I have a setup of one Sonos One grouped with two older Play:1s to form an AirPlay group.Until recently when I used this AirPlay group on my Apple TV, iPhone, … I could adjust the volume on the iOS side and the volume of the group changed. With a recent change (Sonos Update, iOS 14.5?, not sure) now only the volume of the Sonos One is changing leaving the other devices to be always out of sync / no longer controllable via Apple TV remote or Homekit automations.Has anyone else noticed this?
Every time I launch the Sonos app, some of my speakers are missing. It is not a constant speaker, it seems its always a different one. Should I reset the entire app? And for a missing speaker, do all I have to do is click the pairing button? This is beyond frustrating as my entire system is never listed in full. There is always at least one speaker missing.
I’m trying to figure out why my Sonos speakers (2 x Play: 1, 2 x Beam, 1 x Symfonisk Bookshelf, 2 x Symfonisk Table Lamps, 1 x Move, 1 x Roam) keeps cutting off. My router is an ASUS RT-N66U. Could it be that I need to upgrade my router? It’s always done a good job except for the music playback on my Sonos speakers recently. I took a diagnostic. Can someone take a look at it and point me in the right direction? 272111800 Thank you! Dan
Hi, I have my sonos in wall speakers (wired) connected to my sonos amp. Both in wall speakers and sonos amp are purchased brand new. My TV is connected to the amp thru the HDMI ARC port (its a Samsung). This has been working wonderfully for 6 weeks and tonight while watching a streaming svc (Hulu) an awful loud buzzing started from the left in wall speaker. It makes the show unviewable-- so loud! I disconnected everything and reconnected (hoping there was a loose connection)-- no luck. I can play music thru the sonos 1 app on the in wall speakers with no buzzing, so I know the speakers are okay… help! any advice would be appreciated!
sonos dropping out a recent issue after years of perfect operating, I don't have a managed switch either.
my system comprises a sonos play 5 and two sonos plays. i bought a new sonos 1 last week to add to the system. when doing the new connection it asked me to update the app on my iphone. I did that ...result was it added S2 to replace S1 as the contoller on my phone. It DID NOT WARN OR tell me that by doing that it would stop me using the sonos play 5 as part of the new system. It created a system with the two plays and the one but excluded the play 5 (I have now found out the play 5 has to be controlled by S1)I dont want to have my original sonos plays and the 5 on a separate system and want to keep those as one main system and then ridiculous as it may now seem use the “new” sonos 1 on its own controlled by S”.. ..how do i go about downgrading the plays and reconnecting them back to my S1 controlled system IE use them with the sonos play 5 and the two sonos plays as a system controlled by S1 and then use the new sonos one on its own as a separate system on S2?I factory reset the two
Hi,I’ve been having an issue with my Sonos one that means I am unable to connect to it via airplay (or add it to the apple home app for that matter). basically I am unable to interact with it through anything other than the app or Alexa. I have a good reason to believe it is an issue with this Sonos, I've done all the usual (turn everything off and on, factory reset speaker and reset app), and nothing seems to let it work. There is another Sonos one (same model) on this network that I can airplay to quite happily, along with apple products such as TV which don’t complain at all. I was wondering if there was any solutions to force the speaker to start accepting airplay streams. I submitted a diagnostic after trying to airplay, the number is: 1494513105 Thanks
How can I stop this. Bought $6,000 worth of gear and not working properly.
Hello all - new to the community, and relatively new to Sonos, and I am looking for assistance. I have a group set-up in my living room consisting of a Playbase (connected by ethernet to a TP-Link powerline wifi adapter), a Sub (Gen 2) and two One SLs. All works perfectly with TV and streaming music Apple/Spotify etc) in standard resolution. I wish to stream hi-res music on this group - either Amazon HD or Quobuz - as I am impressed by the difference in audio clarity. I find that when I stream either of these services (through Sonos app), the first song plays, and then skips the last 8 seconds of the song and jumps to the next. Then, by the second or third song of the playlist, the music just comes through the Playbase (which has the ethernet connection) and the other speakers no longer play. If I skip back to the start of that particular track, then I get full surround again, but the whole problem happens again by the time of the next song.Having read a bit on the web and in this foru
On the sonos app, if I select Line in to play an LP on the Amp (as I usually do), nothing happens. The timer goes on forever. This happened all of a sudden ... any suggestions ?
