i'm building a new house and want to use Sonos for front porch, back porch and TVs. can i install a Sonos speaker in the front porch ceiling and then connect 4 non-Sonos speakers to the one Sonos speaker?
Only need it for a speaker, not really any of the features the new ones come with. Do you think it's worth $70 bucks at this point in 2020?
Does anyone have an opinion on why I should upgrade my current Play:5 (Gen 2) speakers to the current Sonos Five?
I would like to buy two Sonos Play:1 white speakers
First, what is NAS? Should I buy NAS or another external drive? I am currently using my music library on my Mac which is 11 years old.Latelyu II’ve been having issues with Sonos not able to see my Library (on my Mac). Or it wont update the most recent music I’ve added to my Mac Music Library. I currently have 2 external drive hooked to the Mac. 500G and 1TB. I am about to purchase a PC. Yes I am going back to a PC instead of buying another Mac. I only use the computer for photos & music (to play on my Sonos). So I dont need to spend the $$$ on a new Mac. PC should be okay for photos and music. So when I get my new PC (iBuyPower PC) I want to buy a 3 or 4TB external drive (for music/photos). Can I have Sonos play my music files from both PC and external drive or NAS?
Hey guys does anybody have a Sonos optical adaptor they don’t need ? Or sell ? I’m in need of one so my Xbox series x will play sound through my Sonos sound system , unfortunately the new Xbox have got rid of the optical connections , can anyone help me please
I have a single Port that I use to listen to either a CD player or vinyl LP turn table. Right now I need to switch the input feeds to whichever device I want to listen to. Is there a Sonos compatible switch box I can purchase?
Hi all, I’ve had an apple time capsule which has my sonos music library on. It’s connected to all my sonos system via boast, works like a dream. im looking to replace the TC as its 10 years old. What should I replace it with to keep all the same functionality I currently have?sonos is set up via TC’s own WiFi and not my ISP routerMany thanks
I am looking for guidance on how to connect my 1byone Turntable to my Sonos 5.1 system. My sonos consist of 2 Sonos One SLs, One Beam, One 3rd Gen Sub. Here is a link to the vinyl player: https://1byone.com/1byone-bluetooth-turntable-hi-fi-system-with-36-watt-bookshelf-speakers-vinyl-record-player-with-magnetic-cartridge.htmlThe turntable comes with 2, 18W passive bookshelf speakers that I would like to keep (they look pretty). It also has an AUX output (RCA) is on the back of the turntable as well. What would be the best way to connect this to my sonos system with keeping the two bookshelf speakers? Amp or Port?
I recently moved into a new house and want to start building out a Sonos sound system. I just bought a Sonos Port to hook up to a Samsung soundbar and subwoofer setup I already have so I can use them as speakers in the eventual sound system. In another part of the house, I also have a turntable with a line out, line in, and internal speakers that I want to be able to use with Sonos, too.Do I need to buy a second Port the turntable, or is there a cheaper way to plug it into the Sonos system? Buying a second $450 device just to plug another non-Sonos device into the system seems excessive.Ideally, there’d be a cheap solution that just plugged into my turntable and sent the signal directly to the Sonos app, which could then send the signal to whatever zone I wanted it to play in, but I don’t see anything else capable of doing this besides the Port. The only workaround I’ve thought of is finding a Bluetooth device that plugs into the line out and connects to Sonos, but that seems too complic
I need to position my Boost further away from the current power socket. Has anyone found an extension cable or longer power supply for a Sonos Boost please? I have tried the usual Amazon/EBay searches but not yet found anything suitable?
