When playing music from the local Android device everything plays fine up until my phone has been closed got about 5 to 10 minutes. The now playing will show the old song and all the buttons become unresponsive. The song now playing also doesn't match to what was supposed to be next in the queue. Any suggestions?
Hi all,Not so much a Sonos as iTunes question.I have been following the ‘Help’ in this Apple link to assist in transferring my Tunes library to a new PC. I have already downloaded and isntalled the iTunes App on my new PC.https://support.apple.com/en-nz/guide/itunes/itns3230/windows Problem ( I think) I’m having is that to me its not that specific in the Backup section as to which folder should be copied? The final instruction in that section says “ Drag the iTunes folder from its location to an external drive”. To me that means the whole ITunes folder ( and its subs) ?? However, in the next section on Restoring from Backup it says “ Important: It’s highly recommended that you put the iTunes folder back in [User folder]\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media.”Now, I don’t think they mean you should paste the whole iTunes folder from the old machine into the iTunes Media sub-folder, do they? So what folder/files should I copy from the old PC, and precisely where should I save them on the new one,
When Google Play Music was around, I'd use a play list from it on Sonos. Right next to each song in the playlist was a thumbs up/down -- super easy to vote on a song. Now that YouTube Music has replaced GPM... I no longer see the thumbs up/down in Sonos, which is a huge annoyance for me. Is there another music service that works w/Sonos like GPM did?My use case is super simple:I have one playlist (liked music) that I listen to on shuffle. When I come across a new band on say I'll go and 'like' 10 or songs... add them to shuffle. Whenever something plays that I don't want to hear anymore, I could quickly unlike it in Sonos and it updated the playlist back at the GPM (or whatever service supports it).
Hey All, Apple Music & Amazon Music is about to support Dolby Atmos, does anyone know if playback through the Sonos app will allow for Dolby Atmos content or is it just via HDMI?
We have a single Sonos amp that powers our pool speakers. My wife and I both have separate YouTube music accounts as we listen to different music.I have the single Sonos account. Is there a way to either giver her, her own Sonos profile or be able to load up BOTH YouTube accounts in same Sonos window? The reason is if she plays music on YouTube music, even if it is on the Sonos, it affects my mixes.
I wasn’t aware of Sonos Radio HD until this last week. Noticing that they offered a free 30 day trial, I was going to activate it and try it out but decided against it after I read the minimal feature list and couldn’t determine if it had the features I wanted or not. In my opinion, if you want to launch a premium “radio” music service today, the service you have to beat is Stingray Music. Thus you need your features to at least match and hopefully even exceed theirs. In a nutshell, Stingray Music is optimized for discovery. Thus the whole user experience is centered around making this process as simple and effective in determining what you like and dislike, so as to offer a better music listening experience overall. What this means is going way beyond just the ability to skip a song. It’s means the ability to dislike / block a song or an artist, so you don’t hear them again and thus have to continue to manually skip it. Having both is essential, as I may love an artist but hate one of
hi i only want to control the volume in my family room on my remote not the app how do i disable that?
iTunes Last Played and Play counts are important to me. I understand those functions don’t work using the Sonos player. Is it possible to play music via iTunes on my Mac using the Sonos speakers without using the Sonos player? I know I can do that via Airplay on my iPhone -- but that also does not compute Last Played and Play counts. I have sophisticated playlists on iTunes that don’t translate specifically to Sonos. I love the speakers but want to keep the versatility of the iTunes Player. Thoughts?
I own Sonos Arc + Sub (Gen 3) + 2 Sonos One products connected to newly bought Apple TV 4K via HDfury Arcana as my Samsung TV doesn't have eArc. I'm able to get Dolby ATMOS on it's supported latest movies i.e. TENET from streaming apps. But the issue I have is for Non ATMOS movies. I set audio HDMT output as Auto with Dolby ATMOS in my Apple TV. So movies with Dolby Digital Plus (DD+) 5.1 audio format, I get Multichannel PCM 5.1 instead of Dolby Digital Plus (DD+) 5.1 in my Sonos Arc. The Multichannel PCM 5.1 is softer than Dolby Digital Plus (DD+) 5.1 and the sound is not great. Hence I would like to check if the sound can be better in Sonos Arc for DD+ 5.1 audio content movies? thanks
Once S2 is released, will I still be able to buy new speakers and add them to a legacy system? I know that every time I add a new speaker to my existing system, it forces me to update every controller and speaker to the latest version before bringing the new speaker online. (That’s how I lost the ability to use old controllers, even though we don’t use any features that weren’t there 10 years ago.) It would cost thousands to replace my legacy speakers (that are still working well), and our most common usage case is “party mode” with everything linked together and in sync, so a split system is not appealing. We’ve been working our way through the facility, buying another speaker every six months. Do I have to hurry up and buy the rest of the rooms before June?
It has taken me many hours to figure out from intense Googling that the reason Sonos won’t include certain songs from my itunes playlists is that these particular songs are protected (m4p). I have been all over the internet looking for a free tool to convert them. I already own these songs...I don’t think I should have to pay more $ to convert them. I don’t have very many songs with this issue. Can you help? Thanks in advance.