Hi I have set up a split S1 & S2 Sonos instance , and have my old incompatible play 5 only on the S1 app however there appears to be a problem adding another controller app …… from an extra device you cannot seem to detect the speaker on the second app …… it worked fine until a couple of weeks ago but i dont seem to be able to get it working now …..any clues ???
So this is a continuation from another issue that got resolved last week by disabling “Private address” but now whenever I leave home [and the wifi network] when I return home and auto connect to my home wifi I get “unable to connect to Sonos. Learn More” again. See below I have a Sonos Connect Amp that is connected wirelessly to our BT router in the next room [no bridges/extenders]. The router isn't new, been moved or any passwords changed; likewise for the amp. To play music I use an iPad fixed in one location [this iPad connects fine to the amp and can play music using the S1 app]. However, my iPhone X [running latest software] using S1 app has just suddenly, for no apparent reason, started saying “unable to connect to Sonos. Learn More”. I have tried my work iPhone as well in case it was just my personal mobile acting out but that won't connect either and I get the same message.I have tried:Resyncing the phone by pressing the mute and + button on the amp. Going to the app and conne
This seems to be a recurring problem and I haven’t seen any solutions that occurred in the past and somehow got resolved. Anybody know what’s going on?
I could swear the pre-release marketing said you can play 2 Roam speakers simultaneously off one bluetooth device.Similarly I could swear I read that Roam will sling a bluetooth signal into the Sonos ecosystem.I haven't been able to accomplish either of these features.Have I been misled? If so I might return one of my Roams. Having 2 Roams playing at an outdoor party was a huge selling point for me.I have found that a single Roam speaker just isn't enough to fill an outdoor area.
After two years my alarm has stopped working.I’m used to the no internet connection ie SONOS chimes and the issue when the plug gets pulled on TUNEin providers due to SONY court action etc. But now, the alarms simply doesn’t function any more.I’ve created a new alarm - no change.Deleted old alarm and created a new one - no change. Any thoughts as I enjoy starting the day with music/news etc.
Hey guys, I am having troubles with my Sonos Move “chirping” or “audio clipping” every couple minutes when playing music on YouTube Music. It sounds awful when it happens and its always louder than the music. I’ve heard some other people on here have had the same issues but on other products and the blame always gets put on the TV its connected to.Well I’ve contacted Sonos and they just keep saying, “We’ll keep an eye on the issue and fix it on the next software update.”It’s been driving me NUTS the past couple days and I can’t seem to wait it out till it stops.Has anyone else had the same isses with their Sonos products chirping? (AND NOT CONNECTED THROUGH HDMI ARC)And if so, has there been a way to get around it?
I have 10 Sonos Devices - all have worked fine for years/months without issue - however all of a sudden (past month maybe more) the Sonos App cannot see multiple devices or sometimes the entire system. Other apps (such as spotify) can see them - and if you physicially press play on the devices they continue to play the last playlist so are connected to wifi. It’s completely random, somtimes the app sees all. sometimes none and sometimes just one - they are all connected via Wifi.I’ve triedcomplete factory reset on my home router (BT) - no change Factory reset of one/two devices but no change - no change I’ve attempted evey change on the forums (2.4 channel change, re assign nwk, find system etc.) - no change uninstalled the app on all iphones/ipads - no change I’ve done the above multiple times with different results at different times - when you finally think evything is working again the app allows you contorl devices for a short period of time and then loses them again. Is there
Hi all, and a shout out to the sonos gurus as I’m stuck and pi**ed off.Had BT broadband and Sky TV (Q and Mini Box), all good and sonos on mesh network. Boost lived on 24 port unmanaged switch.Moved to Sky Fibre yesterday (Friday 23rd April 2021) and I can’t get any of my devices in the app.I took the Boost and plugged into router directly and managed to add the Move in the app (V2) but nothing else - even on my iMac it’s not connecting.I think my only option is to factory reset all my sonos kit which is a fair amount of resetting - would rather not take that path but it’s F**ked! The Playbar and two ones (SS) still work on the TV via optic but can’t see or control anything.I’ve attached two screen dumps of Sky router settings - this is how I had my BT set and best to separate channels in my opinion. So my gurus, you know who you are - please help as I just can’t fathom this out and with my Philips Hue lighting having the same issue (fingers crossed that’s fixed) then my poor old head is
Hi, my sonos playbar has a flashing green light and somehow is now not on my system in the room. Have tried to add again but it is not being picked up by the wifi. I have no sound??? The sub, play 3 and play 1 are all good.
