Hi,I use the sleep option on my iMac Sonos app, is there a similar sleep timer option for Sonos for the iPad? regards….Simon
It would be very nice if the Apple Music plugin for the Sonos app in iPhoneOS allowed better control - for example, if you’re browsing albums by an artist, there is no way to sort alphabetically, date released, etc. Also, when an artist has a ton of releases (usually a lot of singles), the process is a big mess - it would be very helpful to allow sorting by album/single/live release, etc. There should also be a shuffle feature to play all the music by an artist randomly.
So my Sony XBR55 X900E will only send audio through the built in speakers. I have a HD Fury setup with AppleTV 4K, Nvidia Shield, & Firestick all work like they should. Is this proper or did I mess something up?
My mini-controller sits atop all open windows on my Mac. Is it possible to have the mini-controller more transparent so it doesn’t obscure other windows? Or is it possible to have the mini-controller float or appear underneath other windows?
Once I get my Beam Gen 2 setup, do I need to do anything to remove my original Beam from association with my account to free it up for another happy home?

I am thinking of buying the new Beam but also getting 2 extra speakers for surround sound. I’ve read the document on how to , in general, setup surround sound speakers. It states that they need to be in line of sight to the device (Beam it would be in my case). However I was planning on tucking the extra speakers down and to either side of the sofa. They won’t be in line of sight. Is this going to cause me a problem? What may not work?
Kan ik naar de radio luisteren met Sonos?
We have 4 in-ceiling speakers and 2 Sonos Amps. After connecting the surround speakers we are no longer receiving sound from the left and right front speakers. I’m not sure where I went wrong. Any help is appreciated!
Hello SONOS community,I have a BEAM Gen2 w/ S2 app, Sub Gen3, Apple TV 4K (first generation), and a Sharp LE832 42” TV.I have tried connecting the BEAM to the TV’s ARC and messed around with the TV’s audio settings. At best, I can get Stereo PCM when connected in this way. If I ‘force’ the ATV to use Dolby Digital 5.1 output, this configuration does not produce any sound.I have invested in an HDMI splitter and connection via digital optical out DOES give me Dolby Digital 5.1 (again, when forced from ATV). For sure, a first world problem, but I would like to take advantage of ARC but I am beginning to think I am resigned to accept that my TV’s ARC does not carry a compatible Dolby signal. I realize a simple solution would be to buy a new TV, but I am hoping to hold out a bit longer.I appreciate any observations/suggestions.Thank you.
After nearly a year of ownership on our Arc SL we’ve decided to get a new TV. I’m looking at the Vizio M65. According to their site, the display has HDMI 2.1, but according to some reviews its really only HDMI 2.0b or something like that. From a previous discussion I believe someone said that on HDMI 2.0 you can get Atmos but its only Dolby Digital Plus, not True HD, so its compressed. Is this true? Or will True HD Atmos play through eARC on HDMI 2.0? Also, I’ve read elsewhere that the Apple TV 4k (5th or current generation) will not support True HD Atmos, only compressed DD+, regardless of the HDMI connection. Is this true?
HiNew to Sonos and looking to get the Sonos Beam Gen 2 to go with my LG C1 and PS5. How would this connectivity work for sound? 1. LG C1 to Sonos Beam Gen 2 via the eArc HDMI 2 (port 2)? 2. PS5 to C1 via HDMI 2.1 (port 1)Simple as that? How about the atmos setup I see a few threads about trouble with this? Thanks in advance!
I’ve been holding off updating to S2 because I expected it to be painful, buggy, and a mess to set up, and I wasn’t disappointed. I was finally forced to it in hopes that it ould solve the inability for Sonos to add Apple Music on Android. No luck with that BTW - it’s broken with the S2 app as well,So I installed the S2 app, and first it tells me it can’t find my Sonos system (Sonos One stereo pair), Then it decides that it did find them after all (same bug on a 2nd Android 11 device). Then it tells me that my speakers are incompatible. No further information or suggested course of action. Guessing that it wants me to update the speaker firmware (and why wouldn’t it tell me that?}, I dug down until I found a System Update option. It then logged me out and I had to log in again. But finally I got it to do the speaker update. It then recovered to match the original S1 functionality. No improvement I can see, and Apple Music remains broken. And of course now I discover that my Windows 7 de
Muchas graciasUN saludo
Do you know why this pop up amazon add comes and makes it impossible to control the app?
