Hello, for the past month, my Sonos doesn’t respond as it used to. I am unable to instantly control the volume or change a music track or radio station. I have 2 x Play3s and 1 x Pkay 1Any ideas ?ThanksSonal
It is really unbelievable that Sonos dares to force customers who bought products for thousands of euros to share location when one needs to add Sonos to a new WiFi router. I have bought the products when the terms were not as such, I find this disgusting. For me this is a reason to sell the products and look for alternatives.Customers should not accept suppliers become big brothers, or data gathering companies. Ok, when the product is cheap or for free, then it is understandable. But not for expensive products like Sonos.
I would like to have the info popup’s disappear quicker as they sit there for a good 5 seconds and you can't change the volume while they are active. Has anyone else experienced this? I was thinking they are no longer required after you have experienced Turning them on and off a few times. We all know what the buttons do after the first time using it and not being able to turn down the volume for what seems like ages while it blasts through the house is a total PITA. Maybe SONOS can put this in a future update of the app? Cheers 🍻
I have four Sonos One SL speakers (2 in the living room and 2 in the bedroom) and wish to add one more, but I have a question and a problem.First, my problem: With the exception of Spotify (and perhaps 1-2 other apps I don’t use), in order to listen to anything on my speakers, it HAS to be accessed through the Sonos app itself (meaning you can’t just open your app and have it connect to the speakers) AND be on the Sonos app’s limited list of available apps. So you can’t use your speakers to listen to anything. Aside from the obvious inconvenience and significant restriction this places on your use of the speakers, there are other problems with this. An example: I have an app called Calm that offers nature sounds, meditations, soothing music, etc. I use it primarily as white noise because some of its nature sounds do a great job masking the noise from my upstairs neighbor. It won’t connect directly to my Sonos speakers, but luckily, it is available through the Sonos app. Great, you say.
I’ve been successfully using the S1 app for a couple of years to control my Play:5 but after adding a Play:3 I want both me and my wife to be able to control the speakers. My wife downloaded the S1 app and can use it fine but ever since she did I keep getting a message in my S1 app that it can’t connect to Sonos and no speakers are visible. It clears when she moves out of wifi range then i can control the speakers again.I always understood two people could have the S1 app in the same household and control the same speakers. Is this not the case? This is a showstopper for us if we can’t get it to work for both of us.Thanks
I have seen many threads on backing up your Sonos playlist. One guy indicated why would Sonos want to provide this feature. For one it has been asked for a million times and I would think that Sonos buyers would want to have the capability. Only thing I can think of is that there is some interest and financial benefit to Sonos to not provide that feature. Seems simple enough. I am building a playlist (2000+ songs) on one Sonos device at home. I would very much like to export that playlist and import to another Sonos device at a vacation home.
I can’t control my Sonos system volume from my Galaxy 3 watch. Has anyone figured this out? I can control the Sonos Pause and Skip functions from my watch. I have the Sonos S2 app on my Samsung Note 9 phone. To enable Sonos control on my watch, I followed these instructions: On the phone, open Sonos App Settings > App Preferences and turn on “Show Notifications,” “Show Lock Screen Controls,” “Control From Other Devices,” and “Home Screen Volume Control.” This worked, and the music app on my watch now has a Sonos option. It shows the title of the current song playing and the Pause and Skip functions work. The volume control is changing the Media volume on my phone, which would normally work, but on my phone there is a new slider labeled Sonos in my volume control. Its icon is a little box with the wireless lines in the corner, similar to the “Cast” icon in Chrome and YouTube for casting the display to a TV. Adjusting the Media volume slider on my phone (or from the watch) doesn’t cha
i realize that most of the community has moved on from the Sonos Controllers. I still have two and regardless of the fact that they are slow, I still like them.I have two ZP100’s and a ZP80 and I’ve often wanted to add another amp to my existing system without upgrading to S1.My system is on what I believe is the last firmware that supports the CR100 and that is 8.4. When I go to the Admin Panel, or whatever it is called, I can see the software version listed as 41.3-50131 which appears to match the build number listed in the screen capture above. There is a ton of gear on Fleabay and many of the items are ridiculously inexpensive. I’d like to try and find something that is on the same Firmware version as my system. So, here’s my question…...if i find a unit that is on the same Firmware version as my system, will it be pretty straight forward to add it? Thank you.
I have the Sonos app on my iPhone & iPad Pro. Last night when I went to use my App on my iPhone I get a blank screen on all screens. And on top it say Unable to connect to Sonos: Learn more. But I am still able to use the Sonos App on my iPad to control my music. Both are on the same wifi network. I can check in Settings > About My System and all my Sonos looks to be reading fine. The WM is 0 except for Move > 1. I have sent a diagnostic check. And I wanted to ask here before I try the several steps in the app for troubleshooting. So why is the app working fine on my iPad and not working on my iPhone?
