Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

Hi everyone,I was trying to check whether the newly-introduced Spatial Audio (Dolby Atmos?) would work on my Roam via my iPhone 12 (bluetooth) or not, and it was buggy (i.e., music did not start, or just play a few seconds, perhaps loading?). Beyond that, I also had streaming issues with what I believe were normal songs in Apple Music (no lossless).Any comparable experience, explanation, or fix?ThanksDan
Apple Music is now offering dolby atmos sound. Will this sound be available when you have added the Apple Music service in the Sonos app, or is it only available through an Apple TV device?
I get that you’re proud of the commercial-free Sonos Radio HD and you want people to know about it, but in just a day of activating my subscription and listening to it, I’ve noticed the “This is Sonos” and “You're listening to <station name>” announcement interruption an excessive number of times. Please… I’m paying for it! Please stop. Once every two-three hours maybe at the most. But I think I’m hearing it like once every 15-20 minutes or something.I pay for Spotify; no announcements. I pay for Apple Music; no announcements.
Hi all,I’ve seen a number of threads around this (quite old) but can’t figure it out.Is there a way of adding 320kbps streams of BBC Radio stations on to Sonos?I assume the standard TuneIN and Sonos Radio streams are all at 128kbps?Thanks!
Hey all, I got a request to make:Wouldn't TV dialog sync would be much more reasonably placed if it was in the main UI as seen in the screenshot below? Either here or at least under the 3-dot (setting) section. Why is it much more reasonable? In one word: usability. In a couple: Think of the feature's use-case.I, for instance, have several products which I use: Xbox, Native TV apps and a streamer. Some apps require me to use the TV dialog sync, which requires searching for the settings and clicking through a minimum of 4 menus, with some scrolling thats involved. That's not very convenient when you're already bothered by the off sync and care to enjoy the content you're watching asap. Also, adding it to the Widget so it will be only one click away might also be awesome.Hope this can be considered and prioritized. If you read this, please respond and add your feedback or just reply with "+1". Perhaps we, as a community, could help to make the change by showing the value this would add to
Hi, I read a lot about Sonos and DLNA and my question is why is not yet possible to play music from a DLNA server running on a NAS?The Sonos app show the NAS and let me navigate through folders but when I try to play music says: Unable to add music to queue. It makes no sense to me. Why should I use the obsolete samba protocol to share folders over my network while the DLNA protocol exists?Sonos is almost perfect but this is a big disqualification. My Samsung TV sees and play music from my NAS. Obviously I don’t want to play music on my TV and this is why I bought a Sonos speaker. RegardsMax
Hi,Does the S2 application will support Dolby Atmos and lossless audio format I use Apple Music in this application. At the moment it is possible only by AirPlay 2. I'd like to start the S2 application to choose Apple Music and listen to lossless audio formats :)GreetingsRaf
I get really teed off that SONOS in their high and mighty way disable my system if I don't apply the updates immediately. Whatever happened to user choice? There used to be a LATER option, (although SONOS admitted it didn't work), but now there is no choice whatsoever - install or don't have a sonos system…. have we really entered the big brother era where SONOS simply won't wait? Just as well Apple don't take the same approach.I’ve heard all the excuses about my system won't work without them, but it’s is such a basic set up that all the new add ons are completely irrelevant and do not apply to my system… and even if they did SONOS can wait until I’m ready to install, and not be forced to like a big bully who won’t wait
Where are they on the S1 app? Also how to add an equalizer? thx
Don’t know their algorithms, but smooth jazz is not smooth jazz. Sonos thinks it is R & B the ultimate mishmash, Black Worship, etc. Ridiculous, and I’m supposed to pay to skip a song?
Why did the app just update (June 2021) and make me have to allow bluetooth? I use this on wifi. I find the forced app updates a royal pain in the a$$.
PLEASE ADDRESS THIS!! It is painful to listen at 1.0 speed. Within audible, playback can be adjusted by tenths (1.1x, 1.2x, 1.3x, etc.) It’s incredible how long this has been a discussion rather than a product capability. We pay so much for these great products, but we need the functionality to be AT LEAST in line with the tech world. It would be great if Sonos was a leader with new functionality as a straggler.
i have a system that works fine on S1. I always turn it on and get the music playing from my computer (I like working on the bigger screen). Then I switch to my iphone to control volume as I wander around.I just relocated to my summer cottage which has a separate Sonos system (but I use the same iphone) with 4 Connects. I was greeted with a message that said I needed to update to S2 which I did. Now my music is a mess...specifically I cannot update my library to match what I have in itunes. I have made sure that Sonos is pointing to the folders on my computer that have my music and also the .itl and .xml files. My Connects look like the image below. i have spent countless hours trying to figure out what equiment I have (legacy or modern). No, my serial numbers do not start with numbers that could be month and year. Nothing about version. But maybe this is telling---Series ID: C100.So now I have both S1 and S2 apps on my computer. I am thinking I should not have updated to S2, EVEN T
How do I get search to start with the services I care about? I have a bunch of services integrated into my Sonos. The one that does the simplest thing I usually want--play the song--always comes last. It’s Tidal, and I’m assuming Sonos defaults to alphabetical order by service name or something. With the exception of “Sonos Radio”. By doing that, the first result returned is usually for Pandora or LiveXLive or something that won’t play the thing being searched for. It effectively means nobody but me can ever play a song and my fancy Sonos system gets unused as whoever is searching chooses to just play on the crappy phone speakers rather than bothering to figure out software. What I’d like is to have it search Tidal first. I don’t want to remove the other services because I like them and use them sometimes. What do I need to do?
