Hey guys I am looking into buying the Sub to add to my existing x2 play 1 and the Beam which I already enjoy very much. I understand the sub really improves the sound experience for music and movies. My question is should I buy the Gen 3 or go for the older model which now is 145 dollars cheaper? and how do I tell if it is Gen 1 or 2? I cannot tell from extensive google search a Gen 1 from 2? 

Hi, I have the new Amp in my yard with a pair of Klipsch rock speakers.  I'd like to add a outdoor subwoofer.  Would you please give me some coaching here...do I just use the  Amp subwoofer output.  Will a subwoofer like the OSD Forza or Sonance Sonarray work?    I just want to make sure that I get the connections right and that the sub will match with the speaker level output.  Thank you in advance for your help!~  

Hi  I have a SONOS CONNECT connected by RCA jacks into a NILES SI-2100 100 watt amplifier.  Both devices are in my detached garage and feed four Niles RS6 8 Ohm speakers that are around my pool.  In between the two pair of speakers and the amplifier i have TWO  impedance matching volume controls mounted on my external garage wall.   I can control the volume of the two pair of speakers while outside.  The configuration has worked well over the past 3 years though  i’ve had issues with heat and amplifier clipping at higher volumes - especially on hot days.  The sound quality is fair but acceptable for an outdoor landscape.    The question i have: I  just purchased two additional 8 Ohm speakers for a smaller patio next to my pool area and i’m trying to figure out the best way to supply power.   I was thinking of purchasing an additional NILES SI-2100 (they are running at ~ $350 now) and having that amplifier just run the new speakers using one of the impedance volume controls already moun

Hello,  Sonos rookie here. In my new house installation I’m getting a Sonos Amp with a pair of passive third party ceiling speakers rated for 120W which are planned to be fitted in the back corners of the TV room about 2 feet from the corner. So will use the HDMI ARC for the TV obviously and will also have a Sonos wireless sub. However my question is if I was go get a pair of Sonos ones and place them either side of the TV, would the resulting sound at least give “some” resemblance to a 5.1 setup inspite of the fact that that the rears are in the ceiling and the centre is simulated from the Amp? I’m not an audiophile by any means but am just after a sound setup better than just the TV....

Hello all - Any help on my question is greatly appreciated, I am a novice in the home audio space.    I want to set up a Sonos Amp to run 4 outdoor speakers in parallel. 2 Bose Environmental 251’s on the deck about 10 feet from the Sonos Amp. And 2 8ohms rock speakers in the backyard about 100 feet away (cable will run ~150ft), using 14ga buried wire.  Is the Sonos Amp powerful enough to handle this and properly send power to all speakers? Considering I want to use the Bose 251’s what size rock speak should I get to over overwhelm the Sonos Amp?   Thanks for your consideration,  Jonathan  

I recently purchased 3 pairs of Sonos In-ceiling speakers for a total of 6 speakers. I also purchased one Sonos Amp, which I know I can connect all 6 speakers to the Amp. However, the 6 Speakers will be spread across three open rooms with a pair of speakers in each room. I don’t mind having everything on one zone to play music, but I would like to control the volume for each room or pair of speakers. Therefore, I’m thinking about ordering three of the following: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=8243 Then I could connect each pair of in-ceiling speakers to its own volume controller and then have all the volume controllers connect back to the Amp. I’m pretty sure this will work, but a confirmation would be great. Also, please let me know if there is a better way or if someone knows that this wouldn’t work with my setup. Any advise is appreciated. Basically, I’m asking if this will work? If not, any suggestions will be appreciated.

