What to get

Hi guys, Since music is most important to me i wonder what setup to buy. I currently own a pair of Ones which are positioned on stands quite good to fire into the living room. I wonder if i should buy a sub to make a 2.1 setup or sell the Ones and go for stereo Fives setup (or even with a sub but.. MONEY..). Since the tweeters and woofers on the Five are “positioned” for horizontal use im doubtful of the vertical use.. the side fire tweeters stop or hit the floor and ceiling and the woofers aim towards floor and ceiling a bit.. feels kinda not right.. Like its not REALLY designed for stereo/vertical use. Is there anyone who has both a stereo pair of fives / play 5 and stereo pair Ones with sub to compare? Also an Arc with the ones as surround is an option, so i have tv and music audio but i read alot of mixed feelings about the Arc, especially lacking bass. I do kinda like bass in music. Would anyone consider using an Arc for music ? Or how about a full surround setup for music a

I tend to try and do as much online research as I can before a big purchase.  I’m at the point where my head is about to spin.  I’m looking for a great quality speaker that I can use inside the house, but I would also like to use in the outside unattached garage from time to time.  I don’t mind a heavy bulky unit either, as it will really be just between a particular room, and like I stated the garage.I was first set on the Move for it’s all around versatility with WiFi and Bluetooth.  The Sonos Five got my attention with what I am reading has a superior sound, but no Bluetooth.  I loose my WiFi while in garage with my iPhone, as well as an early edition echo, so I don’t think the Five would reach WiFi in the garage, though I have read that I could set up auto play and use an aux cord.  Again, I know the Five is big and bulky, I don’t mind carrying it to garage.  Also I just started reading about the Marshall Woburn 2, which gets great audio reviews and really has my attention at the m

I have an Arc, two Ones for surround, and a Sub Gen 3 in my open plan living room and kitchen area.The room’s about 39 feet long by 21 feet long and about 70% of it has 18-foot ceilings. The Arc located against one lengthwise wall about 10 feet from the couch, which is in turn about 13 feet from the surround speakers behind it. I’m wondering whether to replace the surround Ones with Fives. (I have two rooms that each need a single One anyway, so I’m going to have to buy something.) I have three common usage scenarios:Listening to music passively and will moving around at volume 2. It sounds great for this. My system spends the most hours doing this.    Watching TV and movies.  The Arc and Sub combo is incredible, but the placement of my surround speakers is 12–13 feet behind my couch, at the entrance to the kitchen area, so I don’t get the full surround experience from the surround speakers.  I accept this tradeoff because I sometimes sit at a table between the living room couch and ki

Hello guys, I wanted to upgrade to the latest S2 app but I couldn’t get any confirmation if all me devices are compatible with it.From the support page you can see the compatible devices but we only got names and it really confuse when you got connect/amp/gen1/gen2 etc (no pictures or others information). In my case I got 4 Play:1, 1 Playbar, 1 One SL and a Connect.I guess everything is okay except the Connect device that I cannot get any confirmation if okay or not.From the website https://support.sonos.com/s/article/4786?language=eng only the connect Gen2 is compatibly but how can I know if my is a Gen2? I have search on other topics and I don’t get requested confirmation:on the web portal I see all my devices but I don’t have any text legacy or modern juste online and serial number. on the sonos app you don’t have any Gen1 or Gen2 text. when I do “Check compabitility to S2” on the sonos app it directly asks me to update with the page “are you ready to go to S2”. I am looking to install speakers on my patio.  The patio is wired and the A/V port is in the living room.  Since the patio is already wired and I just need to install speakers, would I need the Amp or the Port to get them to play?  TIA! 

Hello, i am gonna extend my Sonos system with outdoor speakers and amp. From what i see it have to be installed with cabel between amp and the speakers ..?is the amp waterproof then ao we can leave it on the yard ?  

In my prevous house, I had a Bose Lifestyle V25 surround sound system setup (5.1), and loved it.  Just bought a new house that has wall and ceilng speakers (two front, two rear).  Was thinking of taking my Bose center channel and subwoofer and connecting to the receiver/amp where those existing speakings are connected, and figure out how to wire it to the four existing speakers.Only issue is that I don’t think the Bose supports 4K video (all inputs go throug it to the TV) and just bought a new Samsung Q80T.Someone suggested hooking up the TV to a Sonos wireless system instead.So my question to everyone -- Is this a good approach?  That is, buy a Sonos controller (?), center channel (Beam? Arc?) and subwoofer, and use existing wall/ceiling speakers for front and rear channels.  Can all this be wireless via WiFi?  (Snaking wires may be a problem in this new house.)Thanks in advance!

