Michell Gyrodec and New Sonos 125 amp . Partnership made in heaven. Anyone else done this or am I the first ?

Can someone please direct me to where I can find what the differences (spec / performance) are between the Gen 1 & 2 versions of the connect amp? I am looking to buy a couple of amps for some ceiling speakers (kitchen and dining room) - I’m hoping that connect amps will be sufficient. I’ve looked on line but can’t find what actually changed in the Gen 2. Thanks in advance. 

hi everyone I need a help with sonos zp 90When connected to the receiver by RCA and volume to the maximum, can just hear very quiet sound.Anybody knows what's the problem please? thanks

I’ve just purchased a Sonos Port as I’m hoping to connect my turntable and passive speakers to my Gen 3 sub (Sub also linked with arc soundbar)   My current setup is as follows…Turntable (built in pre amp)Amplifier Two passive speakers  Can anyone tell me if ilI be able to get the sub to play with my current bookshelf speakers without the arc playing too?Thanks in advance     

I have 4 Sonos amps in a central location for 4 different rooms (zones). I have ceiling speakers (2 each) for each zone/room. How can I connect my TVs to these amps? Do I need to run a long HDMI-ARC cable for each TV to the amp or is there another option? Please help. I am clueless and reading available information online is confusing.  Someone suggests getting an HDMI extension and a receiver and run a cat 5 cable. I have cat 8 ethernet cable. I did not know you can run audio through this cable line.

Dear community,I’ve been trying this setup.Turntable via Line out (pre-amplified signal) via Sonos Port.Sonos Port connect with RCA cable to each BEOLAB 6000, speakers set on line.So far I have truly enjoyed what I've heard but I have a nagging issue. The vocals in all the records I've listed too just don't sound "right". The music is clear and the highs are especially pronounced, but the vocals are always subdued, sometimes sounding distant, almost in the background or sometimes slightly distorted. Same thing with an old and a new vinyl. I'm sure it has something to do with my turntable set-up process since this is my first time, so I'm hoping I can get some suggestions.Many thanks for your support.Regards.

Hi,I am using a Sonos Connect with my studio monitors.I would like to buy a Neumann KH750 subwoofer and connect directly the digital output of the Connect to the KH750 digital input.I read that :“The KH 750 DSP subwoofer only supports non-encoded AES3 and S/P-DIF signals. Encoded signals such as MP3, DTS or Dolby Digital are not supported.”I would like to know if Spotify + Connect will work ?Thanks for your help ! 

I’m thinking of buying a used Sonos Connect to hook up to my existing Yamaha receiver.I want to be able to “see” the Sonos Connect from my Sonos app on my iPhone / iPad.I’m reading some stuff online that would see to say the app does not work with the Sonos Connect.Surely that can’t be right.

Hi all, i have a small room with a projector and a sonos amp up from driving two b&w cwm650’si also have a b&w 610 sub attached. I then have a sonos connect amp g2 with 2x cwm650s as reads. it sounds pretty good if I’m honest but would it sound much better if I ditched the front cwm650s in exchange for some sonos architectural in walls and the trueplayed it? would it be a massive change? Would be interested to hear.

I’m using a speakercraft multrppm amp along with a connect and bridge. My bridge has stopped working, completely dead. When I try to locate my Sonos system it can’t locate it. It’s an old connect, do I need to replace and if so with what? I know I will eventually have to replace the speakercraft amp (11 years old) so is there something I can use now that will be compatible with current setup and then be used with possibly the Sonos AMP, whenever I eventually have to replace the Speakercraft AMP? Thanks 

I have connected the turntable to the Connect:Amp but can't seem to get this to work. I have two Sonos One’s connected to the Connect:Amp. Please could anyone help? Thanks

I have four Play 1s, working in stereo, in 2 rooms. I also have 80s vintage Onlyo TX-840 amp that powers a phono, a CD player, and two sets of hard wired speakers in 2 different rooms. I got a Port and have lined it into the Onkyo, and can now get Sonos content in all 4 rooms. But how do I line the stereo into the Port so I can listen to records and CDs in all four rooms? I get that I could line either the CD player or the phono into the port, but how do I do both? Do I need to get a splitter or something and run cables from the CD and Phono, to the splitter, to the Port and then into the Onkyo amp? 

Hello,I own a connect amp and recently have gotten a turntable. However from my understanding the connect amp does not provide a grounding screw. Is there any where else I may connect the grounding wire?Thanks for the help! 

