My router is telling me… “A device using an older Wi-Fi standard (802.11a,b,g,b/g) is slowing down other devices on the network. We recommend turning the Wi-Fi off on this device or turning the device off.” Device Name: Sonos-LivingRoomPlaybar”Any ideas on how to fix this OTHER than turning off the wifi. The playbar is not in a location that is easily hardwired. I have made sure that the firmware is up-to-date.The Playbar is less than 5 years old, so it shouldn’t be out of date technology wise already?!?
Hello, I’ve already posted a few months back about my Sonos Connect which was giving me problems (see thread here), but I got some interesting updates I wanted to share since then.Shortly after that thread I had to move to a new place, so I left the Connect in a box for a while, but I still wanted to give it a last chance. A few weeks later, I went ahead and opened it up to check the power supply output as a last ditch effort (was suspecting a PSU issue). Nothing wrong there, voltages were stable as it should. Now the funny thing is, after putting it back together, it suddenly started working like a charm! Not a single crash for weeks on end. Got me really puzzled as to what happened since the only thing I thought I did was to check the voltages, nothing else.Fast forward 6 months to a few days back, and it finally crashes again. Now here’s some observations I could gather better this time:The Connect was set up on a new wifi since the “fix” (new home, new router, new wifi). The last thi
Hello, few days ago i noticed when opening the sonos app that it said it couldnt be used with the system anymore ( arc + 2 sonos one sls as surround ). I updated and now im getting faint white noise over my music/movies etc from the SLs as soon as i start playing something. Playing source seems irrelevant since it does it both from my iphone ( apple music airplay ) and my LG CX. Also after stopping any sound/ source device it still plays the white noise for a few seconds then stops with a small pop ( when they become inactive i suppose ). Tried unplugging , nothing changes. My arc has no white noise. Tried resetting wifi network, no success ( even if wifi is down until they become inactive white noise can still be heard). Any ideas? Going crazy here.
I received an RMA email minutes after chat with the Sonos agent. The link to initiate the process failed to complete. A follow-up chat about the problem led to an escalation to the 'returns team'. I was told I would receive a reply within 24-48 hrs. Almost a week later and I'm still waiting... My problem is compounded by having to use the chat support (due to a speech impediment which makes phone support almost impossible).I sort of expected better practical support from Sonos.
Greetings, The above thread is closed, so I’m starting a new one, with the hopes of finding a solution. My Play 5 gen 1 lost all communication a while ago. There was a very nice videon on YT by Henzelmen, which made me fix the power supply. The unit came back to life, let me update firmware. But during the update, I noticed a background hiss. After the upgrade, I can play music, but it is tinny, lacking bass and continues to be noisy and quite low volume from what I do remember this Play:5 delivering in the past.I did ohm out all the resistors indicated in the picture of the above thread. They all seem ok, except R27833, which according to the marking (30d) should be a 200kOhm, but measures 4.99kOhm…When I do measure Source-Drain on the MosFET (Q27621), it shows a short circuit. I’m guessing this means the mosfet is busted…Now, I went on Amazon and on Newark Electronics, looking for APM4307, but it doesn’t show up. And I haven’t found an equivalent either. Can someone point me in the rig
Hello everyone, I have just bought a Sonos Beam (Gen 2) and it sounds fantastic. I can access Dolby Atmos via AppleTV, Dolby Digital Plus via Amazon Prime and PCM Stereo via iPlayer. However, when I watch a 4K Blu-ray or Blu-ray or with Dolby Atmos or Dolby TrueHD, it only displays Dolby Digital. I think I have all the connections and settings correct, so I’m flummoxed. I would be very grateful if anyone had any suggestions.SAMSUNG UE43RU7470UXXUSONY UBP X-800
I control my Sonos system using the iPhone app. Since the latest app update to 13.3.1 last week, the app started overriding the volume setting on my phone. If my iPhone volume for audio playback through the phone speakers is set to the lowest setting / silent, then open the Sonos app, the volume setting for phone playback is automatically reset to the Sonos system volume, even when I return to other apps. Is there a way to turn this off? I’m tired of constantly turning down the volume on my iPhone. (Yes, I have hardware volume controls turned off for the Sonos app.)
I’ve searched the web and can’t seem to find out why I’m not getting atmos on Netflix. I have a beam gen2 plugged into the hdmi arc on the tv with the supplied hdmi cable and the premium Netflix subscription. I’ve set the audio to use bitstream Dolby audio out. The tv has DD+ and my understanding is that I should get a compressed version of atmos but still atmos however in the s2 app it’s saying I’m getting Dolby digital plus 5.1
I got a new Sonos Port to replace an existing (and working) CONNECT:AMP. Going through the setup, it fails when trying to connect to WiFi. It says it must be 2.4GHz, despite this page clearly saying Port works with 5Ghz: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/126?language=en_USSo, I logged in to my router, turned off the 5Ghz radio and restarted. I confirmed on my phone that I’d reconnected to 2.4Ghz. However, when I try to set up Port again, I get the same message: unable to connect to WiFi, and a warning that it must be 2.4Ghz.Not sure where to go from here.
I have a Sonos Port with a dud channel. Can’t find anyone to fix it. Does anyone know of a repairer?
