Can the Sonos App “see” the Sonos Connect device?

I’m thinking of buying a used Sonos Connect to hook up to my existing Yamaha receiver.

I want to be able to “see” the Sonos Connect from my Sonos app on my iPhone / iPad.

I’m reading some stuff online that would see to say the app does not work with the Sonos Connect.

Surely that can’t be right.

Just make sure the Connect is gen. 2, if you want it to run in the S2 app. Connect gen. 1 is only compatible with S1 app.

You’re correct, that would be odd. The CONNECT device would show up as another ‘room’ in the controller, so that you could play any stream on it, and have that stream go out through the RCA cables to whatever device is connected to it.
