I currently have 4 Sonos speakers (Three Play 1’s and One Play 1) connected. I want to buy two more One SL’s and connect them all for TV audio using the Sonos Beam sound bar. Using the S2 app, can I use all the speakers for tv audio using the Beam connected to the TV via HDMI or is the Beam limited to only two surround speakers? I want to use the S2 app to control all the speakers for tv audio just like I do with Tidal for music. 

Hiya, I have a Denon turntable with built in pre amp connected to my play 5 and the sound when connected to the TT is awful and crackly. It also varies between different vinyl records. I have fiddled with the weights on the tone arm. I’ve made sure the pre amp is turned on. And the sound is compressed. What else can I do to get rid of the crackling/ buzz?  thanks 

Unfortunately my Playbase got short circuit because some ants inside it.Can somebody tell me how to fix the power supply main board or where can I get the main board replacement and how much.Thanks 

Well I’ve spent my entire Saturday trying to add a Roam to my system. I was using the S1 app because I have an older Sonos5. I don’t want to upgrade my 5 because it still works beautifully for sound. So I removed the 5 and then opened a new account on the new APP. I tried signing in with my existing account but it didn’t recognize my password which made me think I should leave my old account as is, and I’ll use that as the APP for my 5. I signed out of S1 and tried signing into the new APP. Of course my password didn’t work so I hit the Change Password link and it asked for my email. It said it sent an email to change password. Nothing in email. Try again. Nothing I’m email. I went to the old S1 App and hit the change password link. I got an email with password change link. Change password. Go to the new APP to log in. Doesn’t recognize password. So I go through this about six times and bottom line is, I can’t log in to new APP. I GIVE UP! What a waste of a day and I still can’t get th

I just got a Pro-Ject Phono Box DC preamp to go with my Amp + Pioneer PL-50 setup. Plugged in the Phono Box, dropped the needle, Autoplay worked, and it sounded great. No issues there.Annoyingly, after I stopped the the record, Autoplay didn’t turn off. It’s been 40min and the Amp still hasn’t automatically turned it off. I believe I understand that Autoplay is based on a voltage from the record player/preamp which sends a signal to the Amp, so I guess that signal hasn’t stopped, probably because the Phono Box doesn’t have an on/off switch. Is this just the way it is with a phono preamp that stays ‘on’ all the time? Will I have to get a phono preamp with an on/off switch if I want Autoplay to turn off?TV Autoplay isn’t turned on, by the way. Thanks!

So the idea here is to have the turntable with preamp connected to the Receiver. Then have the Sonos Port connected to the receiver as well. I want to run Zone 2 from the AV Receiver to a set of outdoor speakers. I recently purchased a AudioTechnica Turntable with a preamp. I have this setup currently directly to the turntable to run throughout the house on all the Sonos Speakers. Unfortunately I do not want to run Sonos Outdoors due to constant changing weather conditions. I want to install a set of outdoor wired speakers. This is why the AV Receiver is needed. I think I need to connect the Turntable to an input source? Connect the Port to an output Source? and Connect the speakers to the Channel outputs?  I then should be able to listen to music indoors and outdoors at the same time using and second zone for the hardwired speakers outdoors connected to the Receiver? Sorry this is long winded. Looking for confirmation or a correct method of connecting all this. Thanks in advance.Mark

I’d like to use my existing 9.2.6 theater setup for music via the Sonos app. Can I use the PORT “without” an input device connected (tape deck, record player, etc) as access to play music through (existing) receiver (RCA input connections)? TIA Rob  

My system is comprised of: a Connect; 4 Ones; a 3; and a Move. The system is "wired" with only the Connect connected with ethernet.  My household has accounts with Apple, Spotify, Pandora, and Tidal playing through Sonos.  Tidal is the primary service I personally use. I've read historical threads in this forum that Tidal lossless files "need a more solid wireless connection" otherwise song skipping and a 'connection to tidal was lost' error message may occur. I have been receiving these errors recently and it finally dawned on me that these errors did not happen until I got the Move. Could it be that my "wired" Sonos mesh network is solid, but including the Move in the same speaker group is causing the errors because the Move's Wi-Fi connection is not so solid? Anecdotally, this seems to be the case as I've had successful Tidal listening sessions with the Move left out of the speaker group, but this is not proof. I am hoping to get a definitive, technical answer. Thank you.

