Lockdown boredom has got the better of me so I’ve been thinking about what Sonos could next.Currently I have a Playbase 5.1 system with 1s as rears, a Beam, Port connected turntable, 1s in other rooms. All connect by the S2 app.What I’d like to see is a new amp with eARC for LPCM like the Arc and three channels for the front to include a centre. Sonos could also sell a range of passive speakers based on 1s? for front duties that would then allow trueplay which I’ve found does an excellent job of room calibration.I really think this would sell well, the Beam doesn’t sound as good as my Playbase, neither can handle LPCM, the Arc is quite substantial. I think a lot of people would see this as a great alternative to the huge AV amps available.Any thoughts?  

why can't I play my own music on Sonos,  All it's wants is for me to pay for streaming services 

Hi, I’m glad to see the other formats have been added to the app now, so you don’t have to go into about my system to check you are getting the correct method. However, is there anyway you can change Dolby Atmos so it actually shows Dolby Atmos - True HD and Dolby Atmos - DD+. Would be nice to separate them out as well, seeing as you have now added the rest.          

So, I can’t find any info, if I’m just ignorant, please excuse the next tirade!We have, for some time, had issues with Spotify playback being stopped randomly, at home and out and about.I think the culprit is the Sonos system at home.We have Spotify Family w all accounts added to the Sonos system, but! I can’t find a way tp prevent any user (or, since all use the same account, there is essentially only one user on one Sonos system) to choose the “wrong” spotify profile.I must say I find it pretty lame that there is no “Family” mode in Sonos, like Spotify has.I want each family member to have a different login, and me, as admin, assign who can play where.Yes, I know that we can have different wlans but it seems quite a silly workaround.Cheers/B

Hey hey,  Apologies if this has been asked already.. I have a system running on S1. Listening to BBC radio stations at the moment and I get a message saying that it won’t work from the twenty something of March..I can’t upgrade to S2 because of legacy devices.. do I have any option to keep listening to BBC radio stations after this date?  thanks so much!

Hi. I have an Arc set up with Sub, 1SL as surround with Sky Q and recently purchased a new Philips Atmos TV. I'm fairly OK I've set it all up correctly. When I select the DD+ set up in audio sections of Sky and the TV menu the main sound via the Arc is weak/tinny/faint. For example the app shows 5.1 and the surround sound is immense but the spoken portions of films or general audio via the Arc is quieter, especially with sports, compared to the surround sound/music/effects which are so loud. It's imbalanced. When I switch all the DD+ off and the apps shows Stero PCM the Arc is more powerful/meatier but the surround is slightly less immense but still is an awesome sound. Any tips???   

My arc should arrive Monday or Tuesday of this upcoming week.  Currently I have a playbar and a gen 2 sub and two gen 1 play 1s.  When setting up the Arc would be it best best to just remove the playbar and install the arc or remove verything (playbar, sub, and play 1s) and start from scratch? Thanks for any help.

I’m in the process of filling my whole house with Sonos speakers (aren’t we all?). I’m not getting into the super fancy ceiling speakers or anything so for music my choices are pretty limited, One or Five. I really like to have a wide sound field so for each room I have to decide either a pair of Ones or a pair of Fives, essentially $360 or $1000 per room. I suspect that given this huge increase in price none of my rooms will end up with Fives and I’m going to have a whole bunch of One SLs everywhere. I love the Ones but always wonder how much better each room would sound with Fives. Sure would be nice if there was some middle option for like $300-350 per speaker so I could put something just a little better in some rooms.

Why for the love of god are you still require users to use SMBv1 voor NAS Support? Whats the Eta for SMB v2 and 3 ?This is why I was worried of spending this kind of money on 1 vender. Vender lock in, and apparently security is irelevant.I waited years to buy sonos, because I knew stuff like this would happen with vendor lock in….I just want ot map a Network share from a NAS. Its not magic…. 

Hello community,while not meant as rant, I need to voice my disappointment.Sonos requires SMBv1 since a long time now, to be able to use shared music “folders” on a local network. Requests to update are voiced from the community since years now (just search the forum for SMBv1 and error 900).SMBv1 is considered not secure anymore, and one will hardly find any software that still requires that old protocol version - save Sonos.I mitigated the issue for some time now, by isolating the network share (and the related data) into a dedicated hardware, to not expose more important files on a common file server to potential risks.No longer.This ends my journey with Sonos - as they left me with the impression, that the security of my home environment is of no interest to them.It’s sad, as I liked their product…Greetings… and good bye!

I have a simple setup in a small room - Play 5 connected directly to a Teac TN-300 turntable (AT 95e cart and integrated pre-amp).  I’m upgrading my turntable and don’t know whether it will make much difference to get a stand alone pre-amp.  While I like the Play 5, this is certainly no audiophile setup, so I’m not sure I would realize enough benefit in sound quality going with a standalone to offset the convenience of an integrated pre-amp.  Have any of you experimented with this?