Sorry if this has already been discussed (couldn’t find a thread), but I wonder if anyone has had a similar issue. Once I got over my anger at the ‘not updating legacy kit’ issue, I took some time out and despite being a hair’s breadth from leaving Sonos altogether, eventually decided to swallow my anger. With a number of legacy products on my system I couldn’t afford to just go and spend another £2k+ in one go to update. So, a few weeks ago I purchased 2 x Sonos1’s to replace two Play5’s. I received the 30% discount on them and thought no more of it.  I then went a few days ago to look at the Amp and Port to replace my old Amp Connect and Connect with a view to perhaps purchasing in the next few weeks. On my account it showed that the credit against these 2 items had already been redeemed.  I couldn’t see how as I hadn’t bought replacements for them. When I queried this with Sonos, they said they had applied the Connect and Connect Amp discounts against my recent purchase of the 2 x S

Hello! I have been trying (and failing) to get our Sonos speakers going! They worked last summer but am having difficulty now.   Sonos is not even an option in Bluetooth. I also keep getting a message that it needs to update but then is unable to.   Any advice?!   Thanks!

Hi everyone, I’m doing a new build with some Sonos in ceiling speakers. Does anyone know if the Sonos in ceiling speakers have a compatible installation bracket I can put in before the drywall goes up?  Sonance has medium round flex brackets for new construction for their round speakers which are pretty close in size to the Sonos versions and use the same Roto-lock installation, but the spec sheet looks like they’re a little over 1/4” wider in diameter. Any experience you can share would be helpful. Thanks. 

I am considering Sonos AMP with Monitor Audio speakers and turntable but I want to output TV sound to AMP via HDMI ARC. I also have PS4 and satellite box with HDMI connectors. However I only have one hidden HDMI cable to/from TV and I do not want to have additional exposed HDMI cables from the PS4, etc. I am trying to work out if an HDMI switch/splitter will solve the problem, and if so, what spec should I be looking for. Is it possible to connect HDMI ARC out from TV to switch/splitter input and then connect switch/splitter HDMI output to AMP HDMI, and also connect PS4 to switch/splitter HDMI input to get to the TV as in diagram below ? If possible, any downsides ? Or is there another way of achieving the same result that I am missing ? Thanks  

I have a Denon AVR 3500H hard wired to a 7.1 Q acoustic system in my lounge. I also have various sonos speakers throughout my house.    if for example I am using the tune in radio through both my Denon and sonos they are out of synch so I have a horrible echo effect when I go from room to room.    My thoughts are to use the Denon as the source and set up several zones on it connecting this to a sonos connect or port. That way my music will be in synch as I go from room to room.    Would this work or is there a better way to do what I’m after?

To the staff at Sonos - So I am planning the purchase of tuner/amp for my new home to be connected to the a sonos system and Samsung Q6DR 4K QLED TV. I have had Yamaha and Onkyo tuners in the past, but have read some previous theads it seems Sonos has had some problems connecting with Yamaha tuners, but I really like the Yamaha RX - A780 Receiver but am hesitate to purchase it if it will not connect to the Sonos system. PLEASE ADVISE.

Hi All, I have bought multiple in ceiling speakers to be build in my newly build house.  But, i was wondering if these speakers are in need of a backbox? I cannot find this online and as far as my knowledge reaches about speakers and the working of it, i would say it is nescessary? Thanks in advance!

I have been putting this off for quite some time, so please excuse my ignorance since I have’t looked into this at all. I received the email for the Trade-Up offer and apparently I have three Connects and one Play 5 that will not be compatible with S2.  I know that I will still be able to use everything the way that it is now, or use the Play One’s and Play 3 that I have that will be compatible with S2.  and keep others on S1. The question I have is what features will S2 add that I would end up losing if I stayed with S1?  I’m just trying to justify the cost of replacing three connects.  Any advice would be appreciated.

I've recently traded up my old, perfectly working Amp for a new version (Thanks for forcing this Sonos ^^). Has there been a change in 3rd party sub requirements? I get absolutely nothing from the sub (with speaker terminals either in or out). Tried the calibration - absolutely nothing. Also recently got a playbar, and had the dreaded optical lipsync issue, which I had to resolve using a crappy 20 quid optical splitter from Amazon. That's about 1200 quid of kit that doesn't work out the box. Pretty poor show it has to be said. Anyway, if anyone can advise on the sub issue that would be great, thanks!