Hi everybodyi’m new to sonos community as 2 months ago i bought a couple of new Fives, used a stereo pair. a couple of days ago I noticed that some mp3s quality (files downloaded with the code that comes with a vinyl) is incredibily better (to my ear at least) than the music coming from Tidal of Qobuz (in hifi mode). is that something that happens to me only? thanksLorenzo
I realize this is not likely a great question, but I’m wondering if anyone has some input or experience they’d share before I buy some speakers for an outside deck, about 500 square feet. Basically, would it be a better purchase be to get 3 Moves to cover that space, or 2 Moves and 1 Five to cover the deck? Just wondering if the one Five will provide a range that a third Move wouldn't and would improve the overall sound. thank you - Dan
I am going back and forth on which option will work better for my needs and looking for input/advice.The previous owner of our house installed 4 Yamaha NS-IW280C speakers in the ceiling on the main floor. There are 2 behind the couch that faces the TV, one in the kitchen and another in the dining room. I’ve never used these so I cant comment on the sound quality. In an effort to improve the sound on our main floor I’ve been debating buying an Amp to power the Yamaha’s for WHA vs. picking up a Beam to beef up the audio quality from the TV as well as for regular music listening.Given that the Yamaha’s are slightly behind me in the ceiling when watching TV I would expect that even with the phantom center channel from the Amp, I wouldn’t benefit much from this setup for TV watching. At the same time I’m wondering how the Beam would compare to the Yamaha’s + Amp when it comes to listening to music. It also drives me mental knowing that we have nice speakers in the ceiling that aren’t being use
Hi all! I currently use a Sonos Playbar and sub with my tv and for most of my listening. I also have a NAD 372C integrated amp with ADS L300c speakers and a Definitive Technology sub. This was my main system in my house when I lived in NY. I also had Polk 12 speakers connected to it in my main listening room. But, I only have the ADS bookshelf speakers here and compared to the way they sounded in NY, it can’t compare and I realize it’s because of the room acoustics. I rarely sit down and critically listen to music these days even though I am a musician and former band director, So, I hardly ever listen to the NAD system, but rely mainly on the Sonos system. I know that there could be a time when I want to just listen and the Sonos Playbar doesn’t have the clarity of sound in all ranges that i’m really used to. I’m wondering if I can get comparable sound results if I replaced the NAD amp with the Sonos Amp? Then I could have 1 system for everything. Thanks!
Hi, I have a play 1 and a play bar. If I buy one of the turntables off the Sonos website, will I be able to connect it and play it off the two speakers I own?thanks
I have an Audio Technica AT-LP60 with RCA cables that I want to setup with a Sonos system. I have the playbar but don’t believe that is an option. If not, what speaker should I purchase? Is there a Sonos system that can be connected with the RCA cables?
hello,I would like to hook a turntable up, but I do no have the right sonos product. But I do still like my sonos play base and my sonos 1. The Play Base does not have line-in. is their any way I can do this? I heard about products like a Deltaco HDMI Switch Premium. My Play Base is also connected to the TV. Hello I am looking for the dimensions of the disc present at the end of the sonos arc power cable? thank you for your help
Hello! New user here. I’d like to connect my turntable to my Sonos system. Can I use the Sonos Five to stream my turntable to my other speakers? I don’t need the output features of the Port so it seems like I’d be better off getting an extra speaker than the Port. Am I missing something?
I have a 2019 Samsung Q70R and am wondering about sound quality if I got a Sonos Arc. Apparently my tv does not have eARC. I currently run a Comcast cable tv + Apple TV + Oppo BluRay player through a Yamaha receiver. I’m trying to minimize things with a move to a soundbar. So, looks like I would get 2-channel stereo from DTS BluRay discs from my Oppo, since the Arc cannot decode DTS, right? As to my cable box and Apple TV box, since streaming is mostly or all Dolby Digital, would I get full Dolby via the Arc? But, lose Atmos? Thanks
I’ve had a Bridge for 5 years and not had a single issue with our system. We have a Playbar, Sub, 5 x Play:1, 1 x Play:3, 1 x Play:5. I see the Bridge is now ‘legacy’. Would the community recommend I replace the Bridge with Boost? Only, I see some have had issues once they’ve moved to a Boost despite never having an issue whilst on the Bridge. Many thanks in anticipation for any advice offered.
I’m Eligible for the upgrade 30% discount on the upgrade program, but the full surround sound set has stock all sold out, that I want. How long does it keep my 30% discount on the sonos website, as I don't want to purchase the items separately, I’m happy to wait for the stock to show again. Also I’m eligible for two product upgrades, does mean I can order the full surround sound set and say a pair of play 5. Thank you for help Andrew
What should I get for my new debt patio and fire pit area to connect to my projector and karaoke machine? I'm up for putting in a whole sound system so everyone can watch our outdoor movie theater I just don't know what to get to make it work.
I had a SONOS home theatre bundle in the family room since 2018. We just did some remodeling and moved the SONOS PlayBar (PBAR1US1) and subwoofer to our game room, and now need to replace the FR soundbar. Our TV is a Sony XBR75X900F. Our cable provider and wi-fi modem is Verizon FIOS, and pretty much everything is controlled through our FIOS remote (see below). We also have a ROKU box.Questions:Should I replace the soundbar with the Beam? Will it be compatible with the SONY TV?Will I be able to control the audio with the FIOS remote or will I need to get yet another controller?