Hello. Maybe this can be useful for more people using Apple Music lossless via Airplay 2. I listen to my music with Sound check > ON - all the time, but I noticed that the sound from Apple Music is not so clear as the sound from Tidal integration in the Sonos app. By clear, I mean not so bright highs, not so defined lower frequencies, and also mids. Well, not anymore. After applying in the Settings > Music > Sound check > Off AND Settings > Music > Dolby Atmos > Off (if it was on Automatic, or On) The sound will immediately pop-up, as it should. (The change of Dolby Atmos settings is important here, because turning Sound check On or Off will not change the setting immediately). I was surprised how the change is audible on my basic speakers. My setup: iPad 2019Ikea Bookshelf Symfonisk after Trueplay calibration in the stereo pair Tested with several records - Abbey Road from The Beatles, Diana Ross, etc. All in Lossless, or Hi-Res Lossless. Now, there is an
My sonos app on my iPhone has betone very aloe to start up and find my speakers. The same for everyone in the family. Have tried to delete and reinstall App and reset all speakers and set up as new. Still the same. seems to have started since last update.
I don’t have any compatible airplay devices yet today my Sonos content which I’ve started from the Sonos app randomly shows up in lock screen with full volume control. Did I miss an update or am I stupid?
Hi everyone,I was trying to check whether the newly-introduced Spatial Audio (Dolby Atmos?) would work on my Roam via my iPhone 12 (bluetooth) or not, and it was buggy (i.e., music did not start, or just play a few seconds, perhaps loading?). Beyond that, I also had streaming issues with what I believe were normal songs in Apple Music (no lossless).Any comparable experience, explanation, or fix?ThanksDan
Apple Music is now offering dolby atmos sound. Will this sound be available when you have added the Apple Music service in the Sonos app, or is it only available through an Apple TV device?
I get that you’re proud of the commercial-free Sonos Radio HD and you want people to know about it, but in just a day of activating my subscription and listening to it, I’ve noticed the “This is Sonos” and “You're listening to <station name>” announcement interruption an excessive number of times. Please… I’m paying for it! Please stop. Once every two-three hours maybe at the most. But I think I’m hearing it like once every 15-20 minutes or something.I pay for Spotify; no announcements. I pay for Apple Music; no announcements.
Hi all,I’ve seen a number of threads around this (quite old) but can’t figure it out.Is there a way of adding 320kbps streams of BBC Radio stations on to Sonos?I assume the standard TuneIN and Sonos Radio streams are all at 128kbps?Thanks!
Hey all, I got a request to make:Wouldn't TV dialog sync would be much more reasonably placed if it was in the main UI as seen in the screenshot below? Either here or at least under the 3-dot (setting) section. Why is it much more reasonable? In one word: usability. In a couple: Think of the feature's use-case.I, for instance, have several products which I use: Xbox, Native TV apps and a streamer. Some apps require me to use the TV dialog sync, which requires searching for the settings and clicking through a minimum of 4 menus, with some scrolling thats involved. That's not very convenient when you're already bothered by the off sync and care to enjoy the content you're watching asap. Also, adding it to the Widget so it will be only one click away might also be awesome.Hope this can be considered and prioritized. If you read this, please respond and add your feedback or just reply with "+1". Perhaps we, as a community, could help to make the change by showing the value this would add to
Hi, I read a lot about Sonos and DLNA and my question is why is not yet possible to play music from a DLNA server running on a NAS?The Sonos app show the NAS and let me navigate through folders but when I try to play music says: Unable to add music to queue. It makes no sense to me. Why should I use the obsolete samba protocol to share folders over my network while the DLNA protocol exists?Sonos is almost perfect but this is a big disqualification. My Samsung TV sees and play music from my NAS. Obviously I don’t want to play music on my TV and this is why I bought a Sonos speaker. RegardsMax
Hi,Does the S2 application will support Dolby Atmos and lossless audio format I use Apple Music in this application. At the moment it is possible only by AirPlay 2. I'd like to start the S2 application to choose Apple Music and listen to lossless audio formats :)GreetingsRaf
I get really teed off that SONOS in their high and mighty way disable my system if I don't apply the updates immediately. Whatever happened to user choice? There used to be a LATER option, (although SONOS admitted it didn't work), but now there is no choice whatsoever - install or don't have a sonos system…. have we really entered the big brother era where SONOS simply won't wait? Just as well Apple don't take the same approach.I’ve heard all the excuses about my system won't work without them, but it’s is such a basic set up that all the new add ons are completely irrelevant and do not apply to my system… and even if they did SONOS can wait until I’m ready to install, and not be forced to like a big bully who won’t wait
Where are they on the S1 app? Also how to add an equalizer? thx
Don’t know their algorithms, but smooth jazz is not smooth jazz. Sonos thinks it is R & B the ultimate mishmash, Black Worship, etc. Ridiculous, and I’m supposed to pay to skip a song?
Why did the app just update (June 2021) and make me have to allow bluetooth? I use this on wifi. I find the forced app updates a royal pain in the a$$.