I am very interested in purchasing a Brennan B2, however before committing I would like to ask those who have the knowledge on this forum will it work with older Sonos equipment?I have the following kit -3 x Play 3 speakers, 1 x Connect and a CR200 controller. I have the Sonos S1 app on a smartphone and PC.Many thanks 

Dear Forum,i have 2 Beams in my house, 1 wants to connect to muic being shared to it, [just about] 1 doesnt.Beam 1 is on the same TV as an Apple TV and appears to want to use the ATV to have music shared to it as the Beam itself wont. So i share to the ATV which pops up. Is this normal and why wont my Beam take the music directly?Beam 2 will play music from the Sonos App but not from Apple Music app and shared to it?

Hi all. I’m looking for some help, thanks in advance.We have 2x play 1’s, playbar, & a 3rd gen sub in our lounge, we use this for Spotify & tv, but I mainly use them for playing records on a Rega P6 via a Sonos port. I have a pair of Sony WH-1000xm4’s which I would like to connect to the port, via a Bluetooth transmitter. could anyone recommend what I need to get? (I may consider a headphone amp, if that’s the best route)Cheers Ratty

I’m a new user of Sonos and purchased a Port to add to my analog amplifier and old speakers, enjoying Apple Music without computer apparently all right.  It’s just great! But I started to wonder, if I connect my existing (external) DAC to Sonos Port via RCA LINE-IN, does it mean the music signal (from computer) goes through DAC twice (external AND internal), of the internal DAC of Port is automatically by-pathed?  I wanted to make sure, before I buy a NAS and move all the music file in my Mac to it and connect it to the router via Ethernet,

Hello. I am posting this here since Sonos prevents comments on older threads.  Anyway, I am trying to determine what the official ohm range of the Sonos AMP is. I’m assuming it is 4-8 ohms or 250 watts at 4 ohm and 125 watts at 8 ohm. If this is the case, what I’m not understanding is how Sonos recommends wiring 6 speakers in parallel (when using their architectural speakers). Aren't these 8 ohm speakers? Wouldn’t a total of 6 speakers wired in parallel create a system that is only 2.6 ohms? I have two Gen 3 speakers I use as stereo in my LR. I’m getting a new TV and wondered if I purchase a Beam sound bar for the TV will I be able to use it to pay music along with the other speakers for a fuller sound. Will they all sync?  Other suggestions?

Hi all, I have a turntable that has no phono preamp. I think that rules out the Sonos port, will a Sonos amp do the work? Or it it overkill to just buy it to play my old LP’s? I have a lot of Sonos speakers all over my house and I’d love to play my records on them and listen to them from everywhere.  What’s the best solution you guys think?  Thanks in advance,Vincent Belgium, Antwerp. 

Using LG Oled and AppleTV - I replaced Sonos Beam with two Play 5 gen 2 white speakers and Sub as room 2.  I added Sonos Port as Room 1. Using HDMI 2 ARC , the Oled Audio is fed to an HDMI to analog converter that uses rca to send the LG sound to the Port line in. Set up was easy and I use Port as room1 then add stereo paired room 2. Music apps sound amazing ! Controlling volume and mute with Apple TV remote works perfectly. Opening the Sonos App and adding rooms / changing volume etc works the same as with the Beam. Using the App I can visually see and hear the volume changes as I make them. When using the Apple TV remote to change volume … change is heard but the Sonos App volume sliders remain in place. Sonos Port line in volume changes are not displayed in Sonos App. Also I first tried a Sonos Connect but it is not supported in the current Sonos App. 

Setting up a large room 25’ x 50’. 85” TV monitor at one end 25’ wide. Ceilings are 16’. Considering:ARC Sub G32 Fives on either side of TV2 One SLs as rear surroundsThe Fives are mainly for music, but would like to use with TV and ARC if possible. Want the Sub to work at all times. Will this set up work for a large room? Would a second Sub make sense in such a large space? 

Hi. How and what is the best way to connect Sonos Connect to an A/V Processor ? Do I need to use TOSLINK® optical audio cable or a digital coaxial cable ? How to use the Processor’s DAC  ( Not the Sonos ) to hear best Audio as my Processor is preferred.  I am adding my A/V Back panel , Don't know where to connect the cables.  Thank you.  