Hi, can anyone advise the size of the banana plugs (pins) for the Sonos amp? 4mm or 2mm? Thank you. 

W/apologies beforehand for the obv question: I have successfully added the PORT to my existing network and connected my KEFs to it through RCA cables. This works.What is the advantage of connecting the PORT through its Digital Out to the KEF’s optical jack? I know I would have to buy a spdif coaxial to optical converter, which is not a big deal--I’m just wondering what benefits derive as a result of doing that?

Was getting crackling sound while connecting my SONOS connect to the amplifier using RCA cables. Changed the cable to Optical wire, now no hissing or static sound. DIY solution!

Hello, I will start by saying I do not have Sonos right now.  I am in the process of building a new house and am thinking of installing a Sonos system.  I have, for some reason, had the hardest time wrapping my head around the system.  I think my main issue is with wired speakers and how it works within the Sonos world.  My wife wants speakers hidden in the walls/ceiling as well as outside.  I now realize that I need the AMP to have wired speakers.  My question is, do I need anything else?  I mean if I want to stream music from Pandora and I want it to play on a Sonos speaker as well as the wired outdoor speakers do the AMPS connect to the other Sonos speakers in the house?  Someone told me I still need a receiver?  Also, if I have the new ARC connected direct to my TV via earc HDMI will the arc connect with outdoor speakers connected to the AMP.   

The brand new Sonos Port has inferior connectivity compared to the old Connect.It’s beyond me why you have removed the Toslink / Optical out from an integration product?What I’ve heard, though, is that it’s because this product is normally used by “integrators” - i.e. pro installers - and they can customize coax cables on site.To that I can only say:Pro installers aside, this is just no reason to not supply the Toslink side-by-side the coax as was the case in the Connect product in case a home user is installing the product - or an installer for that matter - finding the Toslink a better choice for some odd reason. A Toslink output path really can’t cost much more than next to nothing and certainly not taking the price of the product into account.I have a pair of very nice active Dynaudio Xeo speakers with only Toslink in (well RCA too, but don’t want to use that).If I want to use the Port, I am left with the choice of either using the analogue RCA - completely forgoing the reason I bo

I bought 2 Sonos AMPS & set up a network when we moved to this house w/2 sets of built-in speakers, and that part works well.Our legacy system is a Denon CD player and Rega RP3 turntable that had been connected to a now-discarded amp, which had been wired to KEF Ls50 wireless speakers. So, I bought a Sonos PORT and connected it to the CD player and added it to the network. So far, so good.I then bought a Music Hall Mini preamp (supporting MM cartridges) and inserted it between the turntable and a used Sonos CONNECT (Gen 2) I just bought as well. I successfully reset and added the CONNECT to our network, but no sound emanates from the turntable, nor does it when I plug it into the PORT.Which leads me to believe I have a preamp/turntable issue (preamp was $99 from Crutchfields), but perhaps I am missing something w/regard to the network. Any suggestions welcome.

I bought a Sonos Amp, really should’ve bought a Port for what my intended setup.  I am not even sure what I can use the Amp for since there is no audio out.  Probably going to just have to sell it.  Right now I have a connect for my in celling speakers, I guess I could use the amp for a couple of those.

Are the Sonos in ceiling speakers airtight?I’m  doing a new build and any intrusions in the ceiling including speakers need to be airtight. I have sourced sealed LED down lights no problem but are the Sonos ceiling speakers sealed?This is to prevent heated air escaping into the roof void. Thanks

I bought 2 Sonos Amps recently when we moved to a new house with 2 sets of built-in speakers. Then I bought a Port that is now connected to a CD player and a pair of KEF LS50 wireless speakers. All of that works, but I want to also connect our turntable (with no preamp) and the two Amps are not close, owing to the location of the wires for the built-in speakers. Do I need to buy yet another Amp for the turntable, or could I find a used 2nd Gen Connect:Amp to connect to the turntable? I know it wouldn’t be compatible w/Airplay 2, but as long as the Connect:Amp gets the turntable on the network, wouldn’t that work?

Hello All,I’ve a Connect running happily for a few years, but over the past week or so, it has been dropping off the Sonos network. If I reboot it it works for a while and then drops off again, in at most, a day. This Connect is wireless. The rest of my setup is perfectly fine. Any ideas?Thanks,Ian
