What to get

I am considering purchasing a Brennan B2 as a CD Player and CD collection storage device. I understand that I can link the 2 via my wireless network and use the B2 as my 'music library'. I have a ConnectAmp that currently feeds to external speakers in the main room with a Play5 in another room. I currently use an iPod as my music library but want to get back to CD listening and uncompressed...Can I physically connect the B2 to the ConnectAmp and if so what is the +/- difference to using the B2 solely as wireless connected NAS / Music Library?

I am a hospital chaplain and our team has refurbished our interfaith prayer chapel. We added a sonos play 1 speaker to stream soothing music to create a relaxing environment. We used a very inexpensive tablet as a controller that we kept in our office. I think we just need to upgrade to a better quality controller. We need a dedicated controller that runs off AC. Would an inexpensive laptop allowing for different streaming options be a reasonable choice? Any suggestions?

Hi guys I'm fairly new to Sonos. Only nought my first Sonos One 2 weeks ago to give it a try with Alexa. I bought this together with 2 Echo speakers from Amazon. I like the One speaker although I still think an Echo understands you better for now than the One speaker when it comes to Alexa. Nevertheless the sound is of course way better on the One. I'm thinking of buying a second speaker for 2 reasons. 1) Echo doesn't (unless I do something wrong) pair them together to play Spotify premium on multiple devices at once. Sonos should 2) Not a fan of the sound of the echo' s. I'm now doubting to either buy a second one and put them in a stereo in the living room, placing our echo to the bedroom or placing the one to the bedroom and buying a Play5 for the living room (connecting a echo dot to it for Alexa control) . Both options I think would also have the possibility to play music over both speakers in different rooms together or play a different track if needed. What wo

What external Storage Device works best. Historically i had a tower computer which held all my record collections on. I left this switched on constantly so my SONOS linked to and I could play my collection. I have now changed to a Laptop that I switch off so Sonos can't always link to it. What do other people use as an external Storage Device.

I am purchasing my first Sonos system and I am totally lost. Nobody agrees on what I should buy so here are the options: Playbar and 2 Play 3s 2 Play 3s and a SUB 2 Play 1s and a SUB or Play 5s and no SuB I am not a TV addict but I like nice sound and love to listen my music pretty loud but mostly only medium. Probably would not move them around My room is about 800sq ft What should I get??

Due to room configuration and size, is it possible to have 2 subs work together with 1 soundbar for television viewing? Thank you, Troy

Hi, looking to purchase either the playbar or playbase. Leaning toward playbar as my TV is hung higher above a cabinet. I'd rather just set it on the cabinet and not hang, but concerned from an article (below) that sound is not optimal if just set down an not hung. Here’s our current set-up: Denon Receiver L & R, Center, Sub Turntable (built-in pre-amp) Music server filled with a zillion digital songs (we used to use a Slimdevice Squeezebox with our music server, but that recently stopped working after a decade) What we’d like to do: Use some version of the Sonos system to play digital music through L/R speakers plus through two other Sonos speakers in two adjacent rooms (3s or 1s, yet to be purchased). Play turntable through L/R + Sonos speakers. Not have to use house wifi if at all possible. What would you recommend we purchase to achieve this, and how would these components need to be connected?

I wonder if anyone has experience with both stands in regards to stability and quality? I just installed a pair of Sanus stands for my new ONE speakers in my 5.1 Sonos system. They seem stable and of high quality and I was impressed with their customer service. My dealer was supposed to send my two Play 1 speakers with the 5.1 system and hence i ordered a pair of Play 1 Sanus stands. Unfortunately, they are incompatible in that the ONE does not have the screw fitting on the rear as does the Play 1. Without hesitation, they sent me a pair of adaptors at no cost to me. Impressive! Having said that, the base on the Sanus stand for the 5 seems a bit small in comparison to the base of the Flexson. Trying to decide which pair to order and any guidance would be appreciated. I see there on the Sonos site, they sell only the Flexson model.

Without a bridge do you need a speaker connected to the Router at all times. I have had a bridge for a few years and just got 2 new sonos 1's . I already have a 5 and wondered if I can disconnect the bridge and use the speakers without the speaker being wired in to the router. All my speaker positions are not near the router so can't be plug in.

Hi! I'm planning to mount all my home's sound based on Sonos. I have 4 pairs of Polk RC80i distributed along the house, all of them connected by wires to a central place at the house. I have one TV at this place and one TV distant and both TVs should be connected to 2 pairs of these speakers each. As far as I understood I'd need following Sonos structure to connect everything: - one TV could be connected directly to the sonos:amp by wire. These amp would connect to two pairs of the speakers, including the pair that will serve as sound to the TV - the other TV would connect to a sonos connect, which would connect itself wireless to another sonos:amp, which would connect to the other 2 pairs of speakers - besides that, I'd need one playbase and one sub for each TV. Could you please check if that's right? Can I replace the Sonos Connect in the second TV for the playbase? Does it connect wirelessly to the Sonos:amp? Thanks in advance!