I am redoing my garage and have an HD Projector mounted in the ceiling, sent to a 110” screen.  Previously, I had hard wired speakers through my AVR, playing content from my FireCube.  I purchased a new port and 2 new SL1s so that I could get rid of ALL the speaker cables for my 7.1 Setup.  I know im sacrificing surround sound capability for ease, but I’m OK with that.  I just can’t get sound to play through my new speakers.  Any suggestions? Current setup:HDMI OUT of Fire Cube toHDMI IN - Sony AVR Video Mono Audio OUT to Sonos Port In. Help!>!?! Thank you! SCarolina Man 

Hi all!I’m about to dive in the Sonos ecosystem and buy the Arc + Sub Gen3 + Ones or Ones SL for surround satellites.Yet, I have one thing that keeps echoing in my head and gets me a bit reluctant: how well does that glossy finish of the Sub Gen 3 holds up with time?Being the sub a speaker that’s on the ground, it is prone to get hit in various situations, like when vacuuming the room, or other daily situations.I fear the glossy finish turns into a nightmare of scratches that would ruin the looks of it.How well does is cope with this?I deeply appreciate your inputs.

Hello all,I’m looking to improve the sound in my golf simulator room by using some of my spare Sonos play 1 speakers which I was hoping to link to my Denon 3700H AVR. I would be obliged if someone could take a look at the connections on the back of the AVR and advise whether this can be connected to a Sonos Port or similar and indeed how I would do so? Many thanks in advance. 

I apologize if this has been asked before, but this whole process has completely thrown me for a loop!  I was originally planning on setting up the Sonos Amp with 4 TIC B03 speakers and One TIC B55 amp, similar to the way that the Patio 4.1 system is configured.  I researched far and wide, bought the amp and 250 feet of 12AWG/4 OFC wire, and thought this was a viable combination.  Then when it came time to order the speakers, I went to re-calculate the Ohms and make sure I was buying something I could actually use, and now I am not so sure anymore.  Does anyone know whether this will work?  How do I wire the sub in w/out dropping below the 4 Ohm limit?  How does it work with the Patio 4.1 system when everything is 8 Ohms?  Do I run the + from one channel to the sub and the - from the other one?  Do either of the options in the attachments actually work without burning out the speakers and/or the amp?   

With most of my speakers, the Sonos Amp has a nice flat frequency response, just a little rolled off after 15KHz which I can’t hear anyway. But some speakers can cause peaking in the frequency response (typical problem with Class D without post filter feedback). I think it happens with the Sonos Amp when speakers have a negative phase at high frequency. At least that is the difference I have with this problematic speaker (Carmody Overnight Sensations). Here is the frequency response (voltage measurement at amp’s speaker terminals). This might be why some people have reported that the amp sounds bright. I never really thought so even with these speakers, but still I would like to be able smooth out the peak with EQ, and the existing treble control doesn’t do so well. Please, please, you can give this to us!edit: oops, previously I showed a curve that was generated after treble was turned one notch down.

Hello, I’ve done some searching and just wanted validate if I’m correct in my thinking.  We are doing a full reno and I’m looking to put Sonos In-Ceiling into our main floor. I was curious on the following: I understand that I can put 6 Architect speakers connected to ONE Sonos AMP.  I know that those 3 pairs/6 speakers can only play ONE source of music.  With this setup, however, can I independently control the volume to different zones?  For context.  I have an open concept first floor.  I wanted to put one pair in the kitchen, one pair in the living room and one pair in the dining room ceilings.  I’m trying to figure out how I can (Most cost effectively) control those 3 rooms volume independently...ideally from the app, like I do my Sonos 1’s. I’m ok with the fact I can only play one source of music from this setup.It seems like I can’t control volume independently between the 3 pairs without installing a analog dial on the wall.  I’m hoping I’m wrong.     Thank you in advance.  

Sonos offers some great architectural speakers.Sonos should also offer a wall-mounting 'Amp Lite' that can drive a pair of architectural speakers.The 'Amp Lite' would be functionally similar to the current Amp, but would have less power output (to suit smaller rooms) and a lower price-point.  Does anyone else want one?