Hi all - I currently have a Sonos amp which is powering two sonance outdoor speakers. Also have an outdoor TV and two other speakers in a location which is to far to connect to my current sonos amp. I am curious if I am able to install a Sonos amp near the tv location allowing the tv to then play out of the two sonance speakers which are wired to the other amp. Essentially having the TV play out of both sonos amp locations. Thanks
In order to get around the need to set up SMB1 on my media server (I’d prefer not to rely on this because of the probability that my server will stop supporting it) I’m trying to set up a DLNA server instead, which should (I think) broadcast the availability of the media via UPnP.The problem I have is that I have configured the DLNA server (Rygel, running under linux) but I don’t know where the services are supposed to appear within the Sonos (Android-based) app! I have, under System, Media Servers, ticked both Show Media Servers and Show UPnP Servers, but where are they supposed to appear? Having never used that part of the app before, I don’t know what to look for.
Just paid £400 for my first sonos kit - MOVEStraight away built in obsolescence with the SONOS2 app and can't run it on my two fully working mobiles!Borrowed wife's mobile to activate it - painful!Found my media server SONOS whines at adding and playing 50% of tracks. Didn't waste time investigating. Switched to.Bluetooth. could cast and stream from my 10+year old Sony phone OK. Downloaded an Internet radio player to same 10+year old Sony - loads of android apps available installed and worked - there you go.SONOS developers it can be done for older.phones you.just chose not to.Then read.all the user posts conforming their various hardware all become obsolete at differing intervals My MOVE is going straight back for refund. Never again will I purchase SONOS Audio not overly impressive either - loud yes, but not worthy of £400 and the fear that whatever OS limitation I overcome today - it can be torn down at any time.
Just updated the controller for Mac and evertime I try and use the search bar it just crashes. It didn't have this problem yesterday. Also my Ones seemed to have automatically unpaired themselves twice today as well but I was able to repair them back to stereo. Have both these issues been happening for anyone else?
If I connect my Sonos to YouTube Music, I'm able to access all my playlists etc on YTM no problem. And play my songs sound wise. HOWEVER, why can't I play my videos anymore? Is it something I'm doing wrong, or it that Sonos & YTM just aren't on the same exact terms with one another? I DON'T have a smart TV, so I either view my music videos by my Google Pixel 3a, my ASUS Vivo Flipbook or by casting to my aged TV. It makes no sense that I can use any regular bluetooth speaker with these devices and play & view my YouTube music videos. Yet, I'm completely unable to do so with my Sonos, and that totally irritates me. HELP this extremely computer-uneducated music & dance lover!
Is anyone else seeing this? If I try to search for a station, the app crashes and exits. My system is all running on:Sonos OS: S2Version: 13.1.1 (build 63289260)
When I pick an album (Amazon music that I own), one of my Albums (linked to iTunes library), Spotify, or even Spotify’s “Made for Me” Daily Mix lists … Sonos only plays the first item over and over, never going to next. This is even though I pick “Play Now”. has been going on for a few weeks (or longer?). The only reliable music source I now have is Tune-in to a radio station, sadly.
For some reasons the Local radio are in the wrong city. It is et for Ottawa and I live in Montreal. How can I change that? Gerard
I’ve pretty much uploaded all of my music to my WDPR2100 NAS. Well at least on the tail end. It’s taking me over a week to figure it out and to copy to NAS. So I’m trying to figure out how to use my NAS to play music on Sonos now. I’m not having much luck. I’ve searched here and found a few old post. One post took me to this...https://support.sonos.com/s/article/78?language=en_US. I followed the directions on my Windows laptop and and my iPhone. Took me a few try’s on the iPhone to get to the Next button. I typed in \\y:mycloudpr2100\music and Next highlighted finally. But when I hit Next I get the message The computer y:mycloudpr2100 cannot be found. I tried my user name and password and still same message. Do I need to configure this on my Windows laptop first before my iPhone? What am I missing here?
Are there any plans for more in depth EQ settings / True Play for the Sonos Amp powering non Sonos speakers?I love my Sonos Amp but I'm very limited with it connected to a pair of Fyne Audio F501 floor standing speakers. Using Roon I can use a Parametric Equalizer which makes a huge difference to the overall sound coming out my speakers. Unfortunately though when I am using the S2 app I lose this capability.
Tried a variety of different upnp servers - nothing displays under music browse (S2). Does this feature actually work?