I'm getting a new TV within a week or two and I plan on getting a full Sonos system. (Sub, Playbar, 2x Play One, 2x Play: 5). I want a system that that will excel at both music and movies, meaning surround AND strong stereo speakers. I guess that I assumed that Play:5's could be paired with the Playbar as front L and R (why on earth isn't that the case?) - and I almost gave up, until I saw that you could just make them a new "room" and output the same sound as the Playbar receives from the TV - and this could be the solution for me... The question is though, will this be synced well enough or will it sound horrible, and how will the Play:5's act, when not paired directly with the SUB? (since I guess the SUB can't be paired to both groups, right?) Are there any possibilities I'm missing?

I'm planning a bar and want to setup a 5.1 system with a Playbar, Sub and either Play 1 or Play 3 rear speakers. The room is about 14x17 feet with 3 walls (back wall open). I plan to watch sports and play music, but nothing obscenely loud. I'm wondering if the Play 3 will provide any additional benefit(s) from the Play 1 as rear speakers in this system? Is there an additional bass boost with the 3's? Any opinions would be appreciated. TIA

Hello, I am currently looking to add to my Sonos setup and I'm not sure what speaker to go for. Currently I have a Play:3 in my living room, a Play:1 in my Kitchen and a Play:1 in my bedroom. I am considering getting a new Play:3 to setup as a stern pair in my living room. Alternatively, I am wondering if it would make more sense to buy a Playbar or Playbase to replace the Play:3 in the living room. What would people recommend? How would a Playbar or Playbase sound compared to 2 Play:3s setup in a stereo pair? Thanks

My current home theater set up consist of; An dual zone AV receiver bose acoustimass 6 For 5.1 surround. I need steroids audio for a second rooms tv My understanding is I can hook up the CONNECT to my AV receiver then get to play 3 speakers set up as stereo for the other room Will that work?

Currently have the Sonos one and the mic sensitivity is lacking so I'm thinking to upgrade to echo dot + (2) play 1 or (1) play3. Questions: are the drivers in the play1 and play3 the same? I'm trying to fill the sound in a large kitchen, could someone that owns that play1 and play3 provide feedback? I don't need it to be super loud and would rather have clarity throughout the room than all the music coming from one side but I do love my bass.

I am seriously considering the purchase of a Sonos One for my daughter but have some serious concerns. I have been reading (here) about customer concerns over the mic sensitivity in the Sonos One - many, many complaints. The responses I have read is to expect software updates from Sonos to correct this in the future. The Dot is tried & true and my personal experience with it so far and its integration with my Play 3 is great. I have not read a great deal of positive responses from Sonos saying these fixes will come soon. Would love to go with the Sonos One but not certain this is the right decision. Can someone help me? Hi All, New to the boards and have had a search through and seen a couple threads that are similar to this yet non seem to answer the exact questions I've got, so thought I'd make a new thread and see if anyone could help me out. I've inherited a Gerrard turntable. 2 Monitor Audio system R352 standing speakers, along with a technics stereo integrated amplifier A6000MK2 and an ARCAM Alapha 8 AM/FM Tuner, and I just wondered what I need to connect this to my sonos network, would it be a Connect or Connect:Amp? The technology is a little old school for me that I don't really know what any of it means, very much a sonos generation of plug in connect and play, taken me a year to actually get the whole turntable system working as I was missing a phono lead for the turntable with earth spade terminals, but got that and can now finally use the system which works great, but would be even better if I could connect it to my sonos system and play the LPs through all the sonos speakers w

Hi - I currently have two Sonos Play:1 speakers and recently purchased a record player that I would like to be able to play using the Play:1's. To connect using the in-line from the record player I understand I need a Play:5, Connect or Connect:Amp. That being said, if I purchase a Play:5 and connect to the record player, would the Play:5 them be able to connect to the Play:1 speakers? Or would I need the Connect or Connect:Amp. I currently own a P1 and a P3 and I am thinking of creating a stereo pair for a medium size (social) room. Would you spend $200 or an additional P1 or $300 for an additional P3 in order to create a stereo pair in that room? Any feedback and thoughts would be appreciated!

I am purchasing an existing home and exploring audio options. The local security/audio is recommending Sonos and in their quote, had 10% over what Sonos charges on line. Is this usual ? When I inquired - it was stated that this is approved by Sonos and has to do with professional set up ( not any hard mounting etc ... but I guess it would be turning using TruePlay ). Is this normal. I am looking to add a multi room system in my house but do not know what I am doing and could use some advice on what to get. I am looking to add sound in the living room and dining room as two separate zones. This will be audio only and connected to in wall wired speakers. The wiring for those speakers goes down to the basement. At the same spot in the basement, I have the internet router. The house is supported by a mesh network and I have strong coverage throughout. To connect those speakers, I believe I need a CONNECT:AMP for each room. We mostly just listen to internet streaming like Spotify. Do I need to buy a receiver/tuner as well? What else do I need to actually play music, control volume, etc? I believe we can use an app, but I would like to have a dedicated remote in each room as well. In the kitchen, I already have a Beosound 8 which is a wireless speaker that I like very much. I would like to keep that speaker, but would prefer to control all sound in the house from on

I would like to get a floor stand for my Play:5. Where I live, I have two options, and both are basically the same price.