While they work perfectly fine, none of my Sonos devices that are connected via Ethernet or Sonosnet show up in my Unifi clients list. The only device that shows up normally is my Roam, as it’s connecting via Wifi. My other 8 devices do not show up in the Unifi Clients list if they are connected via Ethernet. However, if I disconnect the one that’s on Ethernet, the devices will eventually start showing up in the list. There’s no problem, per se, but it’s damned peculiar. And, at one time they did appear in the UI, and Unifi reported them them as being attached to the same port as the Bridge. (This is expected behavior for daisy chained networking equipment.)Anyone else using Unifi wanna open their Clients tab and see how your Sonos devices are showing up? (UDM Pro, two Unifi Switches, and two WAPs)
I have an existing sonos network consisting of a Beam and Play:1 speaker. The Sonos S2 controller on my Android phone can connect to the system and play music on both speakers. On my MacBook Pro 2012 (MacOs version 10.15.7) the Spotify app can see both speakers and play music on them. However, the Sonos Controller app (version 13.2) running on the MacBook can’t find the existing system. I’ve rebooted router, macbook, and speakers and still nothing. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app on the MacBook and that didn’t fix the issue. The firewall on the macbook is off. Beam is wired to the router, Play:1 is wifi connected. Phone and MacBook use the same Wifi network (5Ghz) to connect to router. I’ve run out of ideas what else should I check?
Hopefully someone can help!I’m having an issue with my system. When I change tracks some of the speakers change instantly where others in the house are slightly behind, anything up to 10 seconds slower to respond. It is not always the same ones that have the delay.I have on my system a playbar, sub and 2 play ones grouped, and also 4 other play ones and a play three all separate. I have tried re-booting, changing the WiFi channel and connecting one directly to the router, none of which has worked. I am also now running a boost connected to my router which hasn’t helped either.Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Had it all setup - then suddenly the 2 PLAY:1 drops of - adding them again but when I try to add them as surround it fails - The network are stabil and all products are on… so what do I do? “Add surround speakers. This will take a minute...”“There is a problem adding your surround speakers. Check your network connection, and check that your products is on”
Hi, I have a SONOS system I bought a couple years ago and over the past few months they have routinely disconnected themselves and require reset to get working. Now they are not even being found, despite being reset.Do I just have a bad system? What can be done to fix it?
Morning, today for the first time I’ve found that I’m getting large popups in the Sonos app advertising new features of the Sonos Radio service, this despite me never using it and having Contact Preferences in my profile set to have both Email and Sonos App unticked. So far this morning I’ve had three large popups obscuring my Sonos app every time I’ve gone into it.Screenshots here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/fHtRJV7JW53iEfAC8Is this a recent update to blame? My contact preferences have not changed. None of the popups were in any way shape or form an “important announcement” which are still sent even when preferences are set to not permit contact.
Yes
Happens more frequently now but when I open S2 it gives me a found my network, upgrade to S2 or else the S1 speakers pop in. I either have to just exit out and back a bunch of times or else have to reset my phone or sometimes that doesn’t work and I have to find an S2 device and manually start it in hopees it show up. A little frustrating especially as it’s been getting progressively worse over the past few weeks.
Didn’t have any issues setting up my Arc with my older LG TV, but for some reason I’m having issues with my Beam Gen 2 and my 55 inch LG OLED CX TV. I have 2 issues and i think they are related. When I turn off the TV, and then turn it back on it defaults back to internal speakers The volume/mute buttons don’t seem to work on the LG Magic remote. Now if I unplug my FIOS box which is connected to HDMI 1 (the Sonos is connected to HDMI 2 eARC). then everything works fine. Not sure why having the fios plugged in is breaking everything. Any ideas?
Hi,I hade tried everything for 1 week but i really can’t get it to work.Is Google Home app only working with speakers from Google?Sonos has been added in the app but i can’t get it to play music trough Google Home app, but the Sonos Tv-remote does work? (also when i’m not connected to my Wi-Fi I can’t reach the Sonos system but that’s maybe normal?)/M
I have a playbar and sub in the living room that are hooked up to my TV, and neither of those have airplay. I later added 2 One-SL speakers as rear surrounds which are supposed to have airplay capability. However, when I try to airplay from Apple music (or any music app), I don’t see any of the Sonos speakers in the list (only my Apple TV). How do I fix this so I can AirPlay to the speakers without having to go through my Apple TV?Note that when I first set up the speakers and before I grouped them with the playbar and sub in the living room, I was able to AirPlay to them.Ideally I’d like to have the One SL speakers as surrounds when I’m watching the TV but airplay to the whole group via One SLs when I’m not.
Hi, I’m unable to get surround sound working on my Nintendo Switch with my Beam gen 2 on an LG CX. Here are the configurations I’ve tried:Enabling e-arc and setting the switch tv audio settings to surround sound Disabling and reenabling e-arc Setting HDMI input source to passthrough Turning off both the tv and switch with switch set to surround sound Hoping someone has better luck out there than me and can help.
I have a problem where spotify skips beginning of song or skips a song entirely. Sonos has a message that says it lost connection to spotify. I don’t think it’s a spotify problem as I use spotify on other platforms and never had any problems. The device is the Sonos Five. It is connected via ethernet cable. I have tried multiple cables and even directly into the modem. Diagnostic code: 1357360969
Hi I think Pandora is down on Sonos. At least for me.
I’ve had Sonos products since 2006. I had the OG controller with the dock. How is it that now you have 2 apps and one is not compatible with the other yet my old bridge and AMP system play off Sonos S2 until I reset my phone or try to add my 2 new SLs? If I remove everything and only add my 2 SL then it clears all my settings and won’t let me re add my Spotify. Guys seriously this is worthless. Returning these 2 $400 worth of trash and going to find a new product. You just lost a loyal customer you had for 16 years.