Hi why is it not possible to control the volume on my Sonos devices using my Galaxy watch 46mm? I can change tracks and see the artwork for the track playing. When I adjust the volume via my watch it has no effect on Sonos.I have set the Sonos app volume control to control via other devices but still no joy. Adjusting the volume on my watch only changes the media volume on my Samsung S7 edge. Is there a setting I need to change somewhere?
The Android S1 controller app just updated. There is a new notification at the top of the screen saying “It's time to update to Sonos S2. You can schedule an automatic update or do it now. More information”. The notification is large, taking up about 10% of my phone's screen. There is no option to close this notification, unlike previous similar ones. I have decided I want to retain the S1 app and not update to S2. I only use Sonos to play local files from my NAS and have zero interest in any additional features. I previously understood that this is fine; the FAQ regarding the controller says that customers can continue to use the S1 Controller app if they so choose. I've been through all the app menus I can find, but cannot see a way to disable this notification. Does anyone know if there is an option to do this somewhere? Changing the app’s Android notification permissions doesn’t address this problem. Ideally I could permanently disable these notifications: I'm aware of S2 but don't
Can Sonos be steered over Apple Watch ?
Attempting to add WRCH FM 100.5 to SONOS & Favorites on a S1 Controller, not successful, using Manage: Add Radio Station https://www.audacy.com/wrchhttps://www.radio.net/s/wrchAudacy, formerly Entercom, Not Listed in “ Add Music Services “Other stations listed with Audacy work OK,such as 1080 WTIC, but favorites show station as Radio.com StationNext step is ?
Anyone have any idea if Sonos will soon support Audacy.com streaming radio stations? My local station left radio.com for Audacy and now we cannot listen to it. Thanks!
Can Sonos add Scribd audiobooks to their services? Would love to listen to via Sonos instead of AirPlay, which does play on all 5 speakers, but drains my phone's battery. I listen to Audible all the time on Sonos & am grateful for that link-up. Now, Scribd would be amazing. Thanks!
Seems that there is no way to use the alarm on files on my hard drive, or a way to upload my files to Amazon or Apple Music.Let me know what I am missing.
Just picked up a WD MYclloud Home NAS. I loaded my music on the WD My cloud. When I went to play the songs from the Sonos 1 controller, I noticed that there a lot of songs that were not properly categorized by Artist and Album. It lists the tracks as unknown artist and album. It seems like the metadata is missing. My music files were moved from my iTunes folder where it is saved by Artist/Album/Song title. The folder/files on the NAS look exactly like they do in the iTunes folder. It looks like it is happening with all my iTunes files that are MPEG audio files. I am using the S1 controller. Any one experience this and have a solution? Thanks!
Is there any chance that the Saxo app could be compatible with the Sonos player? We listen to books through that app.BW Heidi
Hi, I have a SONOS amp with 4 Monitor Audio C165 speakers connected. Prior to getting this setup in February 2021 I used Spotify premium, however I realised that Tidal appeared to offer consistently higher quality audio and even master files of some songs. In my naivety I signed up for their highest package thinking it would give me the best quality(not considering whether human ears can pick up on the differences between the higher quality files). Since researching the subject this last week, it seems clear that SONOS cannot reproduce the rates required for the master files. In short, my question to more experienced SONOS users and technophiles, is what streaming service is most suitable for wireless playback through the SONOS app?
Hello, May, last month, you informed us that there would be no more update for the old equipment on sonos1.I could live with that because everything was functional at home. And now you are pushing a final update that prevents most of the adjustments on my system.I can’t even change the sonosnet channel. I have computers, android phone on version 7, tablet on version 7, android boxes on version 7.You said the truth, there will be no more update, only a downgrade. What’s the reason behind all this?
Sonos S1 on iOS 14.4. Sonos S1 app has a persistent “It’s time tp update to Sonos S2” message that doesn’t go away. How do I clear this message?
Does the Sonos system honour the ‘Album Artist’ tag? I suspect not, but why not? Or is there way round it…..Everything works - I can see my library, I can play music, I can play radio stations etc etc. Just cannot fathom how to get the darned set up to honour the ‘Album Artist’ tag. All other tools/systems I have do honour the tag (J River, Logitec media server, plex etc).Any info/advice gratefully recieved.
I currently have 4 Sonos connects (2 connects, 2 connect amps), running S1 software as they are older. Found a used Connect amp that I would buy for another room, but it seems to be running S2 software. Can I downgrade it to S1? Basically want to control all units using the S1 app sort of thing. But can’t seem to figure out if that’s doable, I know I can’t do the opposite.
Hey all ---I subscribe to MLB Gameday Audio. I’ve poked around on the support pages, but every reference I’ve found to listening to MLB on Sonos seems to be at least a year old. Have there been any updates? Can we listen to MLB on our Sonos players? Thanks!