Currently  have arc and 3rd gen sub connected. The room is wired for right and left rear. If I get sonos port and connect a traditional amp (not sonos) will the room become a pseudo 5.1 with the arc (front right center left), 2 hard wired speakers in the rear and sonos sub? The amp is 2 zone so can I utilize the app and group my speakers? Everything above for living room movies and then party music on 2 hard wired patio speakers both running simultaneously? If not what's my fix to accomplish multi zone utilizing sonos app?

I have a question about if I can make Sonos work for a home theatre set up x2. Previous owners had living room with 2 wired architectural speakers over couch that are hooked to a gen 1 Sonos amp that goes to a AV closet. I am able to use this for music but wanted to see if I could incorporate them for the tv. My tv is a 2018 model oled so has arc hdmi although not eArc. If I got a Sonos arc, amp and sub could I hook up Sonos arc to hdmi on tv then bond to new amp connected to speakers and Sonos sub? I primarily use Apple 4K tv for streaming on tv applications. In a downstairs theatre there are 3 rear speakers in wall and 2 in rear in ceiling. These run to a receiver in AV closet and then to a gen 1 connect:amp to bring into Sonos. Could I essentially do the same set up here and replaced the fronts with an arc and set up new amp for rear wired speakers bonded together? thanks in advance. 

Hello I've seen questions asking when will Sonos market the Move in White. If I were you I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen 🤔. Besides, Sonos doesn't reveal future product updates/revisions until just before they launch. I doubt we’ll ever see a Move in White. Here’s why (IMHO)… Products designed for outdoor use have one common enemy…the Sun. Specifically UV rays and heat both of which are equally bad news for electronics. Without getting overly technical anyone reading this should achieve a layman’s understanding. Color has a lot to do with how well UV rays are rejected. White has the lowest UV ray rejection rating and Black has the highest UV ray rejection rating. That said we all know that for clothing white is better for keeping the body cool versus black which absorbs heat. The best color to wear in the summer for UV Ray rejection and low heat absorption is Blue. Click here for a 3rd party explanation. So…what does this have to do with the Sonos Move? I doub

I am looking at replacing my Sonos Playbar with a Sonos Arc. I will keep my 2 x Sonos Ones and Sub (Gen 2). However, reading a number of issues around Atmos play through and lip sync issues.  Poor lip sync can drive me crazy (the family less so...). My current TV as HDMI ARC (Sony Bravia KD-65X9000E) but not eARC - see specs https://www.sony.com.au/electronics/support/televisions-projectors-lcd-tvs-android-/kd-65x9000e/specifications Anyone have a similar arrangement and can confirm this arrangement will work well as don’t want to fork out a bunch of cash for marginal improvement. Hello,I have an old Sonos Connect:Amp wired to my speakers at home. And now I'm thinking of purchasing the new Sonos Port to connect it to my Vinyl player.Question: Can the Sonos Port stream music to the old Sonos Connect:Amp and play it through my analog speakers?Thanks! 

Planning to install an Arc on a MantelMount MM700 with a 65” TV.  Wondered if anyone else had tried this ? Questions: I’m not sure about the spacing on the mounting holes.  The MM700 says max 29” width (which I assume is the distance between the mounting holes).  Any idea how far apart the mounting holes are on the Arc? Did you need to use the Arc Wall Mount accessory to connect ? Did you need to purchase the MantelMount SoundBar Adapter which supports larger sound bars ? Thanks for any pointers ! Ward

Has anyone used the Sonos amp with b&w/kef speakers and sub? What’s that combination sound like?    I’m looking to buy the amp and use it in combination with an existing b&w pv1 sub and potentially new speakers. Considering 607s as they are the smallest available and have had good reviews.    Alternatively I do have some old kef 3005se speakers that I was looking to sell but could also try with this set up but I’m not sure about the combination.     Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. 

Hello, I will be making my first SONOS purchase for my future apartment (up to 1000 sq ft), but am also hoping to use this in my future full sized home within the next 5-7 years. I set my budget for $800 USD and my two options are: 1) Beam + 2 ones or 2) Arc.   I watch a lot of movies and TV, but also like to listen to music out loud every so often! I do not currently own a TV, but I will probably not be able to afford one that has HDMI-eARC capabilities. However, I plan to purchase one (at least 55 in) that has HDMI-Arc.    I’ve read a lot, but am still confused and torn between both purchases. I think (from what I’ve been told) the beam + 2 ones will overall sound better, but I’m not entirely sure if this is correct. I want to try to “future proof” this purchase as much as I can in hopes that what I buy will be usable for around 10 years or so and I think the Arc might have the edge here with the future of Dolby Atmos.   All suggestions are welcome :) thanks!!