Hey guys,   I know the documentation for the outdoor speakers states that only 3 sets of the Sonos outdoor speakers can be wired to a single amp but has anyone tried a third low ohm speaker like boss 51?  It also states 4-8 ohms for these.    I wanted something inground next to the pool as the outdoor speakers would be difficult to mount there.  If Sonos made inground speakers then I would have jumped all over it. Anyway,  I just bought two of the outdoor speakers and a new AMP and have yet it mount them. I plan to use an Altelix enclosure to mount the AMP to the patio siding and run wires to Sonos/sonance speakers on the patio and deck.  I haven’t bought a third set of speakers yet before I can get this cleared it. Hello: I am purchasing a new construction home that has an extensive amount of wiring for smart home capabilities without any existing equipment. There are 48 in-ceiling speaker holes with audio wire ran to the tech room. I have purchased all Sonos products for my previous homes, and love the product, but I haven’t had a need for this many speakers in a home.     1). I have read you can have 32 Sonos products in one system.  Will there be any performance issues for connecting 48 speakers to 24 amps on 1 system in a 10k square foot home?  The speakers will all be wired to one place, and all of the AMPs will be located in the tech room.  I also planned on using Playbars for 4 TVs, which would put me at 29 connected products.   2). Is it possible to connect more than 2 speakers to 1 amp?  The living room, for example, has 4 in-ceiling speakers.   Thank you!

Just would like to know if I can enjoy sound from my SONOS system with a Bluetooth headphones by connecting a Bluetooth transmitter like Sennheiser BT-T100 (with digital input) with SONOS Port’s digital out?

I am trying to replace my Connect Gen1 with a Gen2. (I do not want the Connect amp, just the Connect) Looking through the used offers on a auction site, none of them say Gen1 or Gen2. How can I tell its a Gen2 ? Would the serial number help ?

Hello, I am considering getting the Sonos amp for a pair of Revel M106 speakers and a sub (Rythmik or SVS). I have seen a few threads on the Sonos amp subwoofer out not getting subwoofers loud enough. -Could Sonos provide the voltage output of the subwoofer out on the Sonos Amp? This would be helpful so we could know if it is a high enough level to drive the amps in non-Sonos subwoofers. -For someone that owns a Sonos Amp, play a test tone with the subwoofer out set to on and put a volt meter on it so we know? I really would like to order it but am unsure if it has enough signal level for these 2 subs. Thanks

I have a Port running through a Yamaha As 801 integrated. My speakers are Totem. I stream only Tidal. When I first connected the Port, I was enthused at all the available music. However, the more I listened, the less enthused I was about the sound quality...seemed dull, with no detail. Just for the heck of it, I streamed  a Mark Knopfler cut through the Port and then played same cut (same album) through from a cd through my CDP…..the CD was noticeably better. Any thoughts or similar experiences?    

Hello Folks, First off, my Sonos has changed my life across the board.  I cannot say enough good things about it. 10 yrs ago I purchased a Yamaha RX-V671.  Solid piece of gear although a little long in the tooth.  It came with Pandora burned into the system (along with Sirrus).  I subscribed to Pandora and was able to use the  “Line-in” feature of the Sonos.  I can successfully use the RX-V671 to output Pandora to my Sonos. This past Christmas, my son convinced me to ditch Pandora and go with Spotify.  With this whole pandemic, “shelter in place” thing going on, I am slowly working through my “honey-do” list. Today I tried every configuration I could muster for the Internet to try and output the Sonos CONNECT into the Yamaha RX-V671 so I could play Spotify in my living room.  I tried bothe optical and analog (RCA jacks).  I double checked the RCA cables with a continuity meter.  Lines are clean.  I tried using Audio 1, Audio 2 as well as the audio inputs that have an analog video conne
