey, Apologies if this has been asked already.. I have a system running on S1. Listening to BBC radio stations at the moment and I get a message saying that it won’t work from the twenty something of March..I can’t upgrade to S2 because of legacy devices.. do I have any option to keep listening to BBC radio stations after this date? thanks so much!
Let us be clear “Microsoft publicly deprecated the SMBv1 protocol in 2014.”So why is SONOS insisting that to connect to a NAS server it needs SMB1It is almost as if the dev team and managers at SONOS think that their continued use of an insecure and non standard protocol does not matter. The evidences are here :https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/storage/file-server/troubleshoot/smbv1-not-installed-by-default-in-windowshttps://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=AwrJ7Fil6E1gCHMA_atXNyoA;_ylu=Y29sbwNiZjEEcG9zAzQEdnRpZAMEc2VjA3Ny/RV=2/RE=1615747365/RO=10/RU=https%3a%2f%2fbarreto.home.blog%2f2015%2f04%2f21%2fthe-deprecation-of-smb1-you-should-be-planning-to-get-rid-of-this-old-smb-dialect%2f/RK=2/RS=AxALiGz6671Rq4A2dEl0G2pN_4c- https://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=AwrJ7Fil6E1gCHMAA6xXNyoA;_ylu=Y29sbwNiZjEEcG9zAzcEdnRpZAMEc2VjA3Ny/RV=2/RE=1615747365/RO=10/RU=https%3a%2f%2ftechcommunity.microsoft.com%2ft5%2fstorage-at-microsoft%2fstop-using-smb1%2fba-p%2f425858/RK=2/RS=wZ94022lsGeSZaTUiGJBq5
Why for the love of god are you still require users to use SMBv1 voor NAS Support? This is unacceptable from a security standpoint and your responsability as a company towards your end users. Closing topics like below one is not a solution to your flaud implementation for NAS/Samba support. https://en.community.sonos.com/setting-up-sonos-228990/sonos-support-for-smb-2-0-protocol-6739642/index9.html What is Sonos gonna do to properly support NAS/Samba.
Whats the Eta for SMB v2 and 3 ?This is why I was worried of spending this kind of money on 1 vender. Vender lock in, and apparently security is irelevant.I waited years to buy sonos, because I knew stuff like this would happen with vendor lock in….I just want ot map a Network share from a NAS. Its not magic….
Hello community, while not meant as rant, I need to voice my disappointment.Sonos requires SMBv1 since a long time now, to be able to use shared music “folders” on a local network. Requests to update are voiced from the community since years now (just search the forum for SMBv1 and error 900).SMBv1 is considered not secure anymore, and one will hardly find any software that still requires that old protocol version - save Sonos.I mitigated the issue for some time now, by isolating the network share (and the related data) into a dedicated hardware, to not expose more important files on a common file server to potential risks. No longer. This ends my journey with Sonos - as they left me with the impression, that the security of my home environment is of no interest to them. It’s sad, as I liked their product…Greetings… and good bye!
Is there a way to copy sonos playlist from S1 setup to S2? I am running a dual setup in my house and I have playlists from S1 that I would like to bring over to S2.
For as long as I’ve been using Sonos, I’ve never been able to shuffle songs on Apple Music. It’s really frustrating. Not sure if it’s an Apple issue or a Sonos issue or both. Please fix this. :) I’d be so happy.
Is there anyway to play Apple Music from the Apple Music app to my SONOS group as is possible with Tidal? What I think I know is that Air Play is available to SONOS ONE but not when they are linked up in my group?Any advice on how to do it or for work arounds would be gratefully received.
I’m annoyed EXTREMELY with the Sonos insistence that I use the mobile app to add products etc. I don’t have any password info on my mobile - they’re ALL on my laptop. So even time I have to reset something and then add back an existing product I have to find my Sonos password and enter it manually (it’s automatic on the laptop). It is annoying in the extreme.Rant over (for now).Fortunately I’m a customer for more than 10 years, so I’m not giving up the benefits of Sonos over this. A newer one might not be so forgiving.
I can see that this has been requested in the past but then the posts seem to die a death with no sign of the feature being implemented in the app so...again...why can't we set an alarm to play on a specific group of speakers rather than only having the option to "include grouped rooms"? Use case: I have speakers in a bedroom, kitchen and living room. In the evening I often want to listen to music in the kitchen or bedroom while someone is watching TV in the living room so I ungroup my speakers. In the morning I want my alarm to play a radio station or play list on all speakers throughout the house. As it stands, unless I remember to re-group my speakers before going to sleep for the night the alarm will only play in the bedroom. Why can't I have a set of ticket boxes to select exactly what speakers to play the alarm on? The only possible reason to not have this feature that I can think of is that it could cause confusion or frustration if an alarm interrupts a speaker that is alread
I upgraded to the Sonos S2 app on my Mac awhile ago and notice that the Sonos S1 Controller is still in my Applications folder. Will dragging the S1 app to my Trash completely remove it or are there additional steps to make sure any related files are removed from my system?
Hi there, since the Mac mini has no optical out I was wondering if someone can guide me what usb dac or other converter should I buy in order to get the best out of my Mac mini. Want to use the playbar with a 5.1 setup in my home office. (Mac to playbar+Sub+2play1) thanks for your tips!
Just a friendly reminder to Sonos to work on getting compatibility with Google Podcasts