I've got an open, 15ft x 30ft kitchen & living room with concrete floors and high ceilings. I'm only going to be using the speakers for music and I'm wondering if its better to have with the sub in the middle:1) 4 Sonos Ones placed in the corners (ish) of the roomsOR2) Two Fives placed either at both ends of the room, or in the center.I already tried the Sub + Two Fives and it sounds amazing. I'm hoping I can save some money and have better sound dispersion by switching as it seems the Fives, as good as they are, may be overkill for that space. If it matters, I mostly listen to electronic music and what I call "90s adult contemporary"

I have a large collection of live music.  Currently it is stored on the hard drive of a windows desktop pc, backed up on an external hard drive).  I am due for a new computer that functions as my stereo, and I have been slowly moving off windows, so I may upgrade to Ubuntu for the next generation of computer that stores/plays music in my house.  But that isn’t my question (but if Ubuntu is a bad idea, feel free to tell me)….I am in the market for some wireless speakers.  I want to be able to play a playlist (which is a concert) that is currently stored on a hard drive on a computer in my office.  Ideally, I’d be able to play whatever concert I wanted in one or more rooms in the house.  Bonus points- I also need a nice sound system for the TV.  If the same speakers can play music from the computer OR play sound from the the tv in the living room, that’s pretty much my perfect setup.  And then I could get another speaker for the kitchen (we need music when we cook), and maybe an indoor/o

I just bought a sonos speaker (symfonisk) and i want to play spotify on it. i added spotify using the app, logged in to spotify and permitted access.  Now i can open spotify in the sonos app i see all my playlists. On the spotify webpage is see my sonos account added to the accepted connections so all should be fine.When i start a spotify song from within the sonos app its giving me a loading circle for 15 seconds and it tells me that the song cant be played and that spotify is disconnected.The speaker has perfect connection and all other streaming services and radio work perfect. For some reason the authorization between sonos and spotify goes wrong on the speaker or in the app. I tried restarting my router and did a full reset on the speaker without any luck. Before people start giving me advice to update the speaker…. i allready did it today and checked again but there is no newer version. im on 13.0 build 1.20.3.3-2.0I always thought sonos was a good manufacturer. Is there a way to copy sonos playlist from S1 setup to S2? I am running a dual setup in my house and I have playlists from S1 that I would like to bring over to S2.

So I fully charged my Move when I received it, used it for about 20 minutes and a week later tried to use it at a new location. When I tried to connect it, the lights on it were all dead. I know I can just charge it but do I have a lemon?Or when you move to a new location is this normal? Thanks!

I have the following components connected to my home theater:Sonos Amp Sonos soundbar Left and Right rear speakers Non-SonosI would like to connect a Non-sono sub woofer through the Sonos Amp sub woofer port.  I plugged in the subwoofer but I am not hearing any boom boom when I put stars wars on the home theater?

I wanted to revist my Sonos Amp setup vs my Sonos Arc setup, and give you guys a few thoughts. I posted a few days ago comparing some initial thoughts vs the Beam, Playbar and Amp, and I had a few more thoughts on the Amp vs Arc specifically.   Setup 1: Sonos Amp Rel Sub BW 685 Speakers Sonos Play:1 left and right Connected via Optical Adapter (HDMI Arc makes the Rel Sub hum)   Setup 2: Sonos Arc Sonos Sub Play One left and Right   A few quick notes on some questions people may have:   1.) Is the Arc worth it over the Beam and Playbar? I think it is, especially considering it will be around for years. It has noticeable improvements vs both. Beam Vs Playbar depends on your room size, but Arc vs everything else is more clear for me because the Arc has in general a better sound, sound stage, and atmos.   2.) Do you need to add a Sub or rear speakers? a.) If you have to choose, I'd add the rear speakers first, they will get you more of a surround sound experience in movi

Is it me or is the Move battery life ridiculously bad ?I have owned many portables (Harmon Kardon, JBL, Jawbone). They all make the battery life on my new Move a joke. How can a premium product so bad ? 

Hi! I bought I very nice setup for my new house (ARC, SuB Gen3, pair of One SL, AMP and 3 pairs of Architectural speakers…. I am very disappointed since I though the amp had more than one zone…I have wired my house for the ultimate experience…. I have also wired my backyard but it’s useless since I only have one expensive amp that can’t make the difference between my backyard speakers and my architectural speakers…Yes!!!  I saw some cheap speaker selectors that could make the trick but you need to select them manually… This is pretty basic stuff to be able to power up 1 set of speakers in that SONOS amp… I have something to tell to SONOS manufacturer.Why there is not a possibility to put something in the architectural speakers to be able to select à zone???? That would be good marketing too. If you need to use a specific zone, you need our amp and our architectural speakers…Now, I would need to purchase an 800$ Amp per each zone…. But my bathroom only has one speaker… This is crazy mon

I am interested in purchasing a new Sonos Arc soundbar.  Current I am using an Onkyo TX-NR686 receiver which has all my components (Rogers TV modem, Apple TV and X-Box).  This is connected to my LG OLED 65C8PUA through the tv and Onkyo HDMI ARC connection. My question therefore is how to connect everything to a Sonos Arc.Would I be able to keep everything plugged into the receiver as it is now and then plug into the sonos somehow or,Could I plug all the components into the tv by hdmi and save the HDMI ARC connection for the connection from the tv to the Sonos Arc?I really have no idea if this is making sense to anyone including myself so I hand it over to you fine people to hopefully understand and advise me.I am new here and appreciate the fact that there is a forum here and good people to draw help from!Cheers,Steve