We just bought a couple of new Sonos One SL’s, and aren’t able to add them to our system. When trying to set them up, they get found, but the setup process doesn’t finish. We get to the chime step, but the connection never completes. We added a couple of new One SL’s last fall, so they should be compatible. We did replace the wi-fi router, but our Connect:Amp is hard wired to the internet. Rebooted everything. We’re still running Sonos S1 on an iPhone, since we have non-compatible devices (an old Connect:Amp).Any thoughts? Thanks!
I have two Sonos ONE SL set up in stereo mode in one room, and a Sonos ARC in another room. Both don’t work with AirPlay 2 from a MacBook Pro.The spakers are set up correctly and I can play using Spotify Connect from the iPhone app and from the Spotify desktop app. There is no audio coming through AirPlay 2 though, no matter what I try the connection is established (as visibile from the app reporting that AirPlay 2 is initiated) but there is no audio at all. Also volume controls and play/pause seem to work, yet no sound. I have submitted diagnostic information # 1477170668.
I have had my system for a number of years and last changed by router (BT Smarthub 2) a year ago and have no problems whatsoever until recently. My whole system no keeps disappearing so you cannot see it from the controller device. It isn’t the controller as we use multiple devices ( all Apple) and on each device it will say that it can’t find the system. My system is a play bar + sub and 2 play 1’s in the living room and 2 more play 1 s in other rooms. Once the system disappears, if you reset the router it will return but often only for a short while and then connection will be lost again. If you log into the router it says all the devices are still connected. (As are the devices) used as controllers If you connect the play bar by Ethernet the whole system is rediscovered. Doing the same for other devices is less successful. The individual device may return but play is interrupted. If the keeping the play bar connected to Ethernet is a long term solution then I can look at thi
Hello I have a problem with some alarms to play radio at wakeup time that trigger the sonos chimes systematically. I have tried twice to troubleshoot through the sonos support chat but I’m very frustrated as they propose basic troubleshooting (have you rebooted the router, can you reboot the speakers, did you delete and recreate the alarm, did you reinstall the app, etc) and we turn in circles and waste time. I have requested to escalate my request but I don’t manage to get attention from the right talent. It is frustrating. Here is my scenario. Got speakers in almost every room of the house. Recently I upgraded all system to gen2 and replaced two PLAY5 from gen1 to gen2. I got a PLAY 5 in my bedroom, wired, and it has an alarm to play a radio news channel at 7:00 - well I always get the sonos chime. 7 minutes later I have another alarm to play radio music - it works always.Even more when the sonos chime is plaing I just need to push the stop/play button twice to switch from chime to
Hello,We are new to sonos and have recently purchased 3 play 5’s. We are all using android phones and are all experiencing the same issue… losing the wifi connection with the controller. We live in a large house (6000sq ft) and the speakers are outside in our outdoor living area. Our router is centrally located on the top floor of the house. I am using a sonos boost. Everything works perfectly when we are in our home. Its just when we go out side… the controller appears to lose wifi coverage making it difficult to connect to speakers, change songs… etc.Not sure what to do… whether to get a WIFI extender, if so, which one? indoor or outdoor? or use a mesh router?Any help would be appreciated...
Hi all,Hope to get some help with an issue we have been having for some time. We operate a yoga studio and have Sonos equipment throughout. Our teachers bring their own devices with their own music so we’re dealing with multiple makes/models and streaming services. Some staff use the Sonos Controller app, others do not.In one of our studios we have two Play:1 devices (wifi) and a Play:5 (gen 2) device (ethernet). Sometimes we are not able to connect to the speakers via Airplay on an Apple device. I get the “cannot connect” error. This seems to affect mostly the hard-wired Play:5. What I found is that if I can connect one of the speakers, usually one of the Play:1 models, then I can group the speakers via the controller app on my PC and the speakers will immediately work. It’s almost like the controller has a ‘lock’ on the speakers and is refusing the AirPlay connection, even when no music is playing and the previous user has left the building. So even though I have a work-around, I’d l