Hi there :) Last year I upgraded from Beam to Arc, and I absolutely love it <3 However, this year I was thinking on either upgrading the system with the Subwoofer or buying a turntable and use it with the Arc...(which I’ve already seen it would be difficult/expensive and the best option would be going with Sonos Five) But, what if I can do both? Would it be possible, or a good choice, to buy 1 Five and….Use it as rear to the TV system - Would I be able to use Atmos still? Connect it to a turntable, I understand I could create a group with Arc to listen to music right?I know 2 Five would be the best, but maybe I can start with 1 and later add the second haha Thanks!!!!
Hello, I am reviewing/seeking a soundbar that has some synchronization control over the incoming signal. I would like to be able to connect, via RCA jacks, a line level audio-only source such as a guitar emulation device or an optical to RCA audio converter coming from a standard HDMI equipped television. I’ve noticed when I played around an earlier version of the Sonos One amp that there is a delay from the time I dplay a chord on electric guitar going through a digital amplifier line level out via RCA then through the Sonos and ultimately out the speakers, that there is a considerable delay. The other scenario is connecting 10 year old HDMI digital television and feeding the audio output (via optical) through an optical converter to RCA and into the Sonos that the same delay is noticed. Is there anything on the market today that has some audio delay adjustment perhaps in an app, to remediate this delay of the incoming component signal? Thank you
It seems that the iPhone only presents the Sonos controls (play/pause, volume, skip) in the Lock Screen when Sonos was the last app used. It would be very nice to have this available anytime the Sonos system is playing.
I am probably being stupid but two questions. Why when I add a song to the play next queue does it seem to add the entire play list? Second why if you clear the queue does it stop play the song that is playing at the time? this seems stupid to me, I have lost count of the times when we have been having a house party and the song that has been queued doesn’t play, I look at the queue and theirs loads stuff from playlists that I may have choose a sonf from. When I clear it is stops the song I’m was playing and everyone boos lol. any advice?
Hello, I’m currently in a boarding school and had to hard reset my Sonos roam, as it was not working properly. Now I have the problem, that I can't set up my roam, as I don't know the password to the wifi because I only got access to it by installing a profile on my iPhone. Do you know any ways to solve my problem? Thanks for help
Before I added the sub the bass on beam with SL rears was pretty good, since adding the sub aware that the low frequencies go to the sub but when you switch off the sub in the app would expect this to return as prior without but all it does is switch off the sub. Is this normal or there an issue?
Subject says it all - Beam (Gen 2) what comes in the box?I would like to shop for optical cables (etc) before it arrives.thanks!~P
My husband has an iPhone and an iPad, I too have an iPhone and an iPad. We both have downloaded the Sonos app, and we have both logged into the app using a single Sonos account. We share one Spotify account. All four of our devices are linked to our home Wi-Fi, and the Sonos Move is also linked to the same home Wi-Fi. I can connect to the Sonos without any problem, on MY devices, but my husband’s devices cannot connect to the Sonos Move, although we have gone through the troubleshooting/connection prompts several times, with no luck. His Sonos app does show the Sonos Move, but it says he is not connected to it. Shouldn't we be able to freely use all four of those devices? We are only trying to use one of them at a time, by the way. Thanks for any insights.
Hi new to the communityi have a Russ sound amplifier system with 6 zones in house. I use older white Sonos Connect device to pipe music to each zone. Can I use the new Sonos Connect Amp to the Russ Sound system to get that additional wattage and better quality or just go with new Sonos Connect. Thanks
So I have a sonos beam connected to my Samsung smart tv via hdmi arc and I have a chromecast connected to the TV via hdmi. I stream movies using apps such as Netflix and others. Using this setup I only get pcm stereo sound and no 5.1 dolby digital with chromecast. When I use native app netflix installed on the TV 5.1 dolby digital works. We all know this by now. But my question is, if I buy a TV with built in chromecast, will 5.1 dolby digital work with my sonos beamthen?