Hi, I recently bought Sonos Move and I’m really astounded by its sound quality. I use this speaker literally in every room in my flat. Now I’m considering buying Sonos Beam to improve my TV sound quality. The only thing I’m concern about is the loudness level of the Beam. I read some opinions that it’s not loud enough for some people. Does anyone has got both speakers and can compare their max volume level? For example, the max volume of Beam is about 60% of Move, etc.. Second questions, how would you compare sound quality for both speakers? I know it might hard because it’s a different sound system, but just give your personal feeling about it. Thanks in advance.

I have (2) play 5 gen 2 and a sub gen 2 as a stereo pair. If I add a new arc what is the functionality of the system? Will I still have a dedicated stereo and acr function wit sub as home theatre?

Hi folks. I am new to Sonos and want to expand my system around the house. I have just bought a new Sonos 5. I have a set of B&O  Beolab 18 speakers. I would like to connect these wirelessly to my new Sonos set up.    Can the Sonos Connect work wirelessly? Or what would I need? 

I am growing weary with Sonos. I mean I understand supply chain issues, but come on for real you need to communicate with your loyal customers. I have just bought a Samsung Q90R TV to replace my aging but very able Panasonic Plasma TV. My intention was to then upgrade from my Sonos Beam plus 2 Sonos Ones, to the new Arc Soundbar. I chose the Samsung over my preferred LG OLED TV due to potential OLED screen burn-in issues that may or may not have occured. Turns out when reading many reviews of the Samsung TV i missed the fact that users had found that there were issues regarding lip sync when the Samsung TV passes through Dolby Digital from offboard satellite or cable boxes. I use SKY Q to receive and record programmes. The Samsung TV it seems delays the audio when passing through the  Dolby Digital signal against the video by approx 60ms causing lip sync error. As Sonos Arc only has one HDMI port like the Beam I won’t be able to view SKY Q with Dolby Digital and Atmos without getting lip sync error. At present I have to use a three into one fibre optical switch so connect my SKY Q audio and TV audio and BlueRay audio into

Hi community!   Moving into a new space soon, and looking for some advice for what to get for our LIVING ROOM and how best to set it up. Thanks in advance for your input!   First, some background info: Completely new to SONOS, have scraped by on TV audio so far (*GASP*). We’ve purchase two 2nd gen ONE speakers (planned for one to be in the kitchen and one in the master bed/bath).   2nd, here are our planned living room devices: We have a TV streaming device (Firestick, AppleTV, etc) - HDMI connection. We have a Blu-ray player - HDMI connection. We will be purchasing a turntable with built-in pre-amp - line-out connection.   The ask: The living room is not huge, so we think one good speaker in that room should suffice.  We are far more concerned with FULL, QUALITY audio than we are with surround/theatre sound.  When playing music (from any of our devices - turntable being the priority), we would like the ability to play the music through all our SONOS speakers; when watching

I have been waiting to upgrade my old Gen 1 Play:5s, and when the new products were launched yesterday I used my upgrade 30% off discount to preorder a pair of Sonos Fives and the Arc Surround Set.  Our home has a theater room that I have been waiting to build out, and now the time has come.   Originally I had thought about installing a 4k projector since we have enough room for it, however I’m unsure how the eARC connections and Dolby Atmos would work in this type of a setup.  It seems like I would have to buy some type of receiver to handle all of my inputs and ideally output eARC to Sonos and a video signal to the projector—not sure if this type of a setup exists.   It seem like the easier route would be to go with a TV with eARC support like the LG C9 where everything can connect to the TV and the Dolby Atmos audio goes to Sonos.   Does anyone have recommendations on the best setup to take advantage of Dolby Atmos with Sonos Arc?

I have a beam and two one SL’s as surrounds. I  want to upgrade and either get a sub to compliment my beam or sell the beam and get the arc. Lower level of my house. Room is 20x15 Can’t decide! 

I have a playbase in a 5.1 setup with two play: 1s for the rear channels and a sub.  I love the setup EXCEPT for the terrible lack of separation on the front left & right channels.   Can anyone comment on how the Arc performs in this regard?  Most of my content is NOT atmos, just normal DD5.1 I'd upgrade if I thought things that are supposed to be to the left of the screen would sound like they are actually to the left of the screen and not just slightly off center. If the separation isn't improved I don't see much reason to upgrade. Thanks in advance.
